Doodles of the day! Please accept the low quality offerings for now, it's all I have energy for atm 😭 It's been a while since I sketched Lucien, I missed him. Lower left sketch was a result of trying different ways to draw faces, mixed feelings on it. The imagery is him looking down on someone like they're an insect. I personally like the simplest style best for sketches but I should practice drawing more detailed stuff.

Trying to draw MC also brought up a lot of questions for me - mainly how would players want to see them? Fully blank model? Should have clothes + hair but no face? I should probably do some kind of poll soon.

I've been meaning to draw something in return for this for a long while and now I finally got to it!! Honestly even I'm not sure what's going on in this pic, probably Lucien showing Mychael a little mushroom "garden" area that he's been working on deep behind the estate maybe.

I really enjoyed drawing Mychael, his design is so soft and nice... meanwhile I had a much harder time drawing my own oc adfghjklsdfjk

Sooo I know I disappeared for a bit again, but this time I was basically doing my own shonen protagonist training arc - been consuming a TON of tutorials and practicing in general, only a few of them are even remotely worth sharing, like this one! I'm not very happy with it, but at the same time, I put in too much effort to let it go to waste so I thought, why not attach a drabble with this because I need to practice my writing alongside my art too..

And so here's a short story of sorts that would take place in the prologue (it won't be exactly like this in-game since I'll have choices and variations to incorporate) hope you enjoy!

"Would you like to dance?"

You look at Lucien as if he's grown an extra head, as he extends his hand to you, waiting. The two of you were taking a stroll in his gardens after dinner, and you were in-between feeling at peace in the environment, and incredibly nervous as you were walking alongside Lucien Lockhart, trying to wrap your head around the fact that he was no longer just your favorite character beyond a screen, he was living, breathing, right next to you, you.

You were quietly taking in the foliage under the moonlight, reveling in the novelty of it, never having had the chance to see such a gorgeous garden at night (but really, everything was new when you were in an entirely different world) when he sprung the question on you.

You could feel his quiet amusement to your reaction, as you stare holes into the palm of his hand, wondering if it was worth taking it, to risk making a completely fool out of yourself in the process, in front of him, and so soon after meeting him? No, you couldn't-

"You are always welcome to say no, please don't feel pressured to do anything you don't want to."

Doesn't that just lay on the pressure even more!? But as you look at him and his gentle expression, like you could do no wrong, it felt easier to go along with it. And the moment you placed your hand in his, you felt it was the right choice seeing his face light up from that action alone.

He gently pulls you into position, one hand still holding yours, the other on your waist. He looked for all the world, content, as if it was enough for him just to hold you, have you near. He gives you one last questioning look, silently asking if it's alright to keep going. You can't back out now; you give him a nod, not trusting your voice.

It took all of 2 seconds to step on his foot. Oh this was a terrible idea what were you thinking-

You were brought out of your down-spiral by the sound of your name, prompting you to look up, at his face, his ever present smile when he's near you, immediately providing you with reassurance.

"Don't overthink it, just trust me."

Trust him.

Wasn't that a lot to ask from someone who's practically a stranger? But then again, maybe you weren't. After all, the two of you knew about the other this whole time, when you assumed it was a one-way street. In fact, you think he knows you better (knows you well, too well) than most of the people in your life. You could see it in all the little considerations he made for you in your short time together.

So you couldn't help but want to trust him.

You take a deep breath to ground yourself, and as you do, you could hear music drifting in the air, faint, but present. It was from the musicians Lucien had hired to play during dinner (to welcome you, he explained, when you said it was a bit too much fanfare for someone like you. He promises the next dinner onward would be simpler, for you. You couldn't help but feel a little wonder, at the assured promise of future dinners spent together, like it was only natural.)

So they were still playing, you hadn't noticed from your nervousness, but it made it feel a little less awkward to have some music to dance to.

You set your shoulders, resolute, as you gaze back at Lucien. He gives you a knowing smile, and begins to move again.

Trust him.

And so you do. You let yourself loosen up, trusting him to lead, to go where he pushed and pulled. It takes a moment, but soon the two of you fall into a rhythm, dancing to the music, and soon everything else fell away. You couldn't help the smile that tugged at your lips; you were doing it, you were dancing! And when Lucien smiles back at you, eyes filled with nothing but pride and admiration for you, you could feel happiness swell from within you.

"I'm going to spin you, ok?"

The next moment, he gently pulls your arm up and leads you in a twirl, and you couldn't help but feel a little silly(a little giddy) as you enact a scene you could only imagine before.

"Once more"

That was all the warning you get when this time, he lets go of your hand to instead place both on your waist. You couldn't help the gasp ripped out of you when he lifts you for a spin, impossibly stronger than he appeared, but soon devolved into delighted laughter as you grab his shoulders, weightless in the air.

You've never felt freer than you did at this moment.

In the meantime, I've been typing out the "meat" of the prologue script last two days, for some reason the words aren't flowing easily atm so I've just been setting up the scenes first so I can edit the phrasing afterwards to make it all sound better.

Lucien is panromantic demisexual! Though really, the only person he ever liked and would be attracted to is 'you'. His relationship with Rosalind was something he was programmed to feel, rather than a result of his actual feelings.

Unfortunate timing yet again

Ahh, I wanted to make a little something involving Lucien for the O2A2 jam, but unfortunately, my mother got really sick and had to be hospitalized, and I was staying with her for the past few days, so I couldn't finish in time.

Thankfully she's alright now and we're back home, just seems tired and I'm keeping an eye her.

Really frustrated with myself that nothing I plan seems to be working out lately, being met with problems on every turn. I thought it'd be a fun thing to share with all of you but I'll have to scrap it now.

I'll still share the CG I made for it, tried really hard to finish in time but just couldn't make it, sorry I keep messing up with this 😭

It was going to be "Teatime with Lucien" with a little twist at the end. Also tried to do a lineless artstyle just to try out, I think it looks quite nice but it was a pain to actually do it 🥲

I even had a plan to jump from this to an update for the main game in time for my birthday and everything but now it's in shambles, I feel like I need to take a short break from everything so I'll step away from all social media for a bit, I hope that's ok.

The last ask made me realize I didn't post some of the art on here like the dumdum I am so... here's the little art I did for a milestone, though by now the downloads have hit 2k which is crazy, and followers almost doubled on itch so thank you so much for that!!

Today's drawing is a bg wip! I can share this one because it's not spoilery. Perspective is HARD but somehow the sketch looks alright. But everyone knows lineart is the hardest part hahaha.... 😔 I'm no background artist, but I have about 6 bgs to do for day 1 alone (and that's not including day/night variations)... I'm gonna keep trying my best to keep with it but honestly, if I feel its way too much of a pain to do, I might just use some free assets instead so the whole creation process goes much faster. The issue is finding the exact aesthetic I want for the setting...

I'm trying to not be too hard on myself; My plan is to get a working game going so people can enjoy the story at least, and then ultimately redo all the assets in the future when my skills have improved. Even so, kinda hard to beat some sense into a life-long perfectionist 🥲

Oh wow, thank you so much for the kind words, it really means a lot to me!! I'm happy that you liked my little idea this much! I'm so sorry that I barely update, I have a lot on my plate currently and I've never developed a game before so... I definitely jumped off the deep end without any prep haha... I can only hope you guys have the patience to stick with me ;-; All I can say is that I'm the type of person who'll definitely finish something once I start it so I can guarantee I won't ever drop the game fully, but it'll be a bit slow-going.

I would love to do something like a kickstarter or patreon in the future, but for now I definitely don't have enough content ready to make it viable. I think once my life becomes more stable, I can carve a good chunk of time towards the game!

I think I could make a ko-fi account though, if people are interested in supporting! Maybe even make it a little commission thing where I draw a sketch a requested character or a drabble or something for a kofi or two. Let me know if anyone's interested in this kinda thing, or what you'd like to see!

what are your boundaries for asks? such as, are we allowed to discuss nsfw topics, interact with the characters directly, etc? or would you prefer if asks only discussed the game and lore?

Hello Eden! (is it ok if I call you that) Thank you for your interest in the game, it means a lot!

Hmm my boundaries for asks... that's a tough one for me to articulate since all of this is very new to me - I can't say what I might not be uncomfortable with/good at until I give it a shot at least, so right now I'd say I'd welcome pretty much any kind of ask!

To go a bit more in detail, at the moment I would probably prefer asks about characters rather than for them in-character; I think I need to take more time to be more in-tune with them before I can try it myself - it looks fun when others do it! And naturally, asks about game and lore are more than welcome.

As for nsfw... full disclosure, I'm an ace creator and I'm personally not sure if I can do that aspect justice just yet asdfhgjkl. I'm fine working with suggestive content, but full-on nsfw is a different ballpark.

That's not to say I avoid it completely; I know plenty of ace creators who make amazing nsfw content, but I've always mostly looked into it for it's intimacy aspect, rather than the act itself, if you get my point? So, I haven't personally dabbled into that part yet, and I figured it's time to do some actual research on this end of things 😭

Honestly the 18+ tag is mainly for the suggestive and horror aspects, and to keep it open for the possibility I might add nsfw to it, since it's generally very popular in the yan community? But again, atm I have no clue if I'd be any good at it haha... as a hint, I guess I could say I like those fics where the authors write nsfw like it's poetry? Not exactly so but, it really brings out the kind of intimacy I enjoy, and there's a good chance when I try to write something, it will probably try to emulate that feeling as well.

In terms of asks, I could probably answer some general stuff, but nothing too explicit just yet? But at the same time, anyone is free to send in the asks anyways, I could probably set it aside as points for research regardless!

If anything makes me truly uncomfortable I'll make sure to tell you all, but I generally have a good...tolerance? For such things (idk what's the word to use here lol)

LOL honestly i think im slowly becoming very fixated on this vn HAHA i just really adore what we have so far!!! i personally love fantasy isekai romance stories and i also love yandere vns so this is like. RIGHT up my alley SGHDJSCF i hope you dont mind me often sending in asks!! i'm just very curious about the world of rosalinds lie and lucien :-) that being said-- are we going to meet the other love interests of rosalinds lie in the game, or even rosalind herself? -- @chercookue

I may or may not have mentioned 'The Prince' here before but he's one of those LIs and I'm definitely planning on letting you meet him! As for the others, I can't really say anything atm!

You will also get to meet Rosalind, yes - that's gonna be.... a whole event in itself haha. I don't know if you'd like a longer explanation of what meeting Rosalind entails, or if you'd just like to discover it when it happens, so I'll leave it here for this ask.
