The church was empty, save for the two of you. The flickering candlelight cast eerie shadows along the walls, illuminating the silent devotion in Seungcheol’s dark eyes. His hands, warm yet unyielding, gripped yours as if he were afraid you’d slip away.
"You don’t have to be afraid," he murmured, thumb stroking the back of your hand. "This is God’s will."
Your breathing was shallow, heart hammering against your ribs. "Seungcheol, this isn’t right."
His expression remained soft, almost gentle. "You don’t mean that."
He pulled you closer, his presence overwhelming, suffocating in its intensity. His breath was warm against your forehead as he whispered, "I've prayed every night, asking Him to take these feelings away. But He didn’t." His lips curled slightly. "That must mean something, don’t you think?"
Your stomach churned. "That doesn’t mean you can just—"
"Keep you here?" he finished for you, head tilting slightly. "Why not? I’m only doing what’s necessary."
Panic surged through you. You tried to pull away, but his grip tightened. The softness in his eyes darkened into something possessive, something unshakable.
"You don’t understand," he said, voice trembling with conviction. "God led you to me. He chose you for me." His gaze bore into you, unwavering. "I am a man of faith, and my faith tells me that love is not something to be abandoned. It is something to be kept."
Your pulse raced. "Love is about choice, Seungcheol. You can't force—"
He pressed a finger to your lips, silencing you. "Shh," he whispered. "Don’t say things you’ll regret."
His arms wrapped around you in a firm embrace, caging you against him. His heartbeat was steady, unshaken by doubt.
"I will keep you safe," he murmured. "I will protect you. And one day, you’ll see—this is where you were meant to be."
The church doors shut behind you with a resounding click.
Your world shrank to the man before you.
And no one was coming to save you.

_____________
The church bells tolled softly in the distance, signaling midnight. The sound reverberated through the empty cathedral, a solemn melody that should have been comforting—but tonight, it felt like a warning.
You sat in one of the pews, staring up at the towering cross above the altar. The dim candlelight flickered against the statue of Christ, casting shadows across the walls. Something about the silence of the church unsettled you tonight.
"You're still here."
The deep voice startled you.
Seungcheol stood by the entrance, his figure outlined by the moonlight streaming through the stained glass. His expression was unreadable, but his dark eyes held an intensity that made your stomach twist.
You forced a smile. "I didn’t realize how late it was. I should go."
You moved to stand, but before you could take a step, his hand gripped your wrist. Not hard enough to hurt, but firm enough to make you stop.
"You always say that," he murmured. "That you'll leave. But you never do."
Your breath hitched. Something about his tone sent a chill down your spine.
"I just—I like the peace here," you said carefully. "And you're always here, too."
His lips curled slightly, though it wasn’t quite a smile. "Of course. This is where I belong."
His fingers tightened around your wrist.
"And so do you."
You frowned. "Seungcheol, let go."
His grip didn’t loosen. If anything, it tightened.
"You don’t understand," he said, his voice softer now, almost pleading. "I’ve prayed. I’ve begged. But it’s no use." His dark eyes bore into yours, desperate yet unwavering. "God led you to me for a reason."
Your heartbeat pounded against your ribs. "What are you talking about?"
Seungcheol slowly knelt before you, still holding your wrist. His fingers trembled against your skin, as if restraining himself from something greater, something dangerous.
"I fought it for so long," he whispered. "I told myself that love should be pure, that devotion should belong to Him and Him alone." He exhaled shakily. "But then you came along, and I realized something."
Your lips parted, but no words came out.
His grip slid down to your hand, intertwining his fingers with yours.
"Love is worship."
The candles flickered. The church doors creaked.
And in that moment, you knew—
You weren’t leaving tonight.
