I wasn't entirely sure where to go with this so I tried?

Short Concept/Reaction

Pairing: Romantic/Platonic

Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Drinking, Nikolai is always a drunkard, Implied babying, Teasing, Protective behavior, Touchy behavior, Not entirely yandere, he could probably be worse.

Well, since we’re talking about Ultimis, man is always drunk on vodka.

You never see Nikolai without it.

Understandably, he thinks everything is funnier on the drink.

While your childish behavior may irritate people like Richtofen, it actually amuses Nikolai.

Richtofen yells at the russian to stop encouraging you, but it doesn’t help.

Mostly, Nikolai treats your childish behavior like some sort of joke or gimmick.

It’s funny and he likes it!

You’re sweet and innocent, much more trusting of the gang than anyone else.

You also make childish jokes.

It annoys some of the gang when Nikolai goes straight into laughing when you make a really dumb toilet humor joke or something.

Dempsey makes the joke that “You two are perfect together” due to the sense of humor you two have.

Richtofen only groans at this while Takeo chooses to stay out of it.

Best decision, really, Nikolai never liked Takeo.

Ultimis Nikolai seems like the type of person to get really touchy, being one of those types of drunks.

Nikolai seems like he’d be in between angry drunk and really happy drunk.

He’s mostly happy around you.

You’ll catch him leaning on you or wrapping an arm around you, mumbling about how he thinks your behavior is cute.

He doesn’t show much of a yandere behavior.

Unless it’s Takeo, then he just gets aggressive when you talk to him. 

He isn’t always easily jealous, more just overly affectionate.

If he was, he'd play it off like a joke.

"Hey! Where's my affection, sweetheart?"

All you can smell is vodka on his breath….

Nikolai thinks your childish behavior is very sweet, to the point he gets a bit protective of you.

Hell, he’d probably treat you like a child sometimes as a joke, unless you like it- Then he'l continue it.

He doesn’t care at all if Richtofen doesn’t like it.

This is a thing between the two of you, he doesn’t need to join it.

He’d stay just protective if this was more of just a platonic thing.

If this was a romantic thing then he’d probably add drunken teasing into it.

He'll make slight jokes about how you being that innocent HAS to be just some facade… there’s no way.

Either way, he’d probably encourage your behavior, much to the group’s displeasure.

At least you bring some humor into the group and him.

Just be aware if you act like a child, he’ll probably treat you like one at times.

Romantic Yandere! Ultimis Tank Dempsey (COD: Zombies) with broken! Darling? She was the first to be experimented on by Richtofan (she was his favourite subject and probably still is) and experiences dissociative episodes pretty often during their journey. Can’t smile or laugh without flinching at any form of physical constant, let alone the sight of needles. She doesn’t remember the experimentations like the other three, but constantly gets a bad feeling around Richtofan and would throw herself in risky situations without even realizing. (i.e. running to a horde or getting hurt)

I'll see what I can do as I am a bit rusty with writing the personalities of the COD Zombies crew. Hopefully I still get things right ^^

This only makes the feud between Richtofen and Dempsey grow I think.

Dempsey never really trusted Richtofen anyways.

That only increases as his obsession grows with his darling.

Let's talk about you first.

You were one of Richtofen's first experiments with Element 115.

Takeo, Nikolai, Pablo, and Dempsey came after you.

As a result you have always been Richtofen's favorite.

To make it darker, Richtofen might have tried to make some sort of relationship with you while experimenting on you.

The experiments alone cause trauma for you.

Even more so due to how Richtofen was always touchy when he injected the serum into your skin, praising you for being such a good experiment.

He was never like this with the other experiments.

Fast forward to later, after you, Richtofen, Dempsey, Takeo, and Nikolai become known as Ultimis... you are very reclusive towards the rest of your group.

You often have a blank stare and don't react much when touched.

You'd rather space out then acknowledge your surroundings.

The mention of needles or the sight of them sends you into a panicked frenzy.

You often stay away from Richtofen despite barely remembering the experiments with the others.

In fact any interaction with Richtofen causes tension.

You become hard to take care of due to being unable to stay in the moment.

Dempsey finds this irritable at first but slowly pieces together theories of why you're like this.

Out of all the experiments it looks like you were affected the most.

It's... sad, honestly.

Dempsey really starts to wonder about Richtofen when he senses the tension between you and the man.

He wonders what Richtofen did to you... to any of the group, actually.

Dempsey no doubt theorizes the worst and decides he'll be the one to keep you in check.

When Richtofen protests, saying he's in charge of you, Dempsey puts up a fight

"No way, I'm not trusting you with this woman. I have no idea why she's scared of you... but you aren't coming near her unless you want to tell me what happened."

Despite the experiments changing Dempsey to be more of a stereotype, I feel he'd be protective of you naturally as he would be towards any other member of his old team.

Dempsey has seen the ramblings of Richtofen and can't help but grimace at the idea of what you've gone through to get to this point.

Dempsey tries to be reasonable and care for you during the mission Richtofen sends you all on.

Despite Dempsey being a yandere he provides more comfort to you than any of the other members here.

He soon grows used to your silence and disassociation as you travel together.

Dempsey isn't the nicest person in the world but he is probably the most comfort you have now.

When there's a break and Ultimis settles down, Dempsey pulls you beside him and tries to communicate with you.

You give him blank stares and don't usually react but he assumes you're listening while he talks.

Dempsey wouldn't develop romantic feelings until he knows he's connected to you.

For example; hearing you talk, reciprocation of physical affection, smiling, anything that shows you coming out of your traumatized state.

Who knows if you'd ever recover fully, however....

Dempsey may be foul-mouthed, brash, and a bit narcissistic but he still wants to see you recover.

He isn't sure why he's so attached to you, maybe it's to spite Richtofen?

Or maybe he hasn't seen a woman in so long that he's developed an attraction...

Dempsey doesn't dwell on it too much and focuses on easing you into accepting the current situation.

There is times Dempsey won't even listen to Richtofen in missions due to you.

He hates him due to their sides in the war, he hates that he doesn't know what Richtofen did to him, and he hates that it looks like Richtofen did something to you.

Honestly if you ever did open up to Dempsey and allow yourself to be vulnerable around him, Dempsey would feel himself sinking deeper into his obsession with you.

You hate physical contact, although when Dempsey tries it one time you actually don't avoid it.

It's okay with him... for a little bit at least until you flinch away.

Seeing you slowly begin to rely on him gives Dempsey pride.

He wants to rub it in Richtofen's face... but that would hurt you.

I can imagine Dempsey gets really attached to you to the point if Richtofen came near you... violence on sight.

If you mentioned Richtofen came to talk to you... or that you remember what Richtofen did... who's going to stop Dempsey from murdering the man?

It's a fight you aren't willing to watch.

Takeo and Nikolai have to pull Dempsey off Richtofen as Dempsey probably would not stop until the mad doctor is dead.

When you're comfortable enough, if you ever are, Dempsey would hold you and not let you go.

He wants to kill Richtofen so fucking bad.

He often comments on how strong you are to deal with all of this... he tries to learn how to be someone you can rely on....

Dempsey soon accepts the fact he's fallen for you...

Out of anyone, he wants to help and save you.

Maybe he does love you...

He loves you and wants to help you.

He's overprotective and a bit possessive, appearing on guard when someone tries to come near you.

You soon begin to lean on him metaphorically (soon, maybe even physically) and see him as someone who could protect you.

You bond over your shared distrust of Richtofen.

If Dempsey tries anything overly affectionate with you, you have to signal to him if you're uncomfortable.

He'll then back off and go back to comforting you, apologizing under his breath.

Dempsey takes time to learn how to be comforting and what you are okay with and are not.

He's not used to being all soft.

Yet he learns it for you since you've been through a lot.

Truthfully, he just seems like he wants to try and care for you.

Although, he acts like such a guard dog towards other people around you.

So... here's the question:

Is he trying to help you through your trauma by preventing any more pain...

Or is he using it to keep you all to himself under the guise of protecting you?

"It'll all be okay, doll... he won't hurt you ever again with me here."

Both Ultimis Richtofen and Dempsey have a mutual hatred towards each other.

They fight each other and often get in arguments.

Sure, there's times where they tolerate each other to get a job done...

But they hate each other's guts.

Your little attachment doesn't help.

Richtofen already acts really deranged around you due to his obsession and overall insanity.

This could put you off to him and drive you more towards Dempsey.

This drives Richtofen mad.

You... you TRAITOR.

Why would you side with him!?

You simply siding with Dempsey is enough to make Richtofen extremely upset.

Jealousy and general hatred towards Dempsey pools in his gut like a sickly poison.

He already tries to show his displeasure to you.

He says you shouldn't trust Dempsey so much.

He also makes comments on how he's so sad you decided to neglect him in favor of him.

Richtofen only gets worse when he sees you and Dempsey being affectionate.

Mutually affectionate.

Now, if it was one-sided then he'd simply think your adoration was misplaced and would redirect you.

But the fact you're both so fascinated with each other makes Richtofen want to scream.

He can't stand you two being love birds.

Part/Most of this can just be Richtofen's delusional mind.

You two may not even have a relationship and he's just seeing it as such.

Richtofen when jealous is definitely the type to make it everyone's problem.

That's right, everyone in the group is going to hear Richtofen lament about his issues with you and Dempsey.

Nikolai is so out of it he doesn't care.

Takeo wishes you'd resolve this little couple's spat.

Dempsey enjoys causing Richtofen so much trouble when being around you but even he wishes Richtofen would shut up.

His voice is purposely whiny around you, begging you to ditch Dempsey for him.

At this rate everyone's so sick of him you decide to hang around him more just to get him to stop.

Richtofen finds this a fair deal and, like an entitled brat, gloats at how he's got his way.

If Dempsey continues to "harbor feelings", Richtofen may even get violent.

Fights usually bring you up...

Which leads to you and either Takeo or Nikolai pulling the two off each other.

Richtofen is unstable.

In fits of rage he's crying your name and attempting to snuff out Dempsey.

The growing violence between the two concerns you and you're the only way to fix it.

For the safety of Dempsey and progress in the mission, you try to keep Richtofen occupied.

Richtofen is overjoyed you decide to side with him...

It gives him satisfaction that he knows how to get his obsession in the end.

You envy Richtofen's success.

That's what begins the rivalry.

You want to be better than him.

Richtofen finds this annoying at first.

You may rival him but he takes your irritation at his success as a victory.

After all, it's like admitting he's good at what he does.

Richtofen begins to not mind your envy.

To be honest, he really does enjoy the attention.

Like Ultimis, Primis can have a bit of an ego.

If it makes you happy, he'll act like you still bother him.

Richtofen doesn't mind being a little competitive.

It serves as bonding between you in his eyes.

Your ambition may rival his own, a trait he'd find endearing in his darling.

It's funny since you are irritated and annoyed by him, yet Richtofen now thinks you're attractive like this.

He doesn't tell you this for awhile but your "rivalry" just serves as a hook for him.

He loves it... he loves you.

Richtofen would pursue his darling like normal until he confesses.

His confession was either expected or surprising to you.

He adores any sort of attention you spare him, good or bad.

Despite your irritation towards him... he still manages to be beside you.

Even with the signs of what was to come, you still reject them.

Primis Dempsey is less aggressive and profane compared to his ultimis counterpart.

He is still vulgar at times but he is usually one to stick to the mission and keep the team cooperating.

Despite his vulgar comments and jokes, Dempsey probably would get along with a more timid darling.

As long as your timid behavior doesn't get in the way of the mission or prevent you from using a gun....

One way or another, you ended up joining primis on their mission.

Richtofen probably has some plan for you, hopefully nothing sacrificial.

Dempsey may end up being the one you end up hiding behind and trusting the most.

Richtofen seems strange and while Takeo and Nikolai are nice, Dempsey just seemed to scream protection to you.

You can use a gun well enough to keep you alive, although Dempsey's attitude made you gravitate towards him.

Dempsey does not mind you or your soft spoken nature.

You don't get in the way and you help out.

Dempsey may even compensate for your timid nature and tone down his vulgar speech when talking to you.

It's surprising how soft his tone becomes when talking to you.

Richtofen is impressed that Dempsey is so attached to someone.

Dempsey even helps you and your confidence when speaking.

That's usually when you need to tell the others something.

The others will ask you something and they're answered with Dempsey saying your answer loud and clear.

He's like your mouthpiece at times.

Often preferring to speak for you, strangely enough.

Dempsey goes from tolerating you and not giving you much thought, to helping you around your issues.

He's actually caring towards you while normally neutral towards the others.

It's quite the character change for him.

Dempsey would be the same romantic or platonic in this situation.

He supports you despite your timid behavior and defends you.

If one of the other team members pressure you, they're dealing with Dempsey.

"Cut it out, you're working (Y/N) up."

Dempsey is supportive and protective towards you.

It could be your personality, he doesn't care why he likes you.

He just likes you and wants to aid you like the others in the team.

He is also... protective of you around them, too.

He cusses at the others sometimes and gets annoyed when they're around you.

He never elaborates on it, though....

In terms of affection, Dempsey probably would give pats on the back or quick hugs, but most of the time it's quick actions of affection.

He'd also keep a close eye on the rest of the members, just to make sure you're "getting along".

If you're getting stressed, Dempsey helps you calm down.

He calms down the rest of the team already, you're no problem.

Overall, Dempsey is rather neutral to you at first but grows to be attached to you and your timid nature.

It's upsetting that someone such as you has to go through all of... this. The zombies.

Dempsey promises to help and defend you, however.

Just trust him and not Richtofen.

Lol the turn has tabled and we've got an insane S/O with Richtofen who tries his damndest to get them back to how they were before, it soon turns into a slight obsession as S/O has to be kept a bit isolated due to their newfound destructive nature

Reminds me of the dynamic between RED Medic! Darling with BLU! Medic from my TF2 fics. Despite you being considered Primis, you were never part of the soul shard so your primis counterpart death does not affect the timeline. Confusing, I know.

Primis Nikolai is so much more gentle than his Ultimis counterpart. Which is going to make a softer Yandere. Concept as not specified.
