And lastly, I recently got into dark souls, and I was wondering if you could do a concept of Ornstein and Smough?

I love them even if I can't figure out a plot for the life of me so here I go trying.

I'm so sorry for its length, I struggled hard on this for whatever reason.

Yandere! Ornstein + Smough Concept

Pairing: Romantic/Platonic - Sharing/Rivalry

Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Obsession, Manipulation, Overprotective behavior, Possessive behavior, Sadism, Isolation, Kidnapping, Murder, Blood, Forced companionship/relationship.

Despite being total opposites, these two are companions meant to defend Anor Londo's cathedral.

Dragon Slayer Ornstein is a knight who has only ever been loyal to his lord and king.

He has fought in the war against dragons and served his masters with devotion.

He has respect as most knights do and is well known for his strength and loyalty.

Then there's Executioner Smough...

Smough is a large man who is sadistic and cannibalistic in nature.

He thrives on bloodshed and his nature prevents him from being a knight as revered as Ornstein in the eyes of his king.

It's funny how the two are paired...

A loyal knight... and a beast of a man with little morals.

Even worse?

You are between them.

My biggest focus in this is how different their personalities are.

Ornstein seems like the best bet for you.

He treats you the most humanely, after all he's kept his sense of honor.

He's more of a protective type, a knight who would show loyal devotion to his obsession.

While he might still imprison and isolate you, he never leaves your side.

He treats his obsession like he would his kings and lords.

While Anor Londo is abandoned by the Gods, he still knows his purpose is protection.

He'd praise you, keep you safe, treat you as though you're his most important objective now in this illusion.

Smough, of course, is a different story.

While Ornstein is the closest you'll get to chivalry in this place...

Smough is a beast.

While the executioner still keeps his vow to defend the cathedral, he delights in violence.

He's possessive and savage towards his obsession.

While Ornstein would be gentle and respectful of his affection.

Smough is more likely to squeeze you just because you're smaller and weak...

Like a twisted form of cuteness aggression to the point where you think something within you snapped.

They're so different yet are given the same task.

Protect Anor Londo, even when most of the Gods are gone.

The two could either share or fight over you.

Sharing makes sense as Ornstein would need to be there to make sure Smough doesn't get the idea to squish you.

Although fighting over you also makes sense, as Ornstein would want to protect you...

Meanwhile Smough acts rather aggressive when around his obsession.

I can see them both keeping you at the cathedral to share you.

Maybe you're the Chosen Undead, you're meant to rekindle the First Flame.

Or maybe you're another knight...

Or even just some sort of life wandering Anor Londo.

Regardless... You'll eventually encounter these two... and you may never leave.

That cathedral becomes your roadblock.

You aren't leaving there... not quite because you died...

Yet you are a prisoner to them.

While Smough is definitely an enforcer, one willing to turn anyone too close into paste...

At least you have Ornstein?

Ornstein is known for being a great knight... he provides wonderful company.

But he never lets you leave.

In that sense, he's just as bad as Smough.

While he's more respectful and understanding than Smough.

He still prioritizes his own desires and needs over yours.

He's still just as selfish as his partner, the cannibal executioner.

Said executioner is someone you expected to not convince to let you leave.

He seems too giddy to let you go.

He looks down upon you from his two false faces and you can smell the blood on his hammer.

Both of them have killed countless beasts and humans.

In fact, during your time with them, you'll probably even see it done.

Most of the time, Ornstein is occupied with you while Smough handles the issue.

As expected... you faintly hear intruders become a sickening splat and Smough chuckling.

You feel ill.

Smough is someone you expected to keep you locked here.

He's a monster in his own right, taking joy in his job.

He'd even sacrifice Ornstein if it meant getting what he wanted.

Which makes you wonder if you're enough to keep Smough from harming Ornstein... or if he'll just do so at a later time.

What makes you feel the most dread is how Ornstein acts.

The knight treats you gently, often looking after you while Smough plays executioner.

He acts nice and protective...

But you wonder why he puts up with Smough?

You wonder why he doesn't just... take you out of here?

You wonder why he won't do anything to help you...!

Why does he leave you to entertain Smough?

Why does he do any of what he does around you?

Ornstein often ignores your pleas for freedom.

Why?

Well, not only are you a good way to keep Smough under control...

But nowhere else is safe for you.

Why bother leaving? You're safest here with the two looking after you.

Smough is a beast, yes, yet he's attached to you and Ornstein reigns him in.

Ornstein doesn't help you leave as he feels this is the best place for you.

Ornstein and Smough are infamous for being a ruthless duo.

No threat can harm you if you stay here...

Ornstein never plans on rescuing you... Smough doesn't plan on letting him, either...

You're stuck here, in this illusionary cathedral, stuck with two loyal guards...

Your only way out is just as bad as the monster he trusts as his companion...

Perhaps you will die in this place... just not in the way you once thought.

I can try to write for him, sure! It might be short... but I hope I kept him in character. Sorry it seems a bit disorganized, I was stuck on it for two days and was very distracted this week.

Yandere! Ornstein Concept

Pairing: Romantic/Platonic

Ornstein was known as a legendary knight when it comes to his lore.

He took down dragons, fought in wars, and was loyal to his lord and lord's first born.

He wields lightning and a great spear, the best method for slaying dragons.

Nowadays, in the present, he is meant to protect the cathedral of Anor Londo for the sake of honor and duty.

He is meant to test the Chosen Undead with Smough, yet when that does not happen, he leaves to hunt down the Nameless King.

Other than that info, we do not know much about Ornstein personality-wise.

Based on the fact he's a knight and captain of the Four Knights of Gwyn, I can see him having a... gentleman-like behavior?

He's a knight of honor and duty.

He's loyal and a fierce fighter... always guarding those he's loyal to.

In terms of who his obsession could be... Maybe you're also a knight of Gwyn, or even part of Gwyn's blood.

Ornstein could either be your knight... or your captain.

You no doubt knew him before the fall of Gwyn either way.

I choose this time period as Ornstein would seem to be more capable of bonding with his obsession through these scenarios.

It's hard to write anything very lengthy for him as he's silent and only really used as a boss once. (or twice?)

Despite that, imagine this...

Imagine being one of Gwyn's children, a sibling of the Nameless King.

Ornstein naturally follows your commands because he is loyal to your family.

You are a strong being who seems to draw in everyone's eyes.

Ornstein is included in that list.

Ornstein isn't a possessive yandere, he's definitely protective.

He tends to keep his personal feelings to himself.

Especially when it comes to serving someone as important as you.

To you, Ornstein is your silent yet humble knight.

You can barely tell if he has desires of his own, honestly.

Plus, it's not like you'd expect Ornstein to have any desires that a knight would not have.

You expect him to protect you, to serve your family.

If we're using the scenario where you're a knight under his command, the same situation still applies.

You can never fully read your captain's feelings... yet you follow his orders obediently.

Which allows him to keep you out of danger.

Ornstein would protect you no matter the status, he cares for you that much.

He feels protecting you would be his duty, be you with similar status to him or not.

I would not doubt Ornstein would kill, but it would not be blindly.

Anor Londo is slowly but surely becoming a rotting city.

It would be easy to lose you to its many threats... which is why Ornstein would act like a bodyguard.

He may not say much, but it's certainly all in his actions.

He pulls you away from areas, he seems concerned when you're hurt...

You've even seen him plunge his spear through countless foes, electricity burning their flesh....

Ornstein is a legendary knight known by many.

He's loyal to those he swears by, including his obsession.

Fighting and protection is really all he knows.

Affection is nearly a foreign thing to him.

To him, giving his life to you is his affection.

He'd slay anything for you.

He'll keep quiet about who you talk to, but he's always observant.

Ornstein overall seems like a calm and tame yandere.

His behavior is controlled, he allows you to have your freedoms.

He usually only ever steps in when there's a potential problem.

Ornstein is always at your beck and call if you are related to Gwyn.

If he is your captain, he still looks out for you.

It's harder, missions and duties getting in the way.

You could easily be hurt, however...

It isn't long before Ornstein takes you off duty.

He'll make you patrol in one spot, or have you do another task.

Be him serving you, or you serving him... In the end, his goals are the same.

He will dedicate himself to his obsession, be them Gwyn's child or another traveler in this realm.

He shall be loyal to you, no matter how much blood is spilled.

He'll do anything to make sure not a drop of your blood hits the stone tile though.

Even if it means isolating you... guarding you where no one else can enter....

Ornstein is used to guarding.

He's used to guarding whatever he's told.

However, this time... Guarding you in a singular bedroom is his choice.

You may hate it... But this is to aid you.

A knight as skilled as him has seen many threats and dangers...

How about you let him keep you safe... Even if it sacrifices your autonomy.

I kinda wanna talk a bit about how much my Dark Souls AUs are developed... Modern AU - Pretty far, I have roles for almost all the characters and the general world building came along nicely. Just recently I found a role for Nito, who is the creepy gravewarden who just wants to be left alone.  Out of Armour AU - Honestly, I have thought about this a lot lately. It has an opening and some kind of climax but the ending gives me trouble. Also, it got a bit out of hand with the ships in it, whoops... Prisoner Ornstein AU - Pretty developed, mostly diving into the different endings though which are also pretty fixed in my head, but need work for some of the OCs or minor background characters appearing in them (the endings lead to dragon AU and a yet to be named AU where Ornstein and Smough search a new life in the east). Prince Ornstein AU - I come back to it on a regular basis. The general world feels completed, but how the story plays out isn’t in my head right now. Also, NK keeps interfering with my head, damn dragon prince...  Painter AU - Whoops... haven’t thought about this lately, so not very developed... Also there is some stupid self indulgent stuff like Yandere Ornstein or Middleschool AU...  and then there is this idea where Ornstein returns to Lordran only to find it is Lothric now and finds the kid twin princes who have run away from home...

7. What triggers nostalgia for them, most often? Do they enjoy that feeling?For Smough, times when things at his village were still alright and they were not at the brink of starving. Also, loving memories of his deceased wife. He only partially enjoys it, because he can’t go back there anymore.For Ornstein it is all the wonderful time he spent with the others knights, his master and princess. It mosten ends up with him starting to cry because of all the guilt he feels when he remembers, so he doesn’t enjoy it very much.17. Are they easily embarrassed?Ornstein totally is easily embarassed.Smough isn’t. 18. What embarrasses them?Ornstein? Pretty much everything. Getting a cute nickname, doing something that could look funny, being watched if he does something he finds embarassing, staring at his scars etc. Smough doesn’t get embarassed at all, so this falls flat for him.22. How does jealousy manifest itself in them (they become possessive, they become aloof, etc)? Already answered this one (and it may have given life to Yandere Ornstein xD)34. How hard is it for them to shake a sense of guilt? It is really hard for Ornstein, he just can’t get rid of all his feelings of guilt. Smough helps him out a bit with it by reassuring that he isn’t at fault for everything bad that happened in his life.Smough can shake off guilt easier, but he can feel bad for a long time if he upsetted Ornstein.

Welp, I am so sorry. Yandere Ornstein sparked to life.  In a surprising turn of events, the Chosen Undead fell in love with Smough. And Smough is like “Hey, they won’t fight anymore, maybe we can work this out.” And Ornstein just gets over jealous at any attempt of CU hitting on Smough. And the best thing is, he can kill them as much as he wants, they keep coming back!

Managed to think a bit about Yandere Ornstein today.  He normally is really sweet when Smough is around, but the moment, the executioner puts his attention on something else, CU gets to see his true attitude at them.  He is also mostly acting like this, cause he is afraid of ending up alone and feels very lonely.

Jealous / yandere orn idea One of the butchers from the depths(who may or may not be man eater Mildred) comes to visit smough with there huge pet rat, and they talk about canabalism and recipes and such And orn is not jealous at first But then remembers smough had a wife and wonder if he would be happier off with a fellow cannibal

Hmmm...I haven’t really thought about if Smough knew other people outside his village who practiced cannibalism. But I can see this as a possibility.

I totally forgot to add the Yandere Ornstein AU! Yandere Ornstein -> Chosen Undead enters the boss room and somehow manages to fall in love with Smough and the fight stops.  Ornstein doesn’t like this... at ALL!

I am in the mood to share the various Dark Souls AUs I have come up with so far (or we, cause some of them are more of a team effort):

Modern AU -> This one is of course given, every medieval setting gets a modern AU. It is basically the characters in our modern world. I made the knights into cops for this.  Prisoner Ornstein AU -> Ornstein fells into disgrace and is awaitening execution for treason. While the executioner, Smough, at first is really eager to give pain to the man he hated so much, they start to fell in love somehow. This leads to… Dragon Ornstein AU -> An ending to the Prisoner Ornstein AU. Smough and Ornstein escape Lordran and search out NK, whom they follow to Arch Dragon Peak. Up there, Ornstein uses a Dragon Torso Stone to repent for his dragon slaying and changes into an uncomplete dragon form. Basically just a poly amorous relationship on Arch Dragon Peak. .Out of Armour AU -> Ornstein and Smough haven’t seen each other out of armour in the cathedral at all and hate each other. But they met in the human settlements and start to bond a relationship because they share a love for food without recognizing each other.  Prince Ornstein AU -> After kid NK gets kidnapped by dragons with no way to retrieve, Gwyn adopts the next best baby boy he can find to raise into a dragon slayer. Which happened to be Ornstein.  Painter AU -> In this AU, Ornstein never was the dragon slayer, he decided to be an travelling artist instead and makes most of his money with painting commissions of various nobles. He is starting to get sick and tired of it and would like to find his art spark again, when one day he sees NK performing a play and is fascinated by him at once.
