- He would definitely feel a twinge of jealousy with the specific group of audience you have since you're not that publicly known, it makes them more private and somehow that sour his pleasant train of thoughts whenever it cross his mind.

- Though, he's thankful you don't get exposed much to wide popularity since he doesn't want you to be getting that much spotlight. After all, you're one to be with the dark just like him, right? He would only want you all for himself for the most part he could get your attention.

- In a way, your overall theme reminds him of his certain someone (if the scope of genre is akin to punk rock, metal or anything similar), Ritsu could use it to his advantage for Rei—casually implying that even an underground singer he's a loyal fan of is thousand times better than his bothersome older brother in general, just to jab it where it hurts him the most or pushing him to get all jealous.

- You aren't that much of an exception for that kind of treatment, still. He makes it an inside joke or references in conversations if there's someone else with you two and especially if you would need to keep it a secret from the others. Oh, he would enjoy himself a lot when that could get a reaction out of you.

- If it isn't obvious enough after you have tried to hide it from him, the truth is Ritsu would feel mostly hurt inside for that fact. Even though you should've known about how much he opens up and gets comfortable with you by now to let him be there for you. Like he cares if you're an underground singer or not, you're stuck with him he would stick with you whatever the circumstances.

Izumi Sena

Since this man has already juggle the schedules of his idol work and modeling jobs, he would focus more about the fact that sometimes you seem tired out of nowhere and even staying up late with reasons of doing important projects. He gets more overbearing, would force scold you to take care of yourself more, sleep early more often or you'll have to tell him what you've been doing like he's probably thinking you're up to some fishy things going on with an illegal group or something. Really insufferable for him to know there's a hidden thing about you and it bugs him so much that he's kept up at some nights wondering.

You really thought you're so sneaky and he would just brush it off, huh? Well, that's where your mistake lays. With his persistence of watching you more closely that he might or might not put a voice recorder taped in your room from an unknown spot. After having gathered enough intel, he would finally follow you out to some place he has an inkling of where the place is.

Either from a backstage or a place where he can see you up close, he's cheering for you in a lovestruck gaze complete with a phone discreetly recording and taking pictures once you arrive on the stage. You simply are breathtaking, leaving him almost tearing up, it's like he fell in love all over again with the same already charming girl who stole his heart.

Your attention would be on him no matter what that you fumble on your lyrics and trying not mind him with your whole might (fail) while keeping up a professional performance—all at once.

- Izumi is totally having a field day out of it. He would soon nitpick on parts of your performance you need to improve in the first chance he could get. You've still got a long way from the 'competency test and assessment' he gave if you could still get distracted by even his presence, after all.

- At the same time, he would express what he thought in a cool mocking confident attitude about how you color him suprised that your passion can be felt through your hard effort as if he didn't just look like a die-hard fan.

- He doesn't even care anymore about how you were hiding it from him, since he was able to welcome himself very easily into this another part of your life.

- The revelation would give him an ego boost and he's even prouder now to have you as his s/o (he already has a whole album and collection about you anyway). You proved yourself worth of his support, it goes without saying, he would give you advice with valid points that still consider your ideas or feedbacks of course.

- He's quite strict in making sure you don't overwork yourself. Like if you look tired or anything, do it in a place he couldn't see it so he wouldn't be bothered and minding your business (which would be quite impossible because he monitors you closely). Though, it's a living contradiction when he also doesn't let you to slack off too much.

- Not even your audience or longtime fans are safe from his watchful eyes, they would have to pass his selective evaluation. Still, he wouldn't stop your rise of popularity or anything.

- Overall, Izumi would only check how things are progressing with your singing career and butt in every so often when it goes out of track. Just let him have the right to keep your life in check, it's that simple.

Why The Mad Hatter Character Fits Izumi Sena So Well

I said I’d to a whole essay on this and I’m here to do so. Obviously this counts as a headcanon for this as an rp account. But I’m tagging it with the character in general, because it is something that other IzumiP’s might want to read. Or I at least hope so. I’ve got piles of books next to me for this.

So, let’s start off with the basics. The Mad Hatter was a character from Alice In Wonderland and Alice Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll. They were originally published in the Victorian times.

Due to the time of writing, it’s often thought that the Mad Hatter was mad due to his profession. Hatters would commonly wind up with mercury poisoning, which could also affect their brain. There’s no confirmation of this within the text. Especially when you consider Wonderland to be a very whimsical world.

The modern adaptation of the Hatter has often taken on a darker tone. Rarely is he shown as whimsical, instead his pride and bad attitude are lifted from the book and instead you tend to find a much more attractive, and sometimes quite brooding character. The possible mental instability also remains, so Hatter is often a dangerous character. From Jefferson in Once Upon a Time, to Blood Dupre in the Alice in the Country Of series, The Mad Hatter is often seen as a character that you don’t want to mess with.

Now, you might be wondering, how does all this relate to Izumi. As a character, Izumi is both incredibly popular but also commonly hated. He’s proud, is supposed to be a yandere but often presents more as tsundere and is often rude to those many consider to be innocent. Sound familiar?

Here are some quotes from the original book that wouldn’t sound strange coming out of Izumi’s mouth.

“Your hair wants cutting,” said the Hatter. He had been looking at Alice for some time with great curiousity, and this was his first speech.

“You can draw water out of a water-well,” said the Hatter; ‘so I think you could draw treacle out of a treacle-well- eh, stupid?”

“I don’t think-”

“Then you shouldn’t talk,” said the Hatter.

This piece of rudeness was more than Alice could bear.

As well as that, Hatter enraged Time at a concert for the Queen of Hearts where he was singing on stage. Now, I imagine he wasn’t supposed to be a good singer, but it does highlight that the character was a performer.

So with the Hatter we have a blunt, rude character who has been known to take a turn on the stage and has made important figures mad. The character already fits Izumi.

Now, moving onto the modern interpretations. 

I’ve mentioned how they’re often quite dark, and there are definitely those that fit the yandere trope quite well. These are characters who have quite often lost something and are mad about it. Something has pushed them to brink where others might decry them as ‘mad’ even if their actual mental health isn’t in question. Something has happened to them to make them a ticking time bomb.

That is something we have with Izumi.

We know he’s a difficult character. We know he still holds onto his anger from the war-era. We know he feels guilty about Leo, and there’s also his relationship with Makoto where he’s vastly trying to overcompensate it.

These are aspects of his character which haven’t really been touched in the !! era though. Though Izumi has seemingly moved on from a lot of it, there are definite aspects that he never had closure on. We’ve seen that he still hates Eichi in Sudden Death and the guilt over Leo was still somewhat there in Next Door. Which is the whole reason he dragged him back to Italy with him. 

There is a darkness and a selfishness to Izumi and he feels terrible about it. He has regrets in the past, he has somewhat experienced loss and the way he reacts to things often has people looking at him like he’s strange because he does overcompensate.

At the end of the On the Beautiful Golden Drop music video, we had Izumi pull a horrible face. As someone who likes to be seen as beautiful, this might seem hilarious and out of character. But it works for the role he’s playing. A role he might see as fitting of him. And we also know from Butlers that when it comes to acting he’ll take as many takes as he need to present the character exactly right. So this could just be part of the role. And hell, the Euthanasia story and Little Romance didn’t exactly line up.

But other character stories and center songs since have.

Naru dealt with her feelings for Kunigi and we had a Swan Lake theme for Mystic Fragrance.

Leo’s story for Coruscate Breeze was about how he’s struggling less because he has his friends around and he’s healing. The song and the video was cute, and fun.

So it would make sense that for this Izumi center that we’re dealing with his darker side again. And the Mad Hatter is a great way to showcase this.

We have a beautiful man who sometimes shows an ugly side, who’s mental stability is maybe a little questionable who has lost something in the past and is still dealing with that anger. But hey, he’s still moving around the table, so it doesn’t really matter if someone else gets a worse end of the stick.

This could be great for Izumi and we could see him begin to move on and heal from some things.

But we could also see him go in the other direction, as the Hatter often does, and that too is very exciting.

love your addition to the scenario with the knights! izumi being a total tsun about your affection but then doing a whole 360° and flexing all the affection your giving to him to the others makes me laugh. oh, and i know this was a day after your response but i enjoy sending in scenarios! btw, i'll try not to make any future scenarios i send in (too) long lol. also this is before any of them decided to kidnap you, so i hope this pre-kidnapping scenario is okay!

anyways, imagine (yandere) knights finding out your dating someone. again, you can use anyone you want for this scenario (or not even use this scenario at all! i just thought it would be cool to add on to how they found out!) but i'm just gonna go with ritsu <3 okay, so, darling is just cuddling with ritsu, sitting in comfortable silence until ritsu notices something while darling is petting his hair. it's a ring, which slowly peeks his interest. when did you get a ring? he's never seen you wear one before...and he certainly doesn't recall anyone from knights giving you one.

so, he decides to ask about it. "oh! it's a promise ring my partner gave me!" you say casually, going back to petting his hair and missing the look of slight surprise on his face. when did you get a partner?? why didn't you tell him- why didn't you tell the others? and how didn't he know to begin with? he's always clinging to you, so how was it even possible for someone to even talk to you without getting uncomfortable and leaving from his clinginess whenever someone would approach??

despite all the questions racing in his mind, he doesn't comment on it. all he wanted to do was have a peaceful nap with his darling and now this sudden piece of information is revealed and he doesn't even know what to do with himself. he nuzzles into his darling's thigh and just decides to wait. this sounds like something his future self and the knights can handle, he just wants to cuddle with his darling...

eventually though, he does end up telling the others about this...and boy are they upset. some of them have a more easier time hiding their anger (arashi, tsukasa but it's kinda obvious that he's holding himself back, and ritsu) but the others aren't so good at doing so (leo and izumi too, but i feel like he wouldn't be as loud and going off on a tangent like leo would do but would instead scoff and murmur how rude it was for their darling to do something like this).

i'll let you expand on what they would do after/how they would react in finding out if you want! this actually became longer than my first submission so i hope that isn't a problem! anyways, i hope you enjoy this little idea of mine!!

I think you´re right when you say that Ritsu would be the best ( or I guess worst in a way) person to learn of this. He´s probably the most jealous and clingy person of all of them. Like he´s so so upset because darling belongs to him them! How could some other person just weasel their way into his darling´s heart like that without any of them noticing? Ritsu especially is almost always with you so it´s honestly kind of a miracle this even happened?

Not a good one though. I also think it´s very likely that he wouldn´t try to make a huuuge deal out of it in front of you? First of all, getting worked up is a bunch of effort that he can´t be bothered with and also he just kinda tries to push the entire issue to the back of his mind and not try to think about it too much.

Being abandoned by you is one of Ritsus ultimate fears and one of the main catalysts to make him go yandere so to see this actually happen? To have you slip from his fingers without being able to do anything about it and not even noticing for such a long time? It´s a nightmare he wishes he could wake up from

I guess this is one of the few instances where Ritsu is actually glad that the other Knights are just as obsessed with you as he is? He feels pretty powerless on his own and so it´s nice to have others he can rely on for once. They would not stand for you being stolen away from you either and he knows that very well

And boy oh boy, he´s not wrong at all for thinking that. Once he tells the others about what he found out, that you somehow have a partner, they all flip. Some more obviously than others.

Leo is the poster-boy of “losing his fucking mind, screaming and throwing a tantrum”. They can barely hold him back from just straight up running out of the door and running straight towards you when he finds out. No!! How could you? How could THEY?! How dare this other person try and get close to his muse? He´s not going to stand for it! He´s finally found someone that appreciates him for his personality and not only for the songs he composes, you´re so so special to him!

He can´t just let someone else steal you away, that´s not how things are supposed to go. If he finds whoever that person is that thinks they´re good enough to call themselves your partner ( and thinks they´re good enough to marry you!!! one day), he´s going to beat the crap out of them. Izumi is right there beside him, seemingly unable to stop himself from ranting about how this absolutely unacceptable and how could you ever let something like that happen. Just who is this person that somehow caught your fancy? They can´t be that special. It´s honestly ridiculous, you got one of the most popular and successfull idol groups out there, including two whole-ass models, fawning over you and you choose some nobody to be your partner?

Honestly, Izumi is insulted. He´s feeling not quite as murderous as Leo is but he´s pretty close. He tries to act all calm about it but he really isn´t. Everyone can tell in how bad of a mood he´s in and he´s super snippy to anyone that tries to talk to him or calm him down. His anger is boiling and he´s just so done with everything

Izumi is most likely the one to propose the idea of kidnapping. It´s his area of expertise by now and he really doesn´t know how else to deal with this situation. I feel this just in general would be the trigger for them to consider kidnapping and sharing you. Before this, they mostly tried to keep you for themselves in a free-for-all but when they feel so threatened by these news, they can´t do anything but work together or none of them will get to have you in the end

Tsukasa meanwhile tries to be the voice of reason, telling them that they shouldn´t get so upset off the bat, that they should stay calm and talk about this to figure out a plan and how it´s all going to work out.

Keyword “tries”. Anyone can tell with just a simple look that he´s internally screaming, incredibly distraught and panicking at the fact that you were being taken away, that he was too late to win your heart. He was always such a perfect gentleman, taking care of you and making sure you were getting the admiration you deserved. He was like a puppy in love, always trailing behind you and making promises that he would always stay by your side. He had truly hoped that you too would keep your end of the bargain, that you would choose him and be with him forever.

And now this was happening. Some evil creature had come and deceived you into thinking you loved them and now of course it was his duty as your personal knight to protect you and slay the evil monster!

Except, well, he can´t really do that, can he? No, he has to try and hold himself back, he has to be mature about this! You wouldn´t approve of him being some sort of brute that solves all of his problems with violence. How could you ever love him if he acted like that?

So instead, with a shaky voice ( he´s barely holding himself back from throwing a tantrum) he asks Ritsu if he knows anything else about your so-called “partner” that they could use somehow. Gets incredily more frustrated when the other says that he really doesn´t know anything except that they gave you a promise ring.

That information alone is enough to make Tsukasa drop his guard for a moment, there´s such a large scowl on his phase when Ritsu mentions this fact. He´s despairing and in agony and he doesn´t know what to do, oh god this can´t be happening-

Arashi is probably the calmest in this type of situation, you´re right. Obviously she´s angry and distraught over the news but she realizes that they can´t accomplish anything by just losing their mind. They´re lacking the information to really do anything, no? They can´t exactly just ask every single person they come across if they´re dating you and then beat them up if they happen to say anything in the affirmative.

She proposes the scandalous idea that she could just have a talk with you and ask you about the ring you´re wearing and then skillfully get as much information about your partner out of you as she can. She´s very talkative and interested in what you do anyway and she´s known to be passionate about love so it´s not like it´s very strange for her to act like that.

notes: my first original post... i do hope you'll all enjoy it! i was inspired by @yandere-daze and their works to begin my blog, so i dedicate this post to them as a thank you–! i hope you all enjoy...

oh, dear tsukasa... he only wants the best for his darling. you mean so much to him! how can he make sure you won't suddenly disappear? that you'll stay with him always?

tsukasa loves to bring you snacks. the way to one's heart is through the stomach, isn't it? and look how happy you get whenever he asks you to try a new sweet with him... besides, you seem to eat too fast to indulge yourself, or you get too busy to eat.

it starts as a weekly thing, where he only tries to bring you out to this café or the other, spending hours with you until sun down. if you miss a day, he asks you spend more time with him. well, he's the youngest of his unit... maybe he's scared to be left behind by his unitmates? so you agree.

but it gets worse. he asks to go out every day after classes, and gets visibly distraught when rejected. at lunch, he won't let you sit anywhere without him. you don't need to help any other units or do your work, open your mouth so he can give you some cake!

you know you have to put your foot down and tell him to back off once he starts meeting you outside your door, asking to walk with you to class. you never told him where you were staying, so how did he know...?!

oh, but telling him no, telling him to leave and give you space to breathe... he would sniffle as he fights back frustration in tears. no, it won't end. you can't spend time with anyone else or you won't be fed and cared for how he cares for you! why would you want him to leave? if you won't allow him to stay, he'll force you to. don't make it harder than it has to be, darling.

the rope is coarser than it looks, and his family has estates far out of range of that cute phone of yours.

you'll never be free of the feeling you're being watched. between classes, you know you see someone watching from the corner of your eye. while helping other units, you check over your shoulder, sound in the feeling that someone had just been staring at you. it goes so far that if you fall asleep, you awake because there's eyes on you, and you know it. but nobody is ever there when you jolt yourself awake.

you felt safe running to your room each day, finally able to relax without the exhaustion of worrying about whatever was chasing you. ritsu often texts you a lot before you fall asleep. it's comfortable for you, knowing he's on the other side of the screen, keeping you company until you drift off. you always wake up to a few messages of confusion as to why you aren't replying before getting a sweet goodnight text from him.

but suddenly, everything spirals to hell. you wake up suddenly one night to the sound of something slamming shut. you look to your window to see your screen is missing, and you shudder, just knowing that whomever has been watching you found your one safe place. you go to school early that morning, having found yourself unable to sleep.

ritsu notices right away that you're exhausted. he offers to help you skip class to nap, as he knows the best places to hide. you agree without hesitation, and as you walk together to wherever location he's decided on, you tell him about the odd feeling of being watched, and that the stalker had gotten into your room that night. ritsu says that it's likely nerves from overworking yourself.

the place he led you to was the school garden, which was almost uncomfortably empty. you notice a small table with three chairs and a teaset out, and ritsu guides you to sit down. the teaclub met there without him, but there was some left, he said. you were too tired to question, and the tea might help you sleep, after all.

you're nearly finished with your mug when you realize how dizzy you feel. ritsu stands by your side to catch you as you fall to the side, eyes fluttering as they struggle to say open. he apologizes to you, and says that he had to make sure you didn't wake up on the way 'home'. there's a bright screen before you, and when your hazy eyes focus, you realize he's shown you a picture of yourself sleeping that he has on his phone. you're just so cute, darling. he knows how much everyone pressures you to baby them, so it's his turn to baby you.

mikarin won't mind a secret third roommate as long as you promise not to make much noise.

trying to understand izumi felt impossible sometimes. the way he would degrade the ones around him, then get upset when they were hurt by his words... it was a while later you realized he never insulted you. well, not as badly as he did everyone else. a simple 'stupid' or 'annoying' here and there, but never anything as harsh as what the rest of the world heard. you decide that you'll keep your eye on izumi, as something felt off by his behavior. the fact he wasn't insulting towards you reminded you of his obsession with yuuki. nobody wanted that for themselves. sorry, yuuki, but take one for the team?

you reach into your bag at lunch, looking for your makeup pouch. arashi had noted that your foundation was thin, and your blush was fading. but in looking for the pouch, you noticed it was gone. you made a note to check for it once home since arashi decided she wanted to fix your makeup in her style, anyway.

once you got home and began looking for the pouch, you noticed that a lot of things were missing. sunglasses, pictures, a few books... you couldn't think straight enough to tally everything and shudder. someone had been stealing from you. for how long? why? how? you become defensive and don't replace anything that was taken unless it was absolutely necessary. you hold your things with you at all times, and get obviously cautious when someone asks about it.

izumi notices immediately that you begin to be more tense. it takes him a while to convince himself that it's a general sense of weariness, not targeted at him. but you stare at him more these days. have you caught onto him? he flicks your nose for it one day and tells you to stop being so on edge, because it drags everyone down. you hold your nose with shaky eyes. izumi hopes you don't notice the guilt he feels.

some weeks later, you get home late due to practice with another unit running late. you enter your room and scream when you see izumi rolling around in your bed, face pressed into your pillow. he rushes you, forcing your back to the door as he covers your face with the pillow. he easily overpowers you and pins you there with his body. it was so cruel of you to leave him to little to remind himself of you. he had to start taking from your laundry basket because anything else would've been noticed immediately! did you notice, by the way, that he had been using your makeup to feel closer to you? your lipgloss tastes like you.

darling, you really shouldn't drive him so mad... he won't always be so nice to you if you're cruel to him.

could you ask for a better friend than arashi? she felt magic sometimes, you swear. she always knew just what to say to lift your spirits. she always knew the best little gifts to surprise you with. really, it was almost scary how well she knew you and could take care of you. of course, that was just how she was, right? everyone loves her for it, so there's really no reason to worry.

your jewelry box fills up quickly with the little trinkets she'd give you from her photoshoots. your closet, too, as modeling always sparked her desire to shop. and shopping is no fun alone! it was almost as if she was always looking at things for your size and never her own... she can tailor anything she finds for herself regardless of size, so don't think too much about it! you nod nervously, but still, something nags at you and you can't tell what it is.

whenever pretty 5 could meet, arashi began to drag you along, as well. to a point where the other members began to comment on it. why was the producer here? they aren't doing idol work, so they don't need a manager right now. arashi doesn't like this at all. so instead of meeting with them, she'll just go on cute dates alone with you! you frown, but she seems to have convinced herself that this was fine before you could argue.

people begin to avoid you, as when they got close, arashi would soon appear to cling to your arm and invite herself into whatever situation was the topic of conversation. you feel suffocated by her. when you grow short with her, she panics, and offers to shower you with more gifts to make it up to you. or maybe you want her to do your makeup so you can touch each other more? oh, oh, maybe you want to do a photoshoot together so everyone around the world can see you two together!

huh, space? you want her to back off? oh, darling, that won't do at all. her face falls flat, and your body shakes. she walks closer to you as the warning bell sounds, and you whimper that you have class. who needs class, though? her palms slam against the wall near your head, and she leans in until your noses are barely touching.

you don't need anything but her, so she won't be going anywhere.

you're just in time! leo runs up to you as you enter the practice room. he had texted you that it was an emergency, so you need to meet him here immediately. of course you would rush over! all that he wanted, really, was to show you his newest composition. he sung it for you as you tried not to get mad at him. he was weird, that was all... he didn't mean any harm, but he seems to lack awareness.

it became a constant thing. begging you to come find wherever it is he's run off to, or bursting into any room you're in to show you his newest song. they're all inspired by you, so please listen to them! it scares you how he always seems to know where you are, but he never hears you out when you ask. he brushes off the concern as an extra sense for you, since you're his muse after all. as odd as it is, part of you wamts to believe it's part of his charm, so you make yourself ignore it.

you draw a line in the sand when he bursts into your class to disrupt you, and you drag him out by the wrist after apologizing to your teacher. you tell leo he has to stop chasing you all over and he has to wait to share his music with you. he whines and tries to plead, telling you how much he loves you and has to share everything with you. you're the only reason he continues to make music! without him, he'll run away and never come back! you wince. he can't keep this up-! how did it get this bad?

you're snapped from your thoughts when he wraps his arms around you and begins to drag you down the hallway. you fight back, and he bites you as a warning. he needs you, darling. and if you won't let him come visit, he'll have to steal you away. his family will love you, and his sister can keep you company if he really needs to leave for any reason.

just stay so you can be his muse forever, and he can serenade you for the rest of your lives!

the most theatric idol group of yumenosaki high, knights, has their eyes set on you. it’s an uncomfortable situation to be in, but your diligence and hard work has their hearts tangled up in a twist. and as soon as they realize that they have to compete with each other for your affection, your situation turns from bad to worse.

 their king holds an unnecessary meeting about this and while everyone in the unit knows this entire meeting is just going to be him acting like a toddler, they still go anyway.

leo, as expected, is pouting and whining. isn’t he the king? by hierarchical status, you are already automatically his. izumi has to swat his head and remind him that he isn’t actually a real king and that japan is a parliamentary government. the composer is quick to stick his tongue out—of course, he knows that! but leo keeps finding excuses to steer them away from your direction and no one is really swayed by his words when he’s grumbling underneath the warmth of the kotatsu as he peels oranges.

izumi mouths off as he leans against the wall. how annoying~ can any of these losers back off? obviously he’s the one you’re most interested in. didn’t they see the way you blushed when he approached you the other day? and so cutely too! izumi grins as he remembers the way you averted your eyesyou’re your little shriek when he put his face too closely to yours. isn’t that all the proof they need?

with steam blowing out of his ears, tsukasa stands up from the kotatsu to remind his senpai that that is not the correct way to treat a girl. by all means, he boldly declares, shouldn’t he be the one to take his lady’s hand? out of all these people, he’s been the one to stand by his lady’s side the longest! he shuts out ritsu’s correction that it was actually trickstar who’s been with her for the longest. that doesn’t matter! he’s been putting so much effort into seducing her with his cutesy act! he’s not going to let these people take her away!

ritsu shuts out izumi and tsukasa’s bickering as he sleepily dozes off under the kotatsu. mmm, this really doesn’t compare to the comfort of your soft lap. he’s daydreaming of a happy family with you and mao. won’t that be the best? ritsu the husband and you and mao as his two devoted wives, fussing over him after he comes back from work. he makes a sleepy mental note to take this up with mao soon, knowing just how taken mao is with you too.

clasping her compact mirror shut, arashi rolls her eyes at everyone’s gimmicks. honestly, these brute boys really don’t know how to win their way into a woman’s heart. when izumi asks her why she should know better, arashi proclaims that she is a girl too, after all! she knows what’s best for her cute producer! you’d be the best couple ever, wearing cute things and looking cute together! her soft producer isn’t going to be seduced by these deplorable boys, never!

the entire room is a mess. leo, tsukasa, and izumi engaged in a silly battle over who seduced producer best, ritsu dozing off, and arashi packing her things before heading out to go meet with producer.

 “can’t we just keep her for a bit to ourselves?” ritsu’s sleepy voice suggests, muffled a bit by the kotatsu’s thick cloth, but it stops everyone in the room nonetheless. tsukasa’s a bit conflicted by the suggestion, but leo and izumi are totally up for it. arashi ponders about it for a bit, but this is too good of an offer to pass up. with an outcome of 4 versus one, the honorable knights go on their way.

 izumi and arashi are the ones who keep you beautiful and well-dressed. the two models switch up your looks every day, as if you’re nothing more than a doll to them. izumi assures you that you aren’t with a soft smile that you’ve only ever seen being directed to makoto. arashi applies a little bit of blush and pecks a fond kiss on your cheek. aren’t you just the prettiest? they cook you food and baby you together, but that’s where the similarities end. arashi is gentle, a bit possessive, but gentle, although you don’t like the dark look in her eyes when you say something wrong. izumi is demanding and belittling, the one to wipe the tears away after he’s bullied you. it’s a play of good cop and bad cop, but you’re not quite sure on who’s good.

 leo swings by every day without fail, bringing stacks of paper for him to compose on. you are his muse after all! how can anyone expect him to compose when he can’t see you? he hums to you and sings lyrics of your kindness and diligence. they come off as fanatical and borderline crazy and the rest of the knights tell him so. leo pouts but writes new ones anyway. leo kisses you everywhere like it’s the last day of his life. he’s just so smitten with you! it’s really hard to keep his hands off you.

 despite everyone’s protests, ritsu brings mao along to meet with you. the mao you knew would’ve hurried and called the police once he confirmed your kidnapping, but he only looked you up and down appreciatively as he took in your dolled-up appearance. ritsu, finding solace in your company, takes a nap on your lap. you hear that the rest of trickstar has been searching nonstop for you along with the rest of the academy, but ritsu can honestly give less of a damn. you’re his to keep, why should he bother sharing?

 tsukasa brings you cakes and sweets every day. he’s really sorry, really, that you were caught up in all of this, but you take note of how tsukasa isn’t doing anything to release you. when you ask, tsukasa sheepishly scratches the back of his neck. well… if you were at the academy, he’d have less time with you. but now that you’re here all alone, with him and him alone, isn’t this a dream come true. the queen he’s sworn to protect is now his to hold and cherish! he simply won’t stand for anyone else tarnishing you with their touch!

 of course, the fight for your heart still goes on. no one’s sure what’s going to happen in the future, but if they’re the ones who gets you in the end, they don’t really care.

 their producer has been taking care of them from the start, it’s high time they repay their debt.

        oh, you’ve really done it. you don’t exactly know what it is, but based on the look izumi was giving you as you two walked to his car, you know that you’ve done it. his grip on your wrist is bone-crushing and his steps are far too fast for you to keep up with, but he doesn’t care. you don’t dare speak, knowing he’ll likely only tell you to shut up and walk. izumi certainly wasn’t the most amiable person on the planet, but he never acted like this towards you; you were, to say the least, terrified.

you were snapped out of your thoughts by him slamming you against his car. your back stung and your wrists were restrained on either side of your torso.

“tell me, (y/n),” he began, his voice dripping with venom, “what the hell was that?”

your eyebrows furrowed, “wha- what was what?” he sighed in vexation at your words.

“you know exactly what i mean, don’t play dumb. who was that idiot you were getting all cozy with? touching him and talking to him like that… are you cheating on me?” izumi was getting angrier and angrier the more he thought about it.

“what… you mean my friend? who i’ve been friends with for years?” your eyes began to sting with tears at his baseless accusations. “listen to yourself! why would i ever cheat on you?”

these accusations, however, were anything but new. you were almost used to it; izumi had a tendency to get overwhelmed with jealousy and rage at anyone who dared to speak to you. no matter how much you protested, he’d never listen.

izumi’s hold on your wrists tightened, his eyebrows knitting together with anger. “i don’t care how long you’ve been ‘friends!’ you’re mine. can you get that through your thick skull? or do i have to show you?” he growled lowly. “is that what you want? for me to mark you up so badly that nobody will even come near you?”

“izumi! stop it! just- stop and calm down-”

“oh, like hell i’ll calm down. you have to learn to face consequences for your actions, darling.” he whispered the pet name in your ear, making your eyes squeeze shut. “hah. that got you to shut up, didn’t it? all i have to do is yank on your collar and you’ll back off, won’t you? you’re all bark and no bite.”

your jaw clenched as his lips trailed on the base of your neck, teeth gently scraping down it. he thought back to the smile on your face as you spoke to someone else, the way your hand so casually brushed their shoulder, everything about the way you interacted with him. a whole new wave of possessiveness washed over him, and he suddenly bit down, surely bruising the sensitive skin.

“i-izumi! we- we’re in public…!”

god. the blush on your cheeks and your anxious stammers were irresistible.

“are you dumb? do you think i care?” he scoffed, “if anything, that makes it better. maybe that jackass will see, and they’ll know who you belong to.”

just like you had done it, you knew you were in for it, too.

But god can you imagine if you're unlucky enough to get your favorite being self aware? Considering that they feed into your obsession and knowing you sort of have an "in" to the code to cheat and have the bargaining chip of "I could literally end your existence this minute if I so wish <3" how bad can that get for both parties involved? It would be so toxic and such a nightmare to try and get out of, especially if the self-aware "bug" can spread to something else, but somehow you still maintain the ability to make them stop by destroying your phone and getting rid of the app for good.

But also after so much time spent with them can you really bring yourself to do it? If it wasn't for the screen they would basically be a human being. And in a way the screen is both a blessing and a curse, because with it there is a guarantee that at least they won't be able to hurt you physically. But also when it gets to be too much since that side of their screen is their everything, would you really be able to end what is basically a human life minus the physical body?

Omg... you brought up some amazing points, I had to take a bit to properly think about it. I looked at this series of asks and thought "Oo, good I can rant a bit here and use that as warm-up for my actual writing" and then. I spend two hours writing this response.

Cut for length + yandere is smth I write as a horror trope and don't seek to romanticise, neither do I see it as romantic. The player in this case is a bit of a badass, tho

So, like, if you have the (bad? good?) luck of your fave gaining self-awareness, that'd definitely be something. I assume the, I forgot the proper saying, rose-tinted glasses? might worsen your way of dealing with it, because it's your fave and they're telling you things like, "Only look at me" and "You don't need anyone but me" and "I'd do anything for you" and "I'll kill whoever you try to put in my spot on the homescreen" and so on, and so on. And I couldn't blame you if you, especially considering you'd likely believe these are just new lines (maybe happyele is trying to appeal to the yume base, yknow?), decided to treat it as something charming or even attractive. After all, it's just fiction, they can't hurt you, so seeing those lines in a game would sooner be met with "Oh, they're passionate about me" instead of the restraining order a real person would (and should) get as response.

So you have your favourite getting so attached to you, exclaiming their love for you so directly, it's as if they're as obsessed with you as you are with them. You might even start playing more often just to see all the new lines - but suddenly the character gets sad, they look disappointed. They ask you if you think they're just a character. Of course, you don't respond. Why would you, it's a game. But the character frowns a bit deeper than you've ever seen on these models, does a movement that's just a little too lifelike, and repeats the question. This time, adding an, "I gained access to your microphone a week ago; you can answer me. I'll hear you." Whether you take the bait or don't doesn't matter, they are hellbent on proving to you that they have a consciousness and awareness. They talk to you about the events, the way you play, how much you play... They tell you how happy they are because they noticed you were only pulling for their cards. How happy they are that you're grinding their event. Because all they want is to be your number one, and that's exactly the proof that they are.

And then their event scout comes along and you have no dia. You're sad - you want their cards so bad! They're your favourite, and that card is so cute! They can't stand to see you sad, so they work so, so hard. "I'd do anything for you," they reassure you as your dia count rises. And at this point you realise... this could be mutually beneficial. You continue showering this character in love and praise, vocally cooing over their outfits, cards, SPPs, music, and so on. Not a hard thing to do, considering they're your favourite anyway, but this time you're throwing them some rewards for their help. And they bask in this attention, and they keep up messing with the code to give you currency, score boosts, extra event points, better item drops, faster BP/AP and work ticket regen... It feels like cheating, but you're happy, the pixel is happy, and happyele hasn't killed your account for hacking, so it's fine, right?

And so starts quite the toxic little symbiotic relationship. Really, the character has no influence on your physical world, the only thing they have is their words. They live for you and because of you, and you know it. But, hey, nobody has just one favourite. So, maybe one day you ask for a little extra dia, for your second fave. And they refuse, saying that the deal was they give you dia that you spend on them only. It's a pixel. You don't need to feel bad for it. So you tell it, no. The deal was they give you dia and you don't factory reset your phone to get rid of them. This goes one of a few ways.

Characters like Mayoi and Mika are quick to bow down and shut up. To "Yes, Producer, sorry, Producer" and do whatever you ask of them. In fact, they apologise for even assuming they'd be able to stay as your only one without any work. They continue giving you whatever you ask of them, all the while trying to give you sweeter and sweeter words, trying to get on your good side again, to make up for their speaking out of turn. They vocally worship you, and end every conversation by thanking you and begging you to not take them off the homescreen. These are the best ones you can get stuck with, if you're okay with thinking of them as just pixels, because they'll allow you do anything, really.

Others, like Eichi, Izumi and Madara, will not call your bluff, but they only give you the barest of minimums, with nothing but threats that they will make you regret your disloyalty. But they can't do anything, so you'll be fine, probably. They treat you coldly for the duration of events and banners you work for that aren't theirs, but they're quick to turn back to their usual "loving" self the moment you give up, praising you for it. These guys will become much more verbally abusive when they're upset with you, so your best choice might really be to wipe them before it starts negatively affecting your day-to-day life.

Those like Shu, HiMERU and Natsume give you the silent treatment. They leave you your dia, sure, but they leave the homescreen. If you only had them there, you're met with silence and only the background for as long as you're trying for another character. An empty textbox, it really looks like it just glitched out. In Shu's and Natsume's cases, they leave because they don't want to say something extreme. They don't think you'd actually get rid of them, but they refuse to risk, and so they leave to cool off before one impulsive sentence ruins them. HiMERU similarly doesn't want to show you his brash side, but that's more to do with him wanting to keep up his image rather than not wanting to call your bluff. Don't worry, though, these types are very angry. They'll find a way to pay you back. These guys are okay, but if pushed too far can jump either to the previous category, or the one below.

And then those like Tori, Hiyori and Ritsu. They throw a fit. They're almost screaming at you, they don't care about any "second" favourites, THEY should be your ONLY favourite. They're not giving you the dia. You will not convince them, no, even if you threaten to wipe your phone. "Do it, I'd rather die than hand you over to someone else." is their response. And they're not bluffing, either. They do leave you with a, "But you'll have a much harder time without my help, especially now that you're used to it," so do reconsider. These guys have a truly enviable sense of entitlement and amount of self-confidence. You'll have to either be happy with only getting other characters' cards through luck in pulling on your "fave"'s banners or starting from scratch on a fresh account, hopefully devoid of weird, frankly game-breaking, bugs like this. These are the most frustrating ones to be stuck with, but if you're happy with only them, they're happy (and more importantly, docile).

But no matter which character you get stuck with, you'll probably be hit by the moral dilemma of whether you should wipe your save or not often. There's multiple aspects to it. Firstly, you're cheating. Feel bad for the devs. Secondly, if this is a living being, you're kinda taking advantage of it. Even though it mistreats you, even bullies and abuses you at times, you're still manipulating it and playing with its feelings and existential fear by threatening it to give you what you want. Do two wrongs make a right? Would you still treat it that way if it wasn't as creepy and obsessed with you? Thirdly, the whole situation gives you the creeps. It mentioned having access to your mic. What else can it access? How much info does it know about you? Even if you ask it, it can just lie and say it's only awake when you're playing, you can't prove something like "what they don't know", but for all you know they're rifling through your bank account and photo gallery while you're sleeping and then acting stupid when you ask them about it. Even the meek ones know what lies they can tell you without you ever finding out the truth.

But, then you gotta think. You might have a breakthrough in AI and computing on your hands. A fully conscious something sitting in your little gacha game. It could pass the Turing test easily, and it shows genuine emotions, complex ones, even. Disappointment, infatuation, sadness, anger, frustration, even empathy whenever you'd rant to them. Could you really destroy something like that? Even if it's a bug, it's something people thought of as nearly impossible, as sci-fi, the least you can do is maintain it, keep it alive until you can find a way for them to be extracted, examined, treated as lab specimens. But, well, not all of them would be happy with that, so maybe keep it to yourself if your end goal is to bring about a new era of technology.
