1. didn't really say anything when jay were posting their fics. since they agreed with us on the topic of kaeloo fics with nsfw but still were posting them, i figured out that there was not point in arguing. i just ignored the weird parts of the stories or simply didnt read anything. i dont like conflicts, and had a lot going on (still do), so i didnt speak about it before. thats my bad though: even if jay wouldnt have cared because they have a different opinion than me about aging up characters apparently, i shouldve said something whenever i had the chance and not only when the subject of fics with porn was brought up, and i take full responsibility. but you must know that i do not support those type of works and never have said that i do. whenever we spoke about it, i made it very clear that it was gross and that i dont agree with it at all. to tlak about jay's fics again, i mostly was enthusiastic about all the parts where sex wasnt involved (about the ss of me talking about jays fic about pregnancy, i loved seeing how mr cat and kae would act as soon-to-be parents ! i think its cute !! do not mean that i agree with writing full scenes about how that child is made).

2. didnt write really big responses in the STM. this is a server about kaeloo. the drama isnt really brought up there, except when its important or at the start of it. with college, job, family issues and the start of adulthood soon, i do not have time to be on discord in the first place. either im here for a brief moment, or i can be active when everyone is asleep so they already said everything i had in mind and all i can say is "yes" to messages i agree with and "no" to messages i dont. you do not know me, and if you genuinely believe that this is all i think about what is happening, then you're just extremely stupid...obv i wont talk about everything i think in details in the STM, or rub it in your face.

the only reason why im involved is because you're harassing my friend and i do not want her to suffer alone. its as simple as that. i will always support my friends in public, and correct them in private if i think they did something wrong. is random perfect ? do i think that she does no wrong ? ofc not. i'll always tell her if i think that she's not doing something right, the only difference is that i'll tell her in private, not in a discord server. how do you except anyone to listen to you if you already don't respect them enough to confront them privately and privately only ?

ray: what do you MEAN he just.. walked out on allison? they loved each other dearly, we sidnt get a fucking explanation?

sissy, SLOANE??: what, did these characters just disappear into thin air? if ray is alive, why couldn't sissy be, too? mostly after the big part harlan played in the third season. also, where the fuck did sloane go? so ben survived, but sloane just, what? disintegrated??? turned into pure marigold? hell.

ben?: why is no one talking about him? his love story was rushed, his motives were a bit stupid (not entirely, so i could excuse this), also he just fucking died and nobody seemed to actually care? klaus had little to no reaction and he was the closest to ben? what the hell is going on?

viktor: we ve gotten none of his backstory. we see a supposedly ex gf of his at the start, and they say he s getting every girl in town. what is he, afraid of commitment? a player? not able to sort his priorities? also, how come he didn't suffer any consequence after literally sucking those particles out of ben!? i mean, his body's got a fuck ton of marigold, and in theory when coming into contact with that bs particle; he should've what, exploded!?

reggie: how and why is reggie for once, supposedly nice? until now he played a role snd at the evnd revealed a facade and it being some evil plan. this time over though, what we see is what we get. he trusted viktor, he followed up on his word, gave him time, gave him chances, called so many times, and in the end, told his wife that he wishes to save it and couldnt believe it was her behind it. so why is he no longer evil? what's up with that?

jennifer: soo why was she inside a squid? what happened to her parents? how did she get that power? why is she destined to meet ben? erremmm.. so many plot holes w her.

commision: (i might be very wrong here and not remember the past seasons, feel free correct me if im wrong.) but ure telling me, that in NO timeline the commision still exists? lila and five have managed to travel through hundreds of them over the span of 6.5 years. and all of this, none of those timelines were helpful? or.. anything at all? i wish their arc wasnt so rushed, maybe more ppl would see through it. it didnt feel like 7 years. it felt like 2 months.

diego: throughout the season we see him getting clowned on for being a "failure" and being "fat" only for him to look the same, fucking ripped too, and be normal, react like a normal person would. he was a good, hard working father and good husband with pure intentions. what was all that for?

claire: i need to see more of her. we know klaus' been sober for 3 yrs, but its been 6. which menas that claure has seen that "bad, sick" side of klaus. we see her know how to recognise that he was relapsing. i wish we saw more of her childhood, her with allison and how she got so closs to klaus.

So Ive been thinking, and Ive been thinking about this a lot but never actually did anything about it.

Ive been dealing with social anxiety disorder for years and been to therapy for years, and I managed to work on most everything that impacted my life. Can you believe I didnt wear some clothes for years cause someone said something funny about it and I got anxious? Too anxious to wear it? Wild.

But I feel like F1 has become this monolith of anxiety for me, and Ive been avoiding watching it for a good year. Its just about things that could happen, like crashes, or what people might say about my guys and how it effects me. Social anxiety fucked up my brain yall.

But the worst thing you can actually do is avoid the thing youre scared of because it turns into that huuuuge fucking thing. The more I avoided it the more Ive been anxious.

But I love the sport, especially the guys? So I still care, cant sleep at times when its on cause anxious, and where do I get my daily dose of F1 from? The most biased sources on earth.

Social media.

At the end of the day I couldnt care less what Sophie from down the street thinks about Max. Or even my mutuals say about Charles, Daniel, Lando whoever.

That doesnt effect me. At all.

So I want to try to confront my fear and just try to enjoy this shitshow of a sport I love to get to terms with myself.

If I end up not liking it anymore, I atleast have closure.

Number 1: Time is Going in Circles

Alright so i already finished this one but its like 4 pages long and i didn't write like "Chapter one" and "Chapter 2" etc. and i feel like its kinda short and needs more story but its too long to be a oneshot but time to talk about it

So its pretty much where Emmet is stuck in a time loop in when Armamageddon happens and slowly while I'm writing he kinda goes insane and is willing to do anything (As in ANYTHING) to get out and he slowly just loses any care for human life (his love for his friends kinda fade since they don't believe him when he told them he's in a time loop but he still cares for them) since if they die oh well the time will just reset why worry? I already know how it ends but I'm gonna keep you in suspense :] *Evil laugh*

Number 2: The Exciting Afterlife Of Emmet Brickowski

So basically Emmet dies

Just kidding with ya imma tell ya more about ghost Brickowski So pretty much as I said Emmet dies and turns into a ghost, and since its in chapter 1 its kinda like not spoiler ish? so the reason he dies is that Lucy and the gang kinda broke into the construction and then something something Emmet falls, Benny tries to save him fails Emmet dead. Emmet kinda fell from a really high height and hit his head too hard and dies. Lucy lead that break in so she kinda feels responsible for his death

He then becomes a ghost and since he hit his head in his death he kinda has amnesia and doesn't remember his death but the first people he sees are Lucy and the gang (Benny, Unikitty, batman,Metalbeard) and feels a connection to them. Still, he doesn't know why (Maybe cause they're responsible for his death lkvkjs) but he feels especially connected to Lucy. He doesn't know why (Cause she caused his death) and then he follows them around and saves them from capture then like 2 years later he finds Lucy about to fall down a hole. Hence, he pushes her away (with ghost powers, he feels more solid in the construction site cause The Piece of Resistance is there and it makes him more alive or something) and falls in the hole but since The Piece of Resistance makes him more solid he kinda cant fly away and go ghost, he meets Lucy and doesn't know why she looks so scared. Then pretty much the movie happens but with ghost stuff and guilt ig

Number 3(actually): It takes two

I'm not really familiar with Owen, could you please make a post about what he did/siad? The khh/krnb industry is so wild it's hard to keep up with everyone andd everything they do/have done😂

Whew....where do I even start? It's actually a long laundry list.

So the most recent was when he said he doesn't care about BLM at the height of the protests during the pandemic. He said bascally "yall cant cancel me. I'm still getting money" or whatever. He eventually apologized after many people called him out. This is literally the only thing he's ever apologized for. So on one hand I believe him cause he DOESN'T EVER apologize for anything. No matter HOW bad his reputation and hate gets. But on the other hand I kinda wonder did the heat just get WAY too intense this time and so he gave a fake apology.

His other controversies include:

Saying "why do you guys care. you're not here parents." when a mkitrain member (neil) tried to get or did get nudes from a minor

Said he wants to "rape white bitches"

and honestly? I think there's more. I'm not even gonna lie but I can't remember them all. However, these are the really extreme ones that most people really hate him for and rightfully so.

I also don't like him but I kinda just try to ignore him now cause I got tired of talking about all the crazy, terrible shit he does.

While I HAVE publicly acknowledged that he was nice, polite, and humble when some acquaintances I met in Korea approached him in Hongdae one night* , I AM NOT a fan or apologist of his. I honestly lowkey regret even putting that out there and HEAVILY debated whether I should say it or not before posting. However, it was after a lot of people were surprised/annoyed that him and Ph-1 were friends again and I was trying to give context to why people in the industry will still tolerate his presence or even befriend him. I was shocked he wasn't a complete dickhead IRL tbh.

In addition, that was one experience that made me realize why some fans (and other rappers) will defend certain people (especially Owen) so hard. Cause I DEFINITELY used to be one of those "OMG so and so still has fans??? How is that even possible?" type of people. It's possible they met these people IRL before (obviously not in all cases) and had nothing but good experiences. So I was trying to basically convey that information to other people to help them understand a bit better. I feel like if something is true there's no reason to not say it but I still halfway feel like sometimes it can be unnecessary to say even if something is the truth. Regardless, I don't think that came off the way I really wanted it to. I think it might be something people have to experience personally like I did OR just be on a platform where long form text can add more nuance. Twitter is VERY bad for nuance LOL. Even if you make a thread, the first post ALWAYS gets more views than the subsequent ones so many people will miss the details/nuance even if you go out of your way too add it.

So ANYWAY, I just wanted to go more in depth here while we're on the topic of Owen just in case anybody remembers that tweet about him from not that long ago.

*this was a LONG time ago in Summer 2019. I've never had any direct interaction with him cause I ACTIVELY couldn't stand him back then but I wanted to observe the KHH scene while I was there so I observed everybody whether I liked them or not. Also, the acquaintances told me what happened in the conversation when they left and came back to where I was sitting. Just to be clear. These acquaintances were ALSO not fans of Owen and one didn't know who he was at all. One knew who he was but didn't know much about him. They saw him perform earlier that night. Two Survivors, or: how to make the murders in this movie Matter

First off, let me say that I watched Saw 7 very recently for the first time as I've been watching my way through the series in preparation for Saw X, and the jump in quality between 6 and 7 is pretty goddamn wild. I'm not the first person to say this, but 6 is - in my opinion- one of the most interesting and compelling movies in the franchise, and it seemed like the start of a newer, more interesting trajectory that 7 then immediately tanked. How is this? Why is this? What made Saw 7 the worst movie to date, more so than any others, and why was that so much different than any of the previous- admittedly campy and schlocky- movies in the series?

1.) What makes it so bad?

It's been pretty universally agreed upon that the Saw series is, with utmost affection, kind of a trashy mess. For the most part, that's not actually to the movies' detriment- there's a lot of things ABOUT that mess that make up part of the movies' unique charm. Things like overly elaborate traps, characters making genuinely unfathomably bad decisions that lead to their gory demise, or contrived ass-pull twists at the end of the movie are consistent throughout the series and I find that a lot of criticism that focuses on these aspects misses that they're part of the enjoyment of Saw. To make a Saw movie without bad decisions, insanely (unnecessarily) elaborate traps or last-minute left-field plot twists would, to some degree, be to strip the Saw franchise of its identity.

What makes saw 7 BAD, then? What is it that it does so differently than any of the previous movies, and why doesn't it work?

I'd say I'd boil it down to a handful of points, as follows:

The turn from practical effects to digital in service of the '3D' aspect

The nebulously connected plots which feel largely disjointed and lack significant impact on each other

The jumbled pacing and confusing time period for the movie

Nearly every secondary character just full stop does not matter and is flat at best

Several of these undoubtedly all trace back to the fact that saw 7 was always intended to be two movies, and you can feel it bursting to fit too many plot points into too short of a runtime. In the span of only an hour and a half, we're supposed to be able to tie off the loose ends of Mark Hoffman and Jill Tuck, witness the rise of another heir to the Jigsaw title, and follow the B-plot revolving around a supposed Jigsaw survivor and his gauntlet of tests. And frankly, they just did not have enough time to do all of the above. So the first and most important step to solving the movie would be to do what had always meant to be done with this franchise: to chop it in half and make two different movies out of it.

2.) The Hoffman Problem

Mark Hoffman was, I will be honest, one of the best things about Saw 6. One of the most enjoyable parts of 6 was watching his rise and downfall, and the ending of 6 left a huge, glistening sequel hook with Hoffman escaping the trap Jill placed him in, ready to rampage and seek revenge. And then in 7, he.

Uh. He sort of just. Doesn't do much of anything until the last 15 minutes or so.

This, I think, is the worst problem with the movie: because it had to do so much, there is a huge portion of time where both Hoffman and Jill simply... don't have anything to do. We're left to believe Hoffman is the one carrying out all the tests happening over the course of the movie, which.... doesn't really make sense? His supposed motive is, of course, that he wants to get Jill before she reveals his identity. And this, of course, falls apart under even the briefest of prodding. So his plan was.... do a bunch of murder to get the cops out of the police station, so he could break in and kill Jill. And the cops simply... never expected this, and also didn't anticipate that Hoffman, a former cop, might have access to their security systems?

So my proposal #1 for fixing Saw 7 is pretty easy: take out everything to do with Jill and Hoffman, and put them in their own movie. Wipe the whole slate clean with the plot points for this one, we're starting fresh.

The ideal conclusion to Hoffman's saga would have been much better if- like she did in 6- Jill took matters into her own hands with regards to her safety. 6 set up something very interesting with Jill, which is the question of how far a good person will go at the behest of a loved one. Jill in 6 was clever, secretive, still loyal to the John she knew and loved despite her mixed feelings about his acts. And I'd have loved to see that pushed to its logical extreme in the follow up: Jill has been left with her own choice. Hoffman is not only a bad man, he's also tarnishing John's intentions and legacy. Which, then, is the more moral thing to do- kill Hoffman, or protect herself and allow him to continue killing?

Instead, 7 did her dirty by having her immediately flee to the police (who had already been unhelpful at best and actively harassed her and targeted her for her ex husband's crimes at worst) and sit in a box for the whole movie until it was time for her to die.

Not that Hoffman fared much better. At the end of 6, we see Hoffman at his very lowest- having torn his way out of his own bear trap, wounded, bloodied, with nowhere to go and no chance of escape. He was cornered and furious, an animal willing to chew off his own leg to escape a trap. The momentum of which.... immediately got tanked by the fact that he just. Conveniently went into hiding somewhere and started setting up elaborate murders without being caught.

What I want to see from this hypothetical... we'll call it "Saw 6.5" is what the end of 6 promised: A cat and mouse game between him and Jill. She is smart and crafty and willing to take him down to keep him from tarnishing her husband's legacy, and he is berserk and furious and bloodthirsty and has resorted to murdering his way through any force that tries to stop him. Take out the parts where she goes to the police, take out the parts where he sends tapes with his full face and unmasked voice to the cops to go "oooooh until you give me jill im gonna do murderrrs!" and let the tension be about which of them is going to get to the other first.

And then, because 7 did her so dirty, let Jill win. Something, something, the one thing Hoffman never understood that Amanda and Jill did is who John was and that comes back to bite him. Tie a neat little bow on it, send it on its way, and now we can get into the meat of things that actually happened in 7 and how they could have been a genuinely interesting movie.

But the most important part is this: Hoffman should not be this movie's Jigsaw. He, most especially, should not be the one who sets up the gauntlet that makes up the majority of the film's runtime.

3.) The intro was almost interesting

Not gonna lie, the first time I saw Saw 7's chapter, I thought I knew what was going to happen, and smugly sat back to watch the events unfold.... only to have my prediction completely dashed against the glass for something far more stupid.

So, the intro scene involves two men and a woman strapped up to a series of saws in a huge glass case in the middle of a Very public location. The curtain is dropped, a crowd gathers to gasp at the spectacle and attempt to free the three participants from the trap. Billy rolls up on his tricycle, and the usual spiel begins- this woman cheated on you, will you kill each other to save her or let her die blah blah blah

And right off the bat, it seems.... cheap. Fake, even. Between the fact that all three of the "victims" look too clean, too young, too Hollywood to be the kind of ordinary person many past Jigsaw victims were, there's also a kind of trashiness to the motivation. A kind of tabloid, petty and frankly a little misogynist angle that's so unlike any previous attempts at grey morality in past movies. We went from "the US healthcare system is inherently built on suffering and there is no easy way to measure the worth of a life" to "bros before hoes dude let's live and murder this hoe that betrayed us". It's trashy, and I described the scene to my partners as feeling like it comes from a porn parody.

But here's what I thought was going to happen.

Right up until the point that people started dying, what I expected to happen was a last-minute fake-out before any blood is spilled. What I expected was that- right when the crowd is starting to panic about possibly witnessing a gruesome murder- the scene would be revealed to be a stunt. A publicity stunt, likely for a film or a fictionalized version of the real Jigsaw murders. A gross, tasteless, sexualized, sensationalized version of the Jigsaw murders.

And wouldn't that have been incredible?

Saw 6 was so enjoyable precisely because it struck exactly the right balance between a tongue-in-cheek, camp acknowledgement of the series' flaws and an unflinchingly straightforward social commentary. On the heels of that, I think at the bones of Saw 7's plot is a really interesting look at the exploitative, ugly relationship we have with public spectacle and serial killers.

True Crime is a genre with a lot of ethical debate, and it has only gotten more intense since the release of saw 7 in 2010. We saw multiple movies released about Ted Bundy. We've seen movies about the very real murders of the Zodiac Killer, or the Black Dahlia murder. We've seen real, actual victims have their lives fictionalized and sensationalized for the thrill of public consumption. So why not open the next Saw movie by looking that in the eye?

Which brings me to my next point:

4.) Two Survivors, or: how to make the murders in this movie Matter

The "b-plot" of Saw 7, if you can call it that, takes the formula that was established with saw 4-6 (a single protagonist makes his way through a gauntlet of traps involving people from his life, in one way or another, and can either fail or succeed in saving them) and attempts to play it straight, with a few key twists. But there are two very critical flaws to this:

The protagonist is so deeply unlikeable that we want him to die as soon as humanly possible

He is never in any significant danger, and mostly just kills everyone else by being a colossal dumbass

The thing is? I'm not suggesting we change those points. In fact, I think played right they'd have made some of the strongest points in the movie.

So, the protagonist of the film's gauntlet, Bobby Dagen. Supposed Jigsaw survivor on a publicity tour for his book about Surviving Jigsaw. It's pretty fucking transparent from the get-go that he's lying about his ordeal, so relying on that as any degree of twist is bound to fail. But his arc has promise. Remember what I said earlier about the opening scene being a publicity stunt for a fictionalized work about the Jigsaw murders? Yeah, let's go back to that concept. Let's say it's part of a 'jigsaw mania' that's hitting the media in the wake of the now-supposedly-over Jigsaw murders. Let's say there hasn't been a Jigsaw murder in quite some time. A couple copycats early on, but easily identified as such. Hoffman is gone. Amanda is gone. There is no more Jigsaw in the world. And now- now that any real threat is seemingly far behind them- the world wants to take Jigsaw's story and gawk at it like rubberneckers at a car crash.

That makes for a good cultural backdrop for Bobby's book tour. Everyone wants their slice of the Jigsaw pie, and the media has started digging for anything- anything that will give them a little more Jigsaw to pry into. They've mined all they can from the police records, from John's life, from Jill Tuck (who has vanished off the map, hopefully to retire somewhere nice). Now they're turning to the survivors of his traps, and Bobby catches that at just the right time to start building a name off it.

Okay. Now we're getting somewhere.

Next, we take out the part where John Kramer ever laid eyes on Bobby. In fact, we make it so that Bobby only started touring with his book after John Kramer's death. Only once there was no one left who could verify his story.

No one, that is, except Dr. Lawrence Gordon.

Look, I think the reveal of Dr. Gordon as having survived, and his heel turn at the end, was... fun, honestly. Delightful. But it could be so much better with just a few tweaks.

Firstly, he needs to be the one that set up Bobby's gauntlet. Rather than unfinished business left behind by John, instructions to be carried out after his death, Bobby's trial should be Dr. Gordon's idea and execution. Because it's not just that Bobby is besmirching Jigsaw's name or what have you- it's that he's claiming something that Laurence really and truly did experience.

Secondly, in regards to the murders themselves- one of the big flaws in this movie is how silly, senseless and without stakes most of them feel. Sure, Bobby is trying to save his publicists and his agents and his wife, blah blah blah. But unlike 6- where those deaths being cruel and undeserved is something of the point of it all- in 7 we never really feel like it's particularly fair. Bobby strolls through all of his traps with lackluster attempts to save his peers and inevitably gets them all- including his wife, who never did anything but believe her husband- brutally, horribly murdered. At the end we're left with a wet fizzle of an arc where he tries to do the thing he wrote about in his book, except he sucks at it and he gets his wife killed boo hoo hoo.

Here's my argument: This should all play out exactly the same way. Most importantly, Bobby should survive at the end. Because if this is Dr. Gordon's trial- if this test is from one bitter survivor, angry at the mockery of his trauma and grief- then at the end Bobby should be left standing with all his failures. And Lawrence should let him go.

Because sometimes, surviving is worse.

You get the one-two punch for the character and the audience. We've spent the whole run of the movie hating this prick, and we don't even get to watch him die. Because he talked a big game about how surviving changed his life, it gave him will to live, it made him better. And in this hypothetical version of the movie, Lawrence would test that notion.

In this hypothetical version of the movie, Lawrence would present his reality as a survivor: Sometimes, surviving just means you left someone else to die in your place. And now you have to live with it.

What a way to tie it all back, right? If Lawrence survived, it comes with the cost that he knew he never made it back to Adam. It means he only lived because he failed to save someone else. He sacrificed his leg, he dragged his bloodied body out of that bathroom, and Adam remained and Adam died. And now this glory-stealing liar wants to talk about the positive impact survival had on his mind?

Most importantly, it means that all those trials were never about risking his own life. He was always going to survive. The question was whether it'd be worth anything, worth all those other survivors who Bobby trampled on and lied to and dragged into the limelight. All those people who already paid their price.

Wrapping it all up.

I think the worst thing about saw 7 is that all of this was almost there. It's barely a stretch to slightly re-imagine the movie- cutting some scenes, restructuring a few others- so that it plays out exactly like this. And the thing is, it would have had something really fun to say not only about the real world's obsession with true crime and the in-universe Jigsaw killings, it would have been a fun way to address the actual phenomenon of Saw itself.

Saw as a series was pretty groundbreaking at the time, and it's always gotten a lot of heat for being 'pointless torture porn'. And while I think that's an uncharitable reading that ignores the actual appeal of horror or how audiences react to it, I think this alternate version of Saw 7 could have said something about that. More specifically, I think it could have taken a look at what it means when the violence is pointless. When there was no moral reason the people in the traps deserved to die, except that it was cruel and grotesque and made to horrify Bobby. When there was no glory or awakening that came with survival, only bitterness and anger. Saw 7 almost- almost- said 'you want exploitative and gory? We haven't even begun to show you exploitative and gory.'

But unfortunately, it didn't. And I'll be honest, I genuinely enjoyed saw 7 because it was a train wreck like no other. Not fun in the deliberate, self-aware way 6 was, but fun because it missed every single swing it took. But under all the gristle and gore are the bones of a fascinating concept and I, personally, will spend forever imagining the alternate universe where my version of the movie exists. And now I hope you will too :p

also while i'm sawposting i'm putting a pin in the thoughts i have about how saw 7 could have been saved and Better because there's the Bones of a really interesting plot there
