I have always been interested in environmental portraits. I love capturing someone at their hobby or workplace…intrigued of their talents and what they do. I recently took an online class, thanks to @don_toothaker and @huntsphotovideo, on offering this class in Environmental Portraiture. It was an excellent presentation that reminded me why I am so drawn to this style of photography. ��⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Exactly what is an environmental portrait? It’s easier to explain that it is not done in a studio or against a blank background. Environmental portraits are typically taken in the workplace or environment that the subject spends most of their time. It is one of the greatest forms storytelling. Done well, the environmental portrait should help to identify or “see” the story, recognize the environment, and create more impact than an ordinary portrait - even if you can’t see their faces. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I present to you “Torched” in color and black & white, swipe ⬅️ … which do you like best and why?
