Honest (Part One)
Tumblr media
Word count: 2425
Warnings: Angst, cursing, flashbacks the tiniest tiniest bit of fluff
A/N: Technically, it's the 25th, but let's pretend it's still the 24th and be excited that the first part is finally here! I hope y'all like it, this is my first series so I would love some feedback! My masterlist and taglist are both in my bio!
“I have to start getting ready for class, love,” Harrison said softly, waking you up as he attempted to get out of bed.
“It’s too early. Stay here with me,” you pleaded, a sleepy pout on your face as you tighten your grip on Harrison’s waist.
“I wish I could, darling,” he leaned down to kiss your forehead. “But it’s the first day, you know I’ll spend the whole day trying to find parking if I’m not early.”
You groaned, reluctantly letting him go. You watched as he walked to the closest, admiring how lovely he looked as the faint sunlight hit him.
You couldn’t help wanting to stay in his presence for as long as you possibly could. So you walked over to him and wrapped your arms around his waist from behind, wishing it wasn’t the first day of class so you could drag him back to bed. You rested your head his shoulder, “At least stay long enough to have a cup of coffee.”
“Of course, love. Spending the morning with you is my favorite part of the day.”
You let out a little “yayy” as you sat up, planting a kiss his cheek, before heading to the kitchen to start making the coffee.
While you waited for the it to brew, you threw a bagel into the toaster oven, knowing Harrison wouldn’t have time to eat until sometime in the afternoon.
A loud knock on the door scared you, making you squeal as you dropped half of the bagel you were preparing for yourself on the floor. You sighed, picking it up and throwing it in the trash before answering the door. You didn’t know who to expect when you opened the door, but you sure as hell didn’t expect to see Tom.
You whole body went numb as you took in the sight of him. His hair was a bit longer, his curls falling onto his face as he looked down on his phone, too busy typing something to realize you had even opened the door. You continued analyzing him while he was still preoccupied, taking note of his slightly tanner skin and the way his tight shirt emphasized his muscular arms. You hated to admit it, but he looked good. Much better than the last time you saw him.
You paced around your apartment, anxiously checking your phone every few minutes. Tom was supposed to pick you up from class hours ago. When he didn’t show up, you figured he had overslept and you’d find him where you last saw him earlier that morning; in your bed. But when you arrived at your apartment, only Alex, your best friend and roommate, was there, and she hadn’t seen Tom at all. So, you spent the next couple of hours texting and calling. He never picked up or answered, but you knew he was getting all of it, a little ‘read’ sign popping underneath the spam of messages every once in a while.
“Where is he?” you mumbled to yourself, your stomach knotted with worry as you kept staring at the little screen.
This went on for a while. You would text, call, question where he was and if he was okay. Eventually, the worry started to turn to anger, and by that point you barely bothered to call and maybe send a couple of texts. Clearly, he was okay. He just didn’t want to talk to you.
You tried sleeping, but every time you closed your eyes, your anxiety would naw at you more and more. You imagined him in some horrible situation. What if he had gotten into an accident? Or lost his phone? What if his dumbass got into some kind of a fight and he was sitting in a corner somewhere, broken and alone? You knew deep down he was okay, but the longer you waited, the more your anxiety filled your mind with dark thoughts. You were practically drowning in them.
It wasn’t until Tom stumbled into your apartment, sometime after one in the morning, that you finally felt like you could breathe. You gave him a quick once over, making sure he wasn’t physically hurt in any way. He seemed to be perfectly fine.
Now that you knew he was okay, you let the anger you’d been holding back consume you. “Where the fuck have you been?”
He ignored your question, walking straight into your bedroom, mumbling something about not wanting to fight right now.
“No,” you called after him, “I want to know what was so important that you stood me up on our  anniversary.”
He sighed, sitting on the corner on your bed, facing away from you. “I’m sorry. I lost track of time. I’ll make it up to you.”
You almost laughed at his “apology.” You knew he wasn’t sorry. It wasn’t the first time he said those exact three sentences after fucking up. It was his favorite thing to say lately, and every time you let it slide, choosing to have faith in the man you thought you’ve been counting on for the past two years. It only ended with him let you down every single time. You couldn’t let it go this time. You wouldn’t.
“What’s been going on with you lately?” You were now sitting in front of him, literally on your knees, begging him to let you in. “Whatever is it, I’ll do whatever it takes to help make things better. I just need to know what’s wrong.”
He didn’t even bother to look at you. “Nothing’s wrong, babe. I’m fine.”
You got up, so frustrated you weren’t sure if you wanted to scream or cry hysterically, but you were sure what you wanted the most;to sleep. You were so tired, Tom’s shit wasn’t worth putting  up with anymore.
“Then get out.”
“What?”
You pointed to the door, “I’m done. Get the hell out.”
You honestly didn’t mean a word that you said. You just wanted him to show some emotion, give some kind of sign that he still cared for you, for your relationship.
He shrugged, “This wasn’t working anymore anyway.” And without another word, he left, only stopping to slam the door behind him.
You weren’t sure if he had left the apartment, but you couldn’t hold back the emotions anymore, falling to your knees as the tears fell in full force.
You stayed like that for a while, not even bothering to get off the floor. You would occasionally fall in and out of sleep, but your mind was too restless with thoughts of Tom to really let sleep takeover.
Eventually you grew tired of lying on the floor, craving the warmth of having someone next you, and just a bed in general. So you forced yourself to get up, planning on sneaking into Alex’s room. You caught sight of the time on your alarm clock and hoped she wouldn’t mind getting some extra company at almost four in the morning.
You opened the door, letting out a little gasp when you found Tom sitting on the floor, his body leaning on the doorframe, asleep and snoring softly. He hadn’t been asleep for long, his nose slightly red and cheeks still wet from crying. You examined him for a moment longer, noticing the dark circles under his eyes and just how pale he looked. Despite how peaceful he seemed while he slept, you could still see how troubled his was. You gently woke him up, wordlessly bringing him to your bed. He hesitantly wrapped his arms around you when you crawled in next to him. You could practically hear his relief when you snuggled closer to him.
“I’m so sorry,” he whispered, breaking the silence.
You pretended to be asleep, not knowing what to say. You didn’t want to tell him that none of his actions recently were okay, not while he was holding you like his life depended on it, like you would disappear if he let go. Instead, you made a silent promise to him and to yourself that tomorrow would be better, you would make sure of it. Sleep took over not too long after and you dreamt of the perfect anniversary dinner with Tom, the one you should’ve had.
When you woke up a few hours later, Tom and any trace of him were gone. All that was left was a note that read, “I can’t do this anymore.”
It was the sound of Harrison’s voice that brought you back to reality and made Tom look up from his phone with a smile. A smile that quickly disappeared when he when he caught sight of you.
“Y/n?” Harrison called out, making his way over to you. “Who is it, love?”
Still too in shock to answer, you just slowly moved out of the way to reveal an equally shocked Tom. Harrison’s eyes widen as he let out a soft “oh shit” under his breath, making you feel a bit relieved. At least he was just as surprised as you were.
He quickly composed himself, “Tom! I didn’t think you’d be here for a few days.”
Or maybe it wasn’t as much of a surprise as you thought.
“Yeah, I didn’t exactly plan-”
You didn’t stay to listen, letting the boys greet each other and using it as an opportunity to escape to Harrison’s room. You picked up your phone, quickly sending an sos text to Alex, knowing she would understand immediately. As you waited for a reply, you started packing some of your things, preparing to hop out of there the second she pulled up.
‘Maybe I should stay, this is probably just a misunderstanding,’ you shook the thought away, trying not to give in to the idea.
It didn’t matter why Tom had suddenly showed up, all that you were certain of was you couldn't stay by yourself with him. You weren’t too sure what would happen if you did, but you knew you weren’t prepared for it.
Harrison stepped in not too long after, his eyes full of guilt and sadness as he took note of a small pile of your clothes that you usually left for your long visits, now packed neatly inside of your bookbag. “You’re leaving?”
You didn’t bother answering him, too angry to speak. He knew better than anyone about your feelings towards Tom. He was one of the few people that helped mend the broken person you were all those months ago. You couldn’t believe that him of all people would do something like this. not only invited Tom, but all of negative feelings as well, without so much as a single warning.
He hesitantly walked over to you and grabbed your hands, stopping you mid-fold. “At least let me drop you off to wherever it is you want to go.” “You’ll be late to class.” “Please,” he pleaded. “I’d rather to be late to every class than see you walk out while you’re angry with me.” You wanted to decline like the stubborn person that you are, but you knew you couldn’t the second your eyes met his. He looked like a sad puppy, begging you for a chance to explain himself. How could you ever say no? “Fine.” He pulled you in for a hug and planted a kiss on your head, “Thank you, love.”
You nodded, taking a bit of comfort in his embrace. You were still upset, but if you were being totally honest, you would rather be upset and stuck for a short ride with Haz than being alone in the apartment with Tom for any amount of time. As if he had heard you exact thought, Harrison pulled away, telling you he’d be waiting for you in the car. He was out of the room by the time you could process what he said and by that point you didn’t want to risk embarrassing yourself in front of Tom. You cursed under your breath, you were going to have to face him whether you liked it or not. When you finally had the courage to step out, you found him leaning on the across from Harrison’s room, waiting for you. His jaw clenched, eyes hard as he took a good look at you and the bag in your hand.
He didn’t hesitate to start spewing all the thoughts that were running through his head.
“My best friend, y/n? Really? Out of all the people you could’ve picked to fuck around around with, you just had to pick Haz?” He laughed humorlessly. “Honestly, do you not feel any shame?’
You rolled your eyes. Of course the first thing he would do after so long without a word to each other is pick a fight. You weren’t even surprised that he had figured out a way to make you the bad guy, as if he hadn’t done anything wrong.
You raised your hand, signaling him to stop before he said another word. “You don’t get to do that. You don’t get to judge me and ask questions. You’re the one that-” You cut yourself off, so choked up with emotion you felt like you could barely breathe, let alone speak.
His eyes softened for a moment and he reached out to grab your hand. You shook your head, taking a few steps back to widen the distance between the two of you.
“Don’t even think about coming near me right now. Better yet, don’t even think about me at all. Pretend like I’m not even here.”
He looked away guiltily,“How can you expect me to just ignore you?”
You shrugged, “You did a really good job at that for the past eight months, so I’m sure you can manage.” You pushed past him before he could say anything, practically running in an attempt to get out of there as quickly as you could. Your heart was racing and your head was pounding with a headache as you used one hand slam the door behind you, the other tightly holding your things. You considered waiting for Alex, wanting to care about only yourself. Instead you sent a text, telling her to stay home as you took a deep breath and forced yourself to go down to the building’s garage, where you knew Harrison was patiently waiting.
He greeted you when you entered the car, giving you a tentative smile, you faked a smile, feeling numb and wondering what you had done to deserve this. The only comfort you had was the certainty that things couldn’t get any worse.

Give me Bread Man or Give Me Death: Or, Selasi Romance Tale Headcanons
I'm sorry for this. I love me some Baker man and I want y'all to love him too. So here we go.
Ok, obviously Selasi is Vesuvia's favorite Baker man.
MC is Selasi's favorite Magician (it's canon y'all, I don't make the rules)
So, Selasi always has fresh hot pumpkin bread waiting for MC when they come around to his shop. ALWAYS. Even super late in the afternoon, it's always fresh and always hot and steamy.
(He may or may not have asked Asra to charm that basket he keeps for MC so it keeps the bread nice and warm and soft for when they can make it around to see him later in the day, mmmm.)
Selasi is an angel and nobody can tell me otherwise. Anyone who has so much affection for MC even though we haven't even gotten a sprite of him yet must be a pretty great dude.
Selasi is one sassy man. Come on, he sassed Consul Valerius (aka Wine Daddy) and called him out for letting the city's floating marketplace (and like half the city, tbh?) flood. You think this guy's playing around? Nah, he's out for bread-based justice all around. Anyway-
Everyone in the city loves the jovial Baker man, and if anyone ever said a word against him, half the city would be there to fuck that person up (MC leading the monstrous hoard of rioters, of course, followed closely by Asra, probably).
Selasi loves loves LOVES MC, and their familiar. Snake familiar? Cute. Canine familiar? Awww, here's a treat, little buddy. Feline? Great, here's some fresh cream for the wee friend. Literally any familiar, Selasi will find a special treat for them in his shop. Selasi loves the familiars, and they love him.
Selasi def slips MC extra pumpkin rolls with their daily purchase, and nobody's not sure how he hasn't gone out of business from giving away so many freebies to the person who is/should be his best paying customer with how often MC drops by??
Selasi would definitely invite MC to lunch one afternoon on his break, and MC would either A) gravely misunderstand and think he's cooking for them on the house, or B) misread the situation entirely (not realizing they were being asked on a date) and invite Asra along to lunch with them. Either way, hijinks ensue.
Asra is kind of sad at first that MC seems to like someone else, of course, but if it had to be anyone, they guess their favorite Baker would be high up on the list of choices? (*cough* at least it's not Lucio *cough*)
So he kind of gently nudges MC on the walk to lunch and goes "I just remembered I've actually got something to go take care of. Why don't you two go together, and I'll see you back at the shop later? You can bring something back for me and Faust."
Selasi is surprised but rolls with it, taking a mental note to gift Asra LOTS of bread and treats for Faust for helping him out there.
Selasi and MC go have lunch at a cute little shop not too far from his own, and enjoy some delicious curry (accompanied by bread he supplies to this shop, of course).
MC and Selasi walk back to his shop, where MC kisses him on the cheek, thanks him for lunch, and says "I'll be back to see you- I mean, the bread, again soon! Bye!!" Tripping over their words and blushing as they run off to finish their errands for Asra, leaving the food they'd bought for Asra and Faust at Selasi's stand. (On accident or on purpose?? The world may never know.)
So of course, Selasi has to bring the food to the shop, and.... See MC again!! Yay!!! What an excuse to see the person you like again, right??
MC answers the door with a half-surprised expression. "Oh! What brings you here?" They smile at Selasi coyly, so much so that he can't tell if they meant for this to happen or not, but either way, the cute blush on their cheeks is worth the extra trouble.
"I-You- I mean, Asra's dinner. You left Asra's dinner at my shop, I thought you might want it back." He hands MC the food, to which he, of course, added extra bread.
"Huh, feels a little heavier than when I set it down." They wink at him. "That couldn't be your doing, could it?"
Selasi blushes and smiles softly. "Always for my favorite Magician."
MC pouts. "Aw, I thought I was your favorite, not Asra!" Selasi grows flustered and backtracks, blushing in embarrassment. "I- well, yes!! That's what I meant, I always add something a little extra for you..."
MC chuckles. "I know, I just wanted to tease you, silly. Now, would you like to stay for dinner?"
Y'all, Selasi is a pure sassy man and we don't see anywhere near enough of him, devs. Give us more Selasi!!!!!!!!!!!!

Part 2
*************************
“I think the steak was slightly overcooked but other than that I thought everything was pretty good, what about you?”
I looked out the window while David spoke, lost in thought, pretending to listen to his mediocre attempt at conversation.
“Hmm? Oh yeah, food was great.”
This had been the first time we had been together alone in any capacity for a long time. About 3 years ago, we got the biggest surprise of our lives, we were pregnant. Well, I was the one that carried the baby for 40+ weeks, vomited most of that time, and went into labor and pushed an 8-pound baby out of my body. But people still like to say “we.” Sure.
When our daughter, Rachel was born, she was the most beautiful, unexpected gift the both of us could receive. Although neither of us was completely ready for a baby, David and I both knew we’d do anything to support her. We both took up more hours at our jobs, and my mother quit hers to take care of Rachel while we both worked. Everything ran pretty smoothly for about 6 months. After that, things started to change between the both of us. I wanted to settle down. We had the components of a perfect family in my eyes, all we needed was to make it “official.”
David did not feel the same way and started to grow distant because of this. It all increased to a head one night. David and I had frequently been arguing because of all the stress with working so many hours and having a new baby in the house. I completely understood that keeping the baby wouldn’t exactly be easy, but I expected my and David’s relationship to still stay strong because we loved each other. Although David was a wonderful father to Rachel, he was no longer acting like a boyfriend to me. I tried asking him what was wrong on so many occasions which David would brush off to “being tired.” I would usually let it go, but not tonight. Tonight I was done. After I picked up Rachel from my parent’s house, I waited for David to come home so we could pinpoint what the problem was. As soon as David walked in the door, I started talking.
“David, what’s going on between us?” David didn’t look up from his phone while he walked in the door. “Babe, I’m just tired.”
Hearing his robotic response caused my nostrils to flare and to inhale a giant breath.
“You’re not FUCKING tired, David! Tell me what the fuck is going on, NOW!”
My outburst yanked David’s gaze from his phone to look directly at me.
“Geez Y/N you’re gonna wake the baby!”
“I’ll wake her if I need to figure out what is going on between us! David! You hardly look at me anymore. You barely talk to me, god knows when the last time you fucked me, just TELL me what’s going on!”
David slightly tilted his head, seemingly trying to understand why I had gone off on him. After a few awkward moments, he placed his phone, wallet, and coat on the coffee table and approached me.
“Y/N…”
“Is it because I want to get married?” I blurted out
Immediately, David’s demeanor changed from mildly annoyed and concerned to full fledged anger. He wrinkled his nose and scoffed.
“I’m not doing this right now, I’m exhausted, and the first thing I have to hear when I get home is you bitching at me?!” He shoved me slightly to get past me to grab a beer from the fridge. I wasn’t yielding, and I pressed on,
“Yeah, I’m ‘bitching’ at you because that seems to be the only way I can get you to talk to me! All I want to know what's going on between us, is that a bad thing?”
“It is when it interferes with my after-work beer.”
At that point, I had it. Uncharacteristically, I yanked David's beer from his hand and held it away from him “Well now you don’t have a beer, so tell me what's wrong!”
My actions caused David to rise from his chair and storm towards me. I was ready for anything at this point. I knew my actions were petty and stupid, but I was so enraged with him that I was hardly in my right mind to deal with this maturely. David was barely a couple of inches in front of me, yanked my bicep so forcefully I knew it was going to bruise then he screamed, “You only want to get married because your fucking ex didn’t want to, and I’m in no way marrying some fucking reject leftovers!” He then grabbed the beer back and sat back down in his chair.
The rage I felt immediately changed into dejection. I thought our relationship was not in the best shape, but I had no idea David felt such vitriol toward me and my desire to settle down.
That was the end for me, I quickly grabbed Rachel and her diaper bag and a couple of things I needed, and I drove to my parent's house. Swallowing my pride and telling them what happened between David and me was one of the hardest things I’ve had to do so far other than giving birth to Rachel. My parents weren’t David’s biggest fans but "played nice" because they didn’t want to taint Rachel’s feelings against her father. Surprisingly, my parents didn’t criticize me or remind me they “told me so.” Instead, Mom grabbed Rachel, and dad made up the spare room for me to stay.
After several hours, I received a text from David Hey can we talk? Sorry about what happened, just tired. Miss you.
I laughed when I saw the text. Slightly delirious from exhaustion and crying, I replied, Kiss my ass. You and I are DONE. I turned my phone off, tossed it to the side and continued my crying.
*****************
That was a year ago. Now, here I was, on a “date” with David that surprisingly went well. He had invited me out for coffee to discuss daycare and preschool options for Rachel. Even though she was barely almost two years old, we both knew planning ahead was much easier than waiting for the last minute when it comes to toddler stuff.
Coffee had surprisingly been pleasant. David and I hadn’t talked much in general, especially about that one night, for a year; so I was surprised we had such a great time drinking coffee discussing our daughter’s future.
“Hey, I’m getting hungry, want to get something to eat?” David smiled
“Sure, I’d like to.”
Dinner went as well as coffee, except David briefly brought up that night. While we were enjoying our appetizers at the steakhouse he chose, he reached for my hand, and gently squeezed it. “I’m really sorry for what I said, Y/N. I was being stupid and wanted to hurt you because you took away my beer.” This caused us to both to chuckle.
“I’m really sorry about that by the way, I was an idiot too, and that was completely uncalled for.”
“We both were fucking immature.”
I looked at David and smiled.
“Also,” he continued, “What I said, especially about you being…Leftovers, I didn’t mean it. I know your ex is a sore subject and I shouldn’t have said that and—”
“David, I forgive you, its fine.”
We both smiled at each other when what David said shocked me.
“I want to give us another shot. You don’t have to answer now, but I think we should try, at least for Rachel.”
I didn’t know what to say, but I gave him a polite nod and smiled and continued to eat my food.
*********************
And that brings us here. David driving me home to my parent's house where Rachel was being watched by my parents. I had told my parents I was going to coffee with David when both my mom and dad sighed.
“Do you really have to go on a date with this guy?”
“Dad, it's not a date, we’re going to talk about stuff for Rachel.”
“And you can't do that over the phone?”
I exhaled “Dad it's just easier, anyway, I’ll be back quick this shouldn't take long.”
“I liked it when that other boy came around, he was much better than this David fellow.”
“Dad…”
“I liked him too, Honey. His hair was a little long, and I think he wore too much black but he was such a nice boy, and he had such beautiful eyes.”
“MOM!” I rolled my eyes. “Can we please leave Loki out of this, he is the last person I need right now.”
And it was true. After Loki’s abrupt departure from my life, I had no desire to see him. We fell for each other hard during college, well at least I did. I assumed he did as well, but my assumption was proven false when he just up and left me. It was actually David who became my confidant. Before we started dating, he helped me get over Loki. Although I was over him, my parents apparently weren’t and would love to bring him up from time to time.
Pulling up to my parent's house, David and I noticed an extra car in the driveway. “Ugh, who’s car is that?” I asked annoyed. I motion to David to parallel park by the house. Once we both exit the car I try to inspect who’s car was blocking the driveway. All black Tesla with vanity plates reading: GDMSCF.
“Holy SHIT!”
I sprint toward the front door, leaving David behind, and quickly unlock the front door. The door swings open and I am left speechless with the scene I see before me.
Mom in the kitchen pulling something from the oven, Dad sitting on the couch scrolling through his phone, and Rachel playing with her toys on the floor, with none other than Loki. Hearing the door slam open, Dad looked up and smiled.
“Y/N, look who came by!” The excitement in my dad's voice was practically tangible. “Rachel loves him.”
“He said he was in the neighborhood and wanted to say hi to all of us,” Mom yelled from the kitchen.
Loki looked up at me and gave me a wicked grin.
“Hello darling, it is wonderful to see you again." I had forgotten over the years how devastatingly handsome he was. I became utterly tongue-tied. Loki, the man who left me without as much as a reason or note goodbye, was here, in my living room with my daughter. I didn’t know whether to play nice and greet him, slap him, or rip Rachel away from him.
“For goodness sake, Y/N, say hello to our guest.” Dad scolded.
“Uhhhh-um—hey Loki.” I finally greeted.
I had completely forgotten about David when he came behind me, causing to squeal.
“What's going on?” David asked, concerned by my running into the house.
“Loki is our guest and were having him over for dinner.” Mom said, stepping into the living room.
“Loki?” David questioned, “Isn’t that—”
“And old friend of Y/N? Yes indeed, pleasure to meet you, David, you have a lovely daughter.” Loki rose up from the floor to shake David’s hand. Although slightly confused, David shook his hand anyway and mumbled thank you to him.
I was still in utter shock. It was surreal seeing Loki in my parent's house again, like old times in college. Loki and I would come to my house to study for every  Literature class we took together. And by "study" I mean eat, recite poetry to each other, and make out. Whenever we had a literature class together, we always made an excuse for “study dates.” In truth, neither of us needed to study, we both excelled in those classes because we were both avid readers and lovers of literature. That's actually what initially brought us together, we would frequently see each other in the library reading books not pertaining to our other classes, or one of us would check out a book the other wanted to read. Finally, the accidental run-ins became so frequent Loki finally approached me.
“You have a book I want to borrow.” He stated matter-of-factly
“Oh yeah, which one would that be?”
“The poetry anthology.”
I looked down at my pile of books and saw the book he was referring to.
“You mean, E.E. Cumming’s Erotic Poems?” I let out a loud chuckle.
I assumed he would be flustered but he confidently grabbed the book from my pile lightly grabbed my arm, and leaned in and whispered, “Lady, I will touch you with my mind. Touch you and touch and touch until you give me suddenly a smile, shyly obscene…”
His voice was pure sin. Instantly, I was physically aroused from listening to his velvet baritone whisper in my ear. Almost knowing what he had done, Loki winked at me and left with the book.
******************
That was the first time I had met him, and all those memories came flooding back in my mind seeing Loki again.
“I’ll be right back, I think I left something in the car.” I weakly excused myself and dashed out the front door. I made it to the driveway when Loki appeared, leaving his illusion inside I assumed.
“Darling, it is so good to see you, you look absolutely astonishing.”
“Oh fuck off, you know that's a lie, I hardly look ‘astonishing’ since I had the baby.”
“Nonsense” Loki came closer to me, placing his palm on my cheek, “Motherhood suits you.”
I shoved his hand away. “Don’t patronize me.”
“Why so hostile, love? I’ve come to see you.”
“Well, you’re about hmmm… three years too late!” I began to tear up. “You left me Loki! Left me and just expected me to figure out what to do? Well, I got news for you, asshole, I’ve moved on, I have a daughter, and I am very happy.”
Loki snickered. “Come now, Y/N, I think everyone knows that that's an absolute lie.” He tried to wipe my tears away, and I again shoved his hand away.
“Even if it is a lie, Loki, that is none of your business.” Ignoring me, Loki grabbed my face with both of his hands and stared into my eyes.
“You have the most gorgeous hazel eyes, little one.”
“For the millionth time Loki, my eyes are Y/E/C,” I said while trying to remove his hands from my face. “Just your lazy attempt to be charming but failing to pay attention to anything important.”
“Darling, you are so wonderfully verbal, but do shut up.”
Loki pulled me in closer and kissed me, deeply and passionately. At that moment, I quit resisting and kissed him back. It was a kiss that I will never forget. He pulled me in close and held me like I hadn’t been held since he disappeared. One hand gently pulled the hair on the nape of my neck while the other traveled down my back, and ultimately grabbed my ass, tightly.
“You have always been mine, Y/N, no matter what happens, no matter you or that pathetic mortal David thinks, you belong to me, and I belong to you.”
I pulled away, trying not to cry again, “Then why the fuck did you leave me?”
Loki pulled me in and embraced me, “There is a lot to explain love.”
I looked up at him, “Then you better start fucking explaining.”
