Mexican GP 2023 Reflection

Checo should have been patient. You just fumbled a top 5 finish at your home race. And the worst part is, Daniel's road to his seat just got a lot easier. I guess I can be happy that Lewis closed the gap to P2.

The crowd was so mean to Charles like there's was literally nothing he could have done. I'm surprised he was able to stay in the race. Not fair to take action on an incident that happened on the first lap after the race has completed

Y'all on Twitter and Tumblr are way too mean to Carlos. I've said it once and I've said it again: Carlos is a team player. With that being said there's no way he could have kept Max behind at all. He did a lot of defending today and that was commendable

I'll give Mercedes their 10s. They cut the pitstop times down a second from COTA. That strategy of putting Lewis and George on mediums was way too bold but it paid off

Also Lewis is the greatest to ever do it. Setting the fastest lap on 30+ lap old mediums is not for everybody

Lando may have put on the best race of his career despite the disastrous race restart. I'm sure if he was able to qualify well he would have been on the podium. Very happy for him

Esteban and his radio had me cackling. And the it took a lot of laps for him to make a move on Nico. I hope he never stops being a comedian

I am so frustrated with Yuki like all he had to do was be patient. He would have gotten Oscar eventually as his pace was dropping off. Still, I am very happy to see that he showed a lot of pace in the car. Daniel also doing well is giving me hope for the future

I hope people have gotten the "Oscar is having the greatest rookie season since Lewis Hamilton" stuff out of their system. Because... no. He's been involved in too many racing incidents this season for that statement to even hold up.

Overall, this race had a few cool moments. Definitely more action that last year. But for like 70% of it? I was pretty bored. Brazil is a sprint race weekend so I'm probably gonna complain about that. But maybe we will get a surprise winner? Who knows

💌 A messy open letter/life update to my moots, readers and followers (?)

MY LOVES MY ANGELS HI!!!

IM SO SORRY FOR NEGLECTING Y'ALL FOR SO LONG my kitten is just now healed enough (not fully healed yet. she still has sutures) for me to be able to let her walk around the room and play by herself without being too dangerous for her health and I FINALLY was able to sleep more these last 4 days (I didn't talk to ANY of my friends for 3 days bc all I could do was sleep - even during the day, like, a lot - watch movies n read a bit (books, not fanfiction)/study neuroscience and anatomy a bit) so, now, I'm only like 70% recovered from so much sleep deprivation (being an amateur nurse for a spayed kitten and also doing house chores, mostly by yourself, ain't easy) and I've been logging in here for like only 30 minutes up to a maximum of like 1 hour or so, and not even everyday, just editing some stuff on my posted fanfiction/checking my notifications, messages, asks and OMG you guys are AMAZING!!! So much love that I'm receiving, from moots, readers, followers or even people who I don't think follow me but they support my works somehow, even after me being gone for this long while... IM SO THANKFUL AND MOVED!!! I love this fandom SO MUCH! I have no words!! I've been in many fandoms in my life and the Avatar one is by far the most supportive, peaceful - to a certain extent - and full of good energy and love! I PROMISE I will get to answer y'all soon enough!

I also have indigenous heritage from my great grandmother, love my indigenous culture, live in a small town, next to the countryside, always felt crazily connected to nature and the Universe and been deeply fascinated by space, aliens, sci-fi, fantasy, always been called a "hippie" by people, either to tease me playfully or to try to make me feel bad for being a bit too much like Kiri Sully (istg me and Kiri are one and the same) so, this fandom serves me JUST RIGHT 😅🫀✨🌱👽💕 I'm here to stay and I WILL help keep this wonderful fandom alive!!! 💖

okay, and now i'm going to say something spicy and maybe truly controversial:

i love rich's time with the gotg. i love his connections to these characters. but do y'all (general y'all, no one SPECIFICALLY GHFJDKS) as a fandom, like, realize he has a wholeass character beyond that? he has his own history, his own lore, he literally only met these characters 30 years after his first appearance — which included three nova solo runs, extensive time with the new warriors, and appearances in various and sundry crossover events and other people's books?

he doesn't just exist for the gotg or to be part of a ship. like, i get that his 70s and 90s stuff isn't a lot of what people know, and annihilation really did a lot to revitalize his character (and annihilation is how i found him, too!), but, like — he is a character who exists for his own sake.

and as much as i, like, really fundamentally don't want mcu nova, because i'd love one last thing that i love to remain untainted by the mcu, i occasionally see comments like "oh no rich won't meet the gotg, what's even the point of him being here!" idk, fam, maybe because he has stories that have nothing to do with them that could be adapted? because he's his own character?

So my new job is in a SUPER fancy/rich part of the city so I was like "I'll bet they'll probably have nice clothes at the local goodwill" and found one like a mile from my job.

Y'all when I say I was in White People Hell™ Good Will...

First off, it's built like a boutique where there are none of those plebeian long racks filled with clothes. No everything is in those little circle racks sorted, not by SIZE as one would expect. Oh no, that would be far too common. Instead it was sorted by color. Except they kept splitting up the colors so they weren't even GROUPED by color.

Now, ya girl is a cheap-ass and this new job is going to require professional clothes which NGL I haven't worn professional clothes in over 20 years. I've spent the past 4 years in my food stained night clothes. And now I have to be an actual adult. But I ain't shelling out 70 bucks for a pair of pants and 50 bucks for a shirt.

The good news about this White People Hell™ Good Will is that 75% of the stuff they are selling there was new with tags. I got two pairs of slacks, two shirts and a skirt for like 30 bucks which, I ain't complaining about and all of them were new with tags. Which? Hell yes, not having to pay full retail AND recycling clothes that don't end up in a landfill? Yes, please.

I sadly did not find a good jacket or a cardigan I can use for work but I should have at least 2 weeks of tops and a week and a half or bottoms.

I'll be honest, I don't understand y'all's beef with this post???

1) cordycepfem's reply focused solely on autism, autistic children, and framing one specific example as problematic despite OP being a general autism & ADHD blog. The post in specific only says neurodivergent as well, which encompasses... a lot of things (dyscalculia, dyspraxia, dyslexia, misophonia, etc.) The data cordycepfem presented suggests that if, by virtue of 30% not being able to read it engage with online autistic culture, 70% of autistic people still could read an encyclopedia.

2) Repetitive behaviours/habits and an intense obsession with a subject or concept is literally a core aspect of autism? Just because the examples aren't general enough for you to personally relate to doesn't mean these aren't common expressions of autistic behavior.

Like, hundreds of children read the encyclopedia during their school years, but most neurotypical kids don't pour over encyclopedias throughout the entire year because they have a hard time communicating with others and are trying to learn how to better articulate themselves, or buy one to read after school is over because they developed a special interest in English.

3) Even if it doesn't fully destigmatize it, autistic people are literally getting bullied anyway for being autistic and are often subject to worse treatment when officially diagnosed. NT people moving the goal posts and expecting all ND people to act the same is the issue, not people possibly misidentifying their behaviour as ND and questioning it.

At the end of the day, I'd rather be a kind fool and give people the benefit of the doubt than be an ableist dick and possibly deny a ND person resources or community.

It was finally the day of your "date with Eric." The only person you could really tell was your mom but then she was over protective, about being with a guy alone. You were beyond excited. You could really be yourself around him. I mean of course you were still nervous as hell and worried wheather you looked good or not.

You walked in seeing Eric at the counter.

"hey y/n I got us a table."

"oh thanks. What a gentleman." He walked you over holding out your seat for you.

"that is i... You look really nice by the way."

"thank you", you blushed. "So how was school?"

Another update I need to make: my teeth.

So y'all know I finally went to the dentist and it was baddddd. I had 5 cavities and severe gengivitis that was almost into the bone.

I went back on Thursday and got the rest of my cleaning done and 2 cavities filled. They do cavities by side of the mouth so next Friday I get the last 3/right side done. One of the ones they did on Thursday was the very back bottom tooth and I guess because of where it's at they had to do a nerve block. I was already nervous just because I haven't had dental work done in years and then they pulled out the shot for the nerve block. Holy shit. My heart almost pounded right out of my chest. 😂 but boyyyy I was really numb. The fillings were so quick and easy. I really love the office I chose. It's mostly women and they're just really nice and compassionate.

I already scheduled my next cleaning and I know if I schedule them in advance I'll keep up on it. So every time I go I will just schedule the next one. I cannot cannot cannot let my teeth get that bad again.

I also got a new, really nice toothbrush. It's an Oral B electric and it retails for like $200 but the dentist office sells it at cost so I got it, 4 brush heads, a full size thing of toothpaste, full size floss, and a mouthwash for $85. The toothbrush is soooo nice. I've never had an electric one (wtf? have I been living under a rock?) but it makes my teeth feel so clean. It has a pressure sensor that tells you if you're pushing too hard. Times for the 2 minutes you're supposed to brush and vibrates every 30 seconds to move to the next section of your mouth. I'm way too excited about it. 😂 I also ordered a Waterpik because honestly.. I just don't floss. I got that for free though (retails like $70 on Amazon) because I had some rewards points at work that I used on it.

Anyways. Gonna be 30 in March. Time to get my shit together.

I had reached home before Y/n and Clint, probably because the man had decided to go slower and more careful due to Y/n riding with him.

Clint used to be always so protective of her, he still was.

The blond man took the fiery girl under his wing as soon as we both started to date, treating her like a little sister, even if that meant arguing with me or lecturing the shit out of her.

Now Y/n could barely trust Clint anymore, and I had to carry that weight over my shoulders, just like I had been carrying it for the past year.

I lost my train of thought when the roaring engine of Clint's bike got louder and louder, until I was able to see them, seconds before the bike was parked.

She climbed off first, and was closely followed by Clint, who came directly to me, stopping just an instant long enough to spat on my face "next time I'll take her to grab a goddamn coffee, and you'll fuckin' stay here."

After that, he passed by me and walked up the few wooden stairs of my porch to open the main door.

"He's mad." Y/n stated, intentionally slowing her steps right before reaching my side, probably for me to take the cue and fall into step with her.

"Yeah." I replied shortly, walking to the door, left open by Clint. "you both got plenty of reasons to be pissed at me."

I didn't need to look at her to know she was about to say something she needed a second to think of.

"Not really. At least not this time." I steal a side glance at her, just in time to catch a casual shrug accompanied by a peek at my form. "You were just being honest with me, so yeah."

I really didn't know what to reply to that statement, which caught me completely off guard.

"Listen" she kept going as we entered the hall "I'm running on three hours of sleep and a bad coffee, so don't take anything personal." she added jokingly, which surprised me even more.

"I'm running on zero hours of sleep and a bad coffee." I finally responded, taking off my leather jacket to leave it on the coat rack. "So don't worry 'bout that."

She nodded understanding whilst handing me the helmet for me to lay it besides mine. "Did you find anything so far?"

" 'Bout Tasha or 'bout the mole?"

"Both, I guess."

I shook my head no before motioning her to climb upstairs, which she quickly complied, allowing me to follow her.

"Nothin' useful." I answered as we entered the living room, where Sam and Steve were waiting. "Where's Rhodey?"

"Sleepin'." Sam informed us, giving Y/n a quick glance before letting his brown eyes come back to me. "Clint's gone upstairs to get your laptop."

"What're y'all planning on doing with a laptop, Google Natasha's location?" Y/n questioned sarcastically, and when all eyes were on her, she realized what she had just said. "I'm sorry I just... No filters when I'm tired."

Sam shook his head dismissively, throwing himself back to the couch. " 'S okay. We're all in the same mood right now."

"That's great," Y/n nodded, crossing her arms over her chest. "we'll sass the shit out of each other until we pass out." she ran her fingers through her hair. "what you gonna do with the laptop?"

"Us? Nothin'." Steve replied, leaning over and resting his elbows on his thighs. "You're the one who gotta use it."

She frowned, glancing at me before taking off her jacket and throwing it over the chair's backrest. "Care to explain?" she sat down in one of the couches.

"Can you hack Natasha's phone?" Sam requested as Clint entered the room silent with the only goal to leave the laptop over the coffee table.

"I mean-" she knew she could, we all knew that was child's play for her, something she'd do with her eyes closed, but Sam wasn't asking if she was able to do that.

He was asking if she was willing to do that.

Y/n pursed her lips and squinted her eyes, thinking how should she abord it before giving us a reply.

"Yeah... Yeah I can, but it'll take me a while." she finally answered. "it's been months since I did something like this, and I'm hella tired."

"It's fine," Steve assured her "just take your time."

"No, man" Clint retorted, spinning around to face the blond former soldier. "don't tell her that when-- no, alright?" he turned back to Y/n with distress peeking out of his eyes. "you gotta be as fast as possible."

"Barton-" Sam warned him.

"He's right, though, don't sugarcoat it." she interrupted, well aware that we had little time to find our friend, and the more time she took to do this, the lesser possibilities of finding the redhead we had. "If I'm not quick, we're fucked."

I crossed my arms and shared a rather worried look with Steve before letting my eyes travel to Y/n.

"right?" she rhetorically questioned as her eyes got locked with mine for a hot second.

The stressed out look on her face as she stared at me made me desperately want to take some of pressure we have just placed over her, off her shoulders, but I really had no way to do that.

She felt that, I saw it in her eyes just as she looked away.

"Anyways" she cleared her throat and started typing the password she, apparently, still remembered. "Let's..." she made the briefest pause, peeked at me, and then kept talking. "get to it."

I realized too late that I hadn't changed the laptop's home screen yet; that picture of her, becs and me messing around after a fun night at the bar was still there.

I almost felt like I was going to blush.

Just as she stared typing, a phone rang.

"Shit."

Her phone, to be more precise.

She picked it out of her pocket to check who was calling, and suddenly her face somehow dropped when she saw the screen.

"Fuck... Okay, hold on-" she left the laptop back over the coffee table and, getting up, she picked up the call. "Hey."

Silence.

"Yeah, just a 'hey'. What were you expecting, honestly?" She opened her eyes widely and clenched her jaw. "two weeks, no calls. You really don't deserve anything but a 'hey'."

I looked at her confused while the rest of the boys exchanged looks.

She huffed. "yeah well, good mornin' to you." whoever it was, they were making her fume. "listen, it's really not the greatest time for-" she pinched the bridge of her nose. "no-- yeah- yeah now I get to choose when's a good time for this-- Don't 'babe' me 'cause I swear to fucking—" walking to the door, she mouthed a 'gimme a second' to me. "you have 30 seconds, I really don't have time for this— yeah I don't have time for you-- no, don't play the victim here."

READER'S P. O. V.

"Are you serious right now?" my silence as a reply gave him the cue that I wasn't bluffing at all. He had 30 seconds and then I would hang up. "Fuck 'kay listen, I'm sorry or whatever, but I came to your place so I can take you to have a nice breakfast and sort this out, and you're not here and I wanna know why."

I stole a guilty peek at Bucky, whose worried yet confused eyes were laid on my form.

"Your bed's a mess, your clothes are all over the place and-" I could almost see the gears in his head turning just a little bit slower than mine. "did you cheat on me?"

"Why the fuck would I do that?"

"Where are you."

I hesitated for a moment before turning my back to the boys and slightly lowering my voice tone. "I'm at my ex's."

"what the hell do you wan' me to think right now, Y/n?"

"well, not what you're fucking thinking 'cause that's ridiculous as hell." I took a deep breath, regretting my next sentences before they had even left my lips. "a friend's in trouble, alright? I'm helpin'-"

"Your ex. Your helping your fucking ex."

BUCKY'S P. O. V.

I approached the door and rested my side against the door frame, silently checking up on her.

She only held up a finger in front of me, signaling me that she needed a little bit more "Listen, babe."

I froze at those two words, and I felt Steve's, Sam's and Clint's eyes on me the moment they caught the pet name.

"You're fucking jealous-- I said what I said- you're jealous, and I don't have forces to put up with this shit." she ran her fingers through her hair. "3 hours. Don't act like you give a damn-- I'm fine- no, you're not picking me up." her hand ran over her face in desperation. "well you waited two fuckin' weeks darling, you can wait a few hours right? Bye."

She sighed as she hang up, throwing her phone back into her pocket.

"everythin' alright?" I questioned in a low tone.

She stayed there for a second, looking at me before nodding. "Yeah, don't worry." she sighed again and passed by me, taking her seat back. " 'Kay guys, I have until lunch to finish, so you better give me whatever I request real quick, alright?"

"Why?" Clint questioned.

Freddie had never been to an amusement park before, hadn't wanted to go really, but John had begged him to come along and then left him with Aston to babysit while he dealt with his actual children. It wasn't that she had anything against Fred it's just him tagging along on her elbow was keeping her away from the drummer whose attention she wanted. They got onto one of the rides and she saw how pale Freddie was looking and felt sorry for him. It wasn't his fault that he was being a third wheel or that the drummer was off on one of the more dangerous rides that Freddie was not about to get on.

"You can hold my hand if you want" Aston joked looking over at Fred.

"Really?" He asked a little relieved. The two of them chuckled and to Aston's surprise Freddie's black nail polished fingertips interlaced through hers and he looked a little more at ease for the comfort of human contact.

"It'll be fine" she grinned and then the ride took off and the black fingernails damn near dug into her hand in panic.

They had been living together for just over two months and despite not knowing how to boil an egg Roger somehow found a way to get into the kitchen and put things in the wrong spot. He came home from the stall.

"Where is the paprika?" She leveled at him before he had scarcely shut the door.

"The what?"

"Paprika, Rog, the spice that I was going to use for the supper I was cooking us, but I can't ever find anything in this kitchen" Aston said muttering as an afterthought "thanks to you."

"What was that?" Rog said coming over to her and looking darkly with his blue eyes.

"Just tell me where you put the paprika and we'll be fine" she sighed.

"I didn't fucking touch anything in your stupid kitchen" he glowered going to the liquor cabinet.

"Well I still can't find it" she huffed.

"Not my problem" he said swigging straight from the bottle.

"Well if you want dinner it kind of is" she retorted.

"I'll get something out" Rog said dispassionately.

"Fuck you" she muttered and went back to banging through the cabinets in search of the missing spice. She was on her knees with half her body in a lower shelf looking in the back and growing hotter for Roger showing no signs of caring or helping. She smelt the dish starting to burn on the stove and tried to crawl out, raising her head up and whacking it on the shelf above. She let out a round of oaths.

She went over to the stove and moved it off the heat halfway between tears and screaming.

"I'll order something" Roger said standing up.

"I can fucking cook!" She shouted "if only I could find the things I need when I need them."

"Well don't yell at me about it" Roger said and brushed past and out the door.

Aston collapsed onto the floor sitting with her back to the cabinets and started crying. She sobbed into the kitchen towel. So much for her cosy dinner at home with Rog. She was so distraught that she didn't hear the door open and close. She felt her fingers clutching the towel pried open and looked to see a bottle of paprika put into them. She turned her teary red eyes up to Roger's face. He pulled her to her feet and held her in his arms. Softly stroking her hair and planting a gentle kiss to her cheeks.

"Come on, I got us reservations, you can cook your thing tomorrow if you still want to" he looked down at her smiling and put a kiss to her nose and grinned at her in his arms.

I hear two Atlanta Police Officers with missing vehicles called the Mayor and apologized to her for thinking of only themselves, admitted they were afraid that if they were in the same situation they would been fired as the other two in the Rayshard Brooks case and they couldn't allow that to happen to,themselves and the community so they wanted to show what would happen if it did because like me they all saw it as a justified homocide, a honorable weapon's discharge.

But after reading what i wrote last night. They fully regrret their decision and would like to have a meeting with her today, the entire 25 that stayed home for 3 days and they will all drive up to see her, in their personal cars of course.

Of course they got her mussing her mascara and all. Weeping she is. Don't mean she's weak. Just means she knows love. And she knows how evil attacks it and makes love so painful.

Look. I come straight outta the 90s.

Back then... Man. Our history been lost in 30 years. Our soul soul soul filled history. Its gone. It ain't there.

Back in the 90s we had about a 15 year break. From the protests from Vietnam War. Love not War Protests. We had them nice little 1950s with "Hello Technology: introduction to the TV" ONWARD to the "60s Hippies. Make love not War" taking it right onto the 70s which came back with the Civil Rights

So our 90s. Y'all they were the most beautiful. They were the combo of the 60s and 70s.

The riots and protests being taught to me and we made it big as we could with all the best parts of being a Human Rights Activist with brand new only 1990s fluorescent neon dripped could bring in.

That was all lost. Its all gone.

But the fight. The rights. THE TRUTH we went all 1950s and stayed in and raised our kids right. People wanna say shit about the Millennials. But we spoke truth. We spoke from our heart and we let them find,the truth as safe as possible and form their own opinions based on truth alone.

So now people wanna beat our kids. People i went to high school with they got high school graduates. Mine will be 17 this August. Real honest to God birthday and age.

Those are my babies. Our babies. They are our future. In 50 years they're gonna be like old man Bernie Sanders. 70 years old bent over fighting because we're gonna be near dead at 90 and more.

And people neglect and beat and ...

Now they called Lice Officers. Coming in on Native American Reservations claiming unwashed hair bread bugs. Let me tell you something. My daughter and I got lice a while back.. Like 8 years. The only thing that killed them was coating our hair in oil

Lice breath through holes in their exobody. So the oil makes them suffocate to death and die. Furthermore people whom smoke reject lice more frequently than those that don't. It takes me 3 months longer to get lice than a non smoker.
