This blue and gray kaftan with gold embellishments was first worn by Umut Nalbantoğlu as Sultan Mehmed IV in the final episode of Muhteşem Yüzyıl: Kösem (Magnificent Century: Kösem) in 2017.

The kaftan appeared again in the twenty-sixth episode of the first season of Tozkoparan İskender on Yağız Kılınç as Sinan Karayaman in 2021.

It was also worn by Miraç Sözer as Şehzade Mehmed (later Sultan Mehmed II) in the second episode of the 2023 first season of Kızılelma: Bir Fetih Öyküsü (Golden Apple: The Grand Conquest).

The show finally acknowledges the significance of the name Mehmet.

There have been four Mehmets who died young.

- Hatice’s little son (accidentally killed by Hatice herself) in Episode 34

- Hürrem’s son (killed by Mahidevran in the show) in Episode 103

- Mustafa’s son (killed by Süleyman and Hürrem) in Episode 124

- Bayezid’s youngest son (killed in effect by Nurbanu) in Episode 139

All deaths except Hatice’s son’s is about the consequences of the Fratricide Law which was put in effect by Mehmet the Conqueror. Hatice’s son is an early foreshadowing of the other deaths.

I think it is a fairly well-constructed narrative thread. Good job MC!
