                               this night has been one of the more interesting                                ones  yet  since her permanent employment as                                a  geneticist  within  oscorp's  labs.  though  it's                                 been  a  handful  of  busy  months  since  she's                                 been  there,  cleaning  up  after  other  people's                                 messes.  the worst had been the disaster after                                an  intern  forgot  to  put  away  the  acids they'd                                been  analyzing for days at a time and left them                                out overnight.

                                               all that research -- wasted.

               but  this so far took the cake. after all, it                wasn't  every  day  new  york's very own                spider-man stopped her on the streets                when it was well past ten at night.

                               especially not to talk about her boss                                of  all  people   --   her   boss   that's                                 already    tried     approaching     her                                multiple  times  over  the  idea  of  a                                cure.

           Her head shakes before she gesticulates with           one hand. They've been trying and trying to           make this friends thing work, but it always seems           doomed to fail. What more can she do? She wants           him in her life, but they can be what each other wants.           What does he expect from her? This is hurting her too.

                           "We can't keep doing this, Peter.                             I can't keep waiting for you to be                             ok with all of this. I can't keep                             waiting for you to open up to me.                             I'm not a mind reader!"
