@xscottlang “Time for me to tag in.” Barbara had been spending less nights at the Mousehole; she actually reason to return back to her apartment more nights than not lately, which was nice and complicated in a way she was still trying to figure out. Oracle was portable, she had a set up at home separate from her master at the Mousehole that definitely got the job done for nights away. However, she had to leave the tech side of things behind. She might nudge the rest of the tech team with questions (might being loosely used, she absolutely did) and bring a few things with her to work on or code, but the majority of that work stayed behind. It was weird for her, considering just how damn hands on she liked to be and how delegation left a sour taste in her mouth but she had to admit it was nice to have a team she didn’t hate working with and that she knew was competent. “I miss anything interesting?” Doubtful, considering she’d checked in a few times, but still didn’t hurt to ask.

The flash from the camera was obnoxious and absolutely unnecessary - in fact, she’d turned it on purposefully once she’d spotted him (considering, y’know, having a flash on when one is trying to take photos inconspicuously on job-related-business is a big no no, private investigating 101). But the urge to be cheeky was too strong as she’d filtered her way through the crowds in town once she’d spotted him, firing off three quick photos to have the flash go off in his face. “‘Sup, Lang?” There was a big grin behind the camera as she lowered it, turning off the flash before letting it hang from the strap around her neck. “Are you stalking me now?” Two run ins in just a few weeks, more than she’d seen him in ...well, in a decade. “Only fair considering I definitely internet-stalked you for a few years.” And had stopped right before things had gotten interesting, apparently.

A prototype? Her interest piqued as Scott tilted the screen of the tablet in his hands for her to see. She didn't understand the blueprints on it, but that didn't really matter in the light of a new discovery
"Your ants are building you a cannon?" Stephanie gasped eyes turning down more carefully to the ground. As she looked, yes, she could see what Scott was talking about and a bright grin flashed on her face as she noted the still ants and the tiny prototype they had half-built. "Whoa- how do you even get them to do that?"
batgirlxrising:
“Oh- sorry, my bad.” Steph stepped away from the man, giving him a thin smile that he would never see. Peering over his shoulder had been a bit rude- then again, she wasn’t known for her good manners. Shifting to the side and coming up alongside him so her shadow would pass next time them rather than over his work, she raised an eyebrow.
“What’re you doing? Looks pretty complicated,” she said, curiosity palpable.

When Steph stepped away, he gave a grateful smile to show no hard feelings. He was continuing his tinkering and with his ants, he then glanced at Steph when she peered over his shoulder, why? Why? “I’m putting together a prototype.” He explained then commanded the ants to pause for a moment.
“It’s a cannon that’s built to stun.” Scott showed her his tablet with the plans on it. “I’ve shrunk down the pieces and now the ants are putting it together.”

She had been easing her way through the Mousehole, snacking lazily on chocolate covered peanuts as she walked, her gaze flitting back and forth as she looked for anything interesting. She was easily bored here, she found, despite having her sister around. She was antsy to get out and get started on the work they had to do.
Still, for now, she had to wait. Yelena spotted a half-ajar door to what seemed like a laboratory and let herself in, prodding thoughtlessly at the instruments around. The footsteps behind her were unfamiliar so, she let out a considering sound.
“Hi,” she drawled, glancing over her shoulder at him and waving her fingers absently. “This looks weird,” she said, poking one of the items.

Charlie was bored, quite frankly.
Look, she had made the promise to Babs and Helena that she would keep up with classwork! She had! So yeah, she had been tucked in the library for the past hour, slowly working her way through a history essay about textiles and fabric dye in Georgian London but also, the words were starting to swim and she was sure that the portrait of George II on her textbook was starting to look at her funny.
So she slammed the book shut, saved the document and bounced out of the library, leaving the papers faintly fluttering as she did so. She could go back later. Just a little break to clear her head!
Her bounce took her down into the second subfloor and humming, Charlie began to poke around in all the rooms. Boiler room? Boring. Cistern? Boring. Armory? Definitely something to remember, even if Helena and Babs would kill her for thinking about it. Laboratory? Boring. Although...unless her eyes did deceive her, someone was in there working on what looked like some type of tech. That was interesting.
Charlie considered the door then considered the bounce. No competition.
Whoosh.
"Whoa, what's that?" She asked brightly, peering over the stranger's shoulder.

Scott had been trying to haggle for this piece for a good five minutes and when it seemed like he wasn’t getting anywhere, the vendor finally came to an agreement on a price which Scott made the point of grabbing before they could change their mind and slapped the money into the outstretched hand. After bidding the vendor a farewell, Scott slipped out, pleased as punch with himself.
“Hm?” Pausing, Scott pushed the device into his pocket (just in case the other was there to rob him). “Oh, they’re the usual, drive a hard bargain. I don’t blame them though, I mean, take a look around.” He gestured around. “Not exactly the Hilton at Centrall Park is it?” Scott shrugged. “What are you on the hunt for?”
...
Warren followed the other’s gaze around the market, nodding in agreement. “You got that right.” While the country had made remarkable progress in their efforts to rebuild, there was still a long way to go. And besides, even before Ultron and the decimation of Novi Grad, the war torn country had certainly seen its fair share of struggles. Maybe this time, the restoration efforts could help set the country on a path to peace.
He noted the other slip the device into his pocket and adopted a friendlier, relaxed position, keeping his hands where the other could see them. “I not really looking for anything particular today.” He shrugged. “Mostly just trying to get a lay of the land. I heard this place was a pretty popular spot, so I figured I would come take a look.” He nodded towards the shop the other had just come from. “Pretty impressive that you can haggle that well in Sokovian. I’ve only learned a few words and phrases so far, and I don’t think the locals are very impressed by my pronunciation.”

Elektra sat at the nearby bar. It was a dumb to say the least but what did you expect in a small European place that was torn apart by war itself? It wasn’t like she was expecting room service of the sorts. However, she did expect them to know how to make a decent drink. She swirled the poorly made Manhattan cocktail as she glanced around her before her eyes settled on on strange man who seemed to be showing something on his table. Some trick with cards.
Elektra watched for a moment before she spoke up. “He has the card you picked up his sleeve.” She called out as she stood up, the sound of her shoes against the floor boards as she got closer. “It isn’t magic. It is an parlour trick at best and a terrible trick at worst.” She swirled the drink in her hand again, like letting oxygen get to it would make it taste any better. “I assume you have something better to impress the locals with? Any hats and rabbits laying around?”

Their time at the Mousehole, while pleasant and vaguely familiar thanks to its similar - albeit distinctly less golden - structure to Asgardian palaces, was starting to wear at Sif. They could feel a familiar restlessness growing within them and so, she had elected to take a trip down to Matchak. It had been a nice, easy hike for them, especially in the pleasantly warm climate of the spring.
By the time she made it to the market in Matchak, she was in high spirits, eyes bright and ponytail swishing as she eased her way through the crowds. A particular face caught their attention and Sif sidled up to the man, an easy smile on their face as they considered the little trinkets before the pair of them.
"They are very charming, I must admit."

Warren walked through the open air market, glancing at the wares in each stall. He moved slowly enough to see what was being sold, but quickly enough to avoid being engaged by the shop owners. What was this place called again? He glanced down at his phone, currently open to a GPS. Jankeza Street. Right. He committed the name to memory, trying to place the location in relation to the other places he'd been so far in the city. It wasn't too many so far, though he suspected that wouldn't be the case for long. But luckily, if all else failed, he had an aerial view of the city if he needed it.
His attention was drawn to a shop a few stalls down where a man was seemingly haggling for some sort of tech part, in what Warren noted was surprisingly good Sokovian. He folded his arms, leaning against the support beam of the nearby stall, watching as the deal progressed, got slightly heated, and then finally reached an agreement. The shop owner grinned as the part and money were exchanged, clearly one to enjoy a good barter. As the buyer left the shop, walking down the street towards him, Warren raised a hand in greeting. "You seem like you've been here a while. How are the deals today?"

At least it was a nice warm evening, Scott had taken advantage of the grounds being quiet to tinker there instead of in the basement or somewhere dark and dingy, he didn’t mind it but some times he wanted some fresh air so here he was, blue print out, all kinds of metals in front of him and his ants helping out to put the prototype together. He hoped this one worked and not send him flying across the grass.
When a shadow lurked over his shoulders, he didn’t glance up. “Mind giving me some more light there? Kind of need it.”
