HI OKAY YES I HAVE A LOT OF THOUGHTS ABOUT SWTOR AND I’M GONNA YAP A LOT SORRY ABOUT IT

first of all, lore wise, swtor is set 3650 yrs before a new hope, in the same setting as the kotor games (idk if you’ve ever played them) but a little more into the future. the basic class stories (which i assume is what you’re playing rn) start at the end of a cold war between the galactic republic (the same one you see in the prequels) and the sith empire (no correlation to the galactic empire from the original trilogy). said uneasy peace has been broken and the two factions are in an all out war again after a peace that lasted for ten years. honestly swtor lore is HUGE so it’s likely that you’ll encounter many concepts that are new, just take it easy and google stuff (the game also has a codex with entries that get unlocked as you play through it). if you want you can watch this video, which is a compilation of lore made by bioware that details the events leading up to swtor (though be warned of spoilers for kotor 1 and i guess 2 in the later half of the video), or this one that is shorter and just covers the basic timeline. but once again sw lore is huge so don’t feel ashamed about not knowing everything!

talking about xovin… should i give her a surname 🤔 she called herself xovin ztarn during her childhood since that was the surname of her adoptive family and then became xovin munt when she was in alderaan but she has never used it after the downfall of her house… she’s pretty used to instability so i imagine she has trouble using a surname and permanently associating herself with someone or something else because she feels they will eventually go away

still thinking about xovin once again and i’m pondering how awful (even though she never realizes it) should her foster and eventual adoptive father be. for reference he’s awful in the “yells at his preteen kids for not knowing how to cook dinner and tells them they won’t get anywhere in life” way but out of xovin and her siblings she’s the golden child for Reasons

xovin is truly the Character of all time for me…. i love showing her to new people and everyone thinking that she’s pretty and wanting to kiss her and i’m giggling to myself because i haven’t unveiled the Full Lore yet. don’t get me wrong you’re absolutely allowed to like her but do it with the knowledge that she’s a horrible person ❤️
