THAT ASIDE ummm where would they go indeed... marius has the money and mael has no qualms with making him even just a penny poorer so thats not a problem. we know mael is both really fascinated (pestered jeese about what chocolate tastes like) and really wary (pestered jeese about planes being susceptible to randomly blowing up) of the modern world while marius has always been comfortable walking amongst mortals. so thats food for thought as well.

maybe something like a shopping center? or fair events, etc... anything with variation, i suppose. they have a lot of options to choose from and can figure out what they dont/do like. mael spends the longest time at the department store i imagine. marius is his worst at bookstores and galleries you'd have to rip his feet off the floors for him to leave 😭.

and given marius' obsession with preservation he'd take ten billion pictures and is somewhat hesitant to include mael in them but he might as well. which also ends up in ten billion pictures of mael so thats embarrassing on marius' part... never beating the tsundere allegations and neither will mael because he'll be even a little flattered 🤔

like..... despite knowing damn well otherwise bc of all those times mael tried educating him in gaul, marius isnt convinced mael can read beyond like. the average level at best. so when mael does read to him again, marius is confronted with the fact that 1) mael is smarter than he thinks (bad) and 2) he was wrong (even worse) he has an aneurysm. mael doesnt care much for what marius thinks though (save for marius' eyebrow twitching being mildly amusing), he's a refined reader either way.
