hello and good evening to all of you. 

with the sudden rising of natural catastrophes, latin american became no exemption since yesterday night.

as of now, it’s been a whole day since the south side of mexico and guatemala were hit with an earthquake of magnitude 8,2. the most affected zones in mexico are oaxaca, chiapas and tabasco, specially smaller towns that have almost minimal chance of a quick recovery. there’s also a severe tsunami warning (which has been released for the entirety of central america and ecuador) and in the other side of the country we are already about to face hurricane katia.

these are extremely humble people and now plenty lost their homes to the awful infrastructures and minimal support provided through the years. given these are either fishing or agricultural towns. some resources lack in these areas, as they are not major touristic points nor a central zone. our own government barely payed attention to them and now they desperately need aid. 

the most affected have been the elderly, the ill and children. 

hospitals in oaxaca have evacuated the sick to the outer areas and placed them inside tents, as they have nowhere safe to go. this is inhumane, they have no means of keeping the hospital up and working. a person already died thanks to a blackout, showing they are by no means prepared in case there’s an energy shortage again.

juchitán (oaxaca) almost disappeared, news revealing they have NO food and how most houses crumbled.

today mexico city was hit with an 7.1 earthquake. on my side we are okay but not so much on other parts, so i may just be focusing on what happened today for a while. like volunteering, since that’s the most pressuring matter at hand. if i find some means to make donations i will definitively make a post but for now please keep the people in your thoughts.

i have to keep apologising for my inactivity. first, i got sick. so no drive to write. now, my cat needs to be hospitalised and my emotions are all over the place, which is why i can’t focus on bringing the cool ol’ goth doc vibe when i’m crying my eyes out for my sick baby.
