Personality: The old man himself is quite secretive of his own past, an enigmatic man from Fontaine who travelled to Liyue to reside there. Although he has successfully run a legal casino, much to some of the members of the Qixing’s disappointment, he has never done anything crude and unjust before... sort of. 

At least, nothing to do with money, he still plays fairly in the market. For years, people have respected and fear him, for his wealth, power and how intimidating he imposes to the public, a seemingly cynical businessman. 

On the contrary, Xing is actually a soft hearted person. Though he doesn’t show it to most people to keep up his public image, Xing cares for his children, biological or adopted, he sees them all as his family, sometimes though, he covers it up.

Despite his extreme wealth, Xing is surprisingly modest, and also a vegetarian. He seems to like the dish of Hand torn cabbage (Shou si yuan bai cai; a dish where you tear the cabbage and fry with some seasoning. I like it lolol-) in particular.

Xing is an intelligent old man, and recalls a lot of things and picks up on even the smallest details, showing that he’s very attentive. Straightforward and blunt, he’s very a very honest person and will not hesitate to say out loud what’s in his mind when he wants to. A little sarcastic though, especially with some of his humor, even dry humor-

Xing despite being a cold and harsh person at first sight, respects the traveler and trusts them. He also likes collecting things like gemstones and somehow envelope designs from around Teyvat.

What other characters think of Xing

Zhongli: He has mix feelings towards him. While he does not like the fact he’s running a casino in Liyue, he respects his care towards the children he has adopted, and respects he still abide to the laws of Liyue. All in all, he’s okay with him.

Ningguang: Same reason with Zhongli, but she also likes the tea and conversations he makes. He has quite the humor.

Ganyu: A little skeptical towards him, but very much respects he has a heart for his children and that he hasn’t done something troubling with the Qixing, except maybe his casino, but nothing illegal.

Keqing: Pretty much hates him for running a casino. She is relieved that Xing has never carried out illegal business in Liyue, she feels he’s ruining the image and “creed” Liyue upholds.

Xiao: He doesn’t really care much, but he respects him for caring for his own children.

Yanfei: She finds his business skeptical, but still respects that he abides to the rules of Liyue, so he’s fine in Yanfei’s books.

Childe: He’s alright with him. He just thinks Xing’s a cool, hip old man. He’s good in his books, especially how he cares for his children. He respects that.

Scaramouche: The fatui respects him, and he shall too. He’s never really interacted with Xing too much, but he likes the conversations he brings up and respects his intelligence and straightforward attitude, though sometimes if it’s to insult him it’s irritating.

Signora: Respects Xing. His humor is quite funny, and he is very knowledgeable and straightforward with no funny business whatsoever. She respects that.

Lyric: His biological niece. While she doesn’t like him occasionally smoking sometimes, she is very fond of Uncle Xing, and know he’s a good person at heart.

Mana: She loves him as a father figure. She looks up to him, sometimes trying to learn how to be a catalyst herself, seen while combining her scythe polearm with catalyst based moved as inspiration from Xing. She thinks he’s awesome.

Thelonious: Nious, like Mana, also looks up to his uncle. While he doesn’t really like he’s running a casino, something Xing has been trying his best to hide, he thinks his uncle sharing his vast knowledge, and sharing stories of Teyvat is something he really enjoys.

Ana: Ana is the precious jewel of Xing, well, everyone is but Ana’s the youngest. She feels most safe with Xing, and he loves it when he shows her all the gemstones he collects and Xing telling stories to her and Nious.

Elemental Skill: Feathers from the Storm

Creates a mist from three peacock feathers swirling around him from his command in an AoE, dealing with AoE Electro DMG. Every four seconds, within 20 seconds, 1) Deals with Electro DMG with opponents, 2) Regenerates HP of character within the field, 3) Dealt as a shield with DMG Absorption.

Press: Fires off 5 Feathers.

Hold: Fires off 10 feathers, plus the ones used for Regenerating, but shield remains, gaining a 75% DMG Absorption Bonus.

Elemental Burst: Bolt of the Peacock

Summons a peacock illusion made with Electro Energy, before it fires away its feathers turning into lightning bolts, launching surrounding opponents.

A big peacock feather would continue emitting lightning towards opponents with Electro DMG for so long as it persists.

Rewatching Guardian - Episode 06 Part 2/2

SPOILERS for upto episode 40, SPOILERS for the novel.

I kind of agree with Zhu Hong on this.

But I also don’t really blame Ji Xiao Bai all that much.

As I said, just sucks for everyone.

As if you’re not already gone for him.

Zhao Yunlan’s crush on Shen Wei is so cute xD

How does Bai Yu still look that good from that angle in that position???

Zhao Yunlan and Da Qing, a pair of cat brothers. Just look at the way they sprawl! xD They are both cats.

Way to go, Zhao Yunlan. Character development there, albeit mostly off-screen.

The entire point of the SID becomes a matter to be questioned when you think about it.

They are to arrest every Dixingren on the surface even if they haven’t done anything, only because they are on Haixing at all as that violates a treaty that says Dixingren must remain in the barren wastelands that is Dixing and are not allowed to see the damn sky.

Dodgy stuff.

Kudos to Zhao Yunlan for getting to this point despite being surrounded by anti-Dixingren propaganda his whole life. In fact, it’s awesome he had accepted Chu Shuzhi in his ranks 3 years ago when he was even less inclined to regard Dixingren kindly and/or fairly.

What is with the ominous music, lighting, editing and everything?? xD

Like, what would happen should Shen Wei find Zhao Yunlan and Da Qing snooping through his home and confront them that would be so awful?? Lmao.

The editing made Shen Wei look novel Shen Wei level scary sdfghjkl Idc if Shen Wei’s based off of him, drama Shen Wei is too soft for all this.

Shen Wei having noticed that this man is not quite Kunlun at the moment, is investigating Zhao Yunlan and the SID to see how much he can trust them, while helping them out in secret from the shadows. That’s heartbreaking, as usual and makes a lot of sense.

Just the mention of the Justicier/Regent makes me feel so uncomfortable ugh

Btw, this was the scene that taught me how to light a cone incense without burning myself. ^^

First of all, he sent Chu Shuzhi. CHU SHUZHI of all people.

I understand his reasoning: should Professor Shen suspect Chu Shuzhi it’s fine because Zhao Yunlan can easily go “oh he doesn’t answer only to me” or something like that and keep his ‘friendship’ with Professor Shen. (Ignoring how that would be absoulutely dumb and useless)

But he sent something so tacky with CHU SHUZHI! xD

Chu Shuzhi’s like “just grin and beAR IT---”

Meanwhile, Shen Wei’s subtle scoff and his subtle expression when he asked Chu Shuzhi to tell Zhao Yunlan he said thanks actually sent me to the moon lmao That was TOO MUCH XD

Peak comedy.

Interesting.

But also, that’s not entirely true, is it? Sure, Chu Shuzhi doesn’t show respect to Zhao Yunlan the way he does to Hei Pao Shi, but that’s just because Zhao Yunlan’s leadership style is very different.

Sure, he’s here because it’s the only option that was presented to him where he’s get to live without getting whipped and tortured, imprisoned for all his life. But still, if he disregarded some of Zhao Yunlan’s orders, what’s Zhao Yunlan gonna do? Throw him out and offend Hei Pao Shi? Lol. Chu Shuzhi’s smart enough to have thought of that.

But he still listens to Zhao Yunlan and actually works pretty well with him.

Anyhow, Chu Shuzhi clearly respects Zhao Yunlan’s authority enough if Zhao Yunlan managed to send him on such an errand. xD

And Chu Shuzhi’s respect towards Shen Wei clearly isn’t because he knows. He’s as clueless about Shen Wei as the rest of the SID.

I just can’t get over the fact that Zhao Yunlan pretty much forgot about this camera in Shen Wei’s office. He never again referred to it until the Cong Bo case where he actually admits to have forgotten about it. What a waste.

Zhao Yunlan is spot on but till his last breath, Shen Wei just didn’t get it. TT~TT

Why is he like this? Why did he turn out this way? Because this attitude of his, to this extent, is illogical and it’s unhealthy for him and anyone around him. And Shen Wei’s a logical man.

But then again, for almost all of his life he has been alone. And he has the self-preservations instincts of a fire-cracker.

I feel bad for that last joke.

And indeed. If I was one of Shen Wei’s students, I’d consider myself the luckiest student in the entire universe.

We were robbed of watching Shen Wei interact with his students more.

I’ll talk about this in the post for next episode but for now, bask in the glory of Shen Wei smug smile. It’s the best.

Zhu Yilong looked unfairly pretty in this scene.He’s getting mugged ffs.

It’s like Shen Wei’s quiff dropped over the course of the day and the droopy quiff also somehow looks just as gorgeous, if not more.

The case was interesting enough. My expectations aren’t that high lmao.

Lmao i've been thinking about Yang Guo for years because he loses his right arm(well he gets it chopped off by his uncle/mentor's daughter lol) and came out an awesome hero. And here is Jaime being such a lame duck (jk love u babe).

Also adding on besides Return of the Condor Heroes 2008 (a true childhood classic), Liu Yifei has played many amazing roles/Chinese beauties in Chinese films such as Golden Sparrow(forbidden kingdom), Heartless (the four), Diao Chan (The Assasinins), Wang Yu Yan (tian long ba bu)Nie Xiao Qian (a chinese fairy tail) , Bai Qian (once upon a time) . She's basically well known for playing Chinese beauties in dramas. SO PLEASE LOVE AND APPRECIATE HER NOT JUST BECAUSE SHES MULAN.

I don’t think any of you will have any clue what I’m talking about but I’m just suddenly realising another one of my OTPs (Yang Guo/杨过 and Xiaolongnü/小龙女 from Jin Yong’s Return of the Condor Heroes) ALSO features two skilled warriors (martial artists) and the guy loses his right arm what the fuck

They are separated for SIXTEEN YEARS at one point and in the comic books by Wee Tian Beng based on the original novel they have like, the most iconic reunion scene ever, and when I read this at age, i don’t know, EIGHT??? I WANTED TO DIE. TATTOO THIS ON MY EYEBALLS.

Anyway I’m only bringing this up because Liu Yifei played her in 2006??? And she’s Mulan and she’s all over my dash now
