How many pennies weigh 217 pounds?
Xe-Na? XG, my twin, Blackburn??
Stacy O**m??? Sta-Cee = Cee-Sta
In a lifetime of hurt, I was happy.
I had a time that made it all worthwhile. Smashed, snatched and plundered. But, I thought, if I stayed true to my heart, did the right thing, and honored its memory, I could keep a small memento of that to carry me through the rest of this endless maelstrom of glass shards and tears shitstorm you call life.
Now the thing I have held onto as my last lifeline in the Abyss reveals itself as the delightful trope “ the rope your hanging yourself with is a python”.
I have made the wrong choices in my past so many times
I was trying so hard to do the right thing (even if it wasn’t the best for me). I just wanted to have that - to have done it right for once
and now the one thing I had is gone, and I can never have it, even wanting it is wrong, remembering the brief period of happiness it created is wrong and just having had it has been turned into a mockery for all to judge and ridicule.
Last round pick of the litter-box
Every group of things has different qualities represented by the things. But not every quality deserves representation. This is why you always have a “grumpy” or “the grouch”, there’ll be a “happy” or “friendly” or “charming”, even “daring” or “wicked get there turn
but nobody is going to dress up for Halloween as “lazy, incestuous, addict - Skidrow Smurf” or “socially-distant, and insane Apocalyptic-Plague-Bear”. So why is it that out of all the choices available, the ones that are given to me are my least favorite options?
Aquaman ~ Hulk = \S/Sulq’y (in fishnet stockings?) Me SPliSH-SPlASH puny merman
yellow/orange clockwork-steam-punk?
iOSCK-Man’s stinky, pinky, clunky pooh

I can’t wait to buy some of the new “Impotent-Rapist Spork & Friends” action-dolls that are coming out.
All of my dreams have been tarnished into the worst versions of anything I ever could have wished for and I can’t stop it or turn it off

My fantasy epic metal monster love ballad doesn’t sound the same through a faintly septic mental horror slave ball-gag and instead maybe I should just dedicate my life soundtrack as an “synchronic sirens, off-key whistles and horns, clamorings of the traffic jamboree & a cacophony of broken cuckoo clockwork’s grinding gears subtly layered with a high-pitched ringing tintintabulating tinnitus whined-chime incessantly tuning your tiniest bones in a dulcet vibrato of the jþzzbelles’ - on a mixed cassette tape” perfect for meditation or to go to sleep to.

Geoffrey’s ‘cross bike
My daily rider was featured a while back year on The Radavist. Link to that here - http://theradavist.com/2015/08/geoffs-raphael-cycles-touring-bike/#1 -
Tumblr media
This was my ever first custom bike. Rafi, a good friend of mine, had built a dozen bikes or so before he took on my project. It would turn out to be his thirteenth. That was several years ago. We’ve been through a lot together. Countless camping trips, overnights, a couple short tours. I still ride my touring bike as if it were my commuter. I do just about everything on that darn thing.
Tumblr media
Enter custom machine number two, or what I believe was Rafi’s twenty-fifth frame to come out of his shop. I had put in one or two seasons of racing cyclocross on an older Kelly Knobby-X which was too big for me. It wasn’t long before I knew I needed to be riding something more my size and style. Pictured above is how the build first turned out. It was a mix of SRAM Rival that I stripped from my old Look road bike, and a couple of a crucial bits from the Shimano CX-70 line (brakes, cranks, and front der.). I acted thrifty at first, re-using the cockpit from the Look I had to sell in order to finance this new bike. Consider the new, old-stock Mavic CXP 33 hoops, or the dead-stock Vittoria Cross XM rubber (in a color they’ve long discontinued!). Hell, we don’t even see too much mud here in Northern California, so that tire choice was purely a means to an end. And that saddle ~ woof ~ clearly an afterthought!
Tumblr media
Here’s a more current iteration of what I prefer riding on this frame. Still got the Enve fork, Thomson cockpit, and King headset (this time in pink).
Tumblr media
What else, there are Enve bars, some tacky Fizik tape, and a full Shimano ten-speed drivetrain.
Tumblr media
Wheels are a funny story; rear is a 36h Velocity A23 paired to Dura-Ace, which I picked up from a race promoter after my pit wheels got walked off with (stolen? I may never know). The front wheel is a 24h HED Belgium Plus laced with Sapim CX-Ray spokes to Dura-Ace. Both are fitted with my favorite tubeless cross tire, the Vittoria Cross XG Pro.
Tumblr media
You may have gathered my preference to stop with rim brakes (hashtag death before discs). Pictured here are the aforementioned CX70s, but if you want to get technical, those are Kool-Stop inserts (one of the loves of my life).
Tumblr media
I stay clipped in with good ol’ SPDs and rotate on angular contact bearings. I like to gut Shimano external BBs once the stock bearings are dusted, and replace them with something special from Enduro.
Tumblr media
The frame is fillet-brazed, using a unique Columbus tubeset ~ Spirit For Lugs, which is essentially a collaborative product designed by Richard Sachs and Dario Pegoretti. The decal on the seattube calls it PegoRichie. As you may be able to see, there’s a lot of headtube on the front end. This allows a bit more upright riding position for long days in the saddle, i.e., not racing. I’ve done rugged, mixed-terrain, 200k brevets on this bike and I would not want to tackle that kind of ride on any other machine. Slam that stem? No thank you.
Tumblr media
Next time you see this bike I hope to have that Cinelli Unicanitor re-upholstered! The leather has begun to peel away.
Well, that’s that. Thanks for checking out my ride!

CUTTHROAT ULTRA-ENDURANCE MIXED SURFACE / TOUR DIVIDE-INSPIRED / BIKEPACKING
In our family of drop-bar mountain bikes, Cutthroat is the one that was born to run. Cutthroat brings speed to the mixed surface, ultra-endurance bikepacking race scene. Every feature was evaluated and designed to obliterate long distance cycling route and event records. An evolutionary leap forward from the Fargo, Cutthroat is all about speed and comfort; full carbon, Class 5 Vibration Reduction System, and racing-inspired geometry make for a quick bike that won’t leave you pummeled as you ride alongside a rising moon.
