personality:

full of love and kindness, euphemia li britannia comes across as a princess straight out of a fairytale. she’s the third princess in the britannian royal family and thus has led a rather charmed life with such a position in a massive global power. no matter who you are or your origins, she will respect and care for you; as long as you are a person who treats others well, she will return the favor.

she’s rather smart too, having been able to realize her half-brother lelouch is the person behind the masked rebel zero after one proper encounter. she forgives him for all that has happened to this point while he’s been using that role; euphemia understands to some extent even if she doesn’t agree.

she has a tendency to be impulsive and naive about certain matters as well, holding out hope despite situations. euphemia is willing to use her title to get her way and proves it well even at the cost of herself.

history / background:

the britannian noble family is vast and powerful. however, one amongst them would be the darling third princess known as euphemia li britannia.

she’s loving and sweet, looking on the bright side of issues while seeking the best possible solution for all of those around her. on a short visit to area 11 (formerly known as japan), she falls from a window right into the arms of a boy named suzaku kururugi. becoming a sort of tour guide and companion, he takes euphemia (affectionately referred to as euphy) where she asks and it allows them to come to an agreement; they seek to help the japanese as much as they can from their positions.

it’s a rough uphill battle when she’s one of the only people that supports such an ideal though. even her beloved elder sister cornelia is against her in the matter, though doesn’t actively stand in her way. as the sub-viceroy, she’s more of a figurehead than a real person to those around her; a token princess to sway the masses more to their side. she won’t stand for it though, not in these conditions, not when she has more than one stake in the matter. suzaku isn’t her only reason for wishing for things to change for the oppressed. it’s simply a matter of caring.

being taken hostage does nothing to dissuade her either and, actually, clues her into the identity of zero, the leader of the black knights group. after this incident, she’s persuaded to pick a knight… and chooses one suzaku kururugi for the job.

briefly this falls through. he abandons the battlefield without a known reason and dismisses himself from being at her side, resulting in a hurt euphemia. bound and determined to have some control in her stance, she demands one thing: for suzaku to love her and she shall do the same in turn. it’s a new agreement between them, one deeper than their first encounter, and he’s reinstated at her side.

finally though, after fighting with herself and her ideals and how to go about saving those she wishes to save, euphemia makes a breakthrough. in it, she designates land where the japanese may refer to themselves as such again and were given the rights and respect they lost after being colonized and ruled over by the britannian empire for the last handful of years.

it’s here when it falls apart.

her half-brother lelouch, acting as zero, arrives to speak with her about the matter. having learned his identity already, it’s amiable enough. they discuss and the reasons become clear; euphemia not only wants to help those in need, but also to protect their younger sister nunnally and has abdicated her right to the throne in turn for this action.

he explains the power of geass to her, how any command he gives must be followed until the end, for example if…

… … …

euphemia wakes up in a capsule. there’s an oxygen mask over her face and an ache that pulsates from her stomach. suzaku’s there, speaking with her and yet not all of it makes sense. she was there, about to turn a new leaf over for so many, yet now she’s laying down… somewhere else. suzaku keeps looking so worried.

i did a good job, right? they’re happy with what i did, right?

he reassures her. euphemia continues to paint that warm smile over him when his expression becomes fully indecipherable. she lays one last wish upon him; to continue attending school because she couldn’t.

his hand should be warmer than it is. the pressure is there, but everything still feels so cold.

euphy shuts her eyes for the final time.

Alright everyone, for the first time in a long time I feel in a writing mood so I’m going to reflect on this past year, especially because I feel like I hardly talked about it at all. So for those of you who still care or keep up with my life, here are some things I dealt with, suffered through, overcame, and learned this year.

Body Image. I’ve never really told anyone this but for a long time I’ve felt really uncomfortable with my body. I knew it was healthy most of the time and I usually wasn’t concerned with that, but for some reason I just hated it. It just never seemed right. That is until this past year when I slowly became more and more thankful for the challenges my body helps me face every day and the achievements it has led me to. It also helps to dance to fun music in front of a mirror in the morning which I did more times than I care to count :)

Performance. Last year it felt good being the only freshman on the team to attend all of the XC meets. Now I see everyone improving so much and here I am with the same old stuff improving only a little. It wasn’t until indoor when my roommate told me to just go with the lead pack and see what happens. That’s when I had my first race I was proud of all year because I PRed by 16 seconds. It was a small victory but it was enough to carry me through.

Depression. It still wins sometimes but more often I’m winning. And when I need help, I know how to ask for it and receive it without digging myself a deeper hole. I’ve even started setting myself some rules so that I can remind myself how much I am worth.

My major. This past semester, I think I really learned that I love my comp sci major, and I’m pretty good at it too. Several times I have reflected to when I started coding when I was 14 and how my thought process and mindset has really changed.

Learning the meaning of friendship. Okay, this is such a big thing that I’ve reflected on quite a bit recently. Straight up, I barely had friends in high school. Yeah, I knew a lot of people and could strike up conversations, but I always felt like I had a hard time fitting in and thus never had a real friend group. A current friend and teammate asked me recently how many friends I do I have to see when I go back to home. My answer? Two. A weak two at that. But I can’t change that now. Though I am valuing those two a lot more now after having that realization. Aside from high school, in college I have made the greatest group of friends I have only dreamed of having. For once, I can name who my best friends are and for that I am thankful. (PS: One of them is the bread pun dude if anyone remembers that post)

Injury and not letting running consume me. I don’t think I really addressed this all season but within the first two weeks of the outdoor season, we were doing some all out 30m sprints and in the middle of one of them I felt instant pain in three different places along my left leg. Although I disregarded it. It wasn’t until I was two miles into my run that I realized that I would not be able to finish this run and instantly turned around. From that point on, I spent three hours each day doing physical therapy for my groin, outer quad, and glute. Eventually it spread to my lower ab. I was a complete mess, physically. Yet, I have never been so calm in the face of an injury. And for that, I am extremely proud of myself. Because I refused to let all these injuries plague my entire life. So I did my PT and cross training and I endured the worst pain I have felt during races because of those injuries. But I still remained as the team’s only steepler even if it broke down my body some days to the point where I couldn’t run let alone walk right. A teammate described it perfectly, I think. He said that I looked like complete shit every day of the week and before some meets I couldn’t even finish a stride. Yet when it came time to race, I ran like I’ve never been healthier. Looking back, I couldn’t tell you if it was stupid or not. I just know that I am proud of how I handled everything and how I’m continuing to handle it because it all still remains (but I’m seeing a doctor tomorrow).

I feel like my recent posts are all negative about sso recently. So to make up for that and remind us all why we still love the game, here's 10 things I love about SSO. 1. The horses! As a horse lover the well animated horses catch my eye and make me want them all. 2. The plot line. I could on all day about the main story. It's such a perfect blend of fantasy and reality that it makes magic look almost realistic. The plot emphasizes the importance of the bond between horse and rider, the most cherished thing an equestrian has making it seem even better. It isn't just a moral lesson for kids like a lot of games towards the age group targeted by sso are, it's a deep detailed plot that can get quite dark. 3. All of you guys. I wouldn't have met any of you without this game, and I love each and every one of you. I thank sso for bringing us together as friends and as a community. 4. The NPCs. Sso has a lot of unique characters. The soul riders each have a unique personality that sso plans to show even further when they update their appearances. Each character has their own quirks, and while they still don't move around or get any of their own stuff done we still end up loving a good amount of them. 5. Sso took a gaming stereotype and bashed it in the head. Gaming is generally looked at as something guys mainly do and tons of games reflect that only letting you play as a male protagonist. Sso flipped that around and says you have to play as a girl. That's why I get mad when guys are like "sso needs to add guys cause we play it too". Girls have played so many games as guys because there was no female character. Even the first Pokemon games were like this! Putting the guys in our shoes might help them realize what's wrong with a good amount of games or at least accept games with only female characters as well. Kudos to all the male players out there who are perfectly fine playing as a girl and play sso anyway, you are awesome people. You guys can accept a good game as a good game no matter what gender the character is. To sum this one up (it's a bit long oops) I actually like the statement it makes having to only play as a girl. 6. Races. They didn't just go and follow every other horse game out there with either racing on a track or following a certain discipline. They allow us to race cross country, giving equestrians something decently realistic (real XC is timed after all) and people who just like racing something fast paced. It's also something to do when there's no quests. Plus the way leveling and stats works is really fair in my opinion. 7. Their social media presence. As annoying as some parts of this can be, it's nice to see them out there with their players hosting contests, leaving sneak peeks and other things. A good game is usually involved with their players. 8. Humor. Sso tends to make jokes and make their videos funny. It makes everything a bit more engaging. 9. Redeem codes. A lot of games don't give away anything for free at all. Yet sso gives away star coins and star rider time quite a bit. It's just downright nice of them, and it shows they think of the ones who can't afford to buy star rider. I have a friend who is like level 13 now from just free codes. (I might actually get her lifetime for her birthday in summer if I can afford it). 10. Lifetime. Almost every game is a paid subscription. I'm old enough where I have to buy games myself unless they are gifts, but I don't have a credit card. So I can't buy myself subscriptions unless I want my mom telling me I owe her every *insert time period here*. Lifetime allowed me to actually buy it for myself and not have to worry about it running out. Plus they even have a little free stuff shop and some codes just for lifetimes. I saw online someone calculated lifetime was completely worth it if you plan on playing more then 9 months (I think that was the number). I've been on it for almost two years, so I got my money's worth. To anyone else kinda annoyed at sso lately, I challenge you to do this. If a lot of stuff you've said about them recently is negative, give this a shot!

Tulsi Gabbard (HI-02) today announced Jasmine Cadotte, a sophomore at Kalāheo High School in Kailua, Oʻahu, as the winner of the 2019 Congressional App Challenge for Hawaiʻi’s second congressional district. Cadotte developed an app called Fake News Detector, which uses artificial intelligence to sift through news stories on social media and analyzes the credibility of its sources.

“I was inspired to create this app because as a user of technology in our modern society, I am constantly surrounded by fake news that is disguised all over the internet. It can be very difficult to determine whether or not a source is reliable,” Cadotte said. “This tool saves people the time and effort of sorting through news to find out if it is reliable information.”

Second place went to Morgan Dean, a senior at Hawaiʻi Preparatory in Waimea, Hawaiʻi Island, whose app Media Manager helps wrangle duplicate files and unorganized folders. Third place went to the team of Hunter Shields and Conner Kong, juniors at Maui High in Kahului, Maui. Their app Maui XC Maps provides easy access to maps of cross country running routes on Maui. Honorable mention went to the Maui High team of freshmen Josh Patrick Lachica and Jordan Shim. Their app ProgressTracker graphs scores in air riflery to track friendly competition.

Microfiber will trap the lint from cotton towels, defeating the purpose of the wash. Use very little detergent and skip the fabric softener, which will coat the fibers and inhibit microfiber's qualities. Double up on the rinse cycle, and your microfiber will perform at its best. Remove any labels and stitching before you use your towels to avoid scratching.

And remember, you get what you pay for -- those cheapo packs of microfiber from the warehouse store are not nearly as good as the ones you can find at online specialty stores.

Secret #3: Detail your trim first

This tip comes from Jim Dvorak, a product specialist at Mothers Polish. He suggests using a trim protectant/restorer like Mothers' Back to Black before waxing your paint. Wash and dry your vehicle, then apply the trim protectant.

The product will repel polish and wax that might otherwise stain your trim. Some pro detailers use masking tape to protect the trim during waxing -- this application can help save time and cleanup.

Secret #4: Use a buffer to apply product, a towel to remove

Consumers sometimes get confused by the name of the tool, and use a power buffer to remove wax or polish from the painted surfaces of their cars. A buffer can leave erratic swirl marks in your clear coat and paint if used to remove product, that's not what it's for.

Use the buffer to apply wax, and then use a soft, dry cloth to remove it. You'll avoid burning the paint or damaging the clear coat, and you'll wind up with a thin, even coat of wax.

Secret #5: Get a dual action polisher

For just a little bit more than you'd spend on a good direct drive polisher and an orbital polisher, you can get the perfect blend of both tools with a dual action polisher like the Flex XC 3401 VRG, which retails for around $280.

Based in Stuttgart, Germany, Flex has been making tools since 1922, and has been building dedicated auto finish polishers since 1988. The XC 3401 VRG is detailer Randy Lowe's favorite tool for exterior finishes. He says that it will handle 90% of the polishing chores you will encounter.

Meguiars' Dual Action Polisher ($149) is a little more consumer friendly, and a little less expensive than the Flex. It doesn't have the forced rotation, which keeps the tool moving even under a heavy load. Forced rotation is a great feature for an expert who knows how to use it; in inexperienced hands, it can do more harm than good.

Secret #6: Use a clay bar system

This secret may be out of the bag already, but it's such a good one that it bears repeating. There's no better way to remove surface contaminants from paint than with a good clay bar system. Pros have been using clay for years, and consumer versions have been on the market for at least a decade.

A good clay bar system includes a spray lubricant, usually a detailing spray, an 80 - 100 gram clay bar, and a towel. According to Mike Pennington from Meguiars, after washing and drying your car, you rub the clay bar on the paint to remove "bonded environmental contaminants" without removing paint thickness.

The smoother paint surface takes polishing and wax better, and extends the life of subsequent treatments. Meguiars' Smooth Surface Clay Kit retails for $19.99; Mothers' California Gold Clay Bar Paint Saving System is $19.95.

Secret #7: Use a plastic grocery bag to check the paint surface

Hers's another tip from Jim Dvorak at Mothers. Once you have cleaned your paint's surface of contaminants with a clay bar system or other cleaner, it's important to make sure that you've really removed all the dirt before you seal the surface with wax.

Put your hand in an ordinary thin plastic grocery bag, and run it over the surface of the paint. The plastic bag will amplify any bumps and imperfections, so that you can go back and detail again. Keep rechecking until the surface is totally smooth, then polish (if necessary) and apply protective wax.

Secret #8: Dry your glass in two directions

Here's a great tip from Meguiars' Pennington: Dry your glass in two directions. Get into the habit of doing your final wipe of interior glass in a horizontal direction, and the final wipe on the exterior in a vertical direction.

Then, when you find the inevitable streak, you'll instantly know whether it's on the inside (horizontal) or the outside (vertical) of the glass. You'll get perfectly clear glass without jumping in and out of the vehicle chasing that streak.

Secret #9: Brush it first

Pennington says that when it comes to cleaning interiors, mechanical agitation is always better than chemical intervention. That means that your first line of attack is a good brush.

For instance, before vacuuming your carpeting, de-mat the fibers by using a stiff nylon brush. Then, when you vacuum, the dirt will be free in the carpet, and will be much easier to extract. The same goes for door panels, though you'll want to use a gentler brush. If more aggressive cleaning is necessary, start gently, use a gentle solution of fabric cleaner, and dry with a soft cotton cloth.

Secret #10: Make static electricity your friend

To remove stubborn pet hair from your car's carpets, put on a pair of latex gloves (readily available in boxes of 100 from any home improvement store) and then rub your hand over the carpet. The static electricity caused by the latex glove will help bring the pet hair up to the surface of the carpet for easy removal by hand or vacuum.

According to Pennington, there's one part of the car that detailers avoid if at all possible: the headliner. Even a little bit of agitation can cause the glue in a headliner to fail, causing way more problems than it is worth. If you positively must clean your headliner, use very little moisture, and never allow it to soak through the outer fabric.

It's obvious most of us only focus on the top 10, 20, maybe even 50. But there are many choices to choose from, each with so many characteristics and purposes!

A way people have grouped these languages is to put them in different programming levels! A programming language level refers to how closely a programming language resembles the human language and how easy it is for humans to understand and use the said programming language!

By now you must have heard of 'High-level' and 'Low-level' when giving the characteristics of a programming language. Let's take a look!

Higher-level programming languages are closer to human languages and are easier for humans to read and write. Examples: Python, Java, C++, C#, Ruby

Lower-level languages are closer to machine language (the 1s and 0s) and are more difficult for humans to understand. Examples: Machine, Assembly, C, FORTRAN, COBOL

During a battle between Thunderclan and Windclan, Bluepaw’s mother is killed by Windclan’s medicine cat. Both Bluepaw and her sister witnessed this, leaving them mortified by what they saw. Shaken by what she has seen, she falls into a depressed state, losing her mentor to the elder den after he is badly injured in the battle.

Bluepaw is given a new mentor, Sunfall, who helps her learn to love her apprentice tasks again after she becomes resentful to them and the other cats of the clan. After a battle with the Riverclan, Goosefeather, the Thunderclan medicine cat, delivers her a prophecy that she will blaze through the forest like fire, but water can quench fire. After which, she becomes a warrior for the clan, being given the name Bluefur.

During a trip to the Sunningrocks, Bluefur finds Oakheart there and chases him off. However, afterwards, she finds her mind plagued with thoughts of him constantly. Later, her sister announces that she is having her mate’s, Thistleclaw, kits, which upsets Bluefur as she does not care for him much. After giving birth to her kits, Snowfur meets an unfortunate end to a Twoleg monster, and Bluefur becomes the foster mother to Whitekit. She once again distances herself from the clan due to grief, being shaken out of it by Sunstar, the Thunderclan leader, much like he did when her mother died.

Bluefur meets with Oakheart in secret, eventually learning that she is having his kits. Knowing this is breaking the Warrior Code, she asks one of her clan mates, Thrushpelt, to help her keep the secret, which he does because he is in love with her. She gives birth to three kits, Mistykit, Stonekit, and Mosskit. After the current deputy falls ill, it becomes between Bluefur and Thistleclaw, Goosefeather urges her to become deputy, as Thistleclaw will lead the clan to ruin with his bloodthirsty ways. She brings her kits to Oakheart in Riverclan. Unfortunately, the bare leaf that year is especially cold, claiming the life of Mosskit.
