kingdom hearts gets such a bad rep for being overly complicated or hard to follow but its REALLY not that bad. ppl have to realise:
anyone who's like "theres SOO many games" and shows a too huge list is misleading. there are a lot of rereleases and repackages under special titles but when you look at the actual games it isnt that many
90% of disney involvement can be ignored, just think of it like "themes" for the different levels
that being said, it DOES operate on disney magic logic. epic and magical things happen because they just do. don't try to overthink the magic mechanics you'll frustrate yourself. (i think this is where most of the "it doesnt make sense" comes from)
there really isnt much retconning. i can only really think of one really minor one. sometimes the writing can be sloppy but this doesnt make it more difficult to understand unless u nitpick it
yeah it definitely CAN be complicated, theres a huge cast of characters and it takes place over a long period of time, but it isnt impossible to follow, just pay attention and its fine
#99.txt#kingdom hearts#back on my little kick now i got my 3ds back... playing days#also: xehanort is a LIAR. his role is confusing bcause hes A LITTLE SHITTY LIAR abt what hes doing half the time#i will make this plot extremely simple rn#the kingdom hearts itself: big moon. gives all power.#the xblade: counterpart to big moon. all powerful weapon#evil guys want these and do bad stuff to get them. but theyre extremely difficult to make#so sometimes they fail and make the wrong thing (like big door)#hearts are like souls & can persist after death and stuff and inhabit other people (mostly sora)#evil ppl want everypodys soul and sora is like “no”#the end

It's so funny to me (because I find myself hilarious) but I picture Vanitas like... Having his own lil studio apartment, but he's got college amenities, like a plugin cooking range with the single burner, he has no counter space so it chills on a milk crate.
He has a crude mini fridge that doesn't always stay cold, and has like three items in it at any given time. Usually cheese, butter and hot sauce.
He stole Ventus' money and bought himself an electric kettle, which is the nicest thing his owns.
He wasn't too concerned with his sleeping arrangements, but his unversed stole some blankets and decorative pillows for a little "nest" that he just sort of plops onto after a long day of messing with Ventus and Aqua.
-
Alternatively, he lives in a little cave he dug out in the Keyblade Graveyard and has his own lil den because he's just a lil rat.
-
He usually sleeps in hotels/inns because he just doesn't really wanna stay in the graveyard. His Archravens steal enough munny from the Wayfinder Trio to sustain him. He never actually counted it, but he might actually have a substantial fund. But he's too busy with his Xblade vendetta to think long term about it.
#it's beem a while since i made a shitpost like this. theyre so dumb and fun. ive missed it xD#vanitas#kingdom hearts

hi please consider after the initial awkwardness of “hmm i already have identity issues and now there’s this guy who looks just like me?” roxas and ventus face and they become friends. roxas finds out about Ven’s “just put an end to me” attempt at self sacrifice….and becomes fiercely protective of ven in a way. whenever ventus makes a self deprecating comment or brings himself down for anything related to the Xblade/Vanitas/events of BBS roxas is right there with a scowl on his face and “say five nice things about yourself right now or so fucking help me”
roxas already fought so hard for his and xions rights to exist. he’ll fight for ven’s, too, even if the one saying ventus’ existence is flawed is ventus himself.

💫KHOCWEEK 2023💫
Day 1 - Instructions (1/2)
Hiii I'm back this year again with my OCS for the @khoc-week ! I have to say, it's my yearly tradition now ahah it's always so fun to do. Hold and behold my beautiful OCS for this year :
Anis
(He/Him)
Surprise ! Anis is back this year ✨ I'll mostly draw him along side his twin, Bunny, but he deserve a brand new character sheet !
To extend a bit the sheet : post khux, Anis ended up in Scala and Caelum. He started a family all the while continuing his path as a wielder and ultimately a wise master. However, fate wasn't so kin and he was given a task in his older years : taking care of a child said to be the bringer of light. We love some mysterious shenanigans here. The kid is Xehanort imo ahah
Anis is mostly a khux oc but I explored his future a bit more since last time ! It's mostly time travelling shenanigans its mostly silly and fun ngl but I love it
Bunny
(She/her)
Talking about this lady ! Here's Bunny !
Bunny mainly follows the player's story throughout khux. The small BIG difference is that she enters a pod alongside Ephemer and doesn't sacrifice herself. She ends up stranded along side the teenager in the ruin of the once beloved Daybreak town.
As the years tick by, one thing is for sure for the couple : Rebuilding a city is easy but letting go of the past isn't so. Tin tin tiinnnn. We love time travelling silliness in this house so yeah, they are going to time travel for sure. I'm spoiling it lmao but I had to do so much mental gymnastic to make it work
Bunny's was my character in Khux when it was still running. She would have stayed this way if not for the KHOCWEEK !
Mikana
(She/her)
Without any surprise there, Mikana will also be present again this year ! I just can't leave my first keykid behind.
I won't lie, Mikana's canon story as always been VERY murky in my head. I'm not quite sure of a lot of the element ngl. Soooo, she is a child who grew up in a costal town along side her parents, Bunny and Ephemer, and her older Sister Sakore told you there was tile travel shenanigans. The rest is a work in progress ahah I have ideas but for now it's a melting pot of uncertainty.
Peche
(They/them)
Pêche's also back ! So happy to draw them again this year !
My dear Peche ! Ah, their story is a hell of ride the ones who read it last year know it well. To put it simply, Pêche was named Piry before. She was the adopted daughter of Eraqus and Xehanort before Aqua and Terra were born.
As years went by, Xehanort became more and more overtaken by darkness and she was given the Ventus/Vanitas treatment by Xehanort before the boys. Except... it wasn't a great success. The part weren't really as clearly Light/Darkness and we're ultimately a failure. So to try to make it better and on the off chance they could still summon the Xblade. Again, it somehow worked but was on all other aspects a complete failure.
From all those heart experiment, all that was left was a apathetic yet competent fighter who is known as Peche. A very cold and of little word person who seems to know more than they let on.
Unfortunately Tumblr doesn't let me show any more of my kids for this year in this post so I'll do a second part to show them off right away ! I hope the new more info driven sheets are readable ahah I'm a novice in design
#here i am again boys girls and non-binary people#i cant wait to see everyone's ocs old or new this year again#im excited like a small kid really#i hold this event so close to my heart ahah#kingdom hearts#kh#dessin#drawing#dibujo#kh oc#original character#sweeteastart#khocweek2023#sweeteastoc#Sweet kh art

I raise you a canon diverge thing: Hoder and Baldr could probably forge the xblade I have faith in them. Or I have too much stock in my Hoder princess of heart headcanon
ough……..they could forge the xblade. I know it. I don't think it's too much of a stretch to hc/interpret hoder as a princess of light (or simply a heart of pure light, like ven). and baldr as pure darkness? now THERE'S some sibling drama
#not that i think baldr IS pure darkness (because that's not the point of his character)#but there could be a ventus-vanitas sort of situation going on yeah#and hey i don't believe vanitas is pure darkness or that ventus is pure light either so it all works out#kh#khdr#.txt

"I'm out here crossing the multiverse and all of you are growing potatoes in The End?"
A sketch for a little sequel story I came up with for DSMP Season 1 called Emerald Breachers. Starring "XBlade" and Phil as they cross the multiverse.

i’m just saying how did MoM get ahold of thr x blade to study it for the keyblades we see used in khux/used the skills learnt to take in six apprentices. and dubbing himself a keyblade master. who is deserving of that title. sora. who is lost. sora. what is the arc called. lost masters. this has a double meaning. i swear it. like if MoM got ahold of sora’s xblade from kh4 assumably i. don’t know EXACTLY how that’d work but i’m assuming xehanort bequeathed the xblade to sora when sora sealed kingdom hearts so it’s. BASICALLY SORAS which then means woops! conundrum because MoM couldn’t. i don’t think he could just steal it like that. unless, double duh, he was sora. very bare bones explanation but you get the general point. time travel is like. a weirdly big part of kh right now and nomura moves in mysterious ways. trust me when i say i have thought every other path out but rn i’m like. ah. this makes the most sense with what we know about him.
