Introductory Post:

Jude Nicholas West never talks about himself. He is Thompson High’s infamous shrouded student. No one knows who his parents are or if he even had any. Rumor has it, even Thompson’s staff doesn’t know of his background. His anonymity has caused people to think ill of his attitude. Most people have deemed him anti-social despite never having any form of interaction with him. Contrary to popular belief though, Jude is plenty friendly. He might not go out of his way to talk to people, but he’s definitely not going to ignore you if you talk to him. He’s also a pretty good conversationalist, despite being more of a listener. He avoids conflict as much as possible and doesn’t involve himself in anything troublesome. If he ever gets involved in such things though, you can count on him to fix them in his own way and not back out on his word.

He loves art in all forms although he rarely shows it. He has amazing talent but would rather keep it to himself since according to him he doesn’t make art for recognition or credit but for the sake of art. Most people, even his mentors, consider it a shame that he thinks that way. Since he rarely gets accolades, he doesn’t know how to deal with them and may seem ungrateful to some. Despite this, he still appreciates it.

Unknown to most people, he has another gift for science, mathematics and the likes. He doesn’t consider his intelligence to be a talent and tries his hardest to hide it from most people, even to his professors. He has even failed a few midterms deliberately, something that forced him to take remedial classes. During these remedial classes, his professors realized his true ability and tried to talk to him about it, but to no avail. Even after that, he continues to act dumb, much to the chagrin of his professors.

Jude’s first period was Biology. Jude was sitting in his usual seat at the far end of the room when the professor walked in. A girl followed him. “This is Martha Haynes. She’ll be attending this class as of today,” the professor introduced her. She bowed slightly and the professor pointed the seat beside Jude and mumbled something to her. She quickly made her way to the seat.

“Hi. I’m Martha,” she introduced herself, stretching her hand out to him. He shook it.

“I’m guessing he told you that I’ll be your partner for the rest of the semester. Am I correct?” He said while arranging his materials. He saw her nod from the corner of his eye. He sighed to himself. The professor determined pairs according to their skill. The professor practically dumped his job of teaching this girl to him. He smiled at her. “I’ll teach you what you need to know but you can’t rely on me, okay?” He told her before the lecture started. He looked out of the window and sighed to himself. He’s just been assigned to become someone’s tutor and he’s not even going to get paid for it.
