“on a scale of one to ten, how do you feel about nachos right now?”
Tumblr media
the sound he makes would get them kicked out of a church. maybe even a particularly uppity nando's. he is not immune to the wonders of melted cheese on salty crisps. ' oh, i could MURDER a plate. sod a ten, the scale is drive. ' is he the one paying? will he try to weasel it onto her tab instead? who can say.

book recommendation tag game ✨️
rules: recommend as many books as you like. please include genre and some basic information on it (either your words or a copy+paste synopsis). feel free to include cover art, a personal review, trigger warnings, and anything else! just don’t spoil the book!
thanks for the tag @dekarios 🫶🏻
still somewhat getting back into reading after a longer slump so here's some of my go-to favs/recommendations 🤍
BOG CHILD by Siobhan Dowd
Digging for peat in the mountain with his Uncle Tally, Fergus finds the body of a child, and it looks like she’s been murdered. As Fergus tries to make sense of the mad world around him—his brother on hunger-strike in prison, his growing feelings for Cora, his parents arguing over the Troubles, and him in it up to the neck, blackmailed into acting as courier to God knows what—a little voice comes to him in his dreams, and the mystery of the bog child unfurls.
Genre: Historical Fiction
This was on the list of assigned reading for a literature seminar on the Troubles in Northern Ireland I took back in uni so I didn't really expect it to be so nice™ and it quickly became one of my favourite books. It was a lot 'lighter' compared to the others on that list, both in terms of reading level and also the overall mood of the story.
THE POISON THRONE by Celine Kiernan
Wynter returns from a five-year exile in the bleak Northlands to find her beloved homeland in turmoil. King Jonathan's civilised, multicultural realm is no more; the gibbets and cages have returned. Days of laughter, friendly ghosts and gossipy cats remain only in Wynter's memory - the present confronts her with power play, dark torture chambers, violent ghosts, and cats (those still alive) too scared to talk to humans.
Genre: Fantasy
The Moorehawke trilogy was the first book series that really got me into reading as a hobby. While it's been some time since I've read it, this series and its characters still hold a very special place in my heart.
BLOOD OF ELVES by Andrzej Sapkowski
For more than a hundred years, humans, dwarves, gnomes and elves lived together in relative peace. But times have changed, the uneasy peace is over and now the races are fighting once again - killing their own kind and each other. Into this tumultuous time is born a child of prophecy, Ciri, surviving heiress of a bloody revolution, whose strange abilities can change the world - for good, or for evil... As the threat of war hangs over the land, Geralt the Witcher must protect Ciri from those who are hunting the child for her destructive power.
Genre: High Fantasy
This recommendation probably isn't a surprise bc I can never shut up about the Witcher but still. All the love. Technically my favourite of the series is a tie between Time of Contempt and Tower of the Swallow but it makes more sense to recommend the first book of a series.
THE MIDNIGHT LIBRARY by Matt Haig
The books in the Midnight Library enable Nora to live as if she had done things differently. With the help of an old friend, she can now undo every one of her regrets as she tries to work out her perfect life. But things aren't always what she imagined they'd be, and soon her choices place the library and herself in extreme danger. Before time runs out, she must answer the ultimate question: what is the best way to live?
Genre: Contemporary Fiction
One of the few books that I actually put tabs in to re-read certain paragraphs and lines. You know when you just find something at the exact right time? This book was one of those. Made me feel all sorts of things. Made me smile and sob and laugh. Made me feel a little more alive. Also I'm just a sucker for anything butterfly effect/what if.
TW for this one are big so I'm including them: the main underlying theme/premise is mental illness (namely depression) & suicide (attempt)
Tagging anyone who sees this and wants to do it too 💞

why i disliked “the traitor baru cormorant”
so...recently i read Seth Dickinson’s The Traitor Baru Cormorant. i bought it thinking, Cool, an insightful fantasy series for me to get into while i wait to hear whether i passed my qualifying exams! i have some time before the semester starts!
and then i absolutely hated it and spent every minute cataloguing what i thought Dickinson got wrong.
...uh, if you want to get the tl;dr of the liveblog i gave the gf, here’s the top three reasons i disliked this book:
1) not a fan of the “strong female character” trope
yes, Baru doesn’t sling around a sword or shoot arrows better than Anyone In The Whole World. but Dickinson IMMEDIATELY tells us (not shows, tells) that she’s good at math, she’s clever at picking apart strategic scenarios, she’s a savant. (tbh, i don’t love how he shows this, either, with the standard child-prodigy-who-catches-the-attention-of-a-powerful-adult trope.) in Dickinson’s crafted world, her math skills aren’t entirely unusual: women (for...some reason?) are stereotyped as being good at calculations, despite also being aligned with hysteria and too many emotions. this bothers me more than it’s probably supposed to, because the sexism in this novel doesn’t really seem to follow an internal logic. i guess it’s so we can have a woman as the protagonist? also...hoo boy...her “savant” characterization bothers me because...she’s heavily coded as South East Asian (...maaaybe Philippines or Native Hawaii, but as i’ll get to later, Dickinson doesn’t make a huge distinction). uh...model minority stereotypes anyone? yes, within the text, plenty of people associated with the Empire comment that it’s impressive someone of her background got into a position of power so young. at the same time, i’m sure that sounds familiar to so many Asian-identified people! the constant tightrope of being expected to perform to a certain (white, Western) standard while also being Othered. mostly this bothers me because Baru is also characterized as...a sellout for the Empire. sure, her stated goal is to undo the Empire from within, but [MAJOR SPOILERS] in the end it appears that her actual goal was to attain enough power that the Empire would let her be a benevolent dictator over her home island? and it’s only after a major PERSONAL betrayal that she revises this plan? [END SPOILERS] Baru also assimilates without much pain or sacrifice. she hardly ever thinks about her parents or her childhood home. she willingly strips herself of cultural signifiers and adapts to Empire norms (apart from being a closeted lesbian, which...yeah, i’ll get to that, too). and it’s not that Dickinson doesn’t TRY to make her a nuanced character, but...to me, it feels so painfully obvious that this is not his experience. it feels almost...voyeuristic.
...much like his descriptions of wlw desire!
2) we get it, you read Foucault
the categories of sexual deviance are based entirely on a Western Victorian-era medical discourse around non-heterosexual forms of desire, but Dickinson ignores the network of sociocultural, religious, and historical contexts that contributed to that specific kind of discourse. he uses the terms “tribadism” and “sodomy” but those ideas CANNOT EXIST outside a Euro-American Christian context. yes, a huge part of the 19th century involved the pathologization of sexual and romantic desire (or lack thereof). but that in turn goes back to a history of medicine that relied on the “scientific method” as a means of studying and dissecting the human body--and that method in itself is a product of Enlightenment thinking. Theorist Sylvia Wynter (whomst everyone should read, imho) discusses how the Enlightenment attempted to make the Human (represented by a cisgender, heteronormative, white man) an agent of the State economy. every categorization of so-called deviance goes back to white supremacist attempts to define themselves as ‘human’ against a nonwhite, non-Christian Other. and IN TURN that was ultimately founded on anti-Black, anti-Indigenous racism. at this point it’s a meme in academic circles to mention Foucault, because so many scholars don’t go any further in engaging with his ideas or acknowledge their limits. but SERIOUSLY. Dickinson crafts the Masquerade as this psuedo-scientific empire that’s furthering erasure of native cultures, but...where did these ideas come from? who created them? what was the justification that gave them power? [MINOR SPOILER] blaming the Empire’s ideology on a handful of people behind the Mask who crafted this entire system makes me...uncomfortable, to say the least. part of what gives imperialism its power is that a lot of ordinary people buy in to its ideas, because it aligns with dominant belief systems or gives them some sense of advantage.
also speaking of cultural erasure...
3) culture is more than set dressing
again, to reiterate: Baru does NOT think back to her childhood home for longer than a couple passing sentences at various points in the narrative. but even though the early chapters literally take place on her home island, i don’t get a sense of...lived experience. this is true of ALL of the fantasy analogues Dickinson has created in his Empire. i felt uncomfortably aware of the real world counterparts that Dickinson was drawing inspiration from. at the same time...there are basically no details to really breathe life into these various fantasy cultures. i HATE the trope of “fantasy Asia” or “fantasy Africa” or “fantasy Middle East” that’s rampant among white male sff writers. Dickinson does not get points from me for basically just expanding that to “fantasy South East Asia,” “fantasy Mongolia,” “fantasy South America,” and... “fantasy Africa,” plus some European cultures crammed in there. he’s VERY OBVIOUSLY drawing on those languages for names, but otherwise there’s no real sense of their religious practices, the nuances of their cultures, the differences between those cultures (besides physiological, which...oh god). part of that is probably supposed to be justified by “well, the Empire just erased it!!!” but that’s not an excuse imho.
also...in making the Empire the ultimate signifier of the evils of imperialism...Dickinson kind of leans into the “noble savage” stereotype. Baru’s home island is portrayed as this idyllic environment where no one is shamed for who they love and gender doesn’t determine destiny and there are no major conflicts. (there is a minor nod to some infighting, but this is mostly a “weakness” that the Masquerade uses as an excuse to obliterate a whole tribe.) Dickinson justifies young Baru’s immediate assimilation as her attempt to figure out the Masquerade’s power from within, but given that the Masquerade presumably killed one of her dads and her mom maybe advocates a guerilla resistance...it’s weird that Baru basically abandons her family without a second thought. yeah, i get that she’s a kid when the Masquerade takes over the island, but...that’s still a hugely traumatic experience! the layers of trauma and conditioning and violence that go into this level of colonization are almost entirely externalized.
(later it’s implied that Baru might qualify as a psychopath, and tbh that feels like an excuse for why we haven’t gotten any sense of her inner world, not to mention kind of offensive.)
this isn’t exhaustive but...
it’s not that i don’t think white people shouldn’t ever address POC experiences in their books. just...if your entire trilogy is going to revolve around IMPERIALISM IS BAD, ACTUALLY, maybe you should contribute to the discourse that Black, Brown, and Indigenous authors have already done. reading this book made me so, so angry. i did not feel represented! i felt like i was being talked down to, both on a critical theory level AND on a craft level. there are SO MANY books by actual BIPOC and minority authors that have done this better. N.K. Jemisin’s Broken Earth Trilogy and her current Cities series. Nnedi Okorafor’s Binti trilogy. Leigh Bardugo’s Ninth House remains one of the more powerful novels i’ve read on how The System Is Out To Destroy You, That Is The Point. (Bardugo is non-practicing Spanish and Moroccan Jewish on one side of her family, and her character Alex is mixed and comes from a Jewish background!)
...
there’s not really a point to this. i get a lot of people have raved about this book. good for them. if that’s you, no judgment. i’m not trying to argue IF YOU LIKED THIS YOU ARE PROBLEMATIC. i’m just kind of enraged that a white dude wrote about a Brown lesbian under a colonial empire and that THIS Brown lesbian under a colonial empire couldn’t even get behind the representation. also kind of annoyed that it’s the Empire of Masks and Dickinson either hasn’t read Fanon or didn’t see fit to slip in a Fanon reference, which like. missed opportunity.

ok so funny story !!! i started writing this out , and then i kept writing ... and writing ... and writing ... and then my “ intro ” turned into a whole ass “ biography ” for my boy cooper so !! you can find that Novel right here ( the end is still a work in progress tho ) . below will be my attempt at the spark notes version of it all , although i can almost guarantee it will still get out of hand because i , like our lord and saviour jenna marbles , cannot control my too much gene !!!!
so our boy cooper is the older brother to our fav twins , summer and wynter averna ! together , the three of them are the youngest generation of the averna family . powerful , renowned , and manipulative — the avernas are made up of a long line of successful politicians . currently , daddy johnathan averna is the governor of california , and this heavy legacy has weighed upon cooper’s shoulders for the majority of his life .
in short , cooper is best described as the black sheep of the averna family . while his other family members are power - hungry , manipulative , and thick - skinned , cooper could be described as weak - willed , personable , and charming . this was a major disappointment to his father , john , because he’d been hoping for a son that would follow in his footsteps and grow up to make incredible moves in politics , but cooper couldn’t have been further from what a politician should be , and this caused for a severe lack of affection and validation from his parents on cooper’s part .
at school , however , cooper filled these holes with the popularity he gained within the halls of his private school . everyone wanted to be his friend and the affection and compassion that he lacked at home was made up for by his large circle of friends . but unfortunately , things were not as picture - perfect as they seemed , and in his sophomore year of high school , cooper discovered that his girlfriend had been hooking up with his best friend and in an extreme domino effect , cooper learned that the “ friends ” he’d surrounded himself with were just as power - hungry and manipulative as his own family and were using him for the sole purpose of gaining popularity and getting a taste of the prestige cooper’s surname promised .
but cooper here is far too soft and desperate for affection , and his fear of loneliness far outweighed his desire to have meaningful relationships so he couldn’t bare to actually cut those who’d been using him out of his life . so instead , cooper found himself diving deep into bel air’s party scene , the adrenaline and excitement of it distracting him from the fact that everyone around him didn’t really give two shits about him .
cooper’s partying kind of snowballed from there . long story short , his parents literally never noticed that cooper had even an inkling of a problem , which further distanced him from his family . and as soon as cooper was eighteen , he booked a one - way ticket to europe to do what he does best : run away from his issues and drown them out with alcohol and drugs .
he really just wanted to escape the weight of his surname and putting as much distance between himself and the spotlight that followed him constantly seemed like his best bet . and for about a year , it really worked for him . he bounced around europe , discovered its beauty and culture , and partied day in and day out , all while forgetting the legacy he’d left behind and finding what he wanted to : music — but we’ll get to that later .
but just short of a year , cooper got caught up in a drunken brawl in amsterdam that left him with a concussion and broken hand . luckily , daddy came to the rescue after a phone call from cooper and john paid off everyone involved in order to keep the story under wraps , but under one condition : cooper return home to bel air and attend university to hopefully clean up his act and get a degree .
cooper started at hollingsworth as a business major , but that didn’t work out as easily as he’d been hoping and he was just barely scraping by at the end of his sophomore year . however , when he was home for the summer , cooper rediscovered his love for music upon finding the belongings of his that had been shoved away by his parents two years prior , and he made the switch to majoring in music production when he returned to hollingsworth for his junior year .
his parents still do not know about his change in major , for cooper knows they wouldn’t believe it’s a viable career path for him to take and he also has an innate fear of disappointing them . he’s got some severe daddy issues , having always desperately craved the validation of his father but always lacking it because his dad only believed in only one possible future for his son : carrying on the averna legacy in politics . cooper realizes that it’s ridiculous , and that he is more than free to do what he wants and brush off his parents’ judgements , but that is a lot easier said than done unfortunately .
to briefly touch on his music : cooper’s voiceclaim is sir sly — edgy , emo , electronic alternative music . he’s incredibly passionate about his music , often spending many late nights in hollingsworth’s recording studios . he taught himself to play guitar while in europe , but upon enrolling in hworth’s music program has learned how to play the drums , keyboard , and properly project his vocals . he’s also gained experience in mixing and producing music , of which he mostly does himself with his own music . currently , he has one released album ( you haunt me ) , but is working on his next one ( don’t you worry , honey ) already .
*  /  ———  𝑻𝑯𝑬  𝑪𝑯𝑨𝑹𝑨𝑪𝑻𝑬𝑹  :
label(s)  :  the muso , the maverick , the enigma , the black sheep
muso ( a person who is musically talented )
maverick ( an unorthodox or independent - minded person )
enigma ( a person or thing that is mysterious, puzzling, or difficult to understand )
black sheep ( regarded as a disgrace to a family )
notable traits  :  charming , reckless , dexterous , addictive , reticent , truculent , intelligent , compassionate , adventurous
aesthetics  :  a sharpened pencil scratching against paper , ringed fingers plucking guitar strings , a piercing gaze , pursed lips , cigarette smoke curling in evening air , soft t - shirts and black jeans , shiny silver and gold jewelry , masculine cologne
in  a  nutshell  :  basically , cooper’s an enigma at first glance . he has a mysterious aura to him : his gaze is shielded , his voice quiet , and his posture reclusive . he often prefers to keep to himself in unfamiliar situations at first until he gets a feel for the atmosphere , and the way he’s usually hunkered over a journal definitely screams “ leave me alone . ” the walls he built around himself in high school remain strong , because he knows he’s far too soft - hearted for his own good . overly eager to protect everyone he meets and show others the love and compassion he desperately craves for himself , he’s a walking contradiction in the way that he puts distance between himself and others , fearful of letting them too close , lest it be revealed that they’re only using him for his elite legacy and his heart be broken once again , but his need for attention and companionship has made him incredibly skilled at making you feel like there’s little to no distance separating him from you , distracting you from realizing that you actually know very little about him with his infectious smile and exciting presence . everyone’s a friend of cooper’s , at least on the outside . but if you’re lucky enough to actually wiggle through a crack in his walls , you’ll find a heart far larger than expected , a passion for music that he’s eager to share with others , and a protectiveness for his loved ones that is reminiscent of the brother you always wanted .
*  /  ———  𝑻𝑯𝑬  𝑺𝑬𝑪𝑹𝑬𝑻  :
it’s no secret that cooper loves to party — he’s all over hworth’s party scene , often one of the first to call for a round of shots on a night out — but what is a secret is cooper’s addiction to drugs , specifically but not limited to cocaine .
upon his return to bel air , one of the promises he’d made to his family was that he’d stop using and beat the addiction that had haunted him . the news of cooper’s addiction was the last thing his father wanted to get leaked to the public , fearful for his own reputation as a clean , respected public figure if his own son had fallen prey to drugs . and for a while , cooper was able to bury his addiction and avoid his kryptonite while at parties — but as school became more stressful he found it increasingly difficult to continue to do so , and one night someone offered a line to cooper after a particularly stressful exam and he gave in , and the flood gates opened .
when he was younger and first entering the party scene , cooper had almost openly flaunted his drug use , probably as a cry for help to his seemingly clueless parents , but since relapsing he’s learned how to keep it behind closed doors . only a fair few know of his drug use and cooper will go to any length to keep it that way .
*  /  ———  𝑻𝑯𝑬  𝑴𝑰𝑺𝑪𝑬𝑳𝑳𝑨𝑵𝑬𝑶𝑼𝑺  :
wanted plots .
pinterest .
spotify .
also !!! i feel like i need to address the topic of cooper’s hair , because many of the resources that i will be using of austin have him with blond with long and shaggy hair , but cooper’s hair is actually what austin’s is right now : dark and cut short . but to kinda explain the photos of blond!austin , cooper actually bleached his hair and grew it out whilst travelling in europe as another act of defiance towards his family and to distance himself from his past self . over the past summer , though , he cut it short and dyed it back to his natural brunet , purely an impulse decision TBH , but also probably a weird metaphor for how he initially went blond to distance himself from his legacy , but now that he’s pursuing a career that really distances him from it , he went back to brunet as his own fucked up way of still trying to appease his parents’ fucked up expectations .

Iris Grey soft quotes part 2
“I found that I was smiling too. I couldn’t help it; it had felt wonderful.
“You look as though you enjoyed yourself,”
“I did,”
“Nicholas cut me off with a wave of his hand. Ooooh, I wanted to stomp on his shiny black boots.”
“Don’t forget insufferable, I believe you said I was insufferable the first time we met.”
“You are insufferable, And … and … that green does absolutely nothing for your complexion!”
“I’m not trembling, I’m shivering because the floor is cold and so are my feet. Besides which, there are no ghosts in this library, only sulky young men.”
“Would you call Lord Wynter a wastrel?” I asked. “It’s not the first word that springs to mind.” Arrogant, overbearing, stubborn, perhaps.”
“You have the kindest heart.”
“I—” He raked a hand through his hair. “That is… It’s not—” Finally, he let out a sound that was suspiciously like a growl.
“Well put,” I murmured.”
“I was only joking when I asked if you prepared all your compliments in advance, but now I’m not so sure.”
“I channelled my anger into smiling brighter, dazzling harder, as hard as any diamond.”
“I felt the smile, spreading across my face unchecked, wide and unstoppable.Oh, this was going to be fun.”
“I’ll remind you once again that you challenged me,” I put in here, biting back a smile.
“Now, that doesn’t sound terribly gentlemanly.”
“It certainly doesn’t.”
“How fortunate, then, that I am – how did you put it so charmingly? – an ungentlemanly oaf?”
“And you see how right I was?”
“Cinderella doesn’t turn into a pumpkin,” I replied, smiling at him. “Her carriage does.”
“Ah, yes,” Stefan twinkled. “You are quite right, and I am glad to hear it. Turning into a pumpkin would be most inconvenient.”
“Pumpkins don’t get to eat potted ham,” I agreed, spearing some with my fork.”
“I tripped over my own skirts and went sailing over backwards, landing on the ground with an audible thump, the air knocked clean out of me.I closed my eyes for a moment, and when I opened them, Nick’s face hovered in the blue sky above me. He raised his eyebrows.
“Do you think anyone noticed?” I whispered.”
“I think it’s best we concede,” I said. “For the sake of my dignity – or what remains of it.”
“Between the idea of you walking through walls and the really quite excellent ending to the encounter, I woke up this morning concerned it had all been a dream.”
“Walking through walls?” I tilted my head to the side. “Lord Wynter, I’ve asked before and I’ll ask again, were you ever dropped on the head as a child? You do have some peculiar ideas.”
“I was simply thinking that life with you will never be dull.”
“I actually plan to be extremely dull when all this is over,” I said primly.
“I’m looking forward to seeing Stefan squirm.”
“Ghoul,” Nick laughed.
“If I’m a ghoul, then you’re a ghoul.”
“Oooh.” I winced. “That is going to leave a mark.”
“I’m in love with you too, by the way,” I said. “In case you didn’t already know it.”
“Hopelessly?” Nick smiled.
“Actually, I’m feeling quite hopeful.”

g’day, folks! its me, vina, and this time i’ve actually got some neat-o things to say about my character !! so, click beneath the cut for bullet points & fun facts about roseline wynters. i’ll hopefully have a plot page up soon bc im working on it right now, but if u like what u read and would like to rp / plot, pls hit me up !!
a lil bit of history;
so. let me begin w the easiest of things- meet roseline “rose” wynters, the twenty one year old daughter of elsa i’ve played sporadically since,, the end of march, 2014. so. she’s definitely not new !!
but she has been given a new lease of life & as such, i’m erasing.. a lot of what i did prev. with her. she’s still been in and out of wda and some things are staying the same, but pivotal parts of old!rose like.. everything w calla fiore and carter forrester, some plots i did, etc, they’re all erased completely.
rose is,, difficult
that’s the only way i can think to describe her
she’s very loud and outspoken and she has always sorta been the thorn in her mama’s side
and here’s a huge change- she wasn’t the only one, anymore !! rose used to be an only child, but now she has a (much) older brother named christian- he’s mayhaps going to make an appearance eventually, and as such i dont’t wanna go into too much detail about him. but.. rose is still crown princess of arendelle, when.. having an older brother should mean he’s crown prince. there is a story there. he, too, has been a problem child. someday u will all understand
anywaY
back to rose
she’s got ice powers like her mama but.. she’s vastly more in control of them. she just doesn’t rly.. use them. ever. well. she does, but in public, it’s rare- they mightn’t scare her, but she’s met other ppl who are scared, so she keeps herself chill.
in spite of this. she has a rly quick temper.. like.. she goes from 0 to 100 in an instant and it’s not good, bc the one time she does begin to lose control is when she’s angry
many a snowstorm has been created by rose wynters losing her goddamn chill
she has a tiger, which is like. one of the most important things u need to know about her. his name is kumal & he’s actually just remaining canon from past rose (bc she adopted him yrs ago when we had a wda petshop thing up and running but the story now is a little different). he’s enchanted- for now- to stay roughly abt.. six, maybe seven months old, appearance wise. so he’s p big but not massive, but still.. he’s a tiger. she walks around w a tiger at her heels. that’s rose.
back to her actual history
she acted out first and then she decided the only way she could get attention was by running away and she’s been doing that ever since
at this point, elsa’s like.. all ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ about it on the outside, but internally screaming always bc her daughter is the absolute worst
she shirks all her responsibilities- like. she literally does not care abt this princess gig- and instead she goes all around the world, meeting new ppl, seeing new places, and she comes back eventually but she always goes again
and its not even abt attention anymore- rose is sort of. missing something, i guess. and she’s sort of searching for that missing something in her own way, but im not quite sure if she’ll ever find it. in fact. im positive she won’t
fun facts;
she’s very smart but.. not in a way which has kept her grades up. she knows the world, she knows different cultures and whatnot, she has all this knowledge she’s picked up on adventures across the lands- but then she comes back here and its all very ordinary to her
she’s an artist, of sorts, who likes to take pictures and sketch different people and places and things she sees, but she’s nothing special- very amateur
but she IS a collector, of everything and anything. knowledge, material items, etc etc. its all the same to rose.
her room is a mess of clutter, all different things she’s brought back from around the world, rugs piled upon other rugs, scarves and fabrics hanging around the ceiling, books and ornaments piled messily. her pockets are filled with oddities and her arms are covered in fading bracelets and bands and she always without fail has a different patterned headscarf to tie around her hair, and its all because she collects these things and they surround her in every day life.
she’s as much an oddity in buena vista as the different knick knacks that fill her pockets are- she’s always one step out of sync, never quite fitting in, never quite knowing enough to. she has so much knowledge, but it’s never enough.
her attention is easily taken, so.. thatll be fun to play w. rose picks up a hobby and within a week she’s dropped it for a new one. she’s decided to do something, and as soon as something else comes along, she’s changed her mind and gone off to do that. she’s always restless and ready and willing to do something new, even at the expense of something old.
she always smells like lavender and she has a rly wholesome sorta style like. u will see thru fashion posts i reblog but.. she’s very vintage i love her
a cool new style phone ?? no thank u rose wynters has an old nokia brick phone that is indestructible and will get her thru life. no facebook messenger for her !!
books are her thing. she loves to read- she loves to learn things, as evidenced by how she rly immerses herself in all the new places she visits, and before she used to travel books were her only escape. she’s an avid reader to this day
but she’s also into spooky stuff !! she watches buzzfeed unsolved and all those sorta things, she loves the ~*~supernatural~*~ and ghosts and ghoulies but tbh i think she mostly wants to debunk it all
she takes great pleasure but she’s also like ‘i want to prove this wrong’
anyway i cant think of anything else and ik i once again got long winded but.. rose is an important af character to me Okay she’s been rocking around forever
