Wait with the cold open and now is the implication that the fire department has been secretly and quietly dispatching with demons this whole time. 

PLEASE let that be it. 

That’d be AMAZING. And make so much sense??? Like “this town is constantly overrun by demons and no one talks about it but we’re still people, we’re not going to Do Nothing, so we’ll take this existing service and just quietly expand their duties without, you know, mentioning it” like WHAT A GOOD SMALL TOWN PREMISE.
