September 1st Progress Update
Hello everyone!
First, I apologize that there was no progress update for August. I took a break after the last update, and then personal matters came up, which extended it.
I'm starting to find my rhythm again, life loves to toss us into loops. I have the codes implemented and working, a few scenes done, and more revisions underway — particularly focusing on the poly routes. I wanted to share some samples today, but I want to polish things a bit more first. I'll make a random post with those soon.
Patreon: It's still in the works, I promise, but I'll be honest: I got a bit of cold feet. I had things planned out and ready to go, but self-doubt crept in. I'm working through it, and I'll probably launch it once the first chapter's new systems are fully implemented so that Patrons can check it out.
Asks: There's a lot I'm trying to consider. I'm not quite sure how I want to proceed just yet, and I'm sorry for any uncertainty. Right now, I'm trying find a balance for everything again.
Save Issues: I've received reports of save issues on mobile. This seems browser-related and not something I can fix myself. I've tested Firefox and found no issues personally. Someone on itch.io shared that Kiwi Browser and Brave work as well. Opera GX doesn't work at all, and Google Chrome seems to be random.
Anyways, it's a bore of an update and I'm sorry for that. I look forward to sharing some samples for these new systems and seeing what you think! Thank you all for your patience and support. Have a lovely month!

12-18 October 2020
This week we focused on winter protection; however, the incessant drizzle over three days hampered any attempt to gaffer tape the horticultural fleece or bubble wrap to the structures. I ended up building several structures and finally on Friday returned to them and put the finishing wrap on them. We are making great progress and Olivia and Al are doing a spectacular job making this year’s structures the best ever.
I’m very happy that Nell has given the go ahead to doing a full audit of the seed bank. Friday, I trained Mari on IrisBG so she can assist when there aren’t labels to print; Jess is going full steam ahead too.
Pictures this week are two of the best performers in the tropical corridor:

Christopher and Nicholas hosted a nice lunch Saturday in their garden for six. They made chilli with sides of cornbread and potato wedges. The food was delicious and the company was excellent. We finished off several bottles of wine too.
Sunday I mowed the lawn in Richmond, did some reading and of course my daily dose of French. I made a mushroom, onion, thyme quiche for lunch next week, my first quiche in ages!

09/02/17
The morning started out like any other; considering I woke up early and was visiting the Forest for the first time, I was pretty excited and certain it was going to be a good day (oh how wrong I was). Before I had even stepped foot on set of production I had already cleaned up dog sick, left my phone at home, missed my bus, chipped a tooth, got off at the wrong stop and had been shouted at by an older women in Ross-on-Wye for feeding bread to birds. The start of the day was not great as I had a lot of unpredictable issues between waking up and getting to the set, luckily I had my kindle with me on the journey and was able to update the other crew members during the morning to let them know what had happened. When I finally arrived to the set (over an hour late), the day started getting progressively better; the first half of the day was spent capturing behind the scenes footages (with the 2nd camera; Canon 60D) of the filmmaking process whilst the director used the main camera (Sony A7) to focus on the game-play shots. Using two different camera was beneficial as we were able to use the Canon cam for tripod shots of the background and set whilst using the Sony A7 to film action footage using the spider rig and handheld. By lunch time we had gotten enough footage to determine that we would only need another half an hour of shooting time for after lunch which was good as it meant we were running ahead of schedule. I had prepared lunch for the cast and crew for the day as we were unsure on the availability of food to purchase and the base and didn’t want to carry too much with us on the day.
After a quick lunch break we were able to continue with filming the last establishing shots we needed for the advert; the wide shot ending scene of the cast walking away from the camera and the pan shot of a game-play sequence being played. We used the first half of the day to collect moving shots and the close-ups from the shoulder rig as they were the shots which were more complex and needed to be re-shot a couple of times before we felt that we had gotten a good number of takes for it. Getting the footage for the last two scenes wasn’t difficult as the camera operator was pretty confident with how the camera positioning looked, after filming the final scenes I collected and recorded some non-diegetic sound to use for the action effect in the advert; this included the sound of an arrow being pulled back, the sound of an arrow being hit at a target and footsteps/walking for the final shot. This took a little longer than expected as we didn’t quite interrupt how well the recorder picked up sound and it kept picking up noises and winds coming from the other half of the crew on the other side on the field (it didn’t help that we chose the coldest day of the year to film on a hilltop either). Although the day started out horrendous I would say that overall the production was a success as we managed to get a lot done in less time than we thought and we also managed to capture more than enough solid, clear footage to use to include in our avert.
XOXO

June 22 - Vice Update Release
Hello everyone!
The long awaited vice update is now released. Thank you to all of my testers for their dedication and assistance!
The list of changes can be found in the latest devlog: here.
I'd like to just repeat the last bit though:
I changed the style of the choices for the next update. However, I did not intend to do this yet, so it was not included in the beta test. Long story short, I wasn’t paying attention to what I was editing but decided to just get it over with since I'll be doing it anyway. There should not be any broken links, but if you come across any weird styling, please submit a bug report.
Finally, the moods and thoughts feature is not fully implemented in Chapter 3. This is because I'll be reworking parts of it, especially the poly routes. I apologize for the incompleteness on this aspect, but since things are going to change, I don’t see the point in adding elements that will be erased or redone anyway.
Regardless, thank you all for your patience, and I hope you enjoy the update!

April 1st Progress Update
Hello everyone!
First, this update isn't an April's Fools joke, as much as I wish it were. Secondly, maintaining a level of transparency is important to me. It lets you all understand where I'm at and what to expect. With that, I apologize there was no March update.
In my last update, I hinted at some hardships in my life, and things were looking better. Unfortunately, sometimes life tends to kick you down when you're trying to get back up, and that's what happened not long after that update. This time, however, it took a heavy toll. I really tried, but I could not get back up on my own this time.
I had to step away for the most part and work on healing. I'm genuinely starting to feel better now, with each day being a little clearer and brighter than the last. Writing is slowly becoming easier again, which is a huge relief. It's strange how little time has passed, yet it feels years away.
As I believe I've stated before, I have no intentions of abandoning my story; this still rings true. There's just a regret I lost the momentum I gained.
Progress hasn't been at a complete standstill, and I'm still slowly working on drafts. It's hard to explain without delving into personal details — know I'm trying my hardest. I'm unsure what the word count is at the time of writing this, as I'm still going over and refining it. However, I have finished a few more scenes and I'm nearing the finish line.
Lastly, I'm sorry I disabled the asks. There are quite a few I need to catch up on, but answering was, and has always been, hard for me. I'll probably put together a FAQ post in the next few days (as well as finish a certain post I've been neglecting). Anyway, I hope to enable asks again in the near future.
Thank you all once again for your incredible patience. I'm sorry if this update isn't what you hoped for. Regardless, I hope Part Two is well worth the wait!

June 1 Update & Testing Begins!
Hello all!
I am sending out links after posting — please check your emails/Discord when you get a chance!
Aside from that, I'm feeling a little nervous but pretty good overall. I'll go over everything once the update is ready to be published.
How long do I plan on testing?: At least a week. I want to give everyone time, but this isn't a new chapter. It may be extended depending on feedback, but I think a week or two is sufficient.
Once testing ends, I'll put on the final touches (if needed) before releasing publicly.
What comes next?: I'm redoing my To-Do list today, but I will share what I have on my test page:
Arcane Sense System with Basic Inventory:
The code is ready and working in a test environment — implementation is planned for Chapter 1 rewrite.
This system will make it so this ability can be tracked and used 'at will' in certain cases — it will be mostly utilized in Ch3 Part Two and going forward.
Armor and Stance System:
The code is ready and working in a test environment — implementation is planned for Chapter 1 rewrite.
This will have greater impact on the fight scenes — it will be a little more "game-like" but not overwhelming or super-complex.
Rewrite Chapter 1:
I want to introduce the MC's abilities better and with more sense. This rewrite would aim to redo the combat areas (again ;-;) but for these new systems. I don't think it will be too bad since the systems are working.
Redoing the Guilt Mechanics:
Since announcing this previously, I've see a few of people mention they enjoy it as it is or find it might not make sense regardless. I'll be contemplating this more along with a 'trust system' that a reader suggested for the time being.
Reworking the Poly Routes:
Changes in tracking have been made. I plan to add new scenes and revise existing ones to improve these relationships. I was hoping to have it in this update, but turned out to be a rather large undertaking so will likely be included in next big update or an update following that.
I’m also working on a few other systems, which I will detail in later updates as they become more fleshed out.
What About Chapter 3 Part Two?
It's still in progress. I'm currently at a part where the MC meets various characters, leading to the dinner with Admos. This may seem straightforward, but with five potential encounters and branching paths, it's quite intricate.
My plan is work on the arcane sense system that will be utilized in this chapter quite a bit so I can get it out sooner than later — I am aiming for this to be the next big update.
Goodness, it feels like a lot — and it probably is. But, we can only move forward! Thank you all for your loving support and incredible patience!

May 1st Progress Update
Hello all!
Very long update, so I apologize ahead of time.
April has been an incredibly productive month for me. I've made substantial revisions and have taken some time to reflect on possible changes for the future.
There are decisions I made earlier in the development of this story that, in hindsight, could have been handled better. While I will continue with the upcoming update as planned, I intend to take additional time afterward to revisit and refine various aspects of the game.
I truly love this story and want it to be the best it can be. I aim to look back on it with pride and minimal regrets. These changes will be comprehensive, affecting everything from narrative elements and gameplay mechanics to the presentation on itch.io.
I hope this update doesn't cause any concern; rather, I want to share this as part of my journey in developing this game, a process that occasionally requires stepping back and reassessing to move forward effectively.
With that said, here are some developments I've been working on that I haven't yet discussed. If you have any thoughts on some of these, I'd welcome the insight:
Guilt System Overhaul: I'm currently refining the code for the guilt system. The upcoming changes will significantly alter how guilt is calculated and displayed, emphasizing the impact of your relationships. For instance, lying to a character you're romancing will carry more weight. However, I'm carefully considering how to balance this to respect player agency, recognizing that not everyone may want their character to feel guilty in such situations. Your feedback on this would be appreciated before I start making final decisions — edit: you are welcome to comment on this post! (Sorry ;-;)
Skill System Overhaul: The foundation for the new skill system is done and functional in a test environment. However, I'm still evaluating whether its inclusion genuinely enhances gameplay or if it complicates things unnecessarily.
Extensive Coding Overhauls: Overall, I've done so much coding that I couldn't begin to tell you what all I've done. I combined things to both organize and streamline (though this might just effect me overall).
There is more to share, but I want to keep some surprises under wraps for now.
Future Support Update: I am in the process of setting up a Patreon, which I aim to launch next month. Initially, I considered using Ko-Fi for all supporter interactions, but the exclusive access features offered by itch.io make Patreon a better fit for what I want to achieve.
On Patreon, I will be providing a couple tiers. While one offers more than the other, here's a general overview of what I'll be offering: detailed progress updates, sneak peeks, alpha builds, special acknowledgments, early access, among others.
Ko-Fi will remain available for those who prefer to offer one-time support. Your support, whether recurring or one-time, is immensely appreciated and makes a significant difference in the continued development of my projects.
Beta Testing: Given the aspects of Patreon, how I approach beta testing in the future will be different. However, I will continue as I did last time with this one.
This month, I am aiming to begin the beta testing phase for the new Vice System. In light of changes to the test's parameters, previous applications have been cleared. If you're interested in participating, please reapply.
Please note, this test covers a lot of adult content — you must be 18 or older to participate (though really, you should be 18+ if you're even reading my story *finger wagging*). Ensure you are comfortable with explicit content before applying.
Application is found here.
Tumblr Asks: I will be making a separate post soon to address the reopening of Asks. Please be patient with me as I work through a couple of reasons why it was temporarily disabled. I appreciate your understanding and look forward to hearing more from all of you soon!
Closing Thoughts: Sorry again for the lengthy update, but thank you all for your patience as I continue refining and revising. Work on Chapter 3: Part Two is progressing, though there's still more to be done.
Wishing you all a wonderful month ahead!

About Friendship Bars...
Hello again!
I previously mentioned that my next update would likely be a call for testers, but I have something else I want to share first.
I've decided to remove the friendship bars from the game. This decision comes after reflecting on feedback that choice outcomes didn't feel impactful in their current form. To address this, I've introduced a new system that offers a more dynamic and, hopefully, realistic depiction of character relationships.
Instead of static bars, this new approach will display the current mood and thoughts of characters based on your interactions. This change aims to add depth and realism to how relationships evolve throughout the story.
I believe this system will provide a more nuanced and engaging way to see the consequences of your choices, potentially deepening your connection with the characters.
Here's an example of what it will look like, along with another upcoming change in the relationships menu:
Tumblr media
I personally feel a lot better with this system, and although I may make some adjustments before the update, this is roughly what it will look like. Regardless, I’m eager to hear your thoughts. What do you think? Let me know!

I’ve been hard at work revisiting and polishing the NSFW scenes before diving into new ones coming in the vice rework... And let me tell you, it’s been quite the experience. 😅 Sometimes I can't help but slap my forehead at some of the awkwardness you might have noticed — I'm so sorry if you rolled your eyes too! LOL
Expect some refined scenes in the next update, which I hope you'll all enjoy!
I'm also introducing some more vices, and I hope these new additions resonate with some of you.
Anyways, just had to share this little confession — ta-ta for now!

Phew
Hi everyone!
I'm excited to share that Chapter One's NSFW revisions and additions are officially complete. The core of the vice system is now implemented, and I’m meticulously combing through to polish any areas I might have missed. I've also cleaned up some coding, implemented object arrays to better track your piercings and/or accessories, addressed a few reported errors, and made several other improvements (go me!).
Progress on Chapter 2 continues; the NSFW scenes are still being refined and drafted. These revisions have given me a permanent: ಠ_ಠ (though I'm glad some of you still love the old stuff ♥) — but I'm steadily moving forward. After that, Chapter 3 awaits the same level of treatment.
Looking ahead, my next update might just be a call for beta testers — so stay tuned if you're interested in being part of the fine-tuning process!
Anyway, I thought you'd all like to know how it's coming along. I'm proud of the progress I've been able to make over the last few days. I promise I'm not rushing and am taking care of myself during all this! Thank you for your support and kindness!

Testing Setback
Hey everyone!
I wanted to let you know that I'll be starting testing a little later than planned. I've been busier than usual and also fell a bit ill, which has set me back.
Just to give a little progress update, Chapter 2's revisions are done, and I'm currently going over the new scenes before implementing them. Depending on how I feel about it, I may start testing before continuing with Chapter 3's explicit scenes to get an idea if everything thus far is okay.
My focus since recovering has been entirely on the revisions right now, so I decided it’d be best to wait on addressing the Asks until after I get testing going. I apologize for the delay on that.
Regardless, I'll make a post when I start sending out the links. I appreciate your patience!

February 1st Progress Update
Hi everyone!
I'm happy to share that progress continues steadily, with over 20k words in final drafts for Part Two. While it feels modest since it was last stated, I've been mostly working on the vice system right now — the sooner I get it done, the less I'll have to go back and change in the future.
This month has had its challenges, but it's also been a time of unexpected inspiration. Delving into the classic novel "The Phantom of the Opera" has sparked a surge of new ideas and thematic explorations. I'm looking forward to the possibility of sharing these new developments with you in the future.
For those also following "From Here to Again," I'm delighted to report that Chapter 2 is nearing the drafting stage, with its in-depth timeline near completion. Thank you for your enthusiasm for this tale, I can't wait to continue this one as well. It's going to be awhile before I do anything social media related for it, so I hope you don't mind me giving some updates in these posts on occasion.
While most major aspects were covered in the last update, please know that your support and patience continues to spurn me on. Each message, comment, and word of encouragement fuels my passion and commitment to these stories.
Thank you all!

January 9 Progress Update
Hello everyone!
A few personal matters came up after my last post and I was dealing with that for a bit — it made it hard to focus on writing. For the most part, things are better.
Part Two is well into development, I've implemented over 10k words in final drafts, which feels modest in comparison but progress is picking up again. There are some other developments brewing for WYE, but I don't want to make any official announcements yet. Please understand I'm holding on to the Codex update a little longer.
I'm always working in the background despite my silence. During the time I was dealing with those personal matters, I decided to step back on focus on my mental health. I'm ready to start answering questions once again. Unfortunately, life is unpredictable, so I'm sorry if I seem to come and go.
As always, thank you all for your patience, love, and support. I hope 2024 is a wonderful year for us all!

Codex Update & Some Rewrites
Hello everyone!
I decided to do this now because reworking the vices may take me a little bit.
Many fixes have been added as well, thank you once again for the reports!
Codex Update: This update didn't add a ton of Codex entries, but I did add a few and reworked many... I think almost all previously available entries received revisions in some shape or form. I held onto this because I was having some trouble grappling with some feelings.
For context, I've been working on this world for last 10 years (yes, I'm old). It has shaped and formed and reformed in various ways, and saw more reformation when I decided to make this a Twine story. Sometimes I question myself on certain things, and stepping back and giving it time helps me see things with a fresh perspective — I've made some changes that I feel work best with what the story has become, but nothing too audacious. I'm sorry for the delay and I greatly appreciate your patience.
Chapter One Rewrites (again): More portions of Chapter One also got some heavy rewrites. It's sort of silly, but the more I grow as a writer the more I physically couldn't read what I wrote — it made me uncomfortable (I was seriously adverting my eyes T.T). So I finally just 'erased' the parts that I was dissatisfied most with and rewrote them. They are not so different in regards to the narrative, but now have better flow and clarity.
However, the first POV for Gabriel does have more information on Auris's past and choosing the initial combat skill now gives a tactical overview so you're not missing out on information (if you liked the old version more, I could add a 5th choice for this but I'd like to see how receptive this is first).
I hope these revisions only enhance the story in a way that's still easy to digest while giving better information.
Progress for Part Two: I have finished the trial scenes and the scenes leading to it. Going by my detailed timeline, I'd say in terms of events, it's almost halfway there — but in terms progression, I'd say I'm about 25% there. I'm excited though, and I can't wait to share!
I was going to do this on the 1st of February, but I feel it's ready. More areas will receive some rewrites, but I'm trying to balance my time and creative flow accordingly.
Thank you everyone for your love and support!

Coming Beta Test
Hello everyone!
I'm pretty confident testing will begin sometime this weekend. I'm making the finishing touches, but I wanted to mention a few things.
First, if you're chosen for testing, I ask that you read the test page thoroughly, as there's important information you should be aware of before diving in.
Secondly, I decided to begin testing before finishing Chapter 3's explicit scenes. I think it'll help me ensure I'm on the right track with these sorts of events.
Thirdly, I've mentioned in different places the various things I want to work on/include. I've decided to break these up into other updates—some minor, some large. So if this update doesn't contain something you were expecting, I'm very sorry. It's coming and either needs more work or is awaiting implementation (these new systems require some rewriting, so I've divided things up to be more focused).
I'm sorry about all of this; the more I learn, the more I see what I can do differently. I also sincerely apologize that these updates mean starting over a bit, which I understand may be annoying.
Once I get past this stuff, I believe I'll be back on track, more confident, and less of a scatterbrain.
I appreciate all of your love and support, as always! I hope you all have a great week ♥

A Few Updates
Hello everyone!
I have some exciting news and a few thoughts I want to share. Another long update, I'm sorry!
Codex Update: As you know, I've been working on updating the Codex. I've put a lot of thought into each entry, balancing new ideas with existing lore. While a lot of elements were already established, delving deeper into some topics has inspired some new ideas, and I want to ensure everything fits seamlessly. With this in mind, I'm considering releasing what I have so far while I continue to ponder over some of these newer concepts and refine older ones. In the next few days, I'll be going through more feedback to address some issues found before I plan to release the update.
New Story: I'm excited to share I've released a prologue and first chapter forFrom Here to Again! Writing something different is meant to help me grow as a writer and expand upon things I might not have considered before, especially when writing Twine.
I will not be making a Tumblr for this story right now, sorry!
I know I've shared other stories that I planned, and here are some updates on those:
Nautical Lost would definitely benefit from a later release as Within Your Eyes grows, as this story will expand upon the world lore and some events that will happen.
The Innkeeper (a working title), I decided to hold off on because I'm terrible at management games, it seems. It was meant to be a fun little story with shenanigans. However, I do want to revisit the idea later.
Short Stories: I've expressed I want to make some short stories, but I feel like there's a point in WYE I want to pass first before getting into them. But I do have one I'm working on that I want to release alongside Part Two that delves into the past.
Worries About Burnout: I know some of you are/might be worried about burnout, but I feel like I have a good system for myself. Writing is a journey I haven't explored much before. I did write, but it's something I didn't think I was good at because, honestly, I was told I wasn't. I know I'm not the greatest, but I want to grow and learn as a writer. I've been taking breaks to focus on other things I enjoy, even if it's still writing out ideas for other stories.
I appreciate all of the concern in this regard, not just for my well-being, but also for the love of my story. To see it abandoned would be heartbreaking not just for my readers, but for me as well. 'Within Your Eyes' has been an idea long in the making, shifting and growing. It's something I've always wanted to share, and I'm so happy I have!
Time for Questions: I'm ready to start answering some of your questions regarding Part One. Enough time has passed, I believe, to start delving into these. To respect those who haven't caught up yet, I'll include any spoilers under a 'Read More' tag. However, be mindful that some questions themselves might contain spoilers.
Regarding certain asks/scenarios, I think that discovering the answers through the story rather than in a post might be more rewarding. While I may still respond to these, I'll be thoughtful about placing them under a 'Read More' tag as well.
Regardless, I've been thinking more about how I should approach questions, not only in a way that's satisfying to you, but also benefits the story.
Closing Thoughts: Sorry again for the long update. I've been very reflective after releasing a second story, and I hope no one sees this as me diverting from WYE. I'm grateful for every one of you and for all of your words of encouragement and love. I hope you enjoy From Here to Again (if you decide to check it out) and continue to look forward to our Warden's journey.
Thank you!
