Double J In Music City USA!

[Double J Jeff Jarrett believes the country music industry of his hometown of Nashville, Tennessee, has an ax to grind with him. He says major booking agencies have conspired against him, and he’s viewed to turn the tables here in the Federation.]

Since Double J Jeff Jarrett–that’s J E double-F J A double -R E double-T–made his World Wrestling Federation ring debut this past December, he has created a great deal of commotion. Fans knew this would happen.

Double J allowed this magazine to follow him around his hometown of Nashville, Tennessee–a metropolitan area that pays homage to country music and is known around the world as Music City USA.

Jarrett, who believes that he is the greatest country singer and entertainer of all time, told us that the country music industry is rife with underhanded politics. He added that a “local boy” such as he is never seems to get a break in the country music capital.

“Yes, sir,” he said. “Let me tell you, the country music business is full of corruption. The powers that be, like Buddy Lee Attractions (a leading talent agency in Nashville), always open their doors to people who weren’t even born in Tennessee, let alone here in Music City.

“Here’s what ol’ Double J has to do,” he said. “I’m gonna have to come to the Federation and use it to catapult myself to the top of the country music business. And I’m gonna use all the superstars along the way. I’m talking about morons like the Undertaker and the 1-2-3 Kid.”

Double J, if everything goes his way, could be a two-time winner in the World Wrestling Federation and in the country music field. If his plans go awry, however, Double J just might be a bit appalled–that’s A double-P A double-L E D.
