some of the what we do in the shadows fans on here are pretty funny bc they forget theyre not watching a romantic vampire drama, they are watching a Silly Vampire Mockumentary. nandor and guillermo are the main emotional heart of the plotline right now in many ways so that isn't a judgement. it's just some people's fan theories (as fun as they are) seem to forget this is a show that actually doesn't take itself 100% seriously. all this to say that nandor is my biggest "he would not fucking say that" character of all time
#nandor is extremely self-centered ancient and out-of-touch#people don't like to acknowledge his extreme selfishness in their fan theories because it doesn't compute well with a ship#but it is a huge part of his character and it is not changing any time soon#case in point: nandor is so selfish that he hasnt noticed guillermo has already been turned#when laszlo is very obviously doing experiments on him every night#(?)#literally everyone else knows already!!!!#wwdits

theory #2
Nandor was on the balcony the whole time.
So I'm not going to waste time trying to convince anyone that Nandor Knows. Basically you do or you don't. For me it could go either way. I don't think there's necessarily enough proof in the text that he knows, just that 1. The show writers are clever enough to not actively disprove it (they do this all the time with things, it's something I admire. wwdits loves nothing more than its red herrings) 2. Im 97.3% sure Kayvan Novak was playing Nandor, post The Baron being fried part 2 electric boogaloo, as knowing Guillermo is a vampire - and that he was never coming back after fleeing. Not to get into actor objectives, etc. here, but that doesn't have to be supported by the text or something he's been told to do. As an actor you basically come up with these choices on your own by your own interpretations and what you feel would be the most interesting choice. I know a lot of people who have theories and will point to an actor's choices as proof of something that probably isn't in the text of the scripts themselves and those choices don't really have as much connection to the intent of the author as you might think. Although, I personally find an actor's choices more compelling than what’s in the text, especially if it’s an interesting one that makes for a compelling emotional arc for the character.
tldr; my gut says that Kayvan is playing Nandor like he knows; at least in the last half of this episode. But even if he is, that doesn't necessarily make it canon.
So, moving to the meat of the theory, a small thing that got me thinking is - we don't see (or hear) Nandor for a very long time during Guillermo’s confession. We don't hear him crashing around in the background, comically trying to set up a platter of blood, no insert shots of a camera spying on him while Guillermo’s voice carries over in order to give an extra weight of guilt to the words confessing his betrayal…there’s nothing. Now, again, this isn't proof. I just find it unsettling whenever characters talk about someone and you can't see where the subject of their conversation is, and yet you know that they're close by. It’s such a classic set up for the ‘oh no they were right behind you all along’. (ngl I was certain that Nandor was going to be right behind The Guide the whole time because her blocking put her hiding most of the hall from view and that had my palms itchy with suspicion). Of course tho all these things could have perfectly innocent explanations for them. That's again a big strength of wwdits that gets often overlooked: They know the tropes and either lean so heavily on them to the point of absurdity or more commonly subvert them in some way. Wwdits isn’t a sitcom, it's a satire of a sitcom. They want you to be thinking “where is Nandor?” during this scene, subconsciously, in the back of your mind. Even if it does nothing more than just to fuck with us.
A final third thing that tickled my spidey-sense is that we never see the full balcony after Nandor goes to fetch the drinks. Here is the shot set up right before, during (Nandor’s absence), and after:
Most of the set up here before Nandor leaves is in a wide shot that shows majority of the stairs and balcony. Which makes sense, it’s the best way to fit everyone, including Colin on the left of the stairs and Nadja on the right, into the same shot. But once Nandor walks down the hall that shot is replaced with mid shots and shot-reverse-shots between Guillermo and The Baron. Even at the ‘During’ point, where The Guide is speaking and we get the widest shot of the foyer - we only just barely reach over the middle of the balcony, and by then Guillermo had already confessed.
Right when Nandor comes back tho? We’re back to the wide shots that include the balcony.
Now, the hardest part of such a simple theory was understanding the house layout better in order to know how/if Nandor could get to the balcony from the back of the hallway (and not the front staircase) without being seen, since all we know is that he heads down the hall when he announces he will go get a “carafe of blood”. Logically I thought that he would head to the kitchen.
Which then got me thinking…where the fuck is the kitchen??
Sadly the floor plans released by the set designer aren't actually that helpful in answering this because it shows that kitchen on the first floor, the first door on the right. But we know that the first door on the right isn’t the kitchen due to the pilot and Go Flip Yourself episodes. The pilot shows a smaller, dimly lit area with different fixtures that is probably either a storage area or a restroom. In Go Flip Yourself, we know that the wall would have been taken out in order to extend Guillermo’s alcove into a proper room, which they wouldn’t have done if it was adjacent to the kitchen since they were ment to renovate that area too. Plus there was septic sewage seeping in under his floor which lends more to it being a first story bathroom (also because I don’t think that there is anywhere else to put a bathroom on the fist floor according the floor plans). The other doors on the left are Nandors room and the other room on that side probably leads to the basement since Guillermo exits that way from the cage he was held in season 3. On the other side we have one more door that I have no idea where it goes to but if I had to guess I would think it’s maybe Nadja’s and Laszlo’s room. Then there’s a little adjacent alcove/hallway at the very end. Here we have a lamp, a clock, and either a chair or a giant feather thing on one side. And on the other side there is a blue door.
And I only had to find all that out by rewatching several episodes and freeze-framing multiple times to the point of agony.
Making my best guess as to where the kitchen is: it’s probably at the very, very end of the hallway, past all the bedrooms and main hallway, to the blue door on the right side of the alcove. I figured this by the blue door having a similar door handle and that it opens in from the left instead of the right like all the others on the same floor.
So. The most logical thought is that Nandor went into the kitchen in order to get the drinks, right? But how does this get him to the balcony?
In the Local News episode, Guillermo makes towards down the hall with his dinner but Colin Robinson stops him and tells him not to go that way. Here we see Guillermo put his hand on the left stair banister to indicate that he is going to take the stairs up and head to the dining room on the second floor.
If Guillermo goes to the dining room from upstairs then we can make the leap that the dining room was the intended location to begin with when he was going down the hall. So - there must be a way to do that, right? In the little tag at the end of the episode Guillermo finishes his dinner and goes right instead of left like he did when he was running away from The Baron.
He then takes these little stone stairs to the first floor but right before that we have a small little peak of horizontal subway tile.
Which is the exact subway tile that we see in the kitchen.
So the kitchen connects to the staircase to the second floor in the hallway of the dining room. And, because we have just seen Guillermo run down that same hallway and take a left, crashing into the wooden frame and onto the first floor…
… if Nandor took those same stairs up, went down the hall, past the dining room, and took a left….he would be right on the balcony.
Looking down on Guillermo's confession.
And, since nothing happens in wwdits without being filmed the next question would be: well ok but was it filmed? Because if it wasn’t filmed then it didn’t happen. You can’t have the reveal. Now wwdits doesn’t exactly play fair all the time with its film crew. There’s several times when a shot is impossible by virtue of it supposedly being filmed in real time. And really, that’s just going to happen. You can’t use a lot of film language already with how wwdits is filmed and making sure every shot is in accordance to roughly 4-5 in-universe apparently human people with no reshoots is impossible. But we have been a little bit more trained to think about the film crew this season, what with them actually participating more into what we’re shown - the set up of shots, hearing them ask questions and push Guillermo to talk about his turning with Derek, the crew that followed Guillermo to talk to his mother is actually pointed out to be two people, when his aunt asks them if they're hungry. From that we can also start thinking about how there are probably two people per plot (a plot and b plot), one for camera and another most likely a producer or sound guy. And we know that just about everyone is downstairs in this intervention, with the exception of Laszlo, who is catatonic and easily visible in the library on everyone’s right. So if just about everyone is in one place you would only need two people here. The other two would follow the ‘b’ plot: Nandor. But we don’t see anyone follow him down the hall.
Well, again keeping in mind impossible shots happen all the time, I don’t think it’s a stretch to give a little weight to this shot here:
Right after Guillermo and The Baron part ways and Guillermo opens the door, frying the Baron for the second time, that shot is caught from the balcony, but it would have been ‘impossible’ considering none of the crew were seen going upstairs. Even if they had left with Nadja or Nandor when the camera had turned to close in on the The Baron and Guillermo’s conversation, both of them had gone down the hall on the first floor (most likely to their rooms) while The Guide went across, away from the stairs, probably to the library with Laszlo. So there would have been no reason for them to be upstairs if they were following the vampires like they’re supposed to.
Unless, they were already upstairs to begin with.
Conclusion:
So we have the opportunity and means for both part of the camera crew and Nandor to have been up on the balcony while Guillermo confessed:
A part of the crew, probably stuck upstairs after Guillermo had run away from The Baron, stayed up there for any number of various reasons. Damage to their equipment, resetting equipment, etc. but either way, they’re not necessary to film the gang downstairs since they are all together at the moment.
Nandor, going down the hall, to the very end, and then to the right puts him into the kitchen. From there he either can’t find a platter, cups, blood, becomes curious, who the hell knows, and decides to go upstairs using the tiny stone staircase hidden there. (maybe he is looking for a fancy platter to put the drinks on and they would be all upstairs in the dining room since they were just hosting a party).
Maybe hearing his name or anything else to spark his curiosity he walks down the hall and towards the balcony that Guillermo was just running down a few minutes earlier. There he watches Guillermo talk about being turned by Derek.
The other half of the crew that were left upstairs get lucky enough to catch it on tape and then lucky again to get a perfect shot of The Baron being fried for a second time when that happens later.
Nandor returns to the group with his platter of drinks, knowing that Guillermo went behind his back to be turned by Derek. No one but the crew knows he was ever up there.
And that is how (I think) Nandor was on the balcony the whole time.

NEVERMIND after a good night's sleep and seeing some other posts I have decided that Nandor doesn't know because he's stupid however I think he has figured out that he cares for Guillermo a lot more than he'd like to admit, hence his general sadness. Man's figured out he's in love and now he's going through it big time
The Nandor Knows Theory™ has actually started to look really convincing. Before episode 8 I wouldn't have agreed, but Nandor's behaviour at the end of the episode seemed kinda off to me.
So first of all, Nandor appears quite down and quiet after the threat of Guillermo's life becomes more of a sure thing (in the eyes of the other vampires) and he doesn't even seem to recover to his full self after finding Guillermo in the coffin. He's initially surprised and pleased to see Guillermo is still here, but after establishing it's the real Guillermo he's dismissive, immediately brushing him off and going straight to his coffin to sleep. This implies all is not right, no?
There's then the way Nandor keeps asking him questions this season that allude to Guillermo keeping secrets, which Nandor then turns into a joke when he doesn't get an answer straight away. Prior to episode 8 I was in disbelief that Nandor could get even stupider, but now I'm starting to think it's an act..
ALSO Nandor repeated about how he knows Guillermo better than anyone. It's like he's waiting for Guillermo to tell him the truth, and as I mentioned previously, Nandor has been asking many times if there's anything Guillermo wants to share with him. I could be reading into it too much and I most definitely am, but I feel like he could've suspected Guillermo's vampirism for a while but wasn't certain until today, hence his overall sadness. Idk his personality just seemed flatter than usual after all that shit went down with the Baron.
Idk I'm not completely sold on this theory, but I just read a post by another Tumblr user suggesting Nandor could've given Guillermo blood instead of coke to test him, and how after figuring out the truth, Nandor realised he couldn't turn Guillermo to save him from death via Barron Afanas.
His behaviour just seems off at the end to me!! Like he just realised his friend is alive and safe and still with him. Like he CHOSE to stay and Nandor still seemed depressed and or unsatisfied??
I'm definitely overthinking this but I wanted to share my take on it. Sorry if this is incomprehensible I'm really tired
#wwdits#wwdits season 5#wwdits spoilers#nandor the relentless#guillermo de la cruz#wwdits theories#big switch around but then again i was exhausted when i wrote the first time

Thoughts on new WWDITS episode 6x07:
•Guidor is a red herring and I'm pretty sure we saw Nandor give up on her during the post credits scene when he saw Jerry at the door because we've seen previously whenever there's a little bit of resistance to his rebound loneliness relationships he tends to give up immediately. He literally said, "Fuck it," and gave up immediately when he was met with the smallest amount of resistance in the form of Jerry.
•We have seen that Nandor is routinely out of touch with his feelings especially when he's coping. He will actively say one thing because he's trying to convince himself of that thing, even though he feels another way. I believe that he doesn't actually think that humans are replaceable, because Guillermo is proof to the contrary. The amount of times that he has protected, stayed loyal to, saved Guillermo says that he doesn't believe that.
•I'm buying into the whole "Guillermo not being fully transformed means that he's an EV" theory and I'm pretty sure that's why Colin punched the shit out of him. Colin is the embodiment of milk toast. We've literally never once seen Colin angry EVER. Except once. EXCEPT when he was having an EV-off with Evie. I think Guillermo is feeding off of others' emotions (which emotion I'm not sure?? Possibly respect or admiration? We've seen EVs feed off of a variety of different emotions) and Colin got really fucking angry because he sensed competition, like he did with Evie. I don't think Guillermo knows he's feeding though, obviously, because I think we would see a lot more of the office staff fatigued/tired if he was trying to actively feed. Though I don't know why Colin wouldn't have picked up on it like he did with Evie—something something Van Helsing blood something something Colin is still a new EV because he was just born so he's not as good at sussing out competition yet?????
•The reason I think Guillermo is feeding off of admiration or something similar like respect is because we've seen that the office staff react positively to people putting others down. When Guillermo makes fun of Colin during their bit in the conference room, the room swells with "oooohs" and laughter. I think they admire Guillermo in this moment. Cue Colin punch. The next time, Guillermo is trying to talk to the office about mental health and be a "hero" for Colin, trying to give him some grace. I would imagine this would evoke a lot of admiration or respect again, since he's trying to be kind to Colin and very publicly offer him help. Cue another beatdown from Colin.
•I think that this would also fall neatly into Guillermo's arc of always having wanted respect and admiration from others. He's always wanted to feel like someone worthy of that.
•I don't exactly know how that would really work though in continuing his arc because I feel like I would rather have him find out that he needs self-respect and self admiration before finding that another people? But that's the best I got.
•Lazlo is most definitely going to turn Sean and probably Charmaine into vampires or learn something about mortality in the process if he doesn't
•Basically Paul Simms when I catch you. Paul when I fucking GET you.
•Add your thoughts

This is probably a common theory among the wwdits fandom but I’m new and I’m deep in this fandom now.
Rewatching it cause I can’t help myself, gives it a whole new watch when you realize how much Nandor and Guillermo care for eachother, even if Nandor is a bit of an idiot.
In season 2, episode 2, they pretty much imply that Familiars die super easily and it doesn’t seem like it’s common for vampires to even have one, considering the few times we’ve seen them, it feels like they’re less than 20 familiars in the vampire community of New York. And there’s alot of vampires.
I think Nandor has kept Guillermo protected the entire time. The entire 12 or more years of service Guillermo, Nandor has protected him and that’s now my personal head cannon cause it’s just too sweet 😭😭😭

WHY ARE PEOPLE LEAVING FANDOM'S? WHAT I HAVE FOUND OUT.
So, I have noticed that a lot of my mutual's for many fandom's ( TUA, TWD, Z-NATION, WWDITS, Derry Girls, HOTD, etc. ) have been dropping like flies.
[ I love you my beautiful friends, and I hope one day you will feel comfortable and safe to come back 😘 ]
It got me thinking, why? Why? WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?! But, after talking to a few of my mutual's on other apps, it came down to mainly three common things with these mutual's. ( note, this is not for every fandom / fan, this was just the mutual's that I talked to, okay? )
1. The TV show ended, so there isn't much reason to stick around anymore. ( Umbrella Academy, The Walking Dead, Derry Girls, Z-Nation, What We Do in the Shadows, etc. )
Which is valid. If there are no more ( Ex. Sunday episodes for HOTD or Sunday episodes for TWD ) not many fans wanna stick around.
Then, after so many fans leave. It kind of becomes a 'dead fandom'. Where people sometimes goes back to time to time and be like, "Oh, I remember that show.." for nostalgia.
2. Their interests have changed.
Like any common trend, some people just say, "Nah, I don't like *insert show* anymore. I liked the 5th season and 2nd. But, I'm just not that into *insert genre* tv shows anymore." Again, valid.
Everyone had gone through one kind of phase before. It could have been books ( PJO, HP, etc. ) or fashion ( Skinny jeans, graphic t-shirts, etc. ) or music ( MCR, Blood on the Dance Floor, etc. )
It's fine to grow and change.
3. The fandom doesn't feel like a fandom anymore. This is a BIG one that many have told me.
People are clashing together, book vs tv show fights, character x character ships are constantly hating on each other, death threats are being sent to actors / fans / fanfic writers, you can't share your opinion without someone sending hate, etc.
The best example is HOTD. A fandom that I am in / write for.
Now, now, here me out! I have been very open about the hate in the fandom. You can check. I've gotten hate for writing about highly requested character's ( Aegon, Aemond, etc. ) and I have called out how fans are acting towards each other / actors.
What I don't get is this. We are all in the same fandom.
How did we go from, "Oh, Tom Glynn-Carney is really cute in Aegon's wig. It suits him.", "I have a fan theory that maybe in the next episode they'll do this part from the book because the teaser at the end of the episode it shows..", and, "I hope they put this scene in the show!"
To "Oh, you think Tom Glynn-Carney is cute as Aegon? Well you support r@pe and deserve death threats!", "Oh, you wrote a fanfic / oneshot / etc. for this character? Oh, it has a trope that it being used by a lot of other writers? Here's hate for that!", and, "Tom Glynn-Carney says that Aegon is a complex character...so clearly he supports..."
The main point is that this is why soooooo many of people are dropping out of fandom's. And when people call it out, they either get run out of the fandom as well or blasted for it with death threats.
Fandom's used to be places where people could go to geek out with others. A safe place. It's why there is comic con, etc. People want to know other fans, the want a safe place to go to.
Now, it's become a place where you have to mostly keep your head down low and not say a thing to avoid being run out because you share a different opinion.
In conclusion? I hope that fandom's can be kind to each once again so that people feel safe / comfortable to come back.
To all my beautiful fans who were run out / felt like they had to leave a fandom, I love you and understand why you left. I hope one day you will come back and find joy in the fandom that you once did.
To those of you running out fans / sending death threats. It's you that ruins the fandom. Fandom's were safe places for people, now you've ruined it for those people.
If you don't like a fandom / other fan, you have other options :
1. IGNORE THEM AND LEAVE THEM ALONE!
2. BLOCK A TAG / ACCOUNT YOU DON'T LIKE!
3. DON'T SEND DEATH THREATS!
4. FIND A PART OF THE FANDOM THAT MATCHES YOU AND STICK TO IT!
5. Block their account / tag, ignore them, not send death threats, leave them alone and enjoy the parts of the fandom that matches you.
It's that simple!
----
hopefully i can get this out there. so i am tagging some of the bigger people i know / follow..

More wwdits s5 theory talk following ep1-2
The documentary crew has changed tactics 👀 It used to be when Guillermo asked them for a moment of privacy, they’d back off. (And then they’d try the sneaky way). Now they kept actively pestering him to get to the bottom of the story. We also saw something we never ever saw before: pre-roll film. They gave us a conversation between Laszlo and Nandor while setting up for an interview!
So here’s my theory: the series is reaffirming to us that this is a story within a story. That it has unreliable narrators. There are things the housemates do not share with the film crew, and I think this time, it’s going to be something big they’ll try to keep off the cameras. I think we’re going to be seeing a lot more sneaky footage in the future…
Also that moment where Guillermo alluded to the editing of all the good bits? The joke supposedly is that Nandor never did anything nice. Which is bullocks, I can think of plenty. However, If I was making that documentary, that would *not* be the place in the story where I’d be putting that montage in 👀

OK SO HI long time no see (er post? or at least post like this)
my brain worms have been on and off for a bit but THE POSTER FOR SEASON 6 HAS GOT THEM ALL FIRED UP
so as I do when my brain is doing zoomies I'm gonna point at things!
right off the bat OMFG I LOVE THIS SO MUCH
like the vibes here are just *chef's kiss* good shit right there
I know it's just typical wwdits promo stuff that guillermo has a wtf is going on what did I just get dragged into face but in this context with everyone looks like enamored to some degree with the house is giving character discovered big bad thing/the reason why things are fucked energy
also just over all love how guillermo looks here (like slay you horrified king <3)
WHY IS THERE 5 BATS!?!?
like ok only 4 of the main 6 cast are currently able to turn into bats so like HMMM?
save me vampire guillermo endgame vampire guillermo endgame vampire guillermo endgame save me
part of me only thinks that the bat is only there cuz guillermo used to be a vampire and the farthest bat is him moving on from wanting to be a vampire
buuuuuut that's not as fun so LET ME DREAM
speaking of the bats the grouping of the bats are ALSO interesting
just saying IF the 5th bat is supposed to guillermo that means the 2 paired off bats are probably nandermo given how they tend to stick together (I mean they're literally RIGHT NEXT TO EACH OTHER in the poster)
now off the top of my head it could be referencing how nandor will be following guillermo as he tries to get a normal job or something like that next season (given that the lower of the 2 bats looks like they're going after the top bat who's going off somewhere away from the rest)
but come on we all know that we're low key hoping this means nandermo world trip part 2: it actually happens this time (like one bat is leading and the other is catching up)
if FOR SOME REASON isn't nandermo bats going off to do god knows what my only other theory is that it represents the guide and guillermo given that they're kinda outsiders?
eh still team nandermo bats
lighting go brrrr
that's it that's the comment
ok but like the house looks fucking evil here
I know they're prob going for a evil house on a hill/dracula's castle thing with that angle but with the way everyone is facing it and the way they all kinda look hypnotized by it the house ITSELF looks evil
the house is the real bad guy and controls everyone reveal next season!?!?! /j
and that's about all I have to word vomit for now
AHHHHHH CAN'T BELIEVE WE HAVE A FUCKING RELEASE DATE NOW
#looking too deep into shit how I missed you#(well I mean I have still been just on discord not on tumblr)#*insert I abandoned my boy gif here*#what we do in the shadows#wwdits#wwdits season 6#wwdits s6#word garbage™#DJOWHIIWEFVIWRHFEGFHIWPEGUOEWHIFEHEWOPHIFOHIWPIBJOWHIPIFEBO WE'RE SO FUCKING BACK BITCHES#GAY VAMP HYPE MODE WENT FROM JUST ON TO SO ON IDFK IF I'M GONNA SLEEP TONIGHT

IWTV S2 Ep6 Musings: Random (Spoilers)
This
youtube
RJ wants Dan's body to get close to the vamps. He's still in the order, but already plotting a coup. But I reckon he's lying; he's not even tryna ask them any questions, he just wants to get in their presence so he can do the switch. The question remains: WHICH vamp does RJ want? (Naturally, he's arrogant enough to want Armand, an ancient, but my money's on him picking Louis as the safer bet; the weaker target who might not put up as much of a fight)
I'd love to see this alleged list, but this old heifer's LYING, I can feel it in my bones. This is a GREAT concept if it's legit--the Talamasca using Daniel as a mole to learn more about vamps, and even collaborate, since the vamps are telling it all anyway--their subterfuge almost doesn't make any sense; just walk right up to them and be like hey, if you want to talk we're listening.
Ok so Rashid & Raglan are in the same frame, so my theory about Rashid being Raglan's a bust. He could still be a Talamasca mole though; it's mighty sus how he doesn't bat an eyelash at Raglan chatting Daniel up. Then Rashid LIED to Armand about Dan!
And LAZY AF Armand doesn't even scan their brains to verify!? OMFG! 🤦 You DESERVE every mutiny that happens under your roof, Armand, this is ridiculous. Why bother being a vampire if you won't even USE the powers you have? Don't be like effing LOUIS.
(Gives me life every time.) Unfortunately, however, Santiago's nowhere near as dumb as they think--
--Santiago gave the coven Claudia's diaries oml they're all reading them right in front of Claudia & Armand, the SAVAGERY--
--not Sam too, omg, ain't a single vamp on Armand's side, yikes--
--and Louis should know better, since Lestat & Antoinette got the jump on him & Claudia before! Yes, Claudia had an extra plan, but THESE AIN'T FAMILY VAMPS; these vampires are VICIOUS! If Armand's lazy, Louis & Claudia are NAIVE AF! DANG.
The coven is SKATING around Armand, this is sad. Santiago's playing 5D chess. (And Celeste & Estelle are maker-fledgling~! I see!).
Wow, the IWTV-WWDITS crossover I didn't expect, "Let's Go Sunning" was also used in the end credits song in S01E06 when The Baron was BURNED ALIVE IN THE SUN I HATE Y'ALL SO MUCH!

Hello I’m here to throw out more batshit WWDITS finale theories
Somehow Guillermo accidentally gets killed in the last episode and it’s like a slow, has time to say words kind of death and so feelings and stuff can be said
But instead of turning Guillermo into a vampire at that moment Nandor lets him die and then turns him into a zombie like Topher
And he’s like “hooray now he can never leave!” even though everyone knows that fucking sucks and we’re stuck in a bittersweet limbo of existence forever
Don’t get me wrong I don’t like this ending but fuck I’m gonna put that prediction out there lol
#wwdits#ramblings#listen considering the fact that in interviews they said that fans will be satisfied with certain things but it’ll happen not how ppl expect#I wouldn’t be surprised if they give us confessions but make it suck ass lol

In honor of wwdits s5 coming out soon im going to be listing batshit crazy theories bc at this point the more absurd the theory, the higher the chance of it existing.
Guillermo doesn't turn into a vampire but shows a lot of vampire tendencies. Its later revealed that Nandor wished for him to never be able to turn into a vampire but his slayer blood desperately wants him to be one and that's why he's still showing symptoms
Aka slayer blood trope pulls and uno reverse
Colin Robinson's real name is Robinson Colin
This is what disqualifies him from winning the election that he would've totally won in a landslide
We get Greg/camera crew lore (plz I love them and I want to know everything abt them)
The Guide was actually the one that put the hex on Nadja a long time ago and they both forgot
The Djinn gets hella bitches this season
Nandor gets emotionally attached to that carousel
Sean doesn't even actually come out, he just says something and it's misinterpreted as a coming out
Alternatively, they're all incredibly gay
Guillermo fucks that old man (guess)
Its revealed that Laszlo is only helping Guillermo so he can later on make him help him get his witch hat back from Simon the Devious
Now bc I wanna add a bit of ✨spice✨
Series finale hot take:
camera crew looks back at all the footage and says "wow go girls, you gave us nothing" and deletes the footage of the entire show

Out of curiosity, do you have any theories for why the bizarre narrative shift wwdits had circa late s4 happened?
I've gotten some uh. Pretty intense anons for saying what I'm about to say, for some reason, but sure, yeah. I'll talk about it. This will be pretty long because I haven't written wwdits meta in a long time, but. Oh well.
For s4 specifically... There's something that Anoop Desai, the actor who plays the Djinn, said in an interview once that I thought was really interesting. He said that they initially only wanted him to be in a few episodes of s4 and told him they'd go from there. As we all know, he ended up doing a great job with the part, the Djinn ended up becoming wildly popular, and the role was expanded.
But when you think about it... a lot of things in the back half of s4 only happened because the Djinn was around, right? The wish for Marwa to like whatever Nandor liked (and its subsequent issues), the wish for Marwa to become a Freddie clone... Those can only happen the way they did because the Djinn's wishes were available as a plot device. It's entirely possible that they were going to happen anyway, just another way, but... I don't think it's really going too far to say that there had to be rewrites of late season s4 in order to incorporate the Djinn, and we just have no way of knowing how extensive those rewrites turned out to be.
I think certain aspects of the end of s4 still had to have been there (a boyfriend for Guillermo, the wedding going poorly) but the exact way that things played out? Well, it did kind of smack of last-minute rewrites to me. We know there was also a lot of confusion about episode order, too, with the wedding seeming to have been originally placed closer to the end of the season... (Based on slates seen on IG.)
So... it really does make you wonder if things might have gone very differently if not for the Djinn's presence. I always kind of felt like I got monkey pawed because I love the Djinn, I really wanted him to be around longer, but then... oof.
s4 was kind of bewildering because it had some truly wonderful episodes, but there was a sense that they were building up to something that just never happened. A lot of themes, like Guillermo learning he can't lie to his loved ones and still keep a strong relationship with them, were really emphasized only to be dropped when they should have been very important with Freddie and all of s5.
Even what I'd argue was the most successful part of s4, the relationship between Laszlo and Colin, was really kind of unceremoniously dumped in s5.
I feel like s4 was where we really started to see a lack of payoff in long-running arcs. s2 was really the last time a season finale cliffhanger had much of any impact on the long-term events of the show (and s3 was when there was a showrunner change, so that could partially be why) and I think that fans were hoping that we'd still see those long-term arcs for characters, especially when s3 on seemed to focus more on characterization and relationship-building.
But what's actually ended up happening is that we constantly get these build-ups that either fizzle out, go nowhere, or worse, get retconned altogether. There's been a real lack of canon consistency the last few seasons, and what felt like small momentary lapses in consistency (like Nandor suddenly being better at hypnotism than Laszlo when the opposite was true in s2) suddenly felt much more dire when fundamental character changes seemed to happen with characters like Guillermo.
I've noticed a real divide between s1-s2 Guillermo and s3, s4, and s5 Guillermo, with him starting to get... almost Flanderized, honestly, with his whole uwu I could never hurt anyone thing. It seems to get worse every season, and this last season making it canon that he feels no guilt towards killing vampires but could ~never~ kill a human (despite being totally blase about it in early seasons) really seems to turn the whole conceit that he loves supernatural creatures (and can't meaningfully connect with humans due to his social otheredness) on its head. Personally, I'd consider that a core aspect of not only Guillermo's characterization but the overarching themes of the show, so it really kind of shocked me.
(In other words, I'm not actually disappointed that he didn't become a vampire. I always kind of thought that was how things were going to happen. But to make it be because he's too gentle?? Because he values human life over vampire lives??? Oof! That lack of character consistency is rough!)
I guess... the reason why I thought the end of s4 was rough was the rewrites. It really did feel rushed, and often themes/characters/relationships seemed to be chucked out in favor of jokes that weren't even all that funny. But I think the overall quality dip (imo) of the last season and a half are due to larger problems. There's a lack of commitment to things established in early seasons that I find troubling, and a total inability to commit to the arcs they're writing now, too.
It's odd. I feel like the first two seasons were more episodic and were less concerned with big arcs, but they still pulled off slowly growing character changes well -- Guillermo finding out he's a slayer especially. Since the showrunner change, they've been much more ambitious about characters, relationships, and long-running arcs -- but they never seem to stick the damn landing! They're aiming higher (building expectations) and landing lower. Which is a bad combination.
So then you have s5, which kind of feels like a culmination of all this. Characterization choices that don't always make sense, season-long arcs that don't go fucking anywhere and ignore previous canon (Laszlo was particularly egregious here), important characterization moments being thrown out in favor of jokes that no one fucking liked. (God, those fucking hybrid creatures.) And in the end, they again refuse to commit and instead send things back to a status quo, now made even shittier because they've closed off a narrative path.
I would hope that this season finale would mean something and we'd see the characters dealing with everything it brings up for the next season, but that didn't fucking happen the last two times, so... I have low hopes. I'd love to be proven wrong, but. I do feel very tired.
Finally... In retrospect, I actually think the death knell came very early on in s4. It was the time jump. Instead of really dealing with the way that any of these characters would have to function with the set-up they created in s3, they skipped all that. I'm not sure Guillermo ever really made that much sense after that, especially, and I think it's because they simply didn't think about what that year would mean to him very much. In interviews, we've seen that Harvey had to make up a lot of backstory himself, we've seen that Harvey and Al independently came up with two very different backstories for how Guillermo and Freddie met and how long they knew each other, we know that the writers often didn't really seem to know what Guillermo was doing in London...
Like. I hate to say it, but that's lazy writing. A time skip doesn't have to be lazy writing, but it often is. It's often used to skip the hard work of getting from characters from A to B, and the only way to do one well is to still know what happened during it. But once they did that, we started to increasingly get these [scene (and characterization) missing here] periods that really brought down the momentum every single time.
So... I guess I think that's been the overarching problem. Rewrites, a lack of loyalty to early canon and worse, a lack of loyalty to the stories they're writing now. If they're not invested in the story arcs they're making, why should we get invested? The way that the whole Laszlo and Colin thing was barely ever mentioned again in s5 was egregious. It was treated as lasting trauma in s4 and then Laszlo seemed totally fine in s5, even going so far as to have sex with the man he'd seen as his son like... two weeks before. For a while, we kept thinking that his weird behavior towards Guillermo was a form of transference, but that never really amounted to anything, either. I think we were just putting too much faith in the writers, maybe.
I guess, in the end, that's probably the biggest problem of all. The writers did some really amazing stuff in the first three seasons. They had a lot of long cons, so to speak, and it was hugely fun to see those pay off. We came to trust the writers, and now we keep thinking that these confusing plot arcs are just one more long con.
But they're not.
So we just get annoyed and let down every single time because we keep expecting payoffs that never come anymore, and in the end we just get kinda bitter.
That's just my two cents, anyway. And it really is still possible to turn things around! But uh. There's not much more time to do it. lmao
Fingers crossed, I guess. (But not around the vampires.)

My theory on WWDITS Season 5
So this is my theory that I've posted on the WWDITS discord already: I think Guillermo will become a full on monster, like the Sire.He already has the charactaristics of the Sire with the wings and the ears. But I think he will become a reverse-sire. So instead of being able to turn humans into vampires: he will be turning vampires back to humans.
I think Derek is already back to being human; and thats why the vampire he tried to turn the second time exploded. Because it didnt make sense that Derek didn't explode because he technically also got bitten for the second time. And my prediction for the last episode of S5 is Laszlo not being able to hide monster-Guillermo anymore, and he shows Nandor what Guillermo has become. Nandor becomes pissed and wants to kill Laszlo first for hiding this from him; Guillermo attacks Nandor to protect Laszlo. He bites Nandor, Nandor becomes human. Nandor will probably use a wish to make Guillermo human too, and another one to make Laszlo and the filmcrew forget about monster-Guillermo. Thats why the crew and hypnosis/forgetting keep getting mentioned every episode And then season 6 starts with them being human and a couple and navigating their new life as humans while still living with vampires. Maybe season 6 will end with them turning back to vampires again.
This is a Theory, and kind of a prediction. Just wanted to put it out there.
