wuya  slides  out  of  the  shadowy  corner  with  one  long  stride.  intruding  on  rsa  grounds  was  very  easy  when  you  could  come  and  go  like  he  did.  and  much  to  his  satisfaction,  he  had  timed  this  trip  rather  well.  spotting  charles  as  soon  as  his  vision  adjusted  to  the  sunlight.  "  whatcha  doin?  "  wuya  hums  curiously,  as  he  leans  on  the  back  of  the  other's  chair--  peering  over  his  shoulder.  "  looks  pretty  dull...are  you  really  studying?  on  a  day  like  this??  you  could  be  out  sunbathing  right  now.  "

It seems like Chase can only teleport between any places within a space he controls.Â
We only see him do things that are unambiguously teleportation when heâs in his own domain. He teleports behind Wuya while sheâs looking in the water in his palace in Oil in the Family, and he teleports to where the monks are when theyâre in the Land of Nowhere.
He can travel very fast a lot of other times and skulk into the shadows very stealthily anywhere, but this specific flashy move where the dust is kicked up and he appears out of thin air is exclusive to his domain.
When Chase absorbs Omiâs chi and Omiâs dots, his power increases so much that heâs able to stretch out his domain to encompass of all reality, which is how heâs able to immediately do things like blanket the world in darkness and alter the landscape into something so dull and bleak.
Itâs also why he can now teleport directly into temple grounds, far outside the Land of Nowhere.

Yin-Yang Chapter 24: Collision Course
Chase Young x Abused! Reader
Everyone gathered at the remains of the front gate as instructed. âAre we missing anyone?â Chase asks looking to see if someone was missing. âWait, whereâs-â âIâm coming!!! Donât leave the dragon.â Dojo said as he slithers his way to the rest of the team, getting out of breath. âHow are we supposed to leave you? Youâre our ride.â Raimundo says as he looks down at the tiny dragon. âHah! Do you honestly think that weâll be traveling on HIM? Psh! Donât insult me.â Chase says as before black smoke begins to form at their feet and begins to surround them entirely. Everyone watches the smoke in awe before Chase draws their attention, âTHIS is how I travel.â With that the smoke encases the group and theyâre teleported to Chaseâs home.Â
When the smoke clears, they find themselves in Chaseâs thrown room, surrounded by Chaseâs cats growling at them. Chase simply waves his hand and they disperse, Scar walking off along with them. Chase then tosses the Third Arm Sash to Clay and the Mantis Flipcoin to Kimiko saying âI feel as though youâll get better use out of these than I would.â before making his way to the Wu Room. âPick whatever youâd like, but remember that once the truce is over, youâll return the Wu youâve borrowed. Got it?â After everyone agreed, he gestured for them to go ahead, and they bolt passed him before he walks away. When the group finishes picking their Shen Gong Wu, they begin looking for Chase. Omi finds him in his room, staring down at a pillow, before Omi gestures to the others. Guan and Omi each place a hand on each of his shoulders. âDo not fear, Chase. We will search the beginnings of the earth to find her. Then we will take up King Yan.â Chase couldnât help but smile at Omiâs attempt to cheer him up, as he rolls his eyes before telling the tiny boy, who reminded his A LOT of his old master. âEnds of the earth and take down King Yan. But I appreciate the thought Omi. Now, if youâve all finished, letâs get go-⌠Wait a minute.â âWHAT? WHAT IS IT?â The four young monks asked in perfect sync. âChase?â Guan looked at his old friend in concern. âKing Yan isnât overpowering her energy. She must have gotten away from him. But I can also sense that Wuya is not far behind her, and catching up to her too.â He says with a look of hope in his eyes. âWell? What are we waiting for? Letâs hurry up and get her out of there.â Raimundo exclaims, seeing the same opening that everyone else sees in this situation. âAgreed. We must hurry if we want to get to (Y/n) before she does.â Chase says as he quickly grabs the Shroud of Shadows off the bed before beginning the teleport once more. âBesides, NOBODY takes my kitten away from me and gets away with it.â
(Y/n)âs lungs burn as she tries to out running Wuya as she throws green fireballs to try and trap her. âIâM DEAD! IâM DEAD! IâM DEAD! IâM DEAD! IâM DEAD!â These thoughts going through both of their heads has the chase continues. She then finds a tiny opening on the side of a cliff. Praying that it goes farther than Wuyaâs arm can, she quickly transforms into her kitten form and dives into the crack, squeezing her way as far as she can. âGET BACK HERE YOU LITTLE RAT!!!â Wuya yells as she reaches into the crack, trying to grab the little kitten. âYeah, no thanks.â (Y/n) says before crawling deeper into the split.
Not far away, Chase and the others appear on the scene and find Wuya grabbing at, what they can only assume to be, (Y/n). Raimundo then steps forward with a large sword in his hands, âSWORD OF THE STORM!â He then swings the sword downward causing the sword to form a huge gust of wind that pushes Wuya away from the gap. She then looks up to find, not just the four monks, but Master Monk Guan and, more shockingly, Chase stood amongst them. âOh shi-â Wuya says before getting interrupted by another blast of wind. âChase, you and the others deal with Wuya. Dojo and I will get (Y/n). GOLDEN TIGER CLAWS!â Guan says as he pulls out a gauntlet of claws and slices a hole in thin air before he and Dojo jump through it and jumping out into a small clearing on the other side of the crack just as (Y/n) crawls in the opening as well and bumps into Guanâs leg. Before she could scurry away from the large stranger, Guan picked her up and cradles her in his large hands as she cowers in fear, not knowing that heâs on her side until Dojo crawls to his hands and pets her head and speaks in a soothing voice. â(Y/n), Itâs okay. Weâre here to help. This is Master Monk Guan, he and Chase use to fight alongside each other.â (Y/n) timidly looked up at Dojo then to the large man before asking âCan you take me to him? Itâs not too late, right?â (Y/n)âs question caught Guan by surprise and he looks at her lovingly. âYes, weâll take you to him.â He says before making another rip in the air and jumping through to get right back where they were before to find the battle was nearly won. Chase took the Shroud of Shadows off to reveal himself next to Guan. â(Y/N)!!! Iâm so glad that youâre unharmed.â âCHASE!!! YOUâRE ALIVE!!! But how? You know what, I donât even care how. Iâm just glad that I didnât lose you too.â (Y/n) says as she jumps into his arms while transforming back into her human form in the process. âYouâre the one who saved me Kitten. Besides, I vowed that I would never let you feel alone ever again. Iâm just sorry that I broke my promise for even a little bit.â Chase responds hugging her like he was never going to let her go again. (Y/n) bursted into tears as Chase rubbed her back to calm her. Suddenly, Wuya let out a shout of pain before crumbling to the ground. âAll of you will regret this, and I assure you that once itâs over, youâll wish that I was the one to make you regret it.â Just as those words her mouth, black lightning lit up the sky, radiating the entire area with an ominous aura. Wuya struggled to her feet as she laughed maniacally as the black lightning became more and more intense before coming together to strike a single spot. When the dust clears from that spot, HE stood in its place.

It really is a fascinating parallel between Omi and Chase. When Omi disappeared in the finale, it was looking for him and keeping the world safe from evil that kept his friends together. With Wuya defeated and the world becoming more peaceful, Guan and Dashi largely would have been concerned if him Vanishing into thin air wasn't a normal behavior for him. Then if they think they had proof he died, without even being able to host a proper funeral, the one thing holding them together would be hope of taking revenge on the monster that took him from them, rather than hope of finding him. Which is likely to weaken what remains of their group structure further.
They have no idea why Guan was spared. As far as they know it ran off on a whim. Guan feeling a quiet fury that it would have just not killed him for whatever its reasons.
They spend their time after this trying to hunt it down when it sporadically appears. Each time slipping away from their grasp after pulverizing another village or city. Always one step ahead. Not willing to let themselves break and grieve until the job is done.
Only to find that the person they thought they were avenging was never dead at all. But rather that he's alive and well, and that he had switched to the dark side. Mocking them for their belief that they could kill the monster for vengeance, since he fully believes he would have been betrayed had he not done it first.
Their group crumbled after that. The final tie they had cut clean through when their quest came undone at the seams. Guan feeling betrayed that his quest for vengeance for his fallen comrade was for nothing, Dashi seeing everyone around him fall apart and not being able to do anything to save it.
It also gives another reason for Bean to be so sure Chase wouldn't just betray him once he had gotten power, besides disgustingly over the top overconfidence. He had a whole year+ of guiding and manipulating Chase Young as a beast, feeding him more Lao Mang Lone soup with the idea that this would bind Chase under him in loyalty. Unaware of how strong Chase's will would come out after that, and how little he would be inclined to trust.
(writerkat)
So, funny thing I noticed. Anytime someone tells the story of Chase Young turning evil, it basically goes "Chase drank the soup, turned evil, started wrecking villages and doing evil things, and his old friends started fighting him like any other enemy". Plain and simple, cut n dry.
But here's another potential thought on the matter.
Imagine Guan and Dashi. One day Chase suddenly started acting grumpy and moody for no apparent reason, and the next thing they know they haven't seen him in a few days. Starting to get concerned because just disappearing for so long out of nowhere isn't like him.
Then word comes that some reptilian monster has been attacking and destroying villages. They come up against it in the middle of another of its rampages. And while fighting it, one of them notices something. A piece of a familiar, bloody, torn blue sleeve hanging from its teeth when they go to face it.
They fight it, now for more reasons than just the villages it destroyed. It puts up a fight and manages to get Guan on the ground. Dashi is too far off to get it away, and it looks like its about to chomp Guan's face off. But then it doesn't. And instead it runs from them both. Leaving them to comprehend what they think happened to their friend.
Everyone thinks they know what happened, even though no body is ever found. Chase is mourned, for a year the monster continues to sporadically rampage across China. One step ahead of the two remaining Xiaolin Dragons every time.
Until a year later, when the Lao Mang Lone Soup finally gets stabilized enough for its drinker to regain a human form. And then Guan and Dashi get to see what Really became of their "dead" friend. When he reappears with a certain Bean still whispering into his ear.
Thatâs a really good point.
Chase snuck off alone to meet with Hannibal in the middle of the night, some short time after the war with Wuya had just ended, so everyoneâs guards would be lower and they wouldnât be on very high alert. Even for the one day Hannibal gave him to think over the offer, he kept it a secret and thought it over by himself.
It wasnât like when Rai decided to switch sides, then bided his time to get the most out of being a double agent and then stab them in the front with a smile, or when Omi straightforwardly told the monks as soon as his good chi had been taken out that he was ditching them to be with Chase.Â
When Chase switched sides, he did it without a goodbye, all alone. Dashi and Guan wouldâve had no idea that this was the beginning of the end for their trio.
As far as Dashi and Gaun would have known, Chase was there one day, in a standoffish, spacey mood for a little bit. And then, he was gone the next day without a trace. And the exact same time as Chaseâs sudden disappearance, a monstrous lizard is tearing through the country, destroying cities.
Which would lead to a pretty natural conclusion that this monster had gotten Chase, especially if they find a scrap of Chaseâs clothing with it.
We saw in Time After Time part 2 that for some period of time after you first drink the soup, youâre just feral and mindlessly driven by evil, and it doesnât even seem like Chase knows how to shift back to his human form at all at first, he might not even be able to talk.
But tiny bits of you still shine through in little ways. Like a smile when the monks win... or holding back and running away before you can go through with killing your former best friend.Â
I can hardly imagine how it must have felt for Dashi and Guan, after spending a year despising this monster for killing Chase, only to one day find him, alive and well and oh-so-changed.
Especially if they witnessed it for themselves.
Dashi and Guan, 2-v-1 yet again against this Heylin monster. Guan makes some big declaration about how his name would go down in history as the man who finally took down beast. How this was personal, because âthis monster destroyed their trio, took Chase away, and ruined everything they had built.â
And Chase, whose thoughts are finally not in so much turmoil, comprehends the line and finds it so funny, because he thinks it must be a showboat, a lie. Guan doesnât care about him. Heâs probably glad heâs gone so heâs not âin Chaseâs shadowâ anymore. And heâs saying things like that?
Chase bursts into laughter. â--Destroyed your trio? Ruined everything? Broke Chase Young?â Its voice sounds so weird, and this is the first time Guan and Dashi have heard it speak in actual sentences.
The laughter continues hysterically, a discordant, guttural sound at first. A deep cackle that makes Dashi draw back as recognition starts to dawn to on him. A mocking jeer that makes Guan tighten his grip on his weapon and charge at him, weapon drawn, blind with anger. The monster catches the spear by its hilt, but it just keeps laughing and laughing, right in Guanâs face.Â
The laughter slowly shifts into something that sounds more human as the monster slowly shifts back to his human form for the first time. And suddenly, the laughter is painfully familiar to Guan, and so is the voice as he sneers right in Guanâs face.
âNo. I think you did a fine job of that on your own. I wouldnât dare take credit for your accomplishment like that! Wouldnât want to steal your thunder! You didnât need my help for that. You never needed my help for anything, did you, Guan?!â
And Mr. Bean bounces up on Chaseâs shoulder while Guan and Dashi reel back in shock.Â
Mr. Bean grins and claps and pretends to be moved, sardonically saying, âWell, look at you three, back together again! Ainât this so sweet? Oh, I just love tearful reunions.â
