Grief
Tumblr media
Pairing: Jiyan x GN!Reader
Warnings: Grief mentions of death of a family member.
Word Count:  772
Dawn's notes: Hi! Slowly getting back into the swing of things, this is how I cope after losing my grandma and my mother in law.
Tumblr media
Grief is one hell of a bitch. Once the news was delivered to you that your dearest family member had passed you were numb; the stages of denial were running through your head. What were you going to do now? How were you going to proceed with your life now that they were gone. Why? Why why why why why wh-
Someone called your name, looking up all you could see was shapes through your tears it was hard to make the person out. They spoke again but all you could do was let your cheeks get wet as you stood frozen and unsure.
Warm hands cupped your puffy wet cheeks trying to get you to focus. You knew these hands, you knew their softness and their care, you knew the healing they had done. The wind rushed around the two of you taking the last tears away from your eyes.
You were in Jinzhou though you knew not where, the long teal pony tail fell behind your childhood best friend, his beautiful yellow eyes stared at you full of worry and concern for your well being. “Jiyan.” All you could manage was a whisper before you collapsed into his arms crying into his chest. Everything that had just happened finally took its toll on your body, but here was Jiyan holding you steady in the chaos that was now your world.
He said nothing and didn’t move, letting you cry into him as long as you needed. His hand moving slowly up and down your back letting you be in your immediate grief.
Not knowing how much time had passed you pulled away from his now very wet chest and looked up at his face, nose runny and eyes red. “Y-you were on a mission, how are you back home?”
“Don’t worry about me right now, what happened?” His voice was so deep now, almost unrecognizable but it was still your Jiyan.
Shaking your head you hugged him as tight as you could, you needed to be around him and only him right now, he was the only one that could make you feel better. After a moment the two of you made your way to your own home for comfort.
Jiyan made tea for the two of you as you sat there trying to calm down enough to explain to him what was going on. He finally looked comfortable with this heart neatly placed in a corner. Those beautiful golden dragon eyes stared at you waiting.
Raising your tea cup to your lips you closed your eyes letting yourself fall back into your body and finding comfort within his company. After swallowing you looked up at him again with a frown. With a deep breath you started to explain how your family member had passed and your close relationship with them.
The look on his face made your heart sad. “I’m sorry I couldn’t be here when you first found out.” He was moving again, getting closer to you. “Do you know how long you were walking around the city?
Why would he ask you that? “Well I found out today, so maybe a few hours.”
He let out a sigh as he sat in front of you with your knees touching his. “You had wandered around Jinzhou for three days. It’s why I came home this early, because no one could get across to you.”
Three days? How was that even possible? Suddenly your stomach growled, pulling your attention to the neglect that you had given your body. The heat of embarrassment rushed all over your body.
A smile cracked at the corner of Jiyan’s lips. “Go take a bath and sleep. I can take care of everything else.”
Not being given a choice you shamefully made your way to your bathroom taking a well needed bath and shower just to be safe. You were still hungry but now that it had been brought to your attention you hadn’t slept in so long you collapsed in your bed.
When you did wake up it was presumably the next day, though you knew he would take care of everything for you you figured he wouldn’t have stuck around this long. Dressing yourself you made your way back to your living room.
Outside the sun was rising and the birds were chirping, like everything was fine; you weren’t but the world had to move on right? As you stared out of the widow you didn’t even notice the man sleeping on your couch snoring ever so slightly.
You were going to be fine, Jiyan was going to make sure of that.

Two Black Sheep Entwined (Scar x Frover fic) Chapter One
Tumblr media
Summary: “I'm here to offer you a deal. Everyone in Jinzhou is running around like frightened lambs, fretting for their lives because the big bad Fracsidus member is free from jail and on the prowl, right? Well the solution is simple. I'll sit nice and pretty, unable to commit crimes or mischief- but I'll only behave if you're under the same roof, Rover.”
“What?” She croaked, staring. Surely she'd misheard. Rover cleared her throat and tried again. “You want to…live with me?”
Aka: forced cohabitation with Scar x Female Rover

Rating: E (eventually)

The news came in the form of her beacon blaring at her, flashing an angry red. Rover paused in her hike in the Desorock Highlands, wiping salty sweat from her brow and unhooking her beacon from her belt with a frown. The alarm died down, but only a brief moment of silence punctuated the air before a sharp pinging noise echoed off the cliffs. Accepting the incoming call from Yangyang, Rover faced her projection as it was cast upon the rock face.
“What’s wrong? Was that a distress signal?” she asked, catching her breath from the climb.
“I’m afraid so,” Yangyang’s flickering image clasped her hands worriedly. “I don’t know how else to say this but…not too long ago- Scar escaped from Jinzhou prison.”
Rover felt her stomach drop. A strange rush climbed up her spine in tandem with her heart thundering; sending pulsing waves through her body. Something inside her clenched. She suddenly felt exposed. Too out of breath, feverish. Too high on the mountainside like a lost lamb that had strayed too far from its shepherd. She could be seen from leagues away if someone had the right equipment.
He could find her easily.
Muffled words caught her distracted attention, and she fought to refocus on Yangyang’s worried gaze.
“Sorry- what was that?”
“I was just suggesting you hurry back to Jinzhou. The magistrate seems to be too busy with the commotion to summon you herself, but I feel she’d agree. You’re better protected here until we either catch that madman or frighten him off from the area.”
Rover took a breath, a frown marring her brow. “Logically speaking…even Scar wouldn’t be desperate or stupid enough to try anything with me right now. He just escaped. He’ll probably want to hide and flee, as a first priority.”
Concerned blue eyes wavered. “Still…” Yangyang squeezed her hands tighter in the projection, worrying her bottom lip between her teeth.
Knowing nothing would stop her from fretting, Rover gave a smile. “I guess it wouldn’t hurt to be cautious though. I’ll head back. Besides, Chixia will get angry with me if I make you worry unnecessarily.”
Her friend visibly brightened. Her shoulders dropped in relief. “Y-yes!” she forced a light laugh. “And she won’t treat you to any free meals at Panhua’s either!”
Rover gave a soft noise that could pass for a chuckle, “the horror.”
Waving at the projection with what she hoped was a reassuring smile, she waited until the transmission ended and the projection vanished completely. She then sighed, sinking back against the mountain face. She took a moment to just breathe, resting a hand over her chest and feeling the responding ‘thump, thump, thump’ of her thundering heart. Even her legs were shaking, from the strenuous climb or the news, she couldn’t say.
She wasn’t afraid of Scar. Many people thought she was, and inadvertently encouraged her to be. Maybe it would've been smarter to give in to their suggestions and let fear take over. Scar was dangerous. He had a reputation for a reason, and he'd been a force to be reckoned with as an opponent.
No, what frightened her more than anything was the alternate reason her body was filled with adrenaline, high on the thrill. The prospect of just seeing him again. He wasn’t an ordinary person to navigate around, and their encounters often left her with more questions than answers. Even when she’d visited him in Jinzhou’s underground prison and he’d been powerless to harm her- that thrill, that anticipation had been there, strung tight in her lower stomach.
No force on earth would make her ever examine that reaction too closely though. She had expectations to fulfil, a duty to uphold; protect the people at all costs. She had no reason to entertain any thoughts about him, and wouldn’t join his ridiculous cause.
Rover fixed her gaze on the distant spec of white in the distance; Jinzhou city laying quiet and peaceful.
She wouldn’t be swayed. Even by the likes of a confusing, conniving Black Sheep.
It only took a little while to reach a resonance beacon that teleported her back to the main city, but from the moment Yangyang and Chixia saw her they sprang into Protect Rover Mode. She’d been practically frogmarched back to Yangyang’s residence; a quaint little apartment opposite Shifang Pharmacy. Baizhi had soon joined them, sighing and rolling her eyes at their dramatics. Chixia sat next to the window the entire time they chatted, looking outside with the trained eye of a sniper rather than a goofy patroller.
Nothing of note happened though. No news came through about Scar’s capture, but neither were there any sightings. It was like he’d just vanished into thin air.
“Are you sure you don’t want to stay for the night?” Yangyang asked again for the umpteenth time as they all lingered outside City Hall together.
Chixia nodded enthusiastically. “Yeah, or you can even crash in my bunk? Or better yet, take one of us with you back to your apartment! We don’t want you to feel scared or alone while that creep is roaming arou- ow!”
Baizhi straightened after elbowing her friend, resting a calm gaze on Rover. “Just tell us honestly and put the matter to rest; will you be alright by yourself tonight?”
She couldn’t help but grin at her friends. “In City Hall? The place with the highest security in all of Jinzhou? Yes,” she giggled softly. “Yes I’ll be just fine. Besides, if it comes down to it, I’ve fought Scar a few times in the past. I like my chances,” she lifted a shoulder, backing away with a short wave. “Please stop worrying, everyone. I’ll sleep like a rock, I promise.”
“Message us once you’re home! A-and again before you go to bed! Just in case!” Yangyang called, voice growing fainter as Rover jogged away, smiling a carefree smile.
The moment she stood inside City Hall however, Rover let the painful upturn of her mouth drop. She sighed and rubbed her eyes tiredly. Her friends were wonderful, but honestly their worry had burned through her energy quickly. Tension could only be sustained so long before fatigue set in, and Rover felt herself crashing.
Swiping the wall, she stepped into the offered elevator and took it up to a higher floor.
Bed. I just need my bed.
Guards were the first thing she noticed as she stepped off onto her floor. They flanked the elevator entrance, and gave her a short nod when she passed by.
"We did a sweep of your apartment miss, under the Magistrates orders. Nothing of note was found," the shorter one spoke up.
I suppose security will be even tighter the next few days.
She thanked them and continued on, confidence bolstered. Fishing out her apartment key card, Rover stopped at her door, looking back at the distant figure of the guards down the pure, cream coloured hallway. She then leaned in and swiped her card, letting the door scan her eye for identification.
“Identification failed. Please present an alternate method of sign-in” the door’s security screen uttered stiffly.
Rover frowned. That had never happened before. Usually she’d be let in so easily. Maybe the security features had been updated because of Scar’s breakout.
Remembering what Sanhua had said about alternate security measures, Rover presented her hair, swiping her longer strands over one shoulder and pressing the stands to the screen, allowing them to be scanned. The door clicked open.
Stepping inside her familiar, and fairly bare-bones in décor apartment, she immediately sensed something amiss. The faint sound of water trickling.
If she were smarter, she would’ve instantly turned on her heel and alerted the guards in the hallway. She would’ve called someone, anyone to investigate.
But she wasn’t afraid, and therein lay the problem. Rover shifted her weight carefully, moving to press her back against the wall of her little hallway. Gradually slinking furthering into her apartment, she bypassed the living room, giving it a courtesy glance and finding nothing amiss. As she moved with all the grace of a jungle cat, her fingers wrapped around the hilt of her sword, sliding it gently free from its scabbard.
Her bathroom door was ajar. Steam curled out of it lazily. Rover’s eyes flashed.
You’ve got some nerve.
Undaunted, she pressed her fingers to the polished wood and pushed. Steam enveloped her immediately, a figure immediately appearing in her line of sight. He seemed to have purposefully neglected to use the shower curtain.
Scar’s hair was a splash of white and red strands in the haze, his lithe yet muscular build sharpening into focus the closer she moved. His back was turned to her, because of course it was. Out of arrogance or confidence she wouldn't play dirty perhaps. Broad shoulders shifted as he raised his arms, sweeping sharp nails through wet hair as he dipped his face back into the shower's gentle spray. She couldn’t help but notice how water droplets ran down the pale column of his neck, dipping down between his shoulder blades to rest at the base of his spine.
His ass was surprisingly cute, perky even. Rover scowled harder. She did not need to know that.
Looking past the well-toned muscle of her enemy however, the more obvious details of his body painted a picture of his life; that of painful, seemingly endless scars criss-crossing over one another in places, licking broad burns across his flesh. Old and new- the faded ones covered by fresher, angrier bruising pepping his ribs and flank.
Rover rested the cool metal of her blade against his neck from behind, shower water hitting it softly.
Scar shifted, his usual spiked hair slick and hugging his face. Mismatched eyes found her instantly. He brightened, grinning at her as though seeing each other in her apartment was the most natural thing in the world.
“Ah, welcome home!~”
He then fully turned to face her, delighted grin melting into a smile of pure satisfaction as her eyes widened in horror, flicking downwards just once- before mentally kicking herself and refocusing firmly on his laughing eyes.
“I must say, thoughts of you certainly kept me company during the past few weeks of confinement- but nothing compares to the real thing standing before you in the flesh, now does it?” he purred. Letting out a faint sigh that was almost lost in the fall of humid spray, Scar leaned affectionately into the side of her blade. “You’re a sight for sore eyes, my dear Rover.”

"You're hurt..."
The stench of blood, dirt, and sulfur filled the air in the underground hideout as you climbed off your bed, the heavy metal around your ankles rattling when you moved. You watched as the silver-haired man collided with the wall before sinking to the floor, his body sparely illuminated but his hair shining brightly, giving away his position. Your gut churned with hesitance, with the instinctive need to avoid all evil—especially the one that had threatened and abducted you. But it had been so long since he left. So long that you've been stowed away in secret. You were, unfortunately, drawn to him like a moth to the light.
Even though you kept your distance from your captor, your words barely a whisper as if not to disturb the man sitting on the ground, holding the side of his stomach, Calcharo flinched at the sound of your voice, cranking his head back to look at you. His gaze was unreadable, his whole face a mask free of emotions. But judging by the pool of blood collecting next to him, the wound must have hurt, even if he showed no signs of it.
"I promised I'd be back—" he mumbled as a ripple of tension tightened his muscles, everything in him readying his body to get up from his spot. As if greeting you properly was needed at that moment. But with his teeth bared, the gaping wound stole all of his strength, making him sack back to the dusty ground with a muffled groan.
"Give me a moment. It'll heal."
Curiosity killed the cat as you stretched your neck, bile rising to the top of your throat at the nasty sight of the gash. Even Calcharo's big hands—that you remembered so vividly squeezing and pulling at your body—weren't enough to cover the wound completely, blood soaking all of his clothes and staining the floor. Wasn't there medicine for that kind of injury? Although, seeing a doctor would probably be more appropriate. If it wasn't for the awkward situation you were in, you'd have freaked out at even the thought of seeing someone so badly injured, yet all you could do was stand in one spot, a good five steps out of his reach.
Even when you fiddled with your hands, wrenching and holding them, you were less anxious, knowing he wasn't in the condition to harass you that day. He'd been gone for a while, leaving you to your own devices and the evergrowing boredom. But you were still undecided if you preferred him being back and constantly hovering over you, watching and testing your reactions, or the loneliness and isolation you experienced, chained up and hidden away who-knew-where when he was gone. Both were unideal; both were destructive behavior on his part. You didn't have much choice in it, but him coming back severely injured was a situation you hadn't grown accustomed to yet.
"Is there anything I can do to help?"
His head jerked upwards, eyes narrowing at you suspiciously. Yeah... you surprised yourself, too. You weren't the type to offer help, especially not to him. You were his captive, nothing more, nothing less.
"Or not..." Hands falling to your side, you fiddled with the seam of your shirt instead, avoiding his gaze as always. To Calcharo, you were an object to be observed, one he owned now but still couldn't help but expect to be betrayed by. As if you were going to pull a knife out any second now and stab him, even after he immobilized you with the chains around your legs. He was that kind of man; that much you had learned about him, even if it barely seemed to graze the surface. You began hating the feeling of his eyes on you the moment he revealed himself to you in this shabby hideout, his gaze so incisive it hurt. As if his eyes were daggers that he dragged through your flesh, stabbing over and over in an attempt to rip out your soul for him to observe.
"There are some bandages behind the mirror in the bathroom."
Torn from your thoughts, you couldn't help but stare back at him, even as his head fell forward again, his gaze disappearing. You two didn't have that kind of relationship. You didn't help him when he was in need, so you felt surprised at the simple instructions. They held no weight as if he didn't care whether you followed them or not—as if he expected you not to, rightfully so. Glancing at the blood, you thought that a bandage might be useless, that he needed stitches at least. But Calcharo said nothing more, pressing his palm harder against the wound without making another sound. Your head turned towards the door leading to the bathroom, and although it felt wrong to consider helping him, a compassionate part of you recognized that he needed you, your feet slowly turning away, picking up the pace as you disappeared from his sight.
The mirror caught your reflection as you flicked on the light. You had seen better days that much was sure. You weren't famished, the bags under your eyes more from anxiety and stress than lack of sleep. However, the green glow of the light didn't do you any favors either, and although you didn't think of yourself as ugly, you could only wonder what your kidnapper saw in you that he had to take such drastic measures. You were just you. That seemed to have been enough for him, even if it was strange.
The chain around your ankle felt twice as heavy as you wondered how long you'd be in this situation. Would you ever be free? Would he let you go if you helped him? Calcharo had always been silent when you asked him for his reasons. He'd sit by your bedside and wipe away your tears if you cried, begging him to be reasonable, but he never gave you the answers to console you. That was the kind of man you had offered help to. Someone so cold and selfish.
Opening the cabinet, you realized you had never looked behind the mirror before. Why? you wondered, but you were surprised at the amount of medical equipment. There were a couple of first aid kits and a box of resonator-only medicine and tools. He had every shelf stocked fully, and although he only asked for a bandage, you took at least one of everything you could find.
Calcharo was eerily quiet when you returned to his side. It made your pulse rise momentarily as you feared he might have died in the minute you were gone. The chain you were strung to clattered as you ran over, dropping to your knees next to his, dropping some of the extra weight from your arms to the floor in a moment of panic. You realized your closeness too late, anxiety shivering down your spine with how little distance there was between you two. But your focus shifted instantly, relief filling you as Calcharo looked up at you again, his eyes dropping to the items crammed between your arms and body. He scanned over your haul, and you immediately felt silly for worrying about him at all. He was perfectly fine, it seemed.
But what would you have done if he died?
You didn't know how to get out of here in the first place. Calcharo had never shown you any keys to undo your chains or to open any doors. There were no windows, and if you got out, there was no guarantee you wouldn't be in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by Tacet Discords going for your throat. These thoughts made your heart sink with a sense of panic as if reality was finally hitting you over your head. Or perhaps it was the thought of living with a corpse until you found your demise here as well. Either way, you were glad when he reached for one of the packages, revealing some round pills that he slipped between his lips, glancing up at you for a moment as if to make sure you were watching him swallow them. You fiddled with the medical utensils until you found another package, wanting to give it to him, but he shook his head as you held it out.
"Just use the bandage."
"You want me to do it?" you asked, reluctant to simply act. Glancing at the first aid kit, you were sure you'd find some there, but so far, Calcharo had always handled himself around you. Even when you had an outburst, trying to hit him, he'd let you slap him across the face rather than stop you. You'd half-expected him to retaliate when you stumbled back, recognizing his strength as superior and bracing for the impact, but it never came. He had always remained calm and composed, even with the glowing red hand-mark across his cheek.
It was the same with food or bathing. Calcharo always had enough rations stocked, and if he was back at the hideout, he made you meals all the time, only eating your leftovers or getting something for himself after you had your share. And he never took a shower first, ensuring you had all the warm water that would eventually turn cold (sometimes you let it run out of protest). You thought it might have simply been resourcefulness, but you began overthinking your beliefs now that he wanted you to do something for him.
"Are you sure?" you asked him again. There was a sense of exhaustion when he looked up at you, and much to your own surprise once more, you quickly snatched the first aid kit when he reached for it. "I can do it! Just didn't think you'd want me to..."
Calcharo let out a short grunt before lowering his arm again, not fighting you on this, but his eyes followed every one of your movements as you fiddled with the first aid kit. Ridden with sudden determination, you almost dropped all the contents on the undoubtedly nonsterile floor, only catching the bandage midair while some of the tools clattered to the ground. Quick as lightning, Calcharo caught a small pair of scissors before they could graze your leg, his bloody fist wrapping around it so tightly, you could see his knuckles whiten through the red sheen.
You gulped, watching him drag the scissors and his arm back to his side, too afraid to straighten your gaze and see the wound in full glory. When you agreed that you could do it, you had temporarily forgotten about the truly gut-wrenching part of medical treatment, and suddenly, you were even less sure about all of this.
Calcharo grumbled under his breath, noticing your sudden stiffness. His free hand reached out to touch yours. "Open it," he muttered, and his words put your body into motion. Following his instructions was so much easier than working through the thoughts that made you hesitate. He grabbed the start of the bandage from your hands once you unwrapped it, waiting for you to get onto what he was doing as he placed it over his naval before pressing it down onto the wound.
There was some visible comfort in the way his shoulders rose tensely as he covered the wound, but he dragged the now bloody bandage over the gash with skilled precision. As if he had done this countless of times, and you were almost certain he had. You reckoned that his life must not have been easy if he got so used to hurting himself for the sake of simply healing. But you quickly reminded yourself not to sympathize with him. To not forget how he wronged you despite this moment of unusual humanity. Usually, he appeared to you more like a monster, but right then, he was but a wounded soldier, and perhaps your parents had been right; you were too good-hearted for your own good.
Dragging the bandage to his side, Calchero stopped, huffing as you had stopped unwrapping more of it. He pulled his legs in so he could push his torso off the wall before he looked up at you. Gulping, you knew what you had to do. It wasn't like he wouldn't do it himself, but it was honestly ridiculous that you sat there frozen in place now that you had come so far. Inching closer, you positioned yourself between his legs, hesitating for a split second more before you reached out your arms, wrapping them around his front to reach behind Calcharo.
Carefully, perhaps with less pressure than he would have liked, you wrapped and pulled the bandage from his back to his front again. Calchero released it once he noticed you taking action, but when you reached the blood-soaked gash again, it was his hand that did the dirty work, pressing the bandage down. There was about one more round that you could make, and you quickly guided the wrap around him once more before making an amateurish knot on his healthy side. It was far from perfect, and you tried to ignore the feeling of his blood coating your hands now, too. It didn't feel like you helped him, but it was what he had wanted.
Placing your hands on the ground, you wanted to get up again, get some healthy distance between you two, and clean your hands if you got the chance. But before you could even slip one leg out from underneath you, Calchero's whole body suddenly collapsed forward. In a spurt of a moment reaction, you grabbed him by the shoulders, pushing your own between his collarbones to brace against his weight that could have easily buried you underneath it.
"H-Hey!" you called out, unsure what was happening, when you suddenly felt him inhale deeply, his hot breath releasing against your chest, sending shivers down your spine. And then, he chuckled.
"I didn't think you would."
His voice vibrated against your skin as he spoke them directly into your body. You didn't know what to say nor what he meant, but you felt the goosebumps rise across your arms and neck.
Calchero lifted himself just enough to nuzzle his face between your neck and shoulder, his weight so heavy as it rested on top of you. All you could do was curl your fingers into his body, and you cursed yourself for not immediately pushing him away, a small part of you afraid you might agitate the wound.
"Didn't think you'd care about me."
"I don't," you clarified, sounding pouty rather than confident. It had been a mistake, after all. You should have just let him sort out his own mess and stop being a busybody and help. Then, you wouldn't be in this situation now, your pulse throbbing in your ears as your heart began to beat faster with the anxiety and discomfort.
"I'm glad," he muttered. "Glad you care."
"I don't!"
This time, you did push. At least you tried. Calcharo didn't move an inch away from you, his head resting on your shoulder, his body threatening to bury you underneath if you didn't stay solid in your spot. The thought of Calcharo trapping you on purpose crossed your mind, and you hated yourself for not seeing it coming, walking right into the trap. And even if not, he was clearly exploiting the situation for all it was worth!
Of course, he'd take advantage of your kindness. Of course, he'd use your naivety and kindness to exploit you for something he wanted. Even if you questioned why it had to be you, why he kidnapped you of all people, his intentions—albeit disciplined—had always been clear. Although he held himself back from doing something regrettable so far, you had caught him touching you often: touching your hand while passing you a plate with food, brushing away hair from your face right after waking up, and letting his fingers glide over your arms or legs while you had dozed off, just to name a few. You should have been more careful. Should have listened to your body telling you to stay away. It might have just been something akin to a hug, but you should have never allowed him to go this far.
What if he took your kindness for consent?
"Please stop," you mumbled, feeling the tears shoot into your eyes. You didn't need to turn your head to know his eyes had opened, probably after hearing the sob in your voice. You wished you were stronger, able to push him away. Wished you could have fought him and caused him to stop liking you—wanting you. Wished you never even thought of him as anything but a monster.
"Just a little bit longer," he mumbled, lips brushing against your skin. Even when hiccups shook your body, Calchero didn't move, didn't budge. It seemed he didn't care anymore, getting exactly what he wanted. All you could do was sit there and wait for it to end, just like always. You felt his gaze vanish, the closeness allowing him to observe you differently, without needing to see when he could instead feel you.
His arms wrapped around your body, and you felt more trapped than ever, the feeling only registering when he said two more words that day,
"Thank you."

You had already prepared everything, the cake was already set at the table, little strawberries decorating it. It had been a few days since you had last seen Jiyan, so of course you thought that adding a little... spice would help both of you relax a little. Just a few drops of the aphrodisiac were supposed to be added to the strawberries, but you had decided to add just a tiny bit more, enough to create some kind of reaction from him, you supposed.
A few minutes passed until Jiyan finally opened the door, his hair down, making him look even more handsome. As soon as he saw you his lips curved into a smile, looking as a happy puppy running to your arms. He swiftly lifted you, making you twirl a little until he let you down, his lips giving you a soft kiss on your forehead.
"Dear, you don't know how much I've missed you, the work as been exhausting because of the lack of employees." While he kept talking about his work, you you broke a piece of the cake, serving it to him while you took a little bite from the frosting. His eyes shined, happy from getting to eat his favourite cake just as he arrived home. His plate was cleared soon, not leaving even a single crumb. Your hands were sweating a little, was the dose too little for him?
Your question was answered just a few minutes ago, his eyes were flaring, his breath heavy and hot, making you feel just a bit intimidated. Jiyan quickly raised from his seat, taking one of the strawberries and shoving it down your mouth.
"Dear, you really thought I would be unable to tell? God, the cake was reeking with the smell of the aphrodisiac, were you that desperate for me? Couldn't handle a few days without my cock shoved deep into your sweet cunt?" His words were foul, somewhat making your cunt a bit too wet for the situation given. Without letting you reply, Jiyan's hands were lifting you, walking to your bedroom as fast as possible and letting you lay there. His hands caressed your skin, your sweet scent filling the room and mixing with the scent of the herbs he always carried. "Sweet girl, trying to play with a much more experienced man..." While he taunted you with his words, his hands were already over your body, losing no time on undressing you and throwing your clothes to the floor. He had already taken off his own clothes, finally being able to see his chiseled muscles, making your mouth drool as you saw his cock, standing proud, tip slightly reddened. He got on his knees, moving you to the end of the bed, your pretty pussy being presented to him, while his fingers were already toying with it, playing with your sensitive clit with his rough fingertips while entering you with his other hand. Even despite how much shame you felt, you were only able to pull from his hair as a sorry attempt of getting him just a bit far from you. Of course, despite your efforts, his mouth got even closer, using his tongue to prepare your little slit, while he kept playing with your clit, not stopping even after making you cum all over his mouth, your hands almost giving out as he didn't even budge a bit.
It took several minutes (and at least three orgasms) for him to leave your sorry cunt, clit all reddened and puffy from the overstimulation. He got up, lifting you in between his arm and sitting you on his lap, slowly entering you, your nails digging on his back. "Too big... it won't fit..." Your sweet cunt squeezing him just right, Jiyan trying his best not to shove it in with a single trust. "It won't fit..." Jiyan smiled, his hands squeezing your waist as he kept inserting his dick in your pussy, your eyes starting to water as the stretch began to sting.
"Stay put, dear, I swear it won't feel as painful, just give it a few minutes." Jiyan caressed your hair while peppering your pretty face with his kisses, trying to distract you of how he was slowly inserting his whole length inside you. He stayed there, the tip of his dick being far too close to your cervix, making you whine each time he moved a bit and hit that place with his tip. Little by little, his hips started to move, letting you cling to him while your teeth pierced his shoulder, sometimes kissing your pretty lips in a nasty way, your saliva falling to your chin as his kiss left you a bit light-headed.
As time went on, his movements got rougher, eyes rolling to the back of your skull, lips parting as you were unable to stop moaning from the overstimulation. Jiyan's eyes were glistening, happy to see his pretty wife all dumb on his cock, unable to do anything but take it. "You're so pretty baby, all pretty over my dick, you're gonna be such a good mommy, I'm gonna be the best daddy... treat both of you so good, let me make you a mommy dear..." His hips started to move faster, his dick starting to twitch inside you, your mind being completely melted, only being able to nod to his pleas as his cock ramaged your insides, tears falling down your cheeks. You were able to kiss him, his cum filling your tummy while you digged your nails on his back, thanking him between blurbs for making you a mommy.

Scar already knew just as he entered the room, your expression was a bit too calmed, while your body was as stiff as a board. You quickly raised from your seat, approaching him with a nervous expression as you tried to give him some "special recipe" you had found in the Internet. Despite that, he accepted gracefully, taking the little cookie with the shape of a heart, how could he deny you when your eyes were sparkling with anticipation? Your eyes were fixated on his expression, perhaps searching for any type of hint that the aphrodisiac was working, although you gave up soon after you realized that the recipe you had found was probably just a prank of some person with a lot of time. You were about to sit down when Scar's hands gripped your wrists, almost with a bit too much strength, causing you to quickly turn over" What the--?" Before you were able to say anything, his lips were already against yours, devouring you as if you were one of the best plates in the world, leaving you breathless as he separated for a moment.
"God, I didn't know you were so naughty, playing with aphrodisiacs and stuff... are you trying to make me fall in love even harder?" His expression showing just how much excited was he with this new way of "playing". "If I had known you were that feisty I would have done this way sooner." He chuckled, taking your face between his hands and giving you a sloppy kiss, while his leg got in between your thighs, grinding shamelessly against your clothed cunt, your head began spin a bit due to the stimulation.
"Get on your knees, I've got something for well-behaved girls." You did as you were told, your knees falling to the carpeted floor while he unzipped his pants, his cock springing out of his underwear. He took it with one hand, getting it closer to your soft lips and rubbing his tip against them, making your thighs rub in anticipation. "Someone seems eager to start, uh? Pretty little slut who gets wet just from sucking my cock." As he said that, he slowly introduced it into your mouth, the warm cavity making him lose his mind even more. The rhythm started to pace up, almost making you choke on it as he hit the back of your throat with his tip, he didn't even flinch when you started to feel as if you were choking all over his cock, it wasn't until tears were streaming down your cheeks that he finally let you go, a small string of saliva connecting his cock to your mouth. Without giving you a moment to breath, he helped you get up, swiftly undressing you in the middle of the house hall, your whole naked body being displayed. Scar smiled, playing with your pretty tits while he made fun of your flushed cheeks: "You're as red as a cherry, but you weren't that bashful when you decided to play me a little prank uh? You're only shy when you don't think with your cunt?" Scar kept taunting you, making fun of how you moaned at the tiniest touch of his hands, his lips leaving wet kisses all through your neck and chest. Several minutes had passed until he decided to end the foreplay, your cunt extremely sensitive because of his constant mocking while his fingers were playing with your clit, the other hand playing with one of your nipples. He smiled, taking his cock with one of his hands and slowly inserting it, his other hand keeping your face still so you could see yourself in the mirror. "Damn, can you see that? You're squeezing me like crazy, did you want my cock that fucking bad? Look how you're taking me in, sure you don't want to become mine? I'll keep you full all days, baby." He kept whispering those nasty taunts while his hips slammed against your ass, his tip hitting your cervix and making you lose the strength on your legs. As soon as he noticed that, he took each of your legs in his arms, lifting you with ease and allowing you to see your cunt being filled with his cock.
"This position is much better , uh? I can see all the good stuff from here, you look so pretty being fucked dumb on my cock." He smiled, moving your body up and down as if you were some fleshlight, your saliva falling down your chin as you were unable to shallow it. It took him just a few more thrusts against your sorry cunt until your brain was completely melted, your mouth blabbering some sorry excuses like "I'm sowwy! Please don't be so rough! My pussy is breaking!" Despite your pleas, Scar's trusts only increased, not slowing down even if you had already cummed all over his cock, faded rings forming all over his shaft.
When he suddenly stopped, you were almost imagining your sweet bed, but your fantasies were completely crushed the moment you noticed how he was simply changing positions, his expression looking as wicked as always, a dark glistening on his eyes as he saw your sorry face with tears running down your face and your drool falling from your chin. "You look the cutest when you're pathetic, you know?"

A hug for a precious teammate
Tumblr media
A hug for a precious teammate
malereader x Jiyan, fluff;
i already have an idea for a longer post ("normal" 4 my acc) but for now just a quick short. Jiyan can be a little out of character
Tumblr media
He stood alone in the middle of a field, surrounded by emortia flowers. His green robes blew gently on the wind. With his back turned to you, he looked into a distance. Onto a horizon where an outline of Jinzhou city painted itself.
You approached him at a distance of few steps.
-I knew I would find you here.
Hearing your voice, chills went through Jiyan. But not the unpleasant ones, rather those of excitement.
He turned his head back, looking at you over his shoulder. Warm rays of setting sun gushed on both sides of his face, trying to escape past his figure. As a result, his face shimmered with a bright, yellowish glow of light. Messy strands of his hair (which, as always, managed to break out from not-so-perfect ponytail) flew in all directions. His facial expression represented surprise. You saw him taking a sudden gasp of breath after a spin. Yet, at sight of you, corners of his lips lifted slightly upward.
Even though an image in front of you was breathtaking, you put your focus on his eyes. They showed so many emotions. Sadness, grief, suffering. But also some sort of gratitude and relief.
A desire for touch, for warmth of another person.
You involuntarily spread your arms in an inviting gesture. And Jiyan instantly spun on his heel.
It took just a seconds. Jiyan immediately seized an opportunity. He ran into your embrace.
Before you had time to realize, your body was being squeezed tightly by a man's strong arms.
You looked down. Jiyan was stubbornly snuggling his head into your chest, avoiding eye contact.
-I'm sorry. I should be there with you.
You said with a genuine remorse. Now you deeply regretted not accompanying him today.
You knew that returning to the past by experiencing Riverside Games could be painful for your man. However, you hoped that if you let him go alone, he wouldn't be limited to only your company. And that he might be able to reintegrate with other rangers. On a different level -not only restricted to work and duties. Besides, this wasn't your festival.
That's why you decided to go to work.
However, after that decision, for a few good hours, you suffered with great guilt. You couldn't concentrate on your job. Especially after you found out that the festival got suspended. You were unable to complete any task properly. You were basically useless. To the point where your supervisor - Mortefi ordered you to leave.
Jiyan rapidly shook his head in denial. He didn't loosen his grip even slightly. You were slowly running out of breath. But you knew it was the only thing you could do for him at that moment.
-I planted a seed - he said quietly, slowly choosing his words - With Rover
-But I want to plant one with you as well - he added quickly, this time lifting his face up and looking directly into your eyes.
His golden orbs sparkled slightly with hope. Somehow like with an anticipation of approval.
-I know I know -you changed your voice to as calm and tenderful as possible- We are gonna do this
You placed your hands gently on his back and slowly began to make a circles on them. Trying as much as possible to soothe his nerves after today's events.
Jiyan dropped his head again and tightened his grip more. Even though, a second before you hardly believed that it was possible.
However, that gesture did awaken you. You looked around. And your eyes caught a glimpse of midnight rangers. Standing in the distance, guarding Knell Square. They weren't looking in your direction, not paying attention to you at all. Whether out of respect or ignorance.
But still, if this were to change, you had to do something.
Jiyan wouldn't want anyone to see him in such state. Especially his subordinates, to whom, as a general, he looked like a pure perfection. An example of someone unbreakable and with an unbelievable courage.
You were the first and last one to whom he deliberately showed his vulnerable side.
It wasn't often, because he mostly tried to play tough. Even outside of work, he felt a sense of responsibility. Though in this case, for the two of you. For your prosperity and well-being.
That just how his character was.
Sometimes, however, emotions took over him. Just like now. And Jiyan allowed himself to seek for a support in your presence.
With your right hand, you delicately grabbed his jaw and lifted his head up. His eyes were no longer glowing with ordinary sparkle. Shine came from a liquid that had accumulated inside them. Tears that he struggled hard to not let out.
-But we will get home first, okay?
Jiyan nodded and you leaned down to lovingly kiss his other cheek.
-Let's go - you said, moving away from him slightly and secondly putting one arm around his waist.
Jiyan tiredly laid his head on your shoulder and let you lead the way to your house. To your safe space.

Flowers In Bloom
(Jiyan x Reader)
Wuthering Waves
Spoilers for Jiyan’s story quest.
(Some of this may be inaccurate, I’ll get better at figuring out his character as time goes on so bare with me for now)
Tumblr media
The city of Jinzhou was never described as a quiet place, in fact many believed it to be quite the opposite. People were constantly around, tending to others, doing their jobs, or even just hanging out with friends. There was always something happening in Jinzhou.
So much so that at some points, the life of such a busy city could get pretty stifling. The feeling that one must always be going somewhere and doing something, it got in the way of remembering to relax. So that’s why you had always set out to take a moment to relax amongst the flowers near the Square Bell.
It was quite a solemn area, as it was there to honour those who had fallen in battle, but the respect for the area made it all the more peaceful. On one of your many trips to this area, you had noticed a plot of plants that you couldn’t identify. They looked to be like wheat or lavender, but it was clearly not one or the other.
You decided to pay it no mind as you continued your visits until you saw the sprout of one forming. It didn’t seem like it had been watered that day, so you decided to go out of your way and water it yourself. It felt nice, almost as if you were somehow helping tend to the fallen soldiers of the area… but you didn’t know why.
From then on it just simply became a habit. Any time you’d visit you’d water the ones that seemed like the needed to be watered and sit amongst the plants to watch the sunset. That was until one day you went to do your usual visit and you saw a man who you hadn’t seen before, admiring them as he stood on the pavement in front of the bell.
You bit your lip, wondering if you should say something to him. Maybe he knew more about the flowers than you did.
“They’re lovely, aren’t they?” You asked as you walked up to the man. He didn’t react physically but it was clear he had been a bit startled by your appearance before he relaxed.
“They are.” He responded, his expression softening the slightest bit as he looked over to you. His eyes traveled down to the water pail you held in your hands which caused a small smile to appear on his face; so small one would hardly even notice it if they weren’t looking for it.
You couldn’t help but stare at the man for a moment. He looked familiar but you couldn’t quite place exactly where you had seen him from, if at all. His clothing was no where near casual, and he seemed to be wearing pieces of armour, so no doubt he was helping fight.
Your eyes slowly made their way to his face. His eyes, while a beautiful golden colour, held a very far away look as if he was lost deep in the trenches of his own mind. His hair was a teal colour, which wasn’t exactly unusual but it was styled in a way you almost thought to be odd, but it looked good though so you weren’t complaining. As you continued to quickly look over the man, he snapped back out of his thoughts and turned back to you fully.
“Do you often come here to take care of the plants?” He asked, gesturing to the water pail in your hand. His words managed to snap you out of your thoughts as well as you looked down at your own hands, having forgotten you were even holding something to begin with.
“Oh! Yes, yes I do.” You exclaimed, trying to cover up the fact that you hadn’t been entirely paying attention. It was clear the man knew but he paid no mind to it.
“I saw a sprout that needed watering one day and decided to help out. I don’t even know how long ago that was at this point.” You thought to yourself, you had been doing this for a few months, maybe a little more.
“I was wondering how they were getting replenished so often. I must thank you for your commitment.” He said, looking away for a moment to survey the area, taking in the peace and quiet that the spot had to offer before turning back to you.
“So… I assume you come here a lot as well?” You asked, trying to strike up a conversation with the mysterious man. Had you seen him fully before you spoke to him, you might’ve been too scared to say anything. He looked to be such a strict and intimidating man and yet the feelings that surrounded him as you spoke were nothing but relaxed and gentle.
“When I have time.” He answered with a nod, gesturing for you to stand more beside him. You obliged and stood next to him, now looking over the city and the plants that swayed gently in the wind before the two of you.
“I take it you have friends who have fallen then, unless I am assuming too much.” You said, hoping your assumption wasn’t offensive in some way. The last thing you wanted was to anger this man, do a wave of nerves smacked you in the face while you waited for his reply. A melancholy look washed over the man’s face.
However, despite his saddened look, his smile remained on his face as he noticed your sudden change in demeanour. The question didn’t offend him by any means, so it was a little funny to him to see you back track as if it did.
“You are correct. In fact I’ve known many people who have ended up here, that’s why I planted these.” He said, turning his attention to the plants.
“I planted them in the hopes that if there is an afterlife, those who have fallen can look in at Jinzhou with these plants.” He explained, his gaze shifting to look up at the city that, like always, never seemed to rest for long. You looked over to him in surprise. Not only did he plant them but you also pieces together that he without a doubt had been fighting alongside a handful of these people.
“That’s a beautiful sentiment.” You responded, also looking back at the city, “I’m sure they enjoy the view.” You continued, a smile making its way onto your own face as you looked over at the sun. It had been a lot later in the day than you initially realized.
“While the plants are made to be resilient, I’m sure they appreciated your constant care.” The man mentioned, that same small smile having yet to leave his face. Despite his intimidating nature he seemed to be quite a nice man.
“I’m glad to have been of some help to them.” You responded quietly.
“Are you from Jinzhou ?” You asked, you might as well considering he didn’t seem to mind your conversation.
“I have moved around to many places as I grew up, but Jinzhou is where I seem to always come back to,” He answered in a more wistful manner before continuing. “Although it has been some time since I’ve been back, so I’m not sure what has changed exactly.”
You perked up at this as you looked over to him, your interest very clear on your face which caused the man a slight bit of confusion.
“So you haven’t been to the new restaurant that opened up?” You questioned. You were referring to a smaller business that not many people frequented given the fact that it had yet to gain the beloved reputation that the surrounding places had. However, you had gone one day to try it and loved it ever since.
The man shook his head, meeting your gaze with confusion as you seemed to become only more enthusiastic.
“We should go some time, I could show you where it is. I’m not sure exactly what your taste in food is, but I’m sure you’ll love it. They make a killer Jinzhou stew.” You claimed eagerly which quickly gained the interest of the man before you.
“It wouldn’t hurt to try, maybe we could go tomorrow… If you’re free that is.” He asked, almost hesitating through his sentence as he went through it. You simply smiled, your excitement having yet to die down before you nodded.
“That sounds like a great idea. We could meet here at the same time to make it easy.” You offered to which he nodded in return. You hadn’t really noticed but his smile had grown since your initial offer. It wasn’t exactly rare for him to smile, but it certainly wasn’t an expression he had all the time.
He looked to you before he looked up at the sky, realizing that the sun had long since set and the night sky was becoming more visible.
“I should get going, but I will see you here tomorrow, right?” He asked before beginning to walk off.
You nodded gleefully, excited to show off your favorite place to someone, not even realizing what had just happened. As the man turned away from you to walk off you looked over him again. The teal colours, the dragon scaled armour, the fact he’s been fighting for a time period you couldn’t even begin to imagine.
It finally hit you.
“That was General Jiyan…” You muttered absentmindedly, simply staring at the man as you finally pieces together who he was. This entire time you had been speaking with him so casually and yet he was the very well respected general that everyone and their mother has heard about.
And then the rest of the conversation finally caught up with you as well.
“And I just asked him on a date.” You muttered, completely lost as to how you managed to go this long without it clicking.
What you hadn’t realized though was that your revealation had been heard by the man himself, earning a stifled chuckle from him as he walked off.

Could I request Jiyan's s/o taking ng care of him while he's sick?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A/n: Sorry for waiting so long on this, I'm slowly making my way through the request now. I hope you enjoy this! <3
Contents: Jiyan x gn reader, Jiyan is called husband(hehe), sweet nicknames from Jiyan to reader, fluff, grammar mistakes probably
Tumblr media
“My dear, I have told you time and time over-” A cough rippled through him, dry and scratching at his throat raw. Jiyan was rather adamant at getting his message across, however, and when the cough settled with you soothing up his back with your palm, he turned to you again “I don’t need pampering” he said, but his flushed face and sweaty forehead told another tale. One more true than he would tell it.
“You’ll sooner convince me the sky's neon yellow rather than that - although I’d hardly call it pampering, Jiyan” you told him briskly, fed up with this demeanor. Just this morning he had snuck out of bed to take care of himself, and were it not for his stumbling he might’ve gotten away with it. It was past breakfast now, and you had not only cooked for him the most rich broth you knew of, but you managed to break the feverish General into following your orders, although not without some remark from him. “Now sit back, I’m going to bring you something to cool you off with” this time your voice is softer, your eyes mellowing out as you reach out to tuck the stray hairs from his face, not missing the way he softly sighed. His golden eyes half lidded and heavy, tired to the bone, but all his bones knew was battle. You couldn’t fault him for trying to do it on his own nor for being so stubborn.
“Fine..” Jiyan replied with yet another heavy sigh that deflated his lungs, slumping his figure against the bedframe he rested against.  His heavy lids fell over his eyes, and when he next opened them you were dabbing his sweaty forehead with a cool washcloth. He must have dozed off, he thinks to himself, blinking languidly as his eyes drink in you like honey, too thick to be drunk swiftly, yet not lacking for sweetness.
“What is it?” you ask him as he keeps on staring, something heavy about his eyes bringing your attention to him, for a moment granting him that sweet treat of your gaze on his own. He takes a deep breath in and then exhales, his words failing him.
He doesn’t want to touch you either, as the fever filled him from his head down to the tips of his fingers, and any touch would mean to him as if he had cut you. He wets his lips with a quick dart of his tongue before he shakes his head, all his movement slow as if he weighs twice more than he did. “Nothing..”
You scoff at him, not taking his words seriously. “It seems as if the fever has gotten to you more than I thought. Has it eaten away at your brain?” you shake your head as you dip the cloth in the cold water besides you before sliding it across his cheek and down to his neck. At that he gave a hiss, the cold cloth a stark contrast to his burning skin. It sent his muscles stiffening and begging for the offending feeling to be removed, but Jiyan knew it was for the better as he grit his teeth through it.
Sighing after you removed the cloth from his neck and collarbone, you moved to cup his hands and bring them around the cloth, hoping the coolness of it will get to him and ease his fever. You’ve given him medicine plenty, food as well, drinks he would grow sick of even more if you insisted he drink anything, so you moved to these small things to help him.
“You’re doing too much, my love..” he rasps, looking at you as you help hold his hands around the cloth.
“I am not doing too much. I am taking care of my husband..” you told him, tone easy and undertones of affection hugging close, apparent to Jiyan’s ears. It made him chuckle, shaking his chest that felt as if it would cave in on him if he dared laugh more, but he laughed regardless in face of your attempts to not seem too dotting. Yet you failed enormously, showing your worry in the most quiet ways of being loud. Hovering over him, never being too far. It was amusing at least.
“Right.. is that what you’d call what you’ve been doing in the last hour or so? You’re acting as if I’ve escaped famine and I’m dying in your arms.. My love, I will be alright. I just need a long rest, that is all..” he tries to reason with you, to ease your worries if nothing else. He removes one hand from your hold and puts it over yours. It’s warm, radiating heat like a hearth nearby, your own hand seems nearly cold in comparison.
“Then how about you stop moving so much, just.. lay back, and go sleep. I’ll go fix you something for dinner”
“Beloved, I’ve eaten too much already, just half an hour ago you had me eat another plate of that broth, and it is not even 12 o’clock... But I’ll rest, alright?”
You sigh at him, a touch irritated but you appreciate his attempts to help you too in your worried stupor to help him. “Fine. But if I see you or hear you shuffling about, you’ll come to regret it. You’ll hate me more than this fever of yours” This time it is you cracking small smiles, although you turn your head and tilt your nose into the air, acting ignorant of the smile.
Jiyan smiles back, nodding his head. “I hear you loud and clear..” he responds, voice mellow even more.
“In the meantime.. I will go out and run an errand or two. Maybe stop by the market, bring you something sweeter than a broth to eat before you complain that you are tired of it”
Jiyan knows there is no stopping you now. If you decided to go pluck lemon grass from the top of the highest mountain, he knew he’d be helpless to stop you. “That sounds fine with me. But don’t stay too long in the sun, unless you want to lay in this sickbed next to me”
“I’ll be alright. The sun can’t get to me so easily. Now, you rest” reluctantly you peel your hands away from his grasp, leaving the washcloth between his fingers and you leave the bucket of cool water close by too, should he feel the need for it. You lean closer, and before he could reject it, although he lacked strength for it, you kissed his temple and stood upright. His eyes followed your movement, both grateful for the kiss and on the verge of scolding you.
“Sleep well, Jiyan. I’ll be back soon”

˖⁺ ・🔪⋆ ♡ 💌・ ⁺ ˖
You stare at the man who towered over you, your body was sprawled on your bed, the sheets in a state of disarray, your room was dark except for the soft moonlight that poured in from your window. Your hair and skin was wet, and you were in nothing but a towel as you had gotten out of the bath.
Fluffy locks of peppermint colored hair framed the man's face very well, his eyes, mismatched just like his hair, stared deep into her eyes with a nearly indescribable emotion.
His hands held your wrists, pulling your arms above your head, his weight nearly holding you down. His lips tugged to a smirk, "I got to say, you put up quite a fight, and a cute one at that but.."
"You're no match for me little lamb."
It was just the start of your second year at college at Jinzhou Academy. Your hands smoothened the creases of your uniform as you stood at the entrance of the main building. Numerous students walked by, some had different colored hair, others had scars or echos for pets or assistances, some were focused on their textbooks and school work.
"(name)!" A voice called you over, and you turned to greet your friend, Rover, who had a mop of black hair and enchanting gold eyes. They made their way towards you, "sorry I kept you waiting!" they apologized.
You shook your head with a smile, "it's alright Rover, what kept you busy?"
"Almost got into trouble with Scar.." The black haired student sighed in annoyance, your brows raised as your interest was piqued by the mere mention of the name, 'Scar.' He was one of the more famous delinquent or troublemaker at Jinzhou. That's all you knew, you were relatively quiet, bordering on introvert, and although you did have friends, you never made it a mission to seek more having been buried by your curriculum.
"I suggest you stay away from him." Rover grimaced, noticing your curious look. You quickly scoff "oh come on, I'm not stupid." you brushed their expressions off.
"Well, well, well" an unfamilliar voice was heard by you two, and you find another student, in a much more incomplete and messy uniform and a rather bloodied state, approach you. Specifically Rover.
The scarred face student wrapped an arm around your friend's shoulder, "how could you snitch on me Rover~! and I just thought we were warming up to each other!" he sighed playfully hurt.
You scanned his appearance, his tie was loose, merely hanging on his neck, the top buttons of his shirt wasn't buttoned, and instead of the blazer or vest, he opted for a striking red jacket/coat, His hair was messy yet looked so fluffy, with the colors of red and white. His eyes were mismatched, perhaps heterochromia? he had red and grey hair, complimenting and matching his hair.
"Get off me Scar!" Rover's words fell on deaf ears as Scar laughed. "Oh come on, you're just rubbing more salt on my wounds" Scar said, a hand on his chest "and after I made the offer for you to join us!"
"I don't want to join!"
You weren't paying attention, continuing to scan the male, he had gold earrings and black gloves, he also had a black bag around his chest, and you could see the numerous scars around his arms perhaps from hard labor or countless fights.
On his face was a large scar, but it seemed to only enhance his beauty, his hands were stained with almost dried up blood, some of it was smeared on his face.
Your brows furrowed, 'what is this feeling..?' you wondered, as you placed a hand on your chest, looking conflicted. Your cheeks were starting to get flushed and your heart was beating rapidly.
"Are you okay (name)?" Rover shrugged off Scar as they made their way to you, worried clear in their eyes. "Yeah, I'm fine." You reassured him as you still continued to look at Scar, who finally turned his attention towards you.
The smile on his face had widened, "and who's this little lamb?" Scar asked and feeling threatened, Rover put their arm in front of you, as if guarding you from the slowly approaching student.
Scar easily slapped Rover's hand away, he leaned towards you, enough for you to smell ashes and smoke. "your name?" he asked, his smile seemed to mellow into a more charismatic one, less of the manic one like before. It seemed more like a mask.
You gave him your name despite Rover's objections.
And seeing as how hopeless it was to stay, Rover took you away, you'd glance back as you walk, and your eyes would meet mismatched ones.
"It's a shame our short date had to come to an end." He pouted as you got farther and farther.
Whether or not he was serious, you didn't care to know. You find yourself focusing on your own feelings, researching at google, you find that the answer was that you simply fell for the scarred student.
You couldn't tell Rover however or seek guidance, they didn't seem to like scar and you didn't trust your other friends.
You could remember how you got to that point in the future.
It started with the little things.
It was your and a few of your classmates' designated cleaning day, but you find yourself alone in the classroom, your cleaning mates decided to play hooky yet again. You frowned but shook it off, there was nothing that could be done. You begun to push the chairs in the desk and erasing the blackboard. But the eraser was filled with chalk so you opened the windows and began hitting the eraser so the dust would fly off.
And then your eyes seemed to catch a peppermint haired boy, and you couldn't stop staring as he played soccer, he skillfully dribbled the ball pass his opponents and kicked it, scoring a point for his team.
leaning forward and eyes squinted to try and get a better look at him as he raised his shirt to wipe the sweat off his face, and then-
A gasp escaped your lips, jumping away from the window, as if sensing your stare, he turned to look at your direction, you started to sweat, some part of you hoped that he wasn't looking at or for you, but there was another part of you, a small and tempting voice, that spoke, making you think he was looking at you intentionally, like he knew you were there.
And so you continued on with your cleaning.
Your everyday routine started to change, adapt as you continued to increasingly seek out Scar. Not in a social or chatting way, but in a stalker type of seeking out.
Rover and your other friends could sense your change, but was unable to point out what changed specifically, and you learned to hide it.
The gallery of your phone was slowly filled with candid shots of the apple in your eyes. That one previously empty space in your cabinet was starting to get filled by trinkets and printed out photographs and sticky notes of your 'senpai', your love.
Trinkets such as used bottles or pens or handkerchief you stole from him while he wasn't in his classroom. Sticky notes that filled with compliments and notes about him.
Scar note #1: he doesn't like bitter food or overly sweet and fatty foods.
Scar note #5: he's a member of the sports club while also being in a gang or group named Fractsidus.
Scar note #7: he's having difficulties with science but excels in PE.
You got more bolder as you become more skilled in stalking him, you'd start to leave gifts or anonymous notes inside the drawer of his desk or bag whenever you could. Your gifts vary depending on your mood,
sometimes it was meticulously written notes for his science class, one you had to work hard to learn yourself and even have to ask Baizhi for help, other days you'd leave snacks or bottled drinks for him, food that you knew he liked.
once you were bold, and perhaps becoming more sick? perverted? horny? in love, you sent a pair of your underwear. used ones even, with a particular scent and a white patch.
And yet, your gifts garnered no outward reaction from Scar, at least, from what you could tell.
Even helping him clean or patch up his wounds, or directly communicating or interacting with him face to face, although he regarded you with playfulness or amusement, to you it didn't seem like he was interested in you at all.
But it did not deter you, it motivated you even, like a moth to a flame or perhaps Icarus and the sun. You knew he was dangerous or just bad for you, but it didn't stop you, you wanted him, and you were willing to do whatever it takes to have him.
The notes on your closet became more erratic and less cutesy, the handwriting deepened, almost ripping the paper.
My love <3
So handsome
I will have him.
MINE.
You find yourself investigating, procuring questionable materials like a stun gun and thick long rope. You begun to fall into a rabbit hole, and you began to slip in terms of cautiousness, but perhaps that will be for another oneshot~

And then you did it, you finally snapped as you heard that someone planned to confess to Scar. You grabbed a small bottle that had grinding up sleeping pills and headed to school. You finally decided you were going to get what you so desperately wanted.
. . .
You knew Scar's schedule well, and so you knew the perfect time to strike. Scar usually stayed at School very late at night, seemingly doing something on his laptop in the library. And so while he was away having went to the bathroom, you grabbed his bottle from the desk, opening it to hear a fresh pop and then you sedated it.
You left as quickly and as quietly as you came, hiding behind the numerous shelves of the library, you managed to peek through an opening, watching him return, behind his back you could see him reach for the bottle and.. he drank it.
And when he soon fell asleep, you took him away to your apartment. You closed his laptop quickly, putting it in his bag which you also brought to your apartment with you.
After maneuvering around the cameras and stuffing him unceremoniously in a guitar case which he surprisingly fitted in?? Scar was on your bed, and you were slightly out of breath, your hand reached to brush his locks away from his face "I'm sorry I had to put you in a guitar case" you softly apologized, "ah~" you leaned towards his face "you are so beautiful" your fingers would graze his scar, and then he stirred.
With wide eyes you quickly tied him up and tape his mouth, you began to stretch your arms, and mentally you decided to go take a bath.
As you get a towel and headed to the bathroom you closed the lights of the room and went out, quietly closing the door.
In the bathroom, you quickly stripped off all your clothes and after filling the bathtub with water, you dipped your toes and then entered the bathtub. You sighed in relief, praising yourself on a rather productive day.
Once you were done you got out of the bathtub and wrapped a towel around yourself, cursing as you remember you forgot to bring a change of clothes. And you walked back to your room, ignoring the wet puddle you tracked in the hallway.
Entering your bedroom you find that something was off but seeing him sleeping soundly on your bed you relaxed, you headed to your cabinet, maneuvering in your dark room to not bother your sleeping love.
As you were about to open your cabinet someone pulled you, and you find yourself in the present predicament.
back to the present
"You're no match for me little lamb."
You stared at him, a bit pale, cheeks flush at the intimate position you were in, your mouth was open but you were unable to express any words.
"Got nothing to say huh?" he laughed in amusement as his grip on your wrists loosened. "Did you think I was that careless to get kidnapped by you?" He questioned and you looked at him as the gears in your head started to turn.. "you let me?"
"Of course, you were such a devoted little lamb, I just had to reward you." He cooed, his other hand cupping your face and you purred, leaning into his warm touch.
"I see" you said softly and you find yourself relaxing, if he willingly let himself get kidnapped by you, then there was some mutual feelings or respect,, right?
Scar hummed, taking his hand away from your cheek causing you to pout, "now how should I reward you next? you did a lot for me after all, such a good little lamb." he said, his hand made its way to your neck, his fingers trailing down, leaving fire in its trail as your body began to feel hot.
You squirmed under him as he reached your collarbone, it taunted you, almost daring it to go further down and perhaps under your towel.
"What do you want?" he asked, there was something burning in his eyes, a look you were familiar with.
"You."
He laughed but didn't seem opposed or disgusted, if anything he seemed pleased, "Good, but if you want me, you have to give yourself to me in return." he told you.
"You already have me."
His eyes crinkled in some sort of twisted joy, and then it confirmed it. The look in his eyes was one of twisted love and obsession, one that mirrored your own, if not overpowering it.
That night was when you officially tied the knot of this twisted love.
He was yours, finally.
And finally (officially) you were his.

The door creaked open with a hesitant groan; its sound amplified in the dead silence of the house. Calcharo stepped inside, every movement deliberate, every step weighed with the exhaustion that clung to him like the grime and dried blood matted against his skin. The air was thick with the scent of sweat and iron, mingling with the faint aroma of alcohol wafting from the living room.
He paused, eyes adjusting to the dim lighting. Calcharo moved with practiced stealth, mindful not to disturb the peace. Yet, as he stepped into the living room, a sharp scent of alcohol pricked his senses, cutting through the familiar mustiness of home.
In the living room, he saw her—(Y/N). Her head was bowed, shoulders trembling with quiet sobs. A nearly empty bottle of wine lay cradled in her lap, her fingers gripping it like a lifeline. The sight pierced through Calcharo’ s hardened exterior. His heart clenched painfully at the sight. He had been supposed to return two days ago, but complications had delayed him. The mission had been brutal, and communication had been impossible. He knew she worried, but seeing her like this, shattered and vulnerable, was worse.
The sound of his footfall drew her attention. Her head snapped up, and the relief that washed over her face was instantaneous. "(Y/N)," he breathed, the single word heavy with unspoken apologies and unexpressed emotions.
For a heartbeat, she simply stared, as if ensuring he was real and not a figment of her desperate mind. Then, in an instant, she was on her feet, the bottle forgotten as it clattered to the floor. She crossed the space between them in a few quick strides, flinging herself into his arms with a force that nearly knocked the breath out of him.
"Oh, thank God," she murmured against his chest, her voice trembling. "I was so worried... I couldn't reach you... I feared the worst..." The grime and blood smeared onto her clothes, but she didn't seem to care. All that mattered was that he was here, alive.
Calcharo held her close, his arms encircling her with a gentleness that contrasted sharply with the brutality of his profession. He could feel her trembling, her body wracked with the remnants of her sobs. He rested his chin on top of her head, closing his eyes as he soaked in her presence. For a moment, he allowed himself to forget the bloodshed, the danger, and just be here, with her.
"I'm here," he murmured, his voice roughened by exhaustion. "I'm here, (Y/N)."
She pulled back just enough to look at him, her hands cupping his face. Her thumbs traced the lines of dirt and blood, her eyes scanning his features as if reassuring herself that he was truly there, in one piece.
"I thought I'd lost you," she whispered, her voice breaking. "Two days, Calcharo... I didn't know if you were ever coming back."
He could see the toll those two days had taken on her—dark circles under her eyes, her face pale and drawn. The weight of his absence was etched into every line of her expression.
"I'm sorry," he said, the words falling heavy and sincere. "The mission... it took longer than expected.”
(Y/N) nodded in understanding, her eyes softening with acceptance. "Have you eaten yet?" she asked.
Calcharo opened his mouth to respond, but she already knew the answer. "Of course, you haven't," she murmured, more to herself than to him. "I'll whip something up quickly. You should shower and get cleaned up in the meantime."
She always did this—pushing aside her own worries to care for him. She was a good woman, far too good for a man like him. He'd put her through situations like this too many times already, and every time, she was patient, loving, unwavering. He simply nodded, retreating to the shower to clean the grit off him while she headed to the kitchen.
The shower hissed to life, and as the hot water cascaded over him, he could smell her shampoo, her soap—those familiar, comforting scents that grounded him, reminding him that he was back home. He scrubbed the grime and blood off his skin, but he couldn't scrub away the memories, the guilt, the deeds he'd done. The water turned pink as it swirled down the drain, a cruel reminder that some stains never truly fade.
Patting himself dry, he slipped into a pair of pants and draped a towel over his shoulders. The mirror reflected a man weary beyond his years; his eyes shadowed with memories too dark to recount. With a heavy sigh, he left the bathroom, the comforting scent of her products still lingering on his skin. He couldn't delay any longer. He needed to check on (Y/N).
Walking into the kitchen, he found her standing by the stove, her hands moving deftly as she prepared a simple meal. Despite her woozy state from the alcohol, she was focused, determined to take care of him. Calcharo approached quietly, his presence announcing itself only when he was close enough to touch her. He took over the cooking process without a word, gently nudging her aside.
Her eyes traversed his form, widening as they fell upon a gnarly cut on his forearm. "Calcharo, you're hurt," she gasped, her voice tinged with a mixture of concern and reprimand. She clicked her tongue, rushing to get the medical kit.
"Let me see," she said, her tone shifting to the professional calm of a medic. (Y/N) was a former medic, and dealing with injuries was second nature to her. She laid out the supplies with a precision born of habit, her hands moving swiftly but with a tenderness that belied the severity of the wound.
Calcharo watched her work in silence, the ache in his chest deepening as he realized how much he relied on her strength, her compassion. She cleaned the wound methodically, her touch gentle yet firm.
"It's deep," she murmured, her voice tinged with concern as she applied antiseptic with careful precision. "You should have taken care of this sooner."
"I didn't notice," Calcharo replied quietly, his gaze fixed on her face. "I was... distracted."
She glanced up at him, her eyes searching his as if trying to read the depths of his soul. "I worry about you," she admitted softly, her fingers wrapping gauze around his arm to secure the dressing. "Every time you go out there..."
Calcharo’ s heart clenched at her words, the weight of her worry pressing down on him. He reached out, cupping her cheek gently with his clean hand, his thumb brushing over her cheekbone. "I know," he murmured, his voice raw with emotion. “I am sorry, love…”
She didn't protest. Instead, she leaned into his touch, her eyes closing briefly as if seeking solace in his warmth. For a moment, they simply stood there, bound together by unspoken words and shared experiences.
Calcharo knew. He knew in the depths of his soul that his profession, his life as the leader of the Ghost Hounds, was a poison seeping into (Y/N)'s veins. It wasn't just the worry etched on her face every time he left, nor the fear that gnawed at her when he returned battered and broken. By being with him, by loving him, she willingly walked a path fraught with danger. She put herself at risk, entwined her fate with his, despite the inevitable peril that shadowed his every step.
And yet, she didn't seem to mind. She stood beside him, unwavering in her support. She saw goodness in him where he saw only shadows. She believed in him, whispered words of reassurance that he was a good man, despite the blood on his hands and the darkness in his heart.
But Calcharo knew better. He had seen good men—General Jiyan, Mortefi—men with strong moral compasses who fought for justice and righteousness. They were the kind of men who did what was right, not just what was profitable. Unlike him.
As they cooked in silence, (Y/N) hummed a soft tune under her breath, a melody that spoke of innocence and hope. Calcharo couldn't help but contrast her purity with the darkness that clung to him. She was kind, selfless in a way he could never be. Since her arrival, many members of the Ghost Hounds relied on her medical expertise, freely given without any thought of profit. It was a stark contrast to his own dealings, where every transaction was a negotiation, every job a calculation of risk and reward.
The smell of alcohol lingered on her breath, a subtle reminder of her own struggles, her own ways of coping with the weight of their reality. Calcharo glanced at her, a pang of guilt tightening his chest. She deserved better than this life, than him. He wanted to protect her, shield her from the darkness that threatened to consume them both. But how could he, when he was the very embodiment of that darkness?
He finished preparing the meal mechanically, his movements precise but lacking his usual efficiency. Each chop of vegetables, each stir of the pot, felt like a ritual to stave off the inevitable conversation looming between them.
As they sat down to eat, she launched into stories about the Lawless Zone they inhabited, her voice animated despite the weariness that lined her features. Calcharo listened intently, his attention divided between her words and the weight of his own thoughts.
She spoke of the baker who had mastered the art of baking in makeshift ovens, of children who startled learning how to use grappling hooks to navigate the treacherous terrain. Her anecdotes painted a picture of resilience and adaptation in a place where survival was a daily battle. She found joy in the small victories of others, weaving tales that brought warmth to their otherwise harsh reality.
Calcharo ate in silence, marveling at how effortlessly she embraced life in the Lawless Zone. In this unforgiving environment where alliances shifted like sand in the wind, where trust was a luxury and betrayal a constant threat, (Y/N) saw good in everyone. It was a trait that set her apart, a reminder of the innocence she carried despite the injustice that had led her here.
But he knew the truth of her exile, the injustice that had ripped her from a life of healing and service. Some faceless bureaucrats in the New Federation had condemned her for a crime she didn't commit, tarnishing her reputation and casting her out. Yet, despite the bitterness that could have consumed her, she continued to trust, continued to give of herself without hesitation. The bitterness of the betrayal still lingered, a wound that hadn't fully healed. Yet, despite everything, she had found it in herself to trust again—to trust him.
As they cleaned up after dinner, (Y/N) moved to tidy the living room while Calcharo washed the dishes with a methodical precision. The clink of porcelain against porcelain echoed in the silence, a counterpoint to the tumultuous thoughts racing through his mind. He couldn't shake the feeling of unease that gnawed at him, she deserved peace, she deserved better.
When they finally retired for the night, exhaustion weighed heavily on Calcharo, but sleep eluded him. He lay in bed beside (Y/N), her head nestled against his chest, her breathing steady and peaceful. His mind replayed the events of the day—the worry in her eyes when she saw his injury, the tenderness of her touch as she tended to him, the way she effortlessly navigated their tumultuous existence with grace and compassion. She trusted him, believed in him, despite the darkness that tainted his soul.
But he knew the truth. He was a man haunted by his past, burdened by the choices he had made and the lives he had taken. (Y/N) deserved better than the life he could offer her—a life steeped in danger, where every day was a battle for survival. She deserved peace, safety, and the chance to heal from the wounds inflicted upon her. The weight of his own inadequacies pressed down on him; a suffocating presence that threatened to consume him whole. He closed his eyes, willing himself to find solace in (Y/N)'s embrace, in the warmth of her love. Yet, despite her comforting presence beside him, sleep remained elusive.
As the hours slipped by, Calcharo stared into the darkness, wrestling with his demons. He knew he had to protect her, shield her from the inevitable storm that was to come for him. Beside him, (Y/N) stirred in her sleep, a soft sigh escaping her lips. Calcharo tightened his embrace around her, his fingers tracing absent patterns on her back. He wished he could shield her from the nightmares that haunted him, from the harsh realities of their world. But he knew he couldn't.
As dawn painted the sky in soft hues of orange and pink, Calcharo lay awake beside (Y/N), his mind churning with resolve and sorrow. He knew what he needed to do, though he lacked the strength to follow through. The abyss stared back at him—a reminder of the darkness that had consumed him long ago. He had always known that staying in the kill-or-be-killed business was never the path to redemption. Despite numerous attempts to leave this life behind, each endeavor had failed. The Ghost Hounds relied on him, and so did the people of the Lawless Zone. They needed his leadership, his expertise in navigating the treacherous underworld they called home. He couldn't abandon them, not after everything he'd done, not after the lives he'd already taken, not after the lines he’d crossed and the enemies he’d made.
But she was different. (Y/N) deserved a life far removed from the danger and uncertainty that defined their existence. She deserved peace, safety—a chance to reclaim the innocence that had been unjustly stolen from her. There was no salvation for him, no redemption from the sins he had committed. But there was hope for her—hope in a future away from the Lawless Zone, away from him.
As the sun continued its ascent, casting long shadows across the room, Calcharo made his decision. He would hurt her one last time, knowing it would break her heart. But he had to do it—for her sake, because he knew she would never make that decision herself. Quietly, he disentangled himself from her embrace, careful not to disturb her peaceful slumber. He watched her for a moment, the curve of her cheek illuminated by the gentle morning light. She looked so serene in her sleep. Her chest rose and fell with her soft breaths.
With a heavy heart and a sense of grim determination, Calcharo quietly began packing his belongings. Each item he placed into his bag felt like another piece of himself being removed from their shared space. The room that once held their laughter and whispered confessions now echoed with the hollowness of impending separation.
He folded his clothes with methodical precision, placing them neatly into the duffel bag. His fingers lingered over small trinkets—a worn-out book she had gifted him, a bracelet she had made from scavenged materials—that held memories of happier times. Yet, these very memories weighed on him now, reminders of what he was about to do. Calcharo erased every trace of his presence in the house, wiping down surfaces, gathering stray belongings, and leaving the space eerily devoid of his essence. It was a painful process, akin to erasing a part of himself that had intertwined with hers over time. The ache in his chest grew with each passing moment, the reality of his decision settling heavily upon him.
Once everything was packed, he sat in the living room, waiting. The Ghost Hounds had swiftly removed his belongings from outside, leaving no visible trace of his imminent departure. He glanced at the door, knowing that soon she would awaken to a home that felt emptier, colder, without him. Hours passed like slow-moving shadows before (Y/N) stirred awake, her footsteps padding softly as she entered the living room, still half in the realm of dreams. She rubbed her eyes and yawned, a sleepy smile tugging at her lips as she greeted him with a murmured "Good morning."
Her smile faltered as she took in the expression on his face—the somber set of his jaw, the sadness that clouded his eyes. Concern knit her brows together as she approached, sensing something amiss in the air.
"Calcharo, what's going on?" she asked softly, her voice tinged with worry.
He gestured for her to take a seat beside him, his own features drawn with a mixture of resolve and sorrow. "I... I need to talk to you," he began, his voice rough with emotion. He paused, struggling to find the right words, knowing no syllable would make it easier.
(Y/N) sat down slowly, her eyes never leaving his face. Her concern deepened, a flicker of fear darting through her expression. "Calcharo, please," she implored softly, reaching out to touch his arm, seeking reassurance in the warmth of his skin. "You're scaring me. What's happened?"
Calcharo took a deep breath, steeling himself for the inevitable pain he would inflict. He met (Y/N)'s worried gaze, her touch still warm against his arm, and he knew he had to be resolute.
"I... We can't do this anymore," he began, his voice barely above a whisper. "It's not right for you to be with me."
(Y/N)'s eyes widened in disbelief, her grip tightening on his arm. "Calcharo, no," she protested, her voice trembling. "Please, don't do this. We can work through whatever it is. I love you.”
He shook his head, his own voice choked with emotion. "You deserve someone better than me," he insisted, his tone firm yet laced with pain. "Someone who can give you stability, peace... a life without constant fear and danger."
Tears welled in her eyes, threatening to spill over as she fought against his words. "But I don't want someone else," she pleaded, her voice breaking. "I want you. I can adapt, I can learn. I can handle it."
Calcharo’ s heart clenched at her words, his resolve faltering for a moment. He gently detached her hand from his arm, standing up with a heaviness in his chest. "I don't want you to handle it," he said softly, his voice tinged with anguish. "I can't bear to see you caught in the crossfire, (Y/N)."
She stood up too, desperation etched on her face as she reached out to him once more. "Please, Calcharo," she begged, her voice trembling. "Don't leave me… I am begging you. Please…”
He turned away, unable to meet her pleading gaze. "I love you," he admitted hoarsely, pain lacing every word. "But this love... it's hurting you. It's not fair to you."
Tears streamed down her cheeks as she took a step closer, her hands reaching out as if to hold onto him, to anchor him in place. "I don't care about fair," she whispered, her voice raw with emotion. "I care about us. About what we have."
Calcharo closed his eyes briefly, the ache in his chest unbearable. “You might want me, (Y/N) … but I am not what you need. You deserve a righteous person by your side who can protect your innocence and kindness. That is not me.”
She gasped softly, a sob escaping her as she stumbled backward, her hands covering her mouth in disbelief. "No," she choked out, her whole-body trembling with the weight of his words. "Please don't do this..."
Calcharo’ s own voice wavered as he took a step closer, his hand hovering in the air as if torn between reaching out to comfort her and knowing he had to leave. "I love you," he whispered hoarsely, his voice thick with unshed tears. "But this... this is the only way."
(Y/N) watched him, her entire being trembling with the weight of his words, with the finality of his decision. "Calcharo, please," she begged, her voice breaking as fell on the floor. "Don't leave me. I can't... I can't do this without you."
Calcharo stood before her, his heart breaking with every tear that streamed down her face. Every fiber of his being screamed at him to take her in his arms, to comfort her, to take back his words and pretend this moment never happened. But he knew he couldn't. Not for her sake. Not now.
"I've spoken to someone in Jinzhou," he said quietly, his voice trembling slightly. "They've arranged housing for you. It is safe there and you can start afresh. You… you need to leave the Lawless Zone.”
(Y/N)'s sobs grew louder, her shoulders shaking uncontrollably as she struggled to comprehend the magnitude of his words. "No," she cried out, her voice raw with anguish. "Please, Calcharo..."
Calcharo’ s heart shattered into a million pieces at her words, but he pressed on, knowing it was the only way to protect her. "My people will protect you until then," he continued, his voice cracking with emotion. "But this... this is the last you'll see of me."
She collapsed onto the floor, her body convulsing with grief. "No, no," she sobbed, her voice raw with agony. "I can't... I can't do this without you."
Calcharo closed his eyes against the pain, struggling to maintain his composure. "I hope you find somebody else," he whispered, his voice barely audible over her cries. "Someone who will love you like nobody else." His words hung heavy in the air, a bitter admission of his own shortcomings. "I hope he gives you something real, someone who can put your well-being first." he continued, his voice breaking. "And I wish nothing but the best for you."
He knelt beside her, his hand hovering over her trembling form, wanting to touch her, to soothe her, but holding back. "I'm sorry," he choked out, his voice thick with regret. "For all the pain, the hurt, the worry... I never wanted this for you. You’re the only person in this world that I cannot see get hurt because of my deeds." Her cries echoed in the room, reverberating off the walls as he apologized. "Thank you for welcoming me every time with an open heart."
He leaned forward, brushing a gentle kiss against her forehead, a silent farewell filled with a lifetime of love and regret. "Goodbye," he whispered hoarsely, his voice barely audible over her sobs.
With great effort, Calcharo stood up, his legs heavy as he turned away from her. Each step felt like a knife in his heart, tearing him apart as he walked toward the door. As he crossed the threshold, a single tear escaped his eye, and he quickly brushed it away, his face composed into its usual stoic mask.
He glanced back one last time, memorizing the sight of her curled on the floor, her heartache echoing in the empty room. It was the last time she would see him, but he promised himself he would always watch over her from afar, keeping her safe until she no longer needed his ghostly presence.
She would find someone to love her, he knew. She had so much love to give. And despite the ache in his own heart, he would be happy for her when that day came. Despite the agony that consumed him, Calcharo found a bitter solace in knowing that she would eventually smile again, even if it wasn't because of him. But for now, he bore the weight of their separation, the ache of leaving her behind. She would move on, and he would fade into memory. For her sake, he would bear the pain of being a ghost in her life, a memory of a love that was both profound and tragically unfulfilled.
And as he disappeared into the harsh sunlight of the Lawless Zone, he carried with him the weight of her sorrow and the echo of her cries, a haunting melody that would stay with him long after he had faded into the shadows.

Feeling of Pleasure
Pairing: Shorekeeper x F!Reader/F!Rover
Warnings: Smut, MDNI, 18+only, oral (Giving), fingering, virgin shorekeeper, cum eating (hehehehe), pet names. Toothrotting fluffy smut.
Word Count: 2,440
Dawn's notes: Y'all I love women.
Tumblr media
The day was slow and rainy, you had been locked in your room going over documents and information from all the Black Shores, mostly Alto and Encore, but you needed to study and take some time to be away from the hustle and bustle of your daily life fighting TDs.
A knock came to your door soft and gentle, the smell of flowers washed in through the cracks. You knew exactly who was at your door so you gave them no time to ask for entry. “Come in, Shorekeeper.”
In walked the beautiful woman who was always in your dreams, tempting you to experience everything with her. Her pale skin had a hint of flushed pink. How new. “I apologize if I am interrupting your studies.”
Standing from your desk you threw her a smile. “You could never interrupt me.”
The pink on her cheeks only grew a brighter shade as she forced her eyes away from your face. “I have a question, it may seem an inappropriate question.”
Your heart started pounding in your ears. You could only guess what in the world she was talking about. “Shorekeeper, you know me better than anyone else, I doubt what you are going to ask me is that inappropriate.”
Watching her chest move up and down as she took deep breaths working up the courage to ask. “Why do humans seek out sexual desires?”
Now it was your time to falter. What in the world had she been watching or reading? Watching the panic raise in her eyes you let a chuckle escape your lips to try and calm her down. “Well I can only give you my reasoning. I do it to feel good, the pleasure and the feeling of giving your partner ecstasy is mind numbingly good.” You practically purred that last bit thinking of your previous escapades.
She kept avoiding your eyes as you watched her process your words. “Shorekeeper, why are you asking?”
“I have been doing some research into what a relationship for most humans looks like and the topic of sex came up constantly.” She was speaking quickly in embarrassment.
Good lord how was she this innocent and cute at the same time. Taking a moment to think about your next words you held out your hand to her. “Are you asking to know what sex feels like?”
Now her face was as red as a Pavo Plum, she blinked slowly at you as if trying to process why you would even ask her that. You waited patiently to let her think about your question, this was not something you wanted to rush her in, and if it even felt like you coerced her into this you would hate yourself for all of your days.
Finally after what felt like forever she opened her mouth. “Yes, I want to know what sex feels like. But isn't sex normally between a man and a woman?” She took small steps to your hand and gently intertwined her fingers with yours getting closer to your body.
“Typically yes, but there is nothing preventing a woman and another woman from having sex.” You let her take her time getting used to the closeness of your bodies. Her outfit left not much to the imagination, you could only imagine what she was wanting you to do or where she was sensitive to touch.
Her curious eyes watched your face. “And you will show me how this works, yes?”
You nodded at her question. “As long as this is what you want me to do.” She could only mimic your motion and that was all you needed. You walked her over to your bed and sat her down gently. “Before we begin, a few ground rules. If you say stop that stops everything, if you don’t want me to touch somewhere you say no. We take this at your pace okay?”
“And what do I do to pleasure you?” She was flustered but she was always thinking about you and you alone.
“You enjoy yourself, bringing you pleasure will give me pleasure.” With her shy nod you fell to your knees in front of her. Nice and gentle, you had to be soft with her. You ran your hand up her soft leg as you unbuckled her shoes.
Her body reacted to your touch, goosebumps racing across her skin as you took your time kissing up her legs. Working your hands to the back of her dress you kept your eyes on her beautiful purple eyes as her chest heaved, her soft hands were tangled in your silk sheets. “May I?”
Giving you permission, you slowly unzipped her thin dress letting the sleeves fall off her shoulders. As the fabric fell off her body you stared at her beautiful and perfect perky breasts, it took everything inside you to keep from pouncing on her and bury your head in between them and get lost in her body.
But this wasn’t about you, this was about her. Your lover. Your lover.
“Are you okay so far my love?” You glanced up at her watching her small reactions.
“Y-yes, I am fine. Please continue.” She was so shy, it was adorable.
“Lift your hips baby, let’s get this off you.” She followed your order letting you slip the dress off of her exposing her naked body to you; save for her panties that is. And boy were they cute, lace and white lining her perfect pussy ready for your taking.
Hooking a finger in the leg band you let a smirk tug at your lips. “Such cute panties.” You cooed out to her rising up from your knees. “Do you want to watch me undress?”
Her eyes sparkled as she nodded letting you work through throwing off your clothing, panties and all. You approached the bed again watching her stare at every inch of your body, her eyes lingering on your breasts. As you got closer to her you lifted her arm so she could grope at your breast as you leaned in kissing her deeply with all the passion you could give her.
She moaned in surprise at the touch, it was the perfect opportunity to get your tongue inside her mouth. You gently brushed your tongue against her bottom lip, her mouth opened shyly giving you access. She was tentative to move as you explored her mouth, but it didn’t take much time for hers to meet yours, they danced with each other as you drank in every bit she gave you.
You had to have everything she had, nothing else would be acceptable. She was the one who broke the kiss, needing to catch her breath, staring at a string of saliva still attached to both of your mouths, which stroked your flame for her.
You were all for her taking her time but you needed more of her taste. “On your back baby.” Following your orders she positioned herself to lay comfortably on your bed. Gently taking both of her legs in your hands you positioned her right where you wanted her.
Now for the last little bit. You ran your hands up her legs grabbing at the lace that covered your desired fruit. Slowly you slid them down her legs tossing them onto your desk. “The first thing I am going to do is eat you out.”
Her head tilted at your words. “Eat me out? That is not possible.”
Ahhhh, you forgot how innocent she really was. “It means I am going to stimulate your pussy with my mouth. I promise you it will feel good.” You lowered yourself onto your stomach putting her feet on your shoulders as you raised your mouth up to her clit.
She smelled sweet, mouthwatering sweet. But what surprised you was that she was already wet. Naughty girl, her research had aroused her. First you licked your lips, wetting them some more wanting to be as smooth as possible for her, then with a deep breath; taking in her scent one last time, you raised your tongue to her opening and licked all the way up to her clit.
The moan that escaped her lips was heavenly. Just the subtle twitching of her body sent a shock of pleasure right to your core. The taste could satiate you for months, and as she smelled she tasted just as sweet. So perfect.
You kept your ministrations gentle and slow, letting her feel the pleasure drinking in everything she had to give you. The sweet addictive juices that were now your nectar of life, her very cute moans that she couldn't keep hidden from you.
“I-I feel strange.” She managed to choke out as her hips wiggled under your soft grip. “T-there is a t-tightness in my s-stomach.”
It was like the angels singing in your ears. Battling with yourself you pulled away just enough to talk her through it but also still brush something across her bundle of nerves that was the sole object of your obsession. “You are okay, just let yourself feel it and ride the wave beautiful.”
Now was your time to really go deep into it to let her experience the throes of pleasure. Latching your lips around her clit you started sucking as gently as you could to let her ride her high out to the fullest.
Your name came cascading from her lips as she reached her peak. Her body went taught for a moment then fell to your bed, not wanting to overstimulate her you detached yourself from her and watched her breathe heavily. “I have you my dear, you’re safe.”
You held her hand gently letting her twitch under your body, she needed time to come down from her orgasm. While you let her take her time to come back to reality you kept your body pressed against hers. Once she was back her purple eyes met yours again. “I still have a desire for more.”
The gods had blessed you on this day truly, but you had to be sure she could handle more. “You may desire it, but it depends on if your body can handle more. May I touch you again?” Her ‘yes’ was so shy it was adorable. You reached your free hand down between her legs, she was wet enough that you didn’t need to soak your fingers yourself.
You ran two fingers between her folds making sure to get enough of her wetness to lube up your fingers. “Alright, I am going to finger you now.” Slowly you started to inch your fingers inside her entrance. Just the feeling of her around you made you dizzy, it was everything you could have wanted wrapped in the perfect package of the wonderful Shorekeeper.
Arching your fingers up, you brushed your fingertips against her soft spot already knowing how to play her body like a fiddle. She choked out a gasp as you could only assume the pleasure rushed to her brain from her spine. You took your time thrusting your fingers in and out of her as her entrance clamped around you trying to pull you back inside every time.
“You’re such a good girl.” You cooed out to her as you brushed your thumb against her clit to match the pace of your fingers, her moans growing louder. She was so perfect, the way she called out your name as she tried, and failed, to sit still. Her beautiful breasts bouncing with her heavy breaths captivating you, you needed more of her.
Keeping your fingers inside her and circling her clit at a steady pace you leaned down over her body, wrapping your lips around her nipple sucking gently. Her squeal mixed with her wanton moans set your core ablaze. Like you said, bringing her the pleasure she was experiencing was enough for you.
She was getting close to coming again, now was the time to pull out the big guns. Removing yourself from her nipple, which was now very wet from your licking and sucking, you kissed all the way up her chest to her neck, then up her chin.
Suddenly you increased your pace of your fingers making sure to target her soft spot as you kissed her, making sure your tongue was inside her again wanting her to feel you. Her hands made their way to your back as she moaned as best she could as she tried to meet your pace but her orgasam took over her body.
Her beautifully painted fingernails buried themselves into your back as her body twitched and pulsed under you. Pulling your mouth away from hers you let her breath through it, though she was struggling. “In and out slowly baby girl.” You spoke softly as you kissed her face lovingly, she was following your orders and slowly her body started to relax falling back into the sheets.
Her eyes were glossy as you watched her very closely. “I’m taking my fingers out now.” Talking her through this last part was crucial. She whined as you did as you told her, it took everything inside you to not be a nasty pervert and make her watch as you licked them clean of her orgasam.
In private you would, she didn’t need to see that right now.
“I’m going to get a towel and some water, just lay here.” Getting off the bed softly you made your way to your connected bathroom to get a soft cloth. You took a look in the mirror and smirked at yourself as you raised your hand up that was covered in her essence.
You licked your fingers clean, tasting her one last time. After finishing you wetted the towel with warm water and made your way back to her laying pliant on your bed. Her knees were pushed together blocking you from touching her sensitive pussy again. “Let’s get you cleaned up darling.” Sitting in front of her you spread her legs and gently and as delicately as you could you cleaned her up.
Once she was taken care of and the towel safely in your hamper you laid next to her waiting for her to come back to reality, to come back to you. It took some time but her eyes cleared up as she curled into your body needing your closeness.
With her face safely nestled between your breasts you heard her speaking softly. “Thank you.”
You pulled the blanket over the two of you protecting her naked body. “Anything for you my love.” With a soft kiss to her head the two of you fell into a slumber of peace.

"I mean, I understand why you would, with the inn prices being so high, but really?"
His fingers drummed on the market stand in front of him. Eyes wandering, he gave a slight shrug. "It's not as if I have any other options, do I? I can't exactly make a house appear out of thin air." Despite what should've been desolate words, the smirk written all over his face added a playful lilt to his speech.
Your face was tinted a cute pink, but it wasn't because of him. It was a sun-kissed hue tanned into the flesh of your cheek from the humidity. Still, he felt proud of himself when a polite laugh ripped through the heatwaves beating down on the both of you. "Well, still, camping might be fun for some people but you look like you're going to sweat your hide off. Are you sure you don't want some money to stay at a room with some kind of air conditioning or something?"
He looked down at his clothes, "Do I really look that bad? I'll have you know I'm quite comfortable." He did a playful twirl. You took note of the dreamy and far off nature buried in the depths of his pupils.
Another chirp of laughter passing your lips, "Yeah, sure you are. Your forehead is caked in sweat." You turned around, heading to the back of your small shaded booth before plucking a small beige satchel of coins out. You turned around again, just to find his fingers drumming on the table while his eyes darted just about everywhere but your humble shop's offerings. "Take it, tonight's on me."
Just as quickly as you slid it across the table, the bag was pushed back into your retreating palm. "No need, I'm not exactly what anyone would call... delicate."
Your own smile tugged at your lips as you shoved the bag of shells back across the table. There was a devious glint in your eyes as you quipped back to him, "No need to play coy, I'm not after anything." Your fingers brushed up against the back of his hand. "That is, unless you want me to be."
This time, it was his turn to chuckle. He only seemed further motivated by the challenge, smirk opening up his cheeks. The scarred tissue on his face uncomfortably hindered one side of his face, causing a more lopsided grin. Even if it was one caused by pain, the smile was endearing. It was imperfectly beautiful, uneven but genuine.
"I'm not strapped for cash," His eyes flashed a dangerous mischief, "-but I wouldn't be surprised if you were. You seem all too eager to hand off your money to any pretty traveler passing through town."
To this, your lips opened, closed, and then opened again. "I don't remember calling you pretty, but I can't say I disagree with that either." You still insistently held the bag firmly against his palm, gently wrapping his hand around the drawstrings of the bag with your fingers, "That being said, consider it some... local hospitality. Nobody in the village wants anyone to go to sleep cold or hot or uncomfortable. We're all just trying to make a living, even if we don't agree with each other all the time."
His own eyes widened slightly, but he didn't stutter or seem taken aback by the sudden sincerity in your tone. "I don't see why you'd help me, I can see you're barely keeping food on your own table."
You averted your eyes sheepishly, "That may be true, but I don't have trouble keeping a roof over my head." Your former smile transformed into a sort of grimace, "I know I really shouldn't be telling visitors this if we want to keep having any travelers stop in, but..." You took in a deep breath, "There's this Tacet Field that opened up nearby, and I- I don't think I'd be able to live with myself if you--or really anyone--got ambushed because you couldn't afford a room."
You shook your head and urgently pressed the bag into his hands, "So, just for my peace of mind, go ahead and just take this and get yourself a comfy bed to sleep in." You offered him a sincere smile, withdrawing your own hands, "I swear on it, Miss Chunhua makes the best breakfast if you have enough time for it."
He hummed, pretending to consider it for a moment.
Of course, he was already intrigued you knew of a Tacet Field popping up before any of the Midnight Rangers could make the time to come and investigate it themselves. But, he was more concerned with your show of completely selfless kindness. The amount of shells in the bag would be more than enough for a room at the inn, enough for a couple at the very least. If anything, he wondered why you had this amount just casually set aside in a bag.
"As touched as I am by your kindness, I don't need it." He dropped the bag down onto the counter with one hand. The other grabbed at the food he'd bought from you. "I'm more than strong enough to handle a few tacet discords. You don't need to worry your little head off about anyone like me."
You immediately protested, "If it's about the money, it really isn't that-"
You were cut off with another of his sweet laughs. "No, it isn't about the money. As touched as I am that you want me to sleep safely, I'm here to investigate the Tacet Field myself up close." He held a finger to his lips, "Don't tell anyone though, alright?"
Your eyes widened in protest, "What do you mean you're investigating it? That's-" You promptly shut your mouth. "With your confidence, I know you probably have some kind of Tacet Mark, but it's really not safe. Those things- they're-"
He shook his head again, lopsided grin only getting bigger. He held his pinky out, "Would a promise make you feel any better?"
Your frown only deepened, "Look, I know you think your Tacet Mark will keep you safe but I have a Tacet Mark. They're more than dangerous, they're larger and more aggressive than they usually are. They look like they're just about to rip anyone that gets close enough to shreds."
He shrugged, "I've seen worse."
"Somehow, I believe you," You remarked dismally, "But you should trust me on this. My farm is right on the outskirts of town and I've gotten front row seats trying to subdue those things. They're practically in my backyard all day." Your face contorted into one of mild discomfort, "Just take the money, if you want to be able to look at the Tacet Field up close, I'll let you use my farm. Does that work?"
He put a weighty finger on his chin, crossing his other arm across his chest. He snapped his finger, as if he came to a realization. "What if I camp out on your farm? That way, you can see that I'm still in one piece."
Your jaw tensed for a moment, seeming to think it over. It didn't help your conscious that he seemed to naively sure of himself. You didn't know if the nasty full-length scar on the side of his face was any indicator of his skill or any fights he'd actually been in. Perhaps it'd been some freak accident during childhood? You took in a deep breath. "How about you pay a fraction of the price you would for the inn and just rent a room in my house? I have one facing the back, it's got the perfect view of the Tacet Field."
He tapped his chin a couple of times before finally seeming to agree that would be the best outcome. He finally nodded. "It's the best of both worlds, I don't see why not."
You breathed a quick sigh of relief, finally letting the tension in your shoulders relax. "Oh thank god."
Your face flushed an embarrassed crimson when the sound of his boisterous laughter met your ears, dying out just as quickly as it emerged. He offered you his hand, one you took in your own.
"Scar, pleasure doing business with you."
Tumblr media
"You're back!"
Scar couldn't deny the sweet squeeze your tone of affection had on his heart. Of course, he couldn't exactly let it be known either. The quaint grin that always seemed to be there was all that greeted you. "I'm surprised you remember me."
You tilted your head at him curiously, your own warm grin still on your face. "Well, it isn't every day we get tourists. It also isn't every day that those tourists show up wearing bright red."
He was pleasantly surprised that you didn't mention the brutal injury that marred a majority of his face. Usually, when people brought up his rather... distinctive appearance, that was their go-to. "It's been a while though, hasn't it? Your village probably had more than enough foot traffic to forget about me."
You hummed, putting together the same thing he bought from your humble little stand last time. "Maybe, but they haven't been anywhere near as memorable." You turned around with the little satchel of treats. "You've got this way about you, y'know? It's hard to find in anyone else."
"Hard to find in anyone else... you say that like you've already found it again. Don't tell me you've managed to replace me already?" It was obvious that he took joy in the momentary conundrum that flashed across your expression.
"You're twisting my words!" You countered, pointing a jokingly accusatory finger at him. "You're hard to forget, especially cause you're one of the only people that's actually made the effort to strike up talk past polite conversation." Still, you gave an exaggerated sigh as you approached the front counter again, lamenting, "It'd help if you managed to say more than a few words without squeezing a few jabs in."
His smile widened to showcase his teeth, the small twinge of pain as the scar tissue strained against his joyful motion brought a small pool of pity into your own irises. It wasn't one that Scar missed either. Instead of bringing it up, he shrugged, "Life's too short to not cause some mischief, right? I'd be way too bored if I didn't at least poke some buttons."
You hummed, crossing your arms thoughtfully. You shrugged before sticking your tongue out at him, "Still, I won't forget anytime soon." You laid the little beige box on the table. "I'll have to get back at you somehow, I just have to wait for the right chance to do it."
Scar clicked his tongue in response, "Well, it seems you'll have to wait some time before that can happen."
You raised an eyebrow, "Well, I mean, you're here now, aren't you?" Your eyes softened, "If you need a place to stay tonight, you can set up camp in my house again--free of charge this time."
He shook his head, "No need, I'm just making a quick stop in." Precisely why he was confused he was even at your shop in the first place.
You nodded, "Well, just remember you're free to crash at mine anytime."
He chortled quietly before quipping, "What, are you that lonely?"
Your face flushed a familiar pink, opening and closing your mouth like a fish. You finally settled on snatching your box back into your arms. "You're awful!"
He laughed, louder, unabashedly.
You shook your head, "You're just a good roommate is all." You sauntered off towards the back of the booth again, locking up your safe. "You didn't stay out too late, you didn't make much noise at night, and you put up with my god-awful cooking."
He shrugged, "You're being pretty harsh on yourself, I remember it being pretty good."
You looked at him suspiciously, "Just because you're a worse cook doesn't mean I'm some kind of chef."
"Hey!"
It was your turn to laugh at him this time, swinging your keys around your finger. "You know what, you're right. Picking at you is pretty fun, I'll have to remember to do it more often."
He shook his head, though, it was clear there was no real disappointment behind it. "I'm a terrible influence."
You hummed, pushing open the small turn-style door to your booth. "I wouldn't say that. I just think you're a... unique influence. I don't really have many people my age to talk to."
He put his hands on his hips, "That's basically just another way to call me a bad influence. Plus, the fact that you don't have any other influences doesn't make me a good one."
You handed him the small, cutely wrapped box with one hand, "Yeah, but it does mean you don't have much competition." You pointed towards the small home at the end of the road, a building Scar remembered to be the inn with your other hand. "Say, let's go eat at Aunty Chunhua's."
He held the package close to his chest with a curious tilt of the head. "Are you asking me out on a date?"
Instead of freezing up in embarrassment this time, you put your hands on your hips. "Only if you want it to be." You pushed him away from your stall excitedly, "To be honest, Chunhua made a batch of some of the best soup ever this morning and I've been catching a whiff of it for the past hour or so. It's making me really hungry."
His face caught a surge of heat, transitioning from a light pink caused by the weather to a deeper magenta. "So if I wanted it to be a date, it could be?"
You nodded, playing along with his joke. "Totally, I'll even give you some freebies if you agree to split the bill with me."
He snickered, "So you're only asking me cause you couldn't afford to get a bowl on your own?"
Your head bobbed up and down shamelessly, "Precisely," You threw a casual arm over his shoulders, "As much as I love her, Aunt Chunhua's prices are way too high for a humble farmer for me." Beginning to tug him along, "But with a handsome, rich stranger by my side I can have all the soup I want! So hurry up, I'm only getting hungrier!"
He breathed in slowly, "Handsome?"
"Yes, very handsome." Your eyes didn't divert from the source of the delicious smell wafting through the air as your mouth opened, "Your eyes are pretty, and your smile is easy on the eyes. Your face is really symmetrical even with the scar on half of it." You paused for a moment, "Speaking of which, I don't get why the other people in the village say you look scary, a scar is just another type of skin, right?"
He seemed to trail off into thought for a moment, "Hm, I guess it is."

The life of a Fractcidus overseer was not an easy one.
That fact should've been obvious to just about anyone that thought about it for a few minutes. It became even more obvious when you lived the life yourself.
It was all the more reason an overseer kept the people close to them at arms length. When you were constantly in danger, it meant anyone you associated with would also be in danger. There was no telling what kinds of hostile entities could get the bright idea to use a loved one as some kind of bargaining chip. Would Scar be willing to sacrifice that chip for the goals of the organization?
When it came to you, he didn't know.
You were this pure, unadulterated light. Sweet, untouched by the filth of the world. As a humble rice farmer in a rural village, he doubted you even knew the Fractcidus existed. Of course, you still knew what Tacet Fields were, you knew what Tacet Discords were, hell you had a Tacet Mark. You were strong and proud, never arrogant or unnecessary with your strengths.
But unlike Scar, you were completely selfless in your use of your abilities. Would you still look at him the same if you knew the depths of his soul? Would you peel back his burnt, horrid flesh, look at the demons in his heart and still accept him? Would you ever end of agreeing with his vision of the world?
He didn't know, nor did he care to find out.
For your sake and his, the question was better left unanswered.
He would keep his distance, he decided. He wouldn't ask the question, he wouldn't hear the answer. He felt a little unfair, plucking the decision from you entirely, but what choice did he have? If you decided to give the Fractcidus the time of day, your little life tucked away in your fields would grind to a strict halt.
There was no guarantee you would have a roof over your head in the night, no guarantee you would come home safe. Your booth at the town market would be left unattended every Sunday morning, you wouldn't be there to fend off the stray Tacet Discords that came in close enough to the village to actually threaten civilian life.
Even if he would be selfish in just about every other aspect of his life, something about your inherent lack of an ability to put yourself first inspired him to finally step up to the plate and put you first instead.
After his last visit, he knew he couldn't deny the brewing butterflies fluttering across the recesses of his ribcage. He couldn't stop the flush from spreading all over his face when he talked to you. He couldn't even really hold a real conversation without hinting at his feelings in one way or another, but besides his own feelings there were yours.
Even if you could get past his criminal pass times, would you be able to get past the fact that he didn't have the same parts as any other man?
He couldn't describe it, the way your own desires and proverbial thoughts intermingled with his own.
Alongside his own inner monologue, there was suddenly, a second voice. "The voice of reason", he called it. It argued for your needs and wants. You needed shelter, you needed safety. You might've wanted to be in a relationship with him, you might've wanted to see him more often, but giving you those would completely override your needs. Besides, he couldn't even guarantee that was what you wanted. Maybe, you wanted to be in a relationship with someone who could settle down with you. You might want someone who was born a man. So, since he couldn't be what you wanted or what you needed, so he removed himself from the equation entirely.
Or at least, he tried to.
Deep down, he was still selfish. He felt awful when he realized he couldn't completely put your safety first. The guilt churning in his gut only got worse when he realized you wouldn't have been able to bring yourself to blame him; not when he showed up to your door looking as pitiful as he did.
Caked in mud, soaking wet and frowning like a poor stray left out in the rain. Storm raging outside from every angle, thunder, lightning, torrential rain that made it difficult to hear your own thoughts. Blinded by the dark, at risk of running into any manner of Tacet Discords with the nearby Tacet Field.
"What the actual hell are you doing outside?" You demanded to know, ushering him inside. One second, you disappeared into the depths of your home, skittering down the stairs with a warm, dry towel being unceremoniously dropped on his head.
He didn't answer, letting you towel the muck and wetness out of his usually unruly white hair.
"Have you eaten yet?" You questioned him, throwing a stack of your own sleeping clothes at him. You ran around like a headless chicken, trying to get him comfortable.
More guilt dripped and dropped onto his shoulders like a leaking faucet as he stared at your dumbfounded face when he choked out his answer in the negative.
He couldn't help the sweet mix of fondness in his stomach the longer you fussed over him. Scolding him for not taking proper care of himself, poking him in the chest and telling him he was far too careless of his own health.
He couldn't stop the lopsided smile that snuck up on him when you pushed him into the same bedroom you'd provided him the last time he stayed in your home. Nor could he help himself when you yelled through the door that you were still making dinner so you had enough time to throw in some extra ingredients to accommodate a few extra portions.
'Just one more time,' He conceded, one more time he would let you take care of him.
'This will be the last time', he promised. Who he promised it to? He couldn't make up his mind. He didn't know if it was to you, the unknowing victim, or to himself.
Tumblr media
"What's all this?"
You noticed pretty quickly, Scar had a habit of nervous fidgeting. Scratch that, not exactly nervous fidgeting but more bored fidgeting. When he wasn't doing anything, he would be bouncing his leg or drumming his fingers on whatever surface was available.
You set down the rather large bottle on the table, cracking open the top of it without a second thought. "It's some cider I've been aging. I wasn't really sure when I'd have the opportunity to share it with someone."
You didn't notice his smile falter as you turned around to go retrieve your wine glasses from a cabinet. When you returned to the table, his expression was the same as it always was. You settled yourself at the seat across from him at your little round table. "I don't really see what's all that special about me being here, I'll be gone in the morning when the storm's passed."
You nodded, "I mean, it makes sense that you're confused since you live a life of intrigue." You flicked the cork of the bottle off. "I'm alone a lot of the time here. Sometimes I'll stop into Miss Chunhua's to cough up what little money I can scrounge together, maybe sometimes I'll get courted by some lady from another village, but I don't have many meaningful friendships."
His brow twitched, but you didn't catch much of a shift in his face otherwise. "I catch your drift."
You chuckled, hand coming to rest on the sweet-smelling bottle of liquor, "Lighten up! I'm breaking out the alcohol as a part of a celebration that you're back!" You poured yourself about half a glass, pushing the bottle towards him afterwards, "I might live a lonely life, but it only makes every time you stop by more special."
He wondered, would you still look at him so fondly if you knew he would lead you to your pitiful end?
Even then, he couldn't bring himself to rain even harder on your parade. He took the large green jug in his hand before pouring himself a similar portion. He did his best to smile, to act joyful so that you would smile too.
But, you noticed the difference immediately. The fake versus the real. When he smiled genuinely, one side of his face would lift more than the other, a result of the drastic scarring. But, when he was pretending, it seemed like he ignored his own pain in favor of trying to look as natural as possible. Both sides of his face remained even.
"...Are you alright?"
The question caused the grin to vanish off his cheeks entirely, eyes raising to meet your own. He hated the fact that they were downturned, the clear worry scribbled all over your face. He made a crude attempt at reassuring you, the same practiced smile carving it's way onto his expression yet again. "Yeah, why wouldn't I be?"
You didn't even try to hide the fact you were still worried. "Scar..."
A jolt of panic elevated his heart rate, tilting his head to the side. "Aw, are you worried about me? I'm totally fine," As a little last ditch effort, he quickly tacked on, "...maybe a little frazzled from the rain, but I'm okay."
Your eyes narrowed, creases inlaying themselves on your forehead. "You know you can tell me just about anything right? I-" You paused, "I might not be the smartest, I don't have some fancy education and I've never been to the capital, but I can do my best to try to understand."
His eyes widened, expression falling flat. His breath caught in his throat as he tried to write it off. "Hey, don't write yourself off, you're a lot smarter than half my coworkers." He attempted to crack a joke, but it was obvious it fell short when you leaned back in your chair and crossed your arms.
"That still doesn't answer my question." Even when you were trying to be stern with him, you still didn't seem to have a strong enough spine to truly be mean. "You know you can tell me anything, right? I'm not some little porcelain doll that'll break if you say the wrong thing. I'm a grown man."
"Well, of course I know that." He paused, thinking over his words carefully, "It's just that I can't tell you."
You perked up in your chair, tilting your head to the side. "What's that supposed to mean?"
He let out a breathy laugh, "It's nothing against you, it's just... work-related?" Technically, it was the truth. He reasoned that it would be alright to say that much as long as he didn't really let much else slip. "I know you probably think it'd be alright for me to talk about it since you wouldn't know anything about the organization besides what I tell you, but it's confidential."
There was a pause while he waited for your response.
He let the tension fall from his shoulders when you reached for your wine glass, "I get it, rather be safe than sorry kind of situation, right?"
His head shook up and down a little bit too quickly for your liking, "Exactly like that actually."
You motioned with your glass to his own. "Wanna toast? Just to getting away from your problems for a little bit. I'm assuming your employer can't really reach you during a storm as bad as this on a little farm out in the middle of nowhere."
This time, his smile was as lopsided as you remembered. He scooped up his own glass and brought it to meet your own with a little 'Clink!'
He relaxed a little bit as he watched the concern melt off of your face. You took a swig of the cider, watching him take a sip as well. It was sweet, with a little tang underneath it. It was a standard fruit-infused cider. Still, to make some polite conversation he found himself asking, "What'd you make this with?"
You set your glass down. You instead brought the bottle to your face, swishing around the liquid to see if you could find any identifiers. "I can't remember if this was the tropfruit batch or the gemberry batch..."
Scar took another taste, "I'd make a bet on it being tropfruit."
You hummed, "Yeah, that sounds right."
Tumblr media
"Do you want to take this any further?"
Scar took a moment to respond, still catching his breath from a kiss that was just a little bit to passionate to really be dismissed as anything but an invitation. He cursed himself internally for letting the alcohol cloud his judgement enough to let things go this far.
Even though everything in his mind screamed for him to stop things where they were, his grip on your shoulders was just as tight as before. His chest was still pressed against yours, his back was still leaned against the counter.
His glass of liquor remained on the tabletop just a few short feet away from where the two of you had semi-melted together into a tangle of limbs.
It'd started out innocent at first, he was teasing you like he always did. He couldn't remember when it'd gotten physical, the only real memory having been wrapping his arms around your waist from behind.
It'd only really taken off from there, soon enough, you were hovering over him and his lower back was getting sore from the sharp countertop bleeding a line into it.
"I-" he paused. "It wouldn't be smart for me to let this go on for any longer." It was the continuation of that thought that would've really broken you heart. '-lest you find out he wasn't the man you thought he was.'
Even though he was the one to say no, he couldn't help the sinking feeling in his gut when you nodded at him. There was a deep regret coursing through his veins as you pulled away, going back to washing the dishes. He only felt worse when the selfish little part of his brain got frustrated when you tried to just pick up the conversation where it'd left off.
"You're heading out tomorrow morning, right? Where are you headed to?"
Tumblr media
"You're drunk and you've already told me no tonight, 'm not going to take advantage of you."
Even in your insistence, Scar could feel your resolve melting when confronted with the alcohol running through your own system. The longer he pressed, the sloppier your words got. Every passing minute, it seemed a little bit more of your willpower seemed to slip past your fingertips like sand.
Like the sweet tendrils of temptation, he connected his lips to your jaw again, like a sweet promise. Even as he pulled away, he could smell the sickeningly sweet odor of the liquor left behind like a tattoo on your unblemished skin.
"What? Haven't gotten this close to anyone before?" He teased, shifting against you on the loveseat in your living room. He'd been sitting next to you previously, taking your drinks to the den so you two could properly relax before bed. Now, he writhed on your lap, straddling your hips.
Your eyes were bleary with intoxication, still trained on him as your eyelids drooped like a weeping willow. Your teeth were grit together, your hands on his waist as you tried to gently coax him off of you. "That's besides the point-" You were cut off by your own voice, grunting when he took the chance to bite down on the sensitive skin of your collar.
He snickered, grinding himself down onto your thigh, "No wonder you're so nervous."
This time, you truly made the effort to get him off of you, a sense of urgency in the way you called his name. "You need to stop and let yourself sleep this off." Your hands moved to be against his chest, trying your best not to hurt him when you moved to push him off of you. "I like you too much for you to sleep with me, regret it, and never come back again."
He cocked his head to the side, eyes finally meeting yours as he asked. "What if I don't regret it? Did you consider that?"
You blinked a few times, still sort-of out of it and under the influence. "I would've considered it if you didn't tell me you were uncomfortable earlier." You pushed against him gently. It wasn't strong enough to be classified a shove, just consistent pressure to keep his inebriated body from leaning up against yours. "Sso, go to bed. If you really want to do anything like this, you'll wait until you're sober to talk t'me about this."
He huffed, both understanding and impatient. His hands rested on your shoulders, moving from exploring the expanses of your torso. "Did you consider why I told you to stop?"
Your eyes shut in an attempt to make the room stop spinning for a moment. "No, 'course I didn't." While your sense of chivalry kept him from resting on you, your head rolled to the side to let your cheek rest on one of his hands on your shoulder. "You told me no, I did what anyone worth their salt was 'sposed to do. You didn't need a reason to say no."
He sighed, just barely twisting his wrist around to cradle your face. He brushed his thumb against your skin, his own eyelids starting to feel like they were solidifying into lead. "You're really dense, y'know."
Your eyebrows came down your forehead, furrowing to a point, "Who're you calling dense? You're the dense one, You- You-"
He cut off any and all trains of coherent thought when he pressed a seemingly innocent kiss to your lips. In your drunken mess, you chased after him when he pulled away. "You didn't think I had a thing for you, too?"
Your eyes blinked open at him, expression still a little tense. "Hm?"
He laid his forehead against yours, voice lowered to that of a whisper, "I stay away cause I like you. I don't want you to be in trouble cause you hang around me."
Immediately you were up in arms about his assertion, "That doesn't make any sense."
He hummed, "It might not make sense to you, but if you knew what I did, I feel like you would do the same thing."
He could feel the heavy breath that passed your lips. He could also feel your hands moving back down to his waist. You wrapped around him gingerly, tentatively. Even when you were too drunk to think straight, you cared so much about his comfort. "I'm not weak, 'm really strong. If someone came after me, I could handle it."
He chuckled, resting his head on your now free shoulder. "Yeah, but would you still like me if you knew I was the one that put you in trouble?" You nodded with a vigor against his own forehead. He combed his fingers through your hair, gently.
He let out a noise of contentment before drawing in another breath and holding it. "Even if I was trans?"
He could feel the way your eyes blinked in confusion, lashes tickling his forehead. "mm' so?"
"What do you mean?" He asked, forgetting how to breathe for a second.
Your hold on his hips got tighter as you pulled him in closer. "Why would that matter, at all?"
He pulled back from you, "You'd still have the hots for me? Even if I didn't have a dick?"
Your immaturity shone through as you chuckled at his crude language. You leaned back further into the plush of the sofa. "Yeah, why wouldn't I? I haven't really seen you naked before. I don't see why you'd think I'm only attracted to you for your body."
He could feel the revelation start to sober him up. His heart felt like it was beating a million miles a minute. He tripped over his words while he looked for the correct way to articulate his thoughts to a very drunk man, "W-Well, I mean yeah, but it's a deal breaker to some people. Not everyone is into that, y'know?"
Your eyes met his, the difference in your cognizance becoming obvious. While he was fully alert and at full attention, your eyes remained half-lidded and glazed with alcohol. "In all honesty, I don't know what I'm into. I don't have enough time to think about it." You gave his love handles an affectionate squeeze, "But when I do think about it, I think about you and how you make my heart feel all mushy."
He could feel his head start to spin as he tentatively asked again, "So you still feel the same way about me? You don't care that I don't have the same parts as a guy?"
You frowned, "What do you mean? You're still a guy, aren't you?" You put your head on his shoulder. "Your name is still Scar, I call you he and him and that's what you prefer, right? I don't really know all that much about it, but if you want me to call you a guy, then you'll always be the prettiest guy on the planet to me."
"..."
"..."
"..."
"...Scar?"
"Help me take my shirt off."
Tumblr media
"You're sure you won't regret giving me your first time in the morning?"
Even if it sounded like he was teasing you, you could tell from the tremble in his legs that he meant it. You glided your fingers towards his waistband, tentatively waiting for the go-ahead. "Will you regret sleeping with me in the morning?"
He shook his head again, lifting his hips every so slightly so you could hook your finger under his pants and start the process of tugging them off. "Well, there's your answer." You pulled them down his thighs, getting them to his ankles before he helped kick them off the side of the bed. You gripped his thighs with one hand, the other motioning towards his boxers. "May I?"
There was the lopsided grin you loved so much. He gave a quick affirmation, nodding his head with a playful, "So polite." Despite his eased assurance, you could tell he was still nervous. You knew this would be your first time, but you wondered if this might be his.
Your hand came up to intertwine with his, sliding his boxers off with one hand as you dipped your face down to plant a saccharine kiss to his forehead. There was a pleasant shiver up his spine when he was fully exposed, completely naked and bare for you to see him in his entirety.
Still, even when confronted with the countless scars on his body, you dipped down to his torso to worship every bit of skin you could get your greedy lips on. He shook with an added fervor when you kissed at his top scars.
The tremors got even worse when you were finally situated between his legs. He bashfully averted eye contact when he could feel you looking at the parts of his body he was easily the most embarrassed of. It only got worse when he could feel the mattress shift when you laid all your weight on it.
He let out a shaky moan when you delicately planted a kiss on his folds. Sensitive, he was far too sensitive. Generally, you had an okay idea of what you were doing in theory. The real advantage here was your impossibly quick ability to learn exactly what made him tick.
Your touch was ticklish against his skin when you pushed his legs over your shoulders. He felt beyond vulnerable when he really was completely on display for your eyes to see and your featherlight touch to roam.
You licked between the lips tentatively and slowly, waiting to see which part your tongue ran over would make him squirm the most. You drank in the noises he made and the trembling of his thighs around your head when you parted him open with your fingers. You closed your eyes when you placed a kiss where you could only guess the clit was.
When you earned a quiet whine in return, you turned a majority of your attention to the spot. First, it was a lick, and then it turned into experimental sucking until the nub hardened under your attentive care. His fingers wrapped themselves in the tresses of your hair, pulling on your scalp with each and every sensation that coursed through his body.
Eventually, you set your sights just below the spot you'd been taking care of before. With a hesitant sense of uncertainty, you pressed your tongue flat against the opening. You were rewarded with a harsh yank and a breathless call of your name.
You withdrew your tongue to savor his taste before you delved back in again. You drew little circles around his slit before further pinning his lips open so you could truly go to town on him. You pushed your tongue inside of him slowly, a rush of pride rolling down your back with the sigh that emitted from his lips.
Subconsciously, he pushed his hips closer to your face. Your nose rested against his clit for a moment before you started to explore his insides. His walls twitched around your tongue in tandem with the twitching of his thighs flexing and unflexing around your head. Your movements were slow, noting and taking in each and every little reaction to each and every one of your delicate touches.
He got impatient, a needy whimper pulled from his throat when he ground his pelvis against your face. To accommodate him, you sped up quickly, trying to remember which spots to hit inside while you did so. The building heat only seemed to worsen when your fingers came up to his clit, brushing against it so gently with both your nose and pads of your fingertips.
You drew lazy little tight circles on the nub, savoring his taste on your tongue while he all but did his best to ride your face. Soon enough, your other hand was at his entrance just barely warming the skin on the inside of his thighs before they joined your tongue inside of him.
One finger to start with, slowly going in and out at the same pace as your tongue. Then a second joined. At this point, it was getting hard to keep his noises quiet. A louder moan broke the soft atmosphere when you started to scissor your fingers apart to stretch him open. You started to speed up your movement at the insistence of his own rocking hips against your face.
You let out a muffled groan when his legs clamped around your head. The vibrations sent him careening over the edge as his back arched up into a beautiful curve. He spasmed around your tongue, mouth open in a beautiful mewl as you did your best to nurse him through it.
You pulled away from him, lips stained with slick and a different drunken haze in your eyes. You smiled as you watched him catch his breath. You wiped his release off your hand on the comforter of your bed, moving up again to hold his hands. Both of you were panting, one from a lack of oxygen, the other to catch their breath while they were coming down from the clouds above.
You smiled wide at him, obviously very proud of your work. "How was it? I didn't disappoint, did I?"
He closed his eyes as an embarrassed flush washed over his face. Chest still heaving as he did his best to breathe, he muttered out a quick, "Virgin my ass."
You chuckled against his skin, kissing his cheek. "Do you want to keep going? We can call it a night from here."
He shook his head, "No, I'm still good to go as long as you are."
You nodded, "Would you want to keep going in this position or is there another one you have in mind that might be more comfortable for you?"
He seemed to think for a minute, finally settling on one of the thoughts flying around his head. "I guess I've got something in mind."
Tumblr media
"Oh fuck- Right, Right there-"
You stroked his sides lovingly, angling yourself to hit the same spot over and over again. Though, it wasn't as though you had much say in it.
You gave a particularly loud grunt when Scar let himself sink the entire way down, his thighs all but giving out on him as he tried to keep on going. There was sweat dripping down his entire body as he tried to pick himself back up, but he realized pretty shortly after that there really was no hope for him.
From his position on top, he leaned down to get a sweet taste of your lips and the remnants of liquor from your tongue. Pleasant sensations racked his body as you picked up his hips with your hands and brought him back down. He moaned into the kiss, his hands scrunching up into fists against your own sweat stained chest. He pulled away shortly after, chest rising and falling rather quickly. Sweetly, he requested, "A little help?"
You nodded, just barely out of it. You hooked your arms underneath his knees, pushing him softly onto his back. He molded into a curve, all but drooling at the tingles that exploded all over from the sudden shift in position. If that wasn't enough, it seemed you pressed even harder into his cervix and his stomach when you hiked his legs up over your shoulders. You ground your pelvis into his for a short second, but if felt like ages with the aftershocks wreaking havoc on Scar's poor brain.
You pulled out just halfway before easing your way back in, basking in the warmth that was the soft groan passing from Scar's lips. You repeated the same motion again, leaning down just like your partner did to paint his shoulders in your little marks. With the mix of shy ecstasy coursing through his body and a taste of your mouth on his skin, it felt like Scar was high on some kind of newly invented drug.
You shifted a little before moving your hips again, pulling out just enough to leave only the tip of your dick inside before slamming in to the hilt. "Right there?"
His jaw dropped in a silent scream, clamping down on you extremely lewdly. His eyes fluttered shut as the noise trapped in his throat escaped in a shaky call of your name again. He nodded his head quickly upon finally registering your question. "Just like that- Ah fuck! That was absolutely perfect."
He waited in anticipation as the slow drag of your erection in his walls sent another wave of pleasure careening through his nervous system, all but toppled by the sudden crash of your pelvis against his ass again. He let out a groan, only complimented by the sounds of your lips suctioning to his collarbone.
You started to set your pace, just a little faster than he'd been while he'd been riding. It wasn't much, but it seemed to be just enough to edge him closer to the finish line. His intestines tied themselves into a knot all while it felt like you were boring a hole into his uterus.
Despite all his act for being a big bad overseer while he was on the job, while he was in your bed, in your arms with his knees pushed up to his shoulders, he turned into a soft-hearted crybaby. He could feel your pace pick up as you twitched inside of him. The caress of your dick inside of him only made the knot in his intestines get tighter as he struggled to breath properly.
Usually, he was quick with his retorts and quips. He could only listen as they were reduced to nothing but throaty whines of you name and begging for more, sweet noises that melded with the creaking and slamming of your headboard against the wall.
He held onto your shoulders in a death grip, palms pressed flat against your boiling hot skin right next to his own legs. His nails curled into your shoulder blades, leaving delectable little red lines in a sweet mark of ownership.
"Shit, shit-" He clamped down around you again, chest pressing further against yours when your fingers came to draw messy circles on his clit. Hiding his face under your chin, he couldn't help the string of curses that dripped past his lips like honey. "Ohouh Fuck~ Shit~ Ahahn~"
Tears that'd been brewing for the past half hour the two of you had tumbled around in the sheets started to flow down his cheeks. The onslaught of euphoria all over his body sent his mouth flying open as he finally spasmed around your cock, walls fluttering like a vice.
This time, it was your turn to swear as you did your best to fight against the suction of his slit. You pulled out just barely in time to cum on his stomach.
The two of you did your best to catch your breath as you unhooked his legs from your shoulders, basically collapsing next to him on the bed like a boulder. He couldn't help the urge to nuzzle himself up to your side, only further encouraged when you wrapped a lazy arm around him and pulled him in closer.
He hid his face against the sweaty skin of your stomach. He curled into a little ball, suddenly very aware of the air that the two of you had previously been warming up. Luckily, it seemed you had a built in radar for his needs. Quickly and silently coming to the rescue, you dropped one of your fluffier blankets on top of him.
He pulled it around his shoulders gratefully before going back to basking in the warmth of the skin on your tummy. You sleepily tousled his hair before finally sitting up with a grunt.
He perked up immediately, automatically a little upset that you were already going to leave. "Where are you going?"
You yawned, "I'm going to go fill up the bathtub. " You snickered at him before playfully flicking his forehead, "Did you think I was going to bed feeling like a sweat monster?"
Tumblr media
"No welcome home?"
Automatically, your head shot up from where you were bent over checking in some of your droopier crops.
In front of you stood your boyfriend of a year in all of his bright-red glory. Just as quickly as you registered that he'd actually come home after being gone for a few weeks, your face brightened up.
No later than that, you were scrambling to your feet and breaking out into a sprint towards him. The dirt crunching under your feet and the crops you were running through be damned, the moment you reached him, your mud-caked arms were around his red uniform to lift him up into the air.
His usual boisterous laugh ripped through the air as the clouds behind his head swirled into some amalgam of white you couldn't be bothered with. "I didn't expect you home for another week!"
He nodded, planting a wet kiss on your cheek just to hear the same laughter rattle from your own chest. "I just couldn't wait to see you again." The same lovestruck puppy eyes were all he could see before suddenly he was attacked with a flurry of lips attached to every square inch of his face.
He let you lavish him in all your pent up love graciously, a satisfied purr rumbling in his throat. Soon enough, you planted a long, lingering kiss on his lips, wrapping him up snug in your arms. You rested your chin on top of his head, secretly amused with the way he leaned forward to accommodate you.
Life wasn't always easy for the two of you, especially since the two of you had a rather unconventional relationship, but life was sweet.
He usually left for long periods of time on missions, he also did his best to stay away right after missions for fear of accidentally leading someone with less than pure intentions to your home. But every moment he had some time off to spend with you, he made the most of it.
By now, he'd also already told you of his mission with the Fractcidus. While you certainly didn't approve, you also conceded you didn't know enough about the political state of the Huanglong or Jinzhou to really judge him. Not only that, you really didn't have all the relevant information you believed would be needed to draw an informed conclusion on what exactly prompted his realization.
So, instead of breaking up with him for being a "monster", you just told him to be safe and you yourself kept out of his work related matters.
Perfect, right?
Well... almost.
Sometimes, staying away from home didn't exactly stop any weirdos from trying to sneak up on him in your house in the dead of night. Only to find a very cranky, very protective farmer with a Tacet Mark and enough pent up anger to fuel the capital.
If Scar just so happened to come home to see you dragging a body to the town medic, he couldn't exactly help the little rush of pride that washed over him. But most importantly, it brought him comfort to know that you were more than capable of protecting yourself when he was away from home.
The thing he had been most scared of when he first thought over his feelings was losing you. He didn't want to lose you to a dangerous life as one of the many Fractcidus Overseers working to achieve their end goal, he didn't want to lose you to your own differing moral values, and most of all, he didn't want to lose you because of his own risky life decisions that frankly didn't have anything to do with you.
The peace of mind that came with watching you, in your pajamas, lug an unconscious intruder to Old Man Runchu's shack in the morning after you'd woken and found them still knocked out in the kitchen was more than he could ask for. It also showcased your especially kind heart, being unwilling to truly injure someone who was intent on either killing or kidnapping you.
Especially cause if Scar was there, little more than their Skeleton would be left.
But that was a different matter all together.
He laced his fingers with yours, swinging both of your arms at your side. "What do you say we go to Miss Chunhua's stall for some Milky Fish Soup that you love so much?"
Immediately you picked up your chin from the crown of his head to plant a big wet sloppy kiss on his forehead, "You see honey, this is why I love you."

I played Jiyan's quest today and I can't stop thinking about being Yandere!Jiyan's dirty little secret...
[Warning: Yandere, Sexual Content (dub-con), Dragon Behavior (a little bit like fangs, biting and snarling), Mention of war and all that comes with it, Stockholm Syndrom Reader]
Everyone got one of those, right? Some people overindulge in sweets, and some gamble 'just one more game' while their pockets are empty. But for someone like Jiyan, who is seen as great and respectable in the public eyes—a person who can do no wrong—it's you.
You are the dirtiest secret one could hope to never uncover behind the beloved general. It would be hard to turn a blind eye to your situation, so he does his very best so that no one finds out about it. You are only destined for his eyes, a splendid gift of Jué for sure. Why else would your paths have crossed, your fates intertwining as cruelly yet beautifully as they did?
You are hidden away in his mansion, locked up, and put through a very different hell than what he goes through. He loves you; he really does. That's why you can't leave. Never. You're the one thing that keeps him grounded in this world, the last spark of hope that keeps his sanity from accidentally killing himself on the battlefield as he realizes there's nothing more to fight for.
Jiyan doesn't return to his mansion to live in splendor and the luxuries of life. He only comes home to you.
You are not a willing participant in this secret of his. Not even the few servants he permits around him know of you. Everything must be under wraps and he used his salary as a general wisely to build you a palace that can house his madness in a beautifully twisted way. It's an illusion of the outside world, with technology and science providing the idea of being a little less captured and a little more free. And Jiyan doesn't regret spending every penny to keep up the illusion of being your lover, not your captor.
This way, he can ensure your safety and well-being far away from other people despite him being outside, fighting dangerous threats, and risking his life daily. He can ensure that you'll be fed and entertained for a long time after his death, and no one finding out long after your passing either. But he doesn't even think of this possibility. Not when he's the only one you can cling to.
Being isolated does something to one's psyche, and that's the one thing Jiyan cannot improve for you—and at this point, he doesn't want to anymore. Everyone outside the underground palace is a foe when it comes to you. They'd try to take you away from him. And after just shy of a couple of years of being imprisoned, he finally has you broken down enough that you won't fight his love constantly anymore.
Instead, you walk up to him as he finally returns, weeks having turned into months. But with no one else to give you attention and love, you open your arms to him, worn-out and bloody as he is. Your body is tense and wary, with a frown on your face, but when he moves forward, so are you. Both of you are so desperate for what only the other can give.
You let him sack into your embrace and allow him to reciprocate your hug, always just a little too tight for your comfort. It feels revolting to hold him even after all this time. Still, you claw your fingers into his clothes as if he were going to disappear again any second. He reeks of sweat, blood, and dirt, but you tolerate it, and he is ever so thankful for you loosening his hair tie and combing through his hair. It's the end of stress and despair for Jiyan. You are ringing in the peace into his life, and he wants to stay like this forever, but another part is threatening to take him over.
He had to hold back for so long, yearning and exercising patience. Now, the beast inside of him is starving.
He can't help but lose his composure a little, burying his face in your chest and smelling you like an animal. His snarls reverberate throughout your whole body, like the purrs of a cat, the need for you building rapidly inside of him. Fangs protrude from his lips as he drags them over your shoulder, searching for the taut skin above your collarbone to sink them into you. Your blood tastes sweet and exciting instead of the bitter and impure blood on his lips whenever he worries them in the barracks, thinking of you. You squirm, complain, wiggle—a part of you still resisting. But if he wants to have a taste of you, then there's nothing you can do unless you want him to accidentally rip your throat out. He's proving you're real—not another damn hallucination—and he licks up the wounds with fervor, knowing you are alive and well after having your taste spread over his tongue.
Jiyan loves the pouty look on your face when he topples you over, catching your arms with his hands. He chuckles as you resist vainly, his grip leaving the prettiest of bracelets made of bruises on your wrists. The last ones have already faded and tears well up in your eyes as he replaces them dutifully. He knows you don't want to spread your legs for him, your body resisting that until the bitter end, so he picks you up instead, carrying you to the bath to ease the tension you're feeling. He needs it, too, and Jiyan licks his lips as the sweet release of all his pent-up feelings draws near.
Your moans resemble a song of healing as they echo through the bathroom, filling the space with all the love and adoration he gives you. Jiyan worships the way your body twists in his grip, tightens around his cock, and lets him know the extent of how good he is making you feel. His thrust may be harsh, and your mouth may be begging for him to stop mistreating both your lips and body as he mauls you like a Spearback, water splashing everywhere as you two get rowdy in the bath, but you can't resist orgasm after orgasm shaking through you, your belly full of his warm seed. It takes a while to satiate Jiyan, but just like you took care of him when he returned, he washes your exhausted body afterward and takes you to bed to pepper you in kisses and to stroke you some more until you are a bawling, beautiful mess coming completely undone in front of him. There need to be no secrets, no shame between you two, and your beauty is unrivaled, especially after seeing you again after so many nights imagining this very sight in front of him.
It solidifies his life's worth when he can watch you sleep, bundled up and frowning since you are so sore. He wipes the tears from your face as you have nightmares of being alone and being with Jiyan. But hearing you say his name in your sleep—regardless in which context—is enough for him to finally settle into the soft pillows too. One arm around you, the other one for you to rest your head on. Because just like you'll never escape this prison, Jiyan won't let you be anywhere but next to him as long as he's home.
He falls asleep with dreams of domesticity. Cooking with you, feeding you dessert, taking walks in a park he'll never take you to. Massaging you, sharing your woes, and cuddling in front of the fireplace. A life he will never ever have with you, but which has kept him from death so many times. Knowing you were at home, waiting for him, angry, pouty, trying to scratch his eyes out, but you were safe and healthy, saved him from the despair of losing everyone he ever cared about in this cruel war. Your blood reminds him of life rather than death, and the warmth of your body in his arms is the comfort he needs after the endless cold nights outside of this dream he built for you.
So Jiyan doesn't even think about everything of yours that he sacrificed to get to this point. You'll be his dirty little secret forever, and he'll make sure of it no matter how many discords or people he has to kill or how much he needs to break you to make this possible. He can't continue living like the hero people make him out to be if he can't have you to compensate for his madness. Isn't it a fair price? Jiyan wouldn't know what to do with all the despair and anguish if he couldn't turn it into love. Jiyan isn't sure he could stop himself from and fight against becoming what he fears most—a mad monster.
He has yet to realize that, beneath his mansion, sleeping peacefully next to you, he has long lost that battle.
But it's his dirty little secret no one on the outside needs to know.

dragon! jiyan
Content: Established relationship, rut, half-dragon, non-human anatomy (dragon's you know...) + unrealistic, breeding kink, overstimulation, female reader.
Note: I know he's like... kind of a dragon?? So yeah. As always, non proof-reader. Wish I could write for longer cause I love when there are lots of positions and stuff but my brain gets dry :(
Tumblr media
You had already noticed something these last weeks Jiyan had been acting weird, always dodging you, somehow losing him even when he was there just a few seconds ago. At first this whole situation made you chuckle a little, looking just a child's game, but as he started to avoid you even despite you both lived together, you decided to put an end to this dumb game, quickly rushing to him and trapping him between your body and the wall. His face was already a bit flushed, eyes avoiding your gaze as he tried to move you without putting too much of his force, before he was able to say anything you complained: "What's going on? You've been avoiding me for several weeks!" Jiyan's face flushed, looking a bit sorry about it, despite that, he kept trying to squirm from your little prison, you decided to close your distance even more, causing him to get even closer to the wall.
"Could you stop squirming and just tell me what's wrong? Are you mad?" he quickly denied it, still trying to run away nevertheless. His face was getting far too red, hands shaking from God knows why. Finally, his mouth opened, finally breathing, your sweet smell filling his lungs, his eyes suddenly turning a bit more like those of a dragon.
"I'm sorry... I've been trying so hard to avoid you because I'm close to my... uhm special time, I get a bit...agressive during it and I really don't want to hurt you, dear." Your laugh almost escaped, was he that scared about hurting you? You smiled, quickly stealing a kiss from him, you thought it was because of something you had done, that was a relief. You got away, finally feeling happy. Just as you were about to get back to your routine, his hands gripped your wrist, quickly pushing towards him and switching positions with him.
"Hey, I just warned you, are you trying to push my buttons?" His expression had darkened, eyes blurry and mouth half-open, his breath a bit shaky. You tried to explain it to him that it was simply because you finally knew the reason why he was avoiding you, but it was useless, as he started to move his hands through your body, kissing your neck while whispering to your ear: "Do you want me to make you my mate that bad? Get you all nice and full... you would look so so pretty like that... Make you my little housewife, waiting for me all pretty... Oh I would love that..." When did he learn to say all those filthy things? Jiyan had never been that bold, even despite you had been together for quite some time now. You were too stunned to even realize how he had took you, carrying you swiftly and laying you on the bed. He took off his shirt, throwing it around and soon returning to being on top of you. "You look so pretty baby, so so pretty, all flushed and ready for me, right?" His eyes were dangerous, his hands kept playing with your nipples over the clothes, still not getting rid of any of your clothes. He kept teasing you, caressing your soft tits over the shirt while "accidentally" brushing over your clothed cunt, smiling as he saw your face flushed.
"I guess I won't be needing those damn neutralizers anymore." Without giving you time to think, he quickly got rid of some kind of choker he had been wearing for the last few weeks, a strong smell of medicinal herbs spreading all through the room, making your brain a bit fuzzy. He wasted no time, kissing your pretty lips while he got rid of your clothes, trying as hard as possible to not rip them apart. "I'm sorry baby, I'm at my limit, but my rut will help you to get ready for taking me without pain." By the time he ended saying that, his dick was already out, but something was different, and as he moved closer you finally realized it. There was not one but two, both completely erected and with their tip red, prominent veins over them. Just as you were about to complain, his voice, now much deeper than usual stopped you "Don't worry, I won't give both to you, we should go slowly, I don't want to break you." Before getting on top of you, he lifted you, carefully laying you with your tummy down, one pillow supporting your lower back. Just as soon as he got you as he wanted, his frame towered over you, his hot breath hitting your ear.
"Gonna enter baby, make sure to be ready." He wrapped his hands over your hands, his calloused hands letting you know he was there. You started to feel him entering, the stretching making you squirm a little, moans leaving your lips while your hands gripped the sheets.
It took a few minutes before he finally got his whole thing inside you, his tip almost hitting your cervix, he stopped there for a moment, peppering kisses all over your back while his hands were close to ripping the sheets. "You feel so good baby, I'm gonna start to move yeah?" As soon as he saw your nodding, he started to move painfully slow, making you feel as if you were about to pass out. Finally, after a few minutes you had already gotten used to the size, your belly bulging each time he moved a bit too fast, eyes rolling to your skull as he kept pushing you against the mattress almost making you cum at the moment. As he kept breaking you, his patience was wearing thin, suddenly lifting you from the bed and turning you to face him.
"I... I just missed seeing your face, plus I can't kiss your pretty lips." As he babbled his reasons, he kept rutting against you, making your brain melt at the spot, his lips kissing yours as his hands wrapped against yours, making you unable to move. As he kissed you, one of his hands drifted down your body, starting to rub your clit with his rough fingertips and making you cry out his name. No matter how much you plead and begged him to slow down he kept doing it, playing with your pretty pussy while he was stuffing you full.
"Baby, I'm gonna cum inside you, gonna get you full of my seed, I'll make you my pretty wife, get you everything you want, yeah? Gonna be such a good husband for you baby." Your nails digging on his skin as you came undone, saliva dripping down your lips and your pretty cunt dripping with his cum. He smiled at the sight, your pretty face was completely ruined, lips shiny from his own saliva, and his seed seeping out of your insides. He took care of your body, thoroughly cleaning both of your bodies and then drying them, getting both of you to the sofa and letting you sleep over his chest.

Hi!! Can I request Jiyan from Wuwa with a scary reader? I mean, the other Midnight Rangers might be scared of the reader because of her/his constant smile in ABSOLUTELY any situation
Tumblr media
Jiyan x scary reader
scary!malereader x Jiyan, fluff;
Bruh I got 4 request for Jiyan on the same day (02.10) and I am absolutely excited and terrified at the same time. Imma write everything at some point, but uni has started so it can take a while. Thanks a lot anon! Hope it's acceptable
M/N was definitely a special figure in the ranks of Midnight Rangers. Although he didn't hold the highest position and wasn't making the most important decisions, his name was known to everyone. And it brought a real fear among the Midnight Rangers.
But what's quite surprising, all this terror wasn't caused by his strength, outstanding achievements on battlefield, demanding nature or nasty character. No, M/N was a total opposite of cocky, narcissistic or mean. He was just-... kind. Too kind.
And as ridiculous as it may sound, everyone who screwed something up, always begged deep inside that their punishment wouldn't be handled by M/N. Even general himself, who mustered up a demanding manner in face of crisis, seemed like much safer option than you and your legendary approach.
Rumor had it that one day, many years ago, when a military traitor was brought back to the camp, cries of suffering had no end. Witnesses mentioned a small, shabby building, set far from a center of base. That's where the man, who betrayed entire army by leading them into a trap and taking their lives, got placed. Bitter soldiers - victims who lost they family, friends, disciples - visited this place numerous times. And although, eventually, traitor survived and lived to see a fair sentence, it all didn't go without bruises.
In order to keep military self-judgment from being too harsh someone had to guard a traitor. Several of youngest recruits were assigned to do this task. One of them was M/N. Many were worried about how this gruesome sights might affect such a young man, with an optimistic approach to life. Who always burst with positive energy and found advantages in every situation, even the worst.
However, all fears died when they saw a face of M/N, crossing the doorstep of a building. Smile adorned his face.
Anxiety was born.
For the record, there was also a moment when more than one person fought for general's heart and favor. And not every candidate was fair in their actions. Even though it was already known behind the scenes that Jiyan and M/N had a thing for each other and that they were forming a relationship, someone was shameless enough to interfere in that.
Intruder's ploys were extremely nasty. Especially when looking at M/N's vulnerability, due to the fact that both partners were still young and not ranked high enough to be able to reveal themselves in front of military authorities.
However, it was hard to tell what was more shocking. Intruder's actions or M/N's reaction.
Because to everything, M/N responded in one only way:
Intruder “accidentally” poured hot soup on M/N?
Smile.
Intruder questioned M/N's abilities and brought up his fails?
Smile.
Intruder claimed that he would be a better partner for Jiyan?
Smile.
Intruder allowed himself for too much in a bar and grabbed Jiyan at the end of his back?
Smile.
And leave intruder with a twisted arm. But, that's a topic for another story.
Whatever happened one thing was certain. No matter how much it annoyed M/N, upset or made him angry, M/N still managed to react with a smile. And that's precisely what was most horrifying about him.
That big, wide smile combined with blank eyes. Sight that gave chills.
Belive me when I tell you that in the whole Midnight Rangers there was no one more scary than M/N. If new generations of soldiers had children in the future, they would definitely scare them with frightening stories about M/N.
Despite the fact that M/N was only one of many coaches in army, it was hard to find a person more respected. Even if this respest was brought by fear… After all, in order to submit, the most rebellious soldiers needed something more than admiration towards the great Jiyan.
Like in the past, todays also, M/N's dark aura was working wonders.
It was truly naive to think that anyone could avoid training with M/N by lies.
Two skinny boys shook with fright as they saw at whom they had just bumped into. Panicked, they were shifting their gaze from one to another.
-Oh boys. Where are you running like that? - you asked with fake confusion - Didn't our training begin just a minute ago?
Your disciples swallowed their saliva with a big difficulty. What were you doing here?! Weren't you supposed to be with the rest?
-Ah right! -you started with excitement, almost as if you had just recalled something- Your teammates reported that you were bedridden sick.
Youngest began to stutter.
-But wait! This isn't a bed, is it?
Boys could barely stand the tension. Whole lives flew before their eyes. And all possible punishments they could receive for insubordination. Starting with bathroom cleaning, month's service as kitchen help, plenty of extra push-ups or worst of all... individual hand-to-hand combat training with M/N himself… not even to mention about reporting to top units.
But instead of hearing a stern reprimand or punishment, M/N blessed them with nothing else than a smile. Beaming, barely natural.
Recruits' knees softened under your murderous, almost insane stare. Controlled by anxiety, they quickly bent in half, heads almost reaching the ground. Hysterical apologies and pleas for mercy reached your ears.
You frowned at this and tilted your head slightly to the side, truly amazed.
Tumblr media
-Jiiiyaaan - miserable, you cried out your partner's name and he turned towards you with curiosity.
Without much delaying, you snuggled into your sitting partner's back.
-I think that they don't like me...
You announced with a pouty face and hid your head in the crook of his neck. Jiyan stroked your hair with affection.
-Who do you mean?
-Everyone
You broke down more and squeezed your boyfriend tighter. Frustration in your voice contrasted significantly with Jiyan's deep calmness.
Jiyan bit his lip slightly. He quickly recalled his conversation with Ningwei from the past.
They were sitting in a military bar at the time. Though late hour made all the other soldiers return to their bunks, it was also an ideal opportunity to reveal a few secrets in a honest talk.
Jiyan wasn't first to start topic like that. He didn't feel a need to inform everyone about his relationship status. It was your private business. And if anyone really wanted to know about it, they could figure it out by themselves. In the end, after many years of knowing each other and being in relationship, you two became more and more bold in displaying your feelings for each other. Or rather more reckless… Without even knowing, you started to share scraps of your routine with world outside of your abode. Some began to notice that two of you had something more in common than just a simple friendship. But no one had the courage to say it out loud.
Except for Ningwei. His personality and history with Jiyan allowed him to do more. Besides, he was worried about his captain. And he wasn't the only one. Everyone in crew was concerned, even just by your close "friendship". They were anxious about leaving their beloved general alone with you. Jiyan was such a good person. Always caring for others and putting they well-being above his own. He made sure that soldiers lived in good conditions,. Tried to send them on leave as often as possible. And never failed to extend a helping hand to any victim who lost their home in the fires of battle.
They feared that in his generosity, Jiyan might be naive, forcibly seeking kindness hidden in others. In their blind imagination, they felt as if they were leaving a helpless lamb to be devoured by a big, scary wolf.
-You nad M/N... are you- are you sure about?
Jiyan tilted his head slightly to the side and sent him a questioning look.
-Are you sure that you two are a good match? You know, M/N is-… he is- he's-…. -though it never happened to Ningwei, this time he couldn't get words out of his mouth. He was too afraid of Jiyan's reaction. He didn't know how Jiyan could respond to bad words about a person most important to him. Or rather, Ningwei knew. Tragically. Not in Jiyan's peaceful way.
Ningwei slowly sank down into his chair under Jiyan's gaze. Suddenly, a predatory side of general, usually revealed only in heat of a battle, became more and more real.
-...scary?
He finally finished, without much confidence, and Jiyan only furrowed his eyebrows more. He didn't quite understand what Ningwei meant. Were they really talking about the same loving M/N? This man was smiling even when others did him wrong. When they accidentally tore his jacket or forget about a gift for him.
Jiyan also recalled that one situation in the bar.
When that one soldier…, Jiyan couldn't really remember his name, got a little too close to him.
At first Jiyan didn't think too much of it. But when he felt a touch on his back, in a place meant only for you, he immediately tensed up.
You responded almost instantly. Before Jiyan had a chance to do anything, you were already by his side, grabbing stranger's wrist in an iron grip. You gritted your teeth and sent intruder a deadly glare. Man hurriedly straightened up and took a few steps back. But it was too late. A frantic smile crossed your face.
And although a whole bar had to separate you (including a panicked Jiyan), at the time, general was feeling oddly proud of his caring partner.
-I am sure that they like you very much... Maybe they are just only a little-… - he wanted to add a word “afraid” but eventually he bit his tongue and didn't finish.
He didn't want to make you upset. He himself didn't know if you did it on purpose or unintentionally. Whether it was just your act. Way to gain respect. Desire to make fun of squad. Or perhaps simple innocence in attempt to show kindness by most obvious gesture - smile.
After all, in private of his company you were a completely different person. You treated him like a real treasure. Spoiling him and being the sweetest boyfriend possible.
Jiyan truly couldn't understand what they all were talking about.

🐉 Jiyan x F!Rover 🐉 Dragon's Faith
Rover stood by Jiyan’s side, her body tense and nervous. She wasn’t nervous due to simply being in close proximity to him, as they were both well adjusted to each other’s presence. This time around, however, things were far more properly structured than a battle on the fly or a casual hangout. She tried her best to look imposing and refined, as a Resonator of her caliber theoretically would be, but she couldn’t free herself of the nerves still bothering her.
Just how does he do it? she thought, looking at Jiyan. He’s so noble and imposing, yet it all came to him naturally. I don’t even know who I am, let alone the minute details of how I’m supposed to present myself.
Imposing glare. Straight posture. As still as a rock. Jiyan made it look easy. Whenever Rover took a deep breath to try and steady herself, she only succeeded in making herself look like a paranoid chicken. She could not figure out why she all of a sudden felt so on edge.
Jiyan, though focused on supervising the soldiers as they practiced, noticed Rover’s poorly hidden anxiety out of the corner of his eye. He put his hand on her shoulder in an attempt to gently get her attention, but she jolted out of her skin.
"I apologize, but I did not mean to startle you," Jiyan said. "You seem awfully tense, is something the matter?"
"No. I’m perfectly fine. I think," Rover said, taking a deep, shaky breath.
She was not fine. Rover felt as if Jiyan was silently judging her down to each individual breath. She even felt as if she was incorrectly using her own two feet to stand.
"Are you a little nervous?" he asked.
"Me? Nervous? I’m absolutely fine," she spat out.
"There’s no reason to lie. I can see you practically trembling in your boots."
"...Okay, maybe I am a little nervous. But can you blame me? I’ve never had to stand in front of a well-respected army before. I think."
Jiyan gave Rover a reassuring rub on her shoulder.
"Relax. You hardly need not worry about supervision as I call most of the shots here."
"But what if I’m, oh I don’t know, standing improperly?"
"…Standing improperly? I don’t believe there is such a thing as that. Your posture is fine and you are acting respectfully, if that is what you are concerned about.”
"Er…not exactly. You make everything look effortless, and it makes me wonder if I should even be standing on the same level as you."
"Of course you are. If it weren’t for you, we wouldn’t have been able to fend off the onslaught. Cut yourself some slack, my love."
"It’s one thing for us to unwind together in private, but you’re a completely different person while in command of your troops. I can’t help but feel intimidated."
Jiyan glanced to his side and gave her a reassuring smile. Although he had to keep an eye on his troops as they trained, he could spare a few brief seconds for Rover. She was just as important to him as any individual force. Perhaps Jiyan would consider her to be even more important, but he was in no position to be playing favorites.
"I don’t even feel worthy enough to be with you,” she continued.
"This theoretical concept of worth you speak of is of no concern to me. I’ve been rather fond of you since the time we first met."
Rover tilted her head. "Really?"
"Indeed so. Even if you were not as incredible as you have proven yourself to be, I still would love you dearly regardless. Besides, we’ve endured literal hell side by side together. I have more than enough of a reason to have complete faith in you."
Rover took a deep breath and once more attempted to steady herself. Jiyan was rather insistent that she was fine, and that she had no reason to be so self-conscious. Still, she could not shake the nagging feeling that she was out of place standing next to the general.
Jiyan pulled Rover in close and rubbed her side in an attempt to soothe her further.
“Relax,” Jiyan said, softly looking at Rover. “Unnecessary stress is detrimental to your health."
Rover looked over at him and nodded her head in acknowledgement. She knew that she would have to relax, but that was far easier said than done. Jiyan lifted his hand away from her shoulder and kept it still as Rover noticed a green Loong manifesting from behind him and coiling down his outstretched arm. He held out his hand as it slithered past his palm and gazed at Rover, tail still wrapped around his lower arm. She could feel her anxiety increasing once again, as now she had the general’s Loong watching her every move.
"It’s not just my trust you have," Jiyan said.
The Loong nudged Rover’s shoulder, like a cat headbutting its beloved owner. Her arms remained tense, despite how gentle each nudge was. It was kind of adorable, and Rover did want to pet it, but she held still and stared at it nervously out of fear of accidentally disturbing it.
"Go on," he said, "I know you want to."
Rover held out the palm of her hand, reluctantly inviting the Loong to slither into it. It looped around her arm once, still remaining somewhat wrapped around Jiyan, then rested its head in her hand. She scratched the underside of it gently, and it quickly melted into her hold.
"See? Nothing to worry about, love."
The Loong slithered in the air around her, and Rover kept her hand held out. It coiled completely around her arm and nudged its head into Rover’s open palm. Despite her ever-present nerves, it strangely seemed to be soothed by her presence. In fact, it almost seemed fully trusting of her.
"It… seems friendly," Rover noted, still wary.
"Of course it is. Why wouldn’t it be?"
"I guess if you’re truthfully fond of me, then I’m not sure, actually."
Jiyan’s companion continued nuzzling against her hand, making a sound as close to a purr as a small beast could manage. If even his Loong trusted her, then she ultimately had no reason to be so tense around him, even if it did take a little bit for her to force herself to calm down. After a few headbutts to her palm, the Loong dissipated, and Jiyan smiled and nodded with approval.
"You’re overthinking. Deep breaths, and soon you’ll be leading the troops right by my side."
"Y-yes sir," she said.
Jiyan squinted his eyes at her.
"I mean, yes, Jiyan."
"Much better."

Tumblr media
Death crawls through the midnight blue washed streets of the Jinzhou, its flaky claws seeking and scratching. And seek out their victim it did. Found in a cozy bed that reeked of illness and herbal medicine. Ashes of incense laid on top of a long wooden tray fashioned in the looks of a dragon.
There were more dragon motifs sprawled around, in the embroidery of the blankets, on the painting, on tea cups and jewelry, but not one of those could protect the one confined within the bed and the one forever gone. Pale skin glistened with the remnants of sweat and water they were bathed in, and their hair smelled of old flowers in summer heat, and it was only going to get worse should they remain here, hand held by the person closest to them.
Jiyan. The General. The Qingloong. The medic in his youth. Their brother.
He had returned from the front lines at long last for a short reprieve, only to find his beloved sibling in a worse state than last time. It horrified him even more than the sights he encountered in war, and it shook him to the core. What’s worse, he could smell death waiting at the front door, and entering behind his heel after he went into the bedroom..
His hands gingerly held onto their cold hand, knuckles pressed against his forehead as he remains quiet, foolishly hoping warmth would spring to their skin and they’d greet him with a ruffle to his hair and call him silly for worrying so much. He swallows thickly, cheeks wet from the trail his tears left behind and he breathes out a breath so heavy, one would question how the world didn’t cave in where he sat.
“I love you…so much..” he whispers before lifting his head up, eyes fluttering shut to spare himself the sight of their forever slumbering face, his lips lingering on their knuckles in expression of love they’d never feel again.
They didn’t share just blood, they shared their childhood years, interests, and they shared their mother’s womb together. Their bond was one closer than any other, yet it was severed all the same as any other.
“I miss you…”
Even with all the knowledge Jiyan could’ve plucked from Jinzhou and from the outside nations, all various medical practices and all kinds of healers, Jiyan couldn’t save them.
Maybe in another life he saves them, but in this one he gets to carry their memories until his own demise, forever haunted by their absence.
