Lani Asher is artist in residence at the Wurlitzer Foundation. Lani creates amazing paper-based collages. She describes her work as “paper-based collages constructed with photographs, painting, and drawings, joined together on the reverse side with rice paper and glue. I build up the delicate surfaces with layers of paint, pencil and rice paper, giving the collages a tactile and sculptural dimension. Arrived at Wurlitzer Foundation Tuesday and settled into Casita 1 for my three-month artist residency. I sighted baby bear outside my casita window this morning.
