God knows how long you've been standing there waiting for your date to come.. 15 min? No, it has been whole 47 min. You've been talking to him for a month now after matching with him on tinder... if it wasn't for how sweet he is, you would have left already. You looked at your phone screen once again.

"Y/N!" You heard a manly voice call your name as you turned around, there he was... Gosh was he so handsome. Maybe the wait was worth it all. Before you could say anything he engulfed you in a hug. You could smell his cologne and boy was it driving you crazy. Maybe it's just you never being in a relationship or feeling a touch of a man... anyways you pushed those thoughts besides and greeted him back.

"Hi.... Leon" you couldn't take your eyes off of him.

"Sorry for the wait, Y/N... but I must say you look stunning tonight" Of course, he was just how he I through texts... and you couldn't help but blush. You bit your lip and smiled at him.

"Why thank you, Leon. I must say you look just as handsome as your pics..." You said to him but you knew he looked way more handsome in real life. He smirked at your compliment and turned around, pulling up his elbow for you to hold him. 'Too bold for me...' you thought but regardless, went along with him.

"What made you so late?" You asked him while you both were walking to the restaurant. The question seemed to have caught him off gaurd but he regained his posture immediately, not letting you doubt even a single thing.

"Just got caught up in.... some work. My apologies" He said sincerely. You nodded accepting this as your answer but you were curious.. he had never mentioned about his work during all those conversations. Only changing the topic. You wanted to ask him again today what he did as work.

Leon was a gentleman, opening the door for you, pulling out the chair for you to seat, or maybe it was all bare minimum. One thing was for sure... there was something about him that made you curious. Whether it was his mysterious personality or that he barely talked about himself. People would have taken this as red flag but you being you ws attracted to all of this.

"What would you like-"

You jumped on your seat as you saw the glass shatter behind Leon. It took you a minute to understand what was going on but there were people with weapons walking in.... and from what it looked like. They were heading your way.

Leon immediately grabbed your wrist and dragged you to to crouch under table. Making sure they couldn't see you. You were still in shock but obeyed whatever he was doing. He put his finger over his lips and gestured you to be quiet, to which you nodded. You gulped out of fear, as your vision and hands were shaking from panick and fear.

"Do as I say okay my love?" He cupped your cheek as you nodded looking into his eyes.... he didn't seem scared or panicking. He once again held your wrist and you both walked over to behind the counter while still crouching.

You could see the criminals grabbing the collar of the restaurant owner and threatening him to tell him about someone's whereabouts... you wondered who. You turned your head around to focus on leon again. After you both reached the kitchen, you both stood up and you decided it was the right time to ask him.

"What the actual fuck just happened?!" You whisper shouted at him.

"I don't know..." He said but you wondered if he was telling you the truth, but right now you decided to believe him. You both heard the loud and heavy footsteps walking towards you, so you did what you had to do and ran out of the back door along with leon.

You both ran and ran till you reached far enough to lose sight of them. You put hand over your chest as you were breathing heavily to check if your heart was about to jump out of your chest or not..

"Follow me" Leon ordered as you walked behind him. He seemed serious so you just shut your mouth and followed behind him but the side eye you were giving him was enough to tell that you had several doubts about him. He stopped in front of his car and opened the passenger seat, gesturing you to get in.

"You're still a stranger..." You said. No, you whispered under your breathe which he heard.

"Trust me Y/N I would never harm you" you gulped and nodded... were you getting kidnapped? Boy telling about this to cops would be embarassing. You got in the car on your own? Yeah the cops would laugh at you before helping you. He got in the drivers seat and took a sharp turn to get out of the parking.

"Hold tight, its gonna be a bumpy ride" He smirked and winked at you.

The fuck? You just looked at him mouth gaped, how can he joke around at a time like this... but it did make you feel a little better, a little safer. As soon as he started driving, oh boy you had to hold onto something cause the speed he was going at was making you pray that you don't die today.

Suddenly the glass behind shattered as you turned around immediately to see what was going on. It was them. The guys from the restaurant.

"Leon they're attacking us!!!" You said in a calm tone as you gulped out of fear. It made leon take a double look at you. Keeping cool in this situation? Yeah he did the right thing swiping right on you that day.

"Alright Y/N, do you trust me?" He asked as he kept checking the mirrors and driving the car from side to side.

"I don't know..."

"That's alright, take steering wheel. I'll get rid of them" Leon said as he got up and started moving to back seat. You panicked cause he didn't give you a single second to process this but you held onto the sterring wheel trying to balance the car and somehow you managed to get on the drivers seat.

You couldn't see what Leon was doing as you were too focused on driving and trying not to hit a pedestrian. You heard his shuffle and some metals clinking. You ignored that cause it was too much for you. You were afraid to tell him that you're a terrible driver and you don't know how you got your driving license but you focused on this one task. You were NOT looking forward to die that day.

"RIGHT!" Leon shouted from behind as you took a sharp turn but you ended up on one way road... you going the opposite direction..

"Good now keep driving it'll be over soon" Leon assured you but you were too deep in your thoughts to understand what he was saying. It was a lucky day maybe, there was not much traffic on this road making it easy for you to pass through it. In the background there were several gunshots going off, which made you even more scared.

"When I tell you to take a left take it alright?" Leon told you as you nodded and kept driving.

"LEFT" He shouted as you took a sharp left and saw the car behind you hit a pole and a big fire explosion happening but you didnt see any9ne dying. Maybe they had fleed the car before it hit the pole. Giving you a little relief that you didnt kill anyone. Leon sighed as he got in the passenger seat.

After driving for a bit, you stopped near a park. As soon as you stopped the car, tears started falling down your cheeks.

"What the fuck was that... I'm so glad I'm alive" you shouted at him.

"I don't know myself" Leon lied. You knew he was lying. You could tell through his lies.

"Lies" you glared at him as you tried to punch his chest but he grabbed your fist before it could hit him. You looked down at your fist and then up at him again. You started crying even more.

Suddenly you felt him wrap his arms around you, as he rubbed your back and then ran his fingers through your hair... his cologne was still there surprisingly.

"Y/N, you did a great job, my love. Because of you we both were able to survive today" you sniffed as you decided to hug him back tightly. After all... you both had gotten so lose since you met. It was hard to adjust to what had happened.

Leon pulled back and grabbed your face... wet with your tears. He looked at you in adoration. You knew it was genuine.

"I can't tell you who I am Y/N but I like you alot, I want this to work between us. I understand if you want to leave after this" You felt heartbroken... you did something you would have never believed you'd do. You kissed him.

Leon was surprised at first but decided to kiss you back, he was very gentle with you as he held you close to him.

"I don't know what you do Leon but... I want to be with you. I want to find out more secrets about you. I'm not leaving just like that" you pulled back and said softly.

Leon grinned and hugged you tightly once again. You don't know what the hell happened today but you knew one thing. You liked what happened. The thrill, the fear of being with him. It made you even more curious. Like they say, curiosity killed the cat, in this case curiosity made you wanna get to know him more.

"Wanna get patched up and grab something to eat?" He said softly and you nodded immediately, your stomach making it clear how hungry you were. You both had a hearty laugh about that.

15. Tell the author your favorite fic of theirs. What’s your (the author’s) favorite fic you’ve written?

it’s a toss-up between we keep living anyway (Hamilton/Daredevil crossover AU) and there’s a ghost in my lungs (WS!Mollymauk AU). sadly both of them are incomplete, but one day I mean to finish them! they still have docs in my gdocs and I really like what I was going for with both of them. they’re also leaning on different favorite tropes of mine—HamDevil AU is an out-and-out crossover of two unlikely IPs and WS!Molly uses my all-time favorite movie (Captain America: The Winter Soldier) as a template. I have a deep and utter fondness for unlikely crossovers bc it makes combining the worlds into one a fun little exercise in making two disparate sources make sense, and Winter Soldier AUs combine amnesia and brainwashing and hurt/comfort into a fun neat little package.

(although I will say it’s a lot easier to come up with weird crossovers than Winter Soldier AUs especially for particular fandoms. a WS AU wouldn’t work in Ted Lasso or Our Flag Means Death, not for me as a writer, but it works in Critical Role bc there’s a faction we KNOW would not think twice about doing horrible morally bankrupt things to people’s memories.)

26. What’s your biggest distraction when writing?

video games and books. I read a LOT of books, and I’ve recently gotten really into video games—it makes the little serotonin machine in my brain go VROOM to hit things really really hard they fall down and stop moving in a video game. same with finishing a book before I have to return it to the library. ahhhh.

(but I do highly recommend reading, like, as a writer, and even outside of your preferred genres and comfort zones! note that I’m not saying you have to read like, genres or authors you absolutely despise—I hate Nicholas Sparks and I think JK Rowling can fuck herself—you just need to read stuff that isn’t something you would usually read. if you’re a romance writer/reader, it might be swell to read, say, a legal thriller. and you should def try reading outside of more well-known authors too!

as for video games, shit, go ahead and cheat whenever. I have infinite health on for Resident Evil and infinite oxygen for Shadow of the Tomb Raider and these have been absolute godsends for enabling, like, stress-free gaming.)

27. Do you like to give your readers some warning of what might be coming or just slap them in the face with content at random?

I absolutely just shoot them in the face with it like I’m launching the fic from a T-shirt cannon. part of this is bc I’m honestly never sure what’ll be coming next out of my brain—it tends to latch on to somewhat unexpected ideas and fandoms and doesn’t like to let go.

30. Post a snippet from your current WIP without context - no more than 300 words.

Call it what it is: a hallucination, brought on by the sudden lack of maintenance, the scattershot memory, the closeness to a life that Leon doesn’t remember anymore. That being said, ghost just sounds better, fits better, because the voice that pulls Leon away from a routine background check he’s running on a new neighbor belongs to a dead man: Agent Leon Kennedy.

“Nice face you got there,” the agent comments, and Leon chokes on his response. He’s young, god, maybe twenty-five, and his eyes are a purely grey-blue, no trace of red in them. His hair is much shorter, cut in a curtain cut that makes Leon think of this heroic-looking knight on the cover of one of the fantasy novels he’s working through, courtesy of Chris. In his hand is a knife, and he throws it up and down with almost contemptuous ease. “Too bad you stole it.”

Leon closes his eyes. He’s hallucinating. He’s hallucinating, that’s all. He has brain damage from years of getting electric shocks directly to the head and god knows what else they’ve done to him, this is all just a hallucination, a dream.

“Maybe,” says the ghost, and Leon’s eyes fly open to see the agent standing now over him, looking down. It’s a familiar position and a familiar look, this, and Leon reflexively looks away, his gut tying itself into an anxious knot. “That doesn’t mean it’s not true.”
