tw: kidnapping
(part 1) (part 2) (part 3)
“Um,” the villain says as he flicks the living room light on. “What are you doing in my house?”
The hero scowls. “Well, it’s not like I tied myself up and put a bow on my own head, is it?”
And in one of the villain’s own dining room chairs, no less. Couldn’t he at least bring his own? “I don’t know,” the villain says slowly, to the hero’s offence, “you might have.”
“Please tell me you’re joking.”
“I don’t know! Tell me what you’re doing in my house!”
“I don’t know either!”
“There is an alarming lack of information here, [Hero].” The villain steps forward to study the knot in the ropes on the hero’s wrists—just a plain, normal knot. Nothing extravagant, nothing telling. “How do you not know?”
“Well, unfortunately, [Villain], I have spent most of this experience unconscious,” the hero snaps a little harsher than necessary. “I woke up, like, five minutes before you got here.”
The villain tuts, moving his interest onto the comically large bow on the hero’s head. This would’ve been a perfect chance to laugh at him if it wasn’t somehow happening inside the villain’s house.
The villain’s just about to hit the hero with a barrage of questions—with the inevitable “I don’t know”, of course—when answers present themselves in the form of the supervillain.
“Ah, you’re home,” they say brightly. A pair of stout glasses are in their hands, generously topped up with what is undoubtedly whiskey. “How do you like your gift?”
The villain throws a glance at the hero. He looks as lost as the villain feels. “My gift?”
“You’ve been working hard recently, [Villain].” They offer him a glass and he takes it without question. “I thought I could at least acknowledge the positive impact you've had on our little business. On me.”
The hero scoffs but they both ignore him. “What…” The question’s going to sound insane, but this situation is insane enough to warrant it, the villain thinks. “What am I meant to do with a… person?”
The supervillain hums thoughtfully, casting a glance about the room. “Well, I was looking around your place and thought you could use a maid.” They laugh at the scrunch of offence in the villain’s face. “Oh, I’m kidding, [Villain]. Maybe they could be target practice, a pet, a plaything.” A sip from their glass. “Anything your mind can conjure.”
The villain tries to look at the hero like he’s thinking on it. The hero watches him back like he’s trying to read his mind.
The supervillain takes another swig of their drink. The villain copies them before they can notice that he’s avoiding it like it’s poison. It sure tastes like it; it burns the whole way down.
“Any ideas?”
The villain taps the glass to his chin with a tut. “A dog would be nice.” The supervillain snorts a laugh, and the hero’s desperate expression turns flat with horror. “I’m sure I can find a nice collar for him.”
“A shock collar, I hope,” the supervillain suggests with a grin. “Oh, I’m so glad you like it, [Villain]. You deserved a little something for everything you’ve done for me.”
This is more than a little something, but the villain doesn’t bother correcting them. “I love it. Thank you.”
“No darling.” A smile; soft, affectionate. “Thank you.”
The supervillain gives him a pat and sets their glass down on the coffee table. “I have business to attend to. I just wanted to see your reaction.” They make for the door, though the villain’s not convinced that’s how they got in. “I’ll see you tomorrow—keep me updated on how you train them.” And with a wink and one last smirk, they disappear outside and off into the evening.
The hero’s gaze snaps to the villain the moment they’re gone. “A dog?” he demands.
The villain carefully unties the bow on his head, collecting the ribbon in a giant red bundle in his arms. “Yeah,” he says brightly. “Are you going to bolt if I untie you?”
“You called me a dog. I’ll goddamn make like one the moment that door’s open.”
The villain shrugs nonchalantly. “Binds stay on, then.”
“Wait, no—” The hero’s voice is bordering on a cry. The villain doesn’t hate the sound of it. “No, sorry, I just— you want me to be your dog.”
“I do.” The villain smiles innocently. “My guard dog.”
That gives the hero long enough pause for the villain to take his knife to some of the rope. “… Guard dog.”
“You’ll be my bodyguard.” The first wisps break free under his blade. “You’ll work for me, cover my back, whatever I need you to do.”
“You want me to… defend you?”
The villain can’t help but smirk. The ropes split, freeing the hero’s hands. “If you don’t like it, [Supervillain] had plenty of good ideas.”
“No!” It comes out faster than the hero seems to have thought it. “No, I– I can do that.”
“That’s what I like to hear.” The villain sighs contentedly, giving him a mocking pat on the head as he gets back to his feet. “Good boy.”

if yord had lived he'd be leading the hunt for qimir and osha and we would've gotten the most delicious tension between him and qimir. qimir would start out frustrated that yord got away, intent on finishing what he started. and yord, once hunted, now hunter, once an exemplary jedi, and now solely focused on revenge disguised as righteous justice (which it is also a bit of that). and qimir starts to enjoy the game, the chase. and in this timeline, sol still dies, osha still goes with qimir, but yord was unconscious, recovering in a bacta tank, so all he knows when he wakes up is that qimir is out there and took osha, his friend, away. so then you also have the tension of that confrontation, the realization that osha has willingly turned, and that maybe yord can't blame her for that, because what has he been doing these past many months, years, maybe, but give in to the selfish desire to finish what he started too?

let it happen (post-marvel’s spider-man 2)
Peter sips thoughtfully. “It does well in a fight. But it’s not begging for it, it just…it adapts. Whatever Li did, my thinking is it neutralized it in nearly every sense of the word, y’know? So if I want to spend these next couple of months focusing on building up EMF again, or sprucing up May’s house–it’s kind of just content with that. Venom fed my anger. It needed it to thrive. Anti-venom…” He blows out a breath. “If I’m not actively in danger, it seems to be indifferent.” He shrugs. “Or maybe it not having a voice has forced me to fill in a lot of blanks. And talk to myself. A little too much.”
Absorbing this explanation but not quite letting go of the absurdity in front of them, Miles, Hailey, and Ganke continue to gawk at him. MJ scratches her nose, half-smiling
Peter mockingly widens his eyes back at them. “What?”
“Pete,” Miles starts.
“You tamed an alien,” Ganke exclaims.

After the events of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker begrudgingly accepts that his new symbiote is here to stay.

giggles kicks feet. if the offer to ask you to talk about endoparasitic is still open do you want to talk about Luce
BOY DO I EVER.
the thing abt luce is that she is almost completely cynte’s foil, and yet she still outdoes him in befriending the parasites, and that’s the whole point! she has been ignored for so long that she seeks their company, she craves connection, and she’s empathetic to the point that she’s willing to hear them out and help them.
she and cynte are both blinded by their pursuit for power, and both to the same extreme. the only difference is luce was chosen, and he was not. she thinks that she has bested him, that despite his treatment of her that she was the superior one, when in reality she was doomed the moment she reached out to the parasites. this ties into the theme of religion and devotion, being chosen as a sacrifice and being honored. gods in this world function as a lense through which the characters see the world, and luce sees it through the lense of goodness. she literally worships optimism, but this has failed her because of her extreme loneliness. and so, she decides to see good in the parasites.
luce also really resents cynte, go figure. she takes pride in her empathy and feeling and morality, yet she releases the parasites. they are both so blind, and the parasites were puppeteering everything the entire time, except for cynte. luce is lonely in a cold world surrounded by uncaring people, and so when “pyeridae”, her goddess of light and love, chooses her, she thinks that she is exceptional in having those traits to more of a degree than others. because cynte has not embraced these same traits in himself, he cannot ascend to the level that she has. but, truly, the parasites just want to spread. luce is a gateway, a vessel, a puppet, a host, a hero.
but, she has been tricked. plain and simple. the parasite starts whispering to her, eventually taking her mouth and taking over her body, splitting apart her skin to reveal engorged bones. her spine grows too long for her back. her will is completely warped when the parasite wastes the people on the arkship without her say. do you think she saw karis on the arkship?
she’s dealing with a similar kind of insanity to the cultists, where their minds are very distorted due to the parasites. the difference with luce is that her state is very advanced. the will of the parasite and the will of luce are melded together, if you were to separate the two there would not be enough of either left to even one of them to continue living. she is completely infected.
“cynte?” “i wish… i wish you would’ve killed me when you had the chance.” this quote makes me very sad. she realizes she was a puppet, that this state is very painful for her, that she’s done horrible things. cynte obliges with her request, if a little late.
i like her :3 doomed by literally everything. thank you for the ask!

How would Felix react to Josh getting stuck in a coma? (Probably from Felix's punishments)
Ohmy, I LOVE this question!!! 👀😍
Pure panic. He'd be stuck in the the in-between of unadulterated terror and crippling denial.
For a day or so, he'd try and nurse Josh back to health. Felix would be perched by Josh's bedside night and day. Tucking him in, holding his hand and whispering sweet nothings, begging him to wake up. Felix wouldn't sleep, wouldn't eat - he'd just watch Josh and try over and over to wake him.
Then desperation would set in. When he realises Josh isn't waking up and that this time, it's deadly serious. He'd call for backup - his goons friends. He'd be left with no option but the hospital, but how could he ever do that? He wouldn't be able to stay with Josh. Eyes would turn to Felix the second he carried Josh in, just skin and bones, littered with bruises and scars. And how could he ever think of abandoning the love of his life?
So, I think either Felix's hubris would get the best of him, and he'd refuse to get Josh medical help and would keep him...no matter what happens. Or maybe he would dump Josh at the hospital, possibly with the intention of snatching him back down the line 👀

[based off of this JJK/RGU crossover post]
"Does this feel...inelegant to anyone else?" Saionji asks as the crowd watches the outsiders bound upwards to fight End of the World.
"How do you mean?" Juri says next to him.
"Like--" Saionji's hands fly around like they're combing the air for the right words. He's still wearing the same thing he was wearing in Wakaba's dorm room. "Like, you know, we're dealing with this strange problem none of us can properly articulate, and suddenly these outsiders come in to be like 'oh yeah, your chairman's some kind of ghost-demon-thing'--"
"Curse," Nanami reminds him.
"Right, a curse. Whatever. And then the outsiders, after they're like 'your chairman's a curse', they somehow disable him long enough to evacuate everyone on campus and then go up to fight him and solve all our problems for us. Like some weird deus ex machina that's only possible through an insane series of coincidences." Touga hms behind him, but Saionji ignores him. "And then you end up with like--character arcs left unfinished, symbols gone to waste, thematic lessons never learned. Like if, I don't know, we were studying the Iliad or something in lit, like if someone just resurrected Patroclus in the middle of all the fighting. Or one of the gods just plucked Helen away from Troy and put her back with Menelaus."
("Did Helen even want to be with Menelaus?" Anthy murmurs to herself, unheard by most.)
Saionji rubs the back of his neck. "You know. That sort of deal. Deus ex machina, interrupted story, unsatisfying conclusion."
Miki stares at him. "But we're not in a story. We're real people. Right?"
"I--well--" Saionji sighs. "Yeah. You're right. Sounds weird now that I say it out loud. Never mind."

kinda obsessed with yuri and claude in rosetta headstone,,, like theyre just the stupidest smart people, and only now are they finally communicating with each other. like the way khalid has grown up throughout the fic, and yuris complicated issues with trust and intimacy. idk, don't mind me, im just gonna go sit in a corner while rotating them and this whole story in my brain.
Thank you!!! I'm love them also. Honestly, Yuri was the only character who I put in real effort to try and keep in-character. Which was tough as hell - I feel like I only actually landed on his character a few stories after I wrote this one.
Yuri is so good. Your early interactions with him are nothing but him repeatedly trying to convince you how terrible he is. He's a lot of bluster and obfuscation and kinda tsundere but he can be painfully sincere too. Yuri grows close to Khalid because he's one of the few people he does trust - because Yuri and Khalid are the same guy and Yuri will always trust a self-centered asshole, aka Yuri trusts what he understands. But then Khalid grows too close, and Khalid's growth as a person means that he turns into somebody Yuri doesn't understand anymore, and Yuri realizes way too late that he's let Khalid into his heart, and then he panics and starts pushing him away. I think Yuri would have just propositioned him like five months ago and tried to win his affections that way if Byleth (Dimitri vibed out Khalid's aceness for her) hadn't mildly suggested that Yuri try the long way and actually getting closer emotionally with him. ("Try flowers." "How did I know you'd say that.").
I think main characters have to change throughout a story, even if it's just in self-acceptance or a change of understanding. I think a story where the most important person is a teacher should involve a drastic change in their students, and everybody should take away a different lesson. Byleth's influence on Yuri was through allowing him to be a student too: Yuri, like Khalid, understands the world through a give-and-take framework, and he struggles repeatedly to accept Byleth's generosity and care given with nothing expected in return. Yuri's growth as a character comes to a point where he expresses what he wants honestly with Khalid, allows himself to be a young person, and accepts the care that Khalid has learned to supply. Khalid believes that all people are selfish and self-centered, so he has no obligation to try and be a good person. Byleth shows him that we have a responsibility to ourselves and to others, that there are good people in the world who care about him very much, and that the least we can do is return that care.
I've said like ten times that the story is about communication, and despite how Yuri and Khalid are literally the same guy (or because of it), it takes the entire story to get to a confession scene. Yuri pulls the most teen boy bullshit and teases him and flirts with him in a way that he KNOWS Khalid isn't going to really understand, and as a result the Khalid who actually does really like him just assumes that it's not reciprocated, so he doesn't say anything. So juvenile.
In the end, you have to trust someone enough to let them turn you down. You have to trust yourself enough to say what you feel. It's not so bad to be young and do stupid young person things. If you need something said, ask somebody to say it. I should finish that follow-up story with them but it was literally going nowhere jaksldf thanks for the ask!

My friend: I can't think while I'm at work
Me, at work, earlier that day: word for word writing a fic In my head
#not a happy one either#out here in the pharmacy aisles thinking about comas#(old news)#but it was like Elsie calling her mom and her mom asking how everyone was#namely how Elsie (heart failure) and Finch (fetus whos host is going into heart failure) are doing#and Elsie says that shes been having contractions but shes hiding them from her doctors#(even though she thinks its Braxton hicks)#and her mom yells at her and asks why she would do that and Elsie says she doesn't want to have this baby without her wife#because her wife Atticus has been in a coma for about a week after an aneurysm ruptured + she hemorrhaged and seized#and her mom is about to say like “a life for a life” vibes. when a baby is born someone dies. that's how it works#and Elsie yells at her because a) what the fuck and b) why would god choose to kill her HEALTHY wife after making Elsie so sick?#why wouldn't he take Elsie if he needed a life for a life?#anyway i wrote it when i got home lmao#and now im at work again but this time it was filling waters.#and while i was doing that i was day dreaming about Rainey and Lyria and Remus#it was a nicer daydream (Rainey and Lyria going to get icecream but Rainey has no cash. Remus has 100$)#but i knew Remus had to ve hurt or she wouldn't be there (third wheeling AND She and Lyria don't get along)#so i was trying to figure out the timeline and decided on when she tried to kill herself so Rainey is watching her#and all I thiught was: (annoyed) i promsie not to kill myself in the next half an hour 😒#(while they run to town to get icecream together and she's left at home)#james is rambling again#ocs#rambling#thoughts#writer#writing#original character

Hello girl, I hope that you are slaying. I want to thank you for creating bmo. That fic means the world to me!! I'm just wondering, do you think that the next chapter would be released soon? Anyways, I hope that you have a great holidays <3 keep slaying
Hey thanks for the message!
All I can bring is Christmas disappointment lol as I haven't been able to work on any fanfic for the past month so nothing is ready for Christmas. :'). I had a joyful few weeks of fanfc work but yeah lol, life got in the way, I am not very slay
Work dragged me down as I was trying to get 3 big edits back to my authors before the Christmas holiday so that meant a lot of overtime 😵‍💫😭 so what little free time I had, I had to destress with other things and had many other life responsibilities to take care of.
Thanks for sending, I hope readers can enjoy what works I do have up in the meantime.

anyway I think the only tribes we’re missing are papirus and mustari, and it’s probably basilio since he’s one of three papirus with portrait sprites and his overworld sprite has a conspicuous axe (berserker? I think I saw that on an archetype list in a guide) and that means fidelio is probably going to die at some point because what else would have him join us… but I could be wrong. and the mustari tribe chief, el-something, also has a conspicuous staff and portrait and the only other sprite has been for his sister, and I don’t foresee any interesting subversions with her having… agency. so far I feel like indigenous/closed religion writing hasn’t been… too bad? the mustari are a little split on the sacrifice thing (countering planet of hats-type homogeneity) and there’s been at least two times where the characters/narrative have been like ‘hang on, don’t jump to judgment’ (countering ethnocentrism and deemphasizing shock value). more sensitive than I would’ve expected? not that I know much about this sorta stuff
