🔥perfect lyctorhood? (i take bait too easily)
🔥AUs
perfect lyctorhood: idk if this is unpopular! but i don't think perfect lyctorhood as it is idealized exists in canon. even John did not do perfect lyctorhood, he did a mad desperate dash of destruction and creation that only worked out the way it did bc Alecto's world-soul was so huge. also i think it is cooler thematically if it doesnt exist because like.... lyctorhood hasnt been presented to us as a.... "good end"? it's at best a desperate act done under impossoble conditions. so it feels out of thematic line for a secret third kind of lyctorhood to exist that like somehow juatifies the whole thing as a concept i guess? not sure if im explaining it well. i'm totally fine with it in an AU/fic though, and it can be a fun thing to explore in headcanons and fandom and art especially (i LOVE gwiddlehark art with reversed eyes)! i just don't want it to be the canon end
AUs: again idk if this is unpopular bc i love AUs and feel fairly mainstream fandom abt them, but IMO the most important thing about an AU is distilling a character down to whatever their core is, and then throwing them in Situations. you can have the coolest AU and the best writing but if you don't get that Core Aspect of the characters accurate, the whole thing falls flat for me.
send me 🔥+topic and i'll give you an unpopular opinion
