i love the way bud and lou follow her so effortlessly and without hesitation. like they see her whack a cop with her mallet and are just like "mother is going to war, we shall assist :D"
no commands or requests on her part, they know what to do. they're a pack and they follow the lead of their alpha

Gonna take a moment to infodump about the original panel and its writer.
It's from Spider-Man and the X-Men, I believe issue 2, written by Elliott Kalan.
Elliott is the former head writer for The Daily Show, and currently one of the hosts of The Flop House, a delightful bad-movies podcast. The Flop House is primarily where I know him from.
He wrote a thriller series called Maniac of New York, about a world where there's an unkillable Jason-esque killer. The authorities can't do much of anything about him, so they just... report on his movements. Like the weather.
And he's taken on the current Harley Quinn run, starting with issue 44.
He's also written series about the Disney Hercules and the Disney Hades.

Ghostbusters Animated Series on Netflix: What You Need to Know
Netflix is stepping into the ghostbusting game with a brand-new animated Ghostbusters series. Announced back in 2022, this series is finally gaining traction, with Variety reporting that Elliott Kalan has joined the project as a writer and executive producer. If his name sounds familiar, itâs because he was the head writer for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and played a key role in the cult hit Mystery Science Theater 3000 revival. Now, heâs bringing his sharp wit to the supernatural world of Ghostbusters. Whatâs the Buzz? This animated series is being handled by Sony Pictures Animation, with Ghostbusters veterans Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan from Ghost Corps, Inc. onboard as executive producers. These two are no strangers to the Ghostbusters universeâthey co-wrote Ghostbusters: Afterlife and its frosty follow-up, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. With their involvement, fans can expect the animated series to capture the same vibe that made the recent films so enjoyable. The showâs exact plot details are still under wraps, but sources hint that the series will stay true to the tone of the recent movies, mixing humor with the supernatural in a way that only Ghostbusters can. This will be the third animated series in the Ghostbusters franchise, following The Real Ghostbusters and Extreme Ghostbusters. Both previous series became cult classics, and Netflixâs new take on the franchise has some big shoes to fill. Why It Matters With Ghostbusters: Afterlife and Frozen Empire proving that thereâs still plenty of ectoplasm left in the tank, the animated series is set to add a fresh spin to the beloved franchise. Fans who grew up with the original films and cartoons are eager to see how the new series will bring the Ghostbusters universe to a new generation. And letâs not forget, Netflix has been on a roll with animated shows, so expectations are high. The Ghostbusters brand is as strong as ever, with nearly $200 million in box office earnings from Ghostbusters: Afterlife and another $200 million from Frozen Empire. The animated series aims to keep that momentum going, attracting both nostalgic fans and newcomers alike. Looking Ahead As the Ghostbusters franchise continues to evolve, this Netflix animated series is shaping up to be a must-watch. With a top-tier writer like Kalan at the helm and a proven creative team, itâs safe to say that the future looks brightâor at least, spookyâfor Ghostbusters fans. Keep an eye out for more details as the series develops, and get ready for more ghostbusting action, this time in animated form. (Source: Variety) Â Read the full article

Huh -- I never thought about it before because Iâm a filthy casual, but the few times we get people writing comics who actually, you know, read the backlog first, we get this:
(thanks Elliott Kalan!)
And the writers donât read the previous material, we get this:
(way to be racist, Sonic)
Is there anyway to, I donât know, encourage comic writers to read the backlog for a few weeks before writing something?
i know people who reblog the intertextuality post don't check out my blog and they don't know I've been reading comics for 12 years and been into star wars for 14 years so BELIEVE ME i know comic book writers don't read each other's work. I'm very familiar with this and i always complain about it.....

9 Ridiculous Myths Everyone Believes About The Old West by The Cracked Podcast ....
Cowboys might be the most iconic type of American. The hat! The pistols! The white man! THESE are the markers of a true cowboy, in our minds. But what if thatâs one prominent myth about the Old West? And what if it's one member of a rogues' gallery of bullshit youâve been told about life in the late 1800s west of the Mississippi River? On this episode of The Cracked Podcast, outlaw podcaster Alex Schmidt forms a posse with incredible comedy writers Jenny Jaffe and Elliott Kalan. Theyâll gun down myth after Old West myth, drawing on everything from historical records to Jenny & Elliottâs experiences creating an animated TV comedy set in cowboy times. Theyâll also explore weird myths about our cultural myths, figure out which modern celebrity has the best outlaw name, and re-imagine what a great Western story can be.
