Semi-off the cuff, semi-been thinking about it for a while, decided I wanted to try picking a few countries or regions every year and then reading 3 books, watching 3 movies, finding 3 songs I like, and making 3 dishes from those places. Starting with Ireland and Senegal because my parents want me to (and the food and music will be easy bc we already cook Irish and Senegalese food), adding Chile bc there are a couple of authors on my radar from there, and the Soviet Union bc I've been getting more interested in Soviet history and culture over the last year and wanted to feel like I was accomplishing something by reading books and watching movies I was already going to watch lmao. I think Senegal will be the kind of tricky one for books and movies but I figure I can probably find a few - I already know of at least one book and movie from there but I'll have to look around for more.
