'58 Plymouth Fury, real nice one too, with the cherry red paint job. I...never did see the end of it though..." Because he had been too scared... //i also gift a kazoo trying his best uwu

Sonia's Birthday Asks 2023 - No Longer Accepting!
Usually, Sonia believed Kazuichi to approach her mostly for reasons relating to her appearance or her title. And while she didn't mind talking about her work, she'd hoped that by attending Hope's Peak full of other talented students that they would care far more about who she was as a person versus what she was, the crown princess and future queen of Novoselic.
Thus, she was pleased when, out of the blue, he'd inquired after her favorite movie. And horror movies, at that (though she had a few she watched in secret that were decidedly less frightening, but afraid of being stereotyped for enjoying fluffy love stories, she tended not to speak of them to others). "A horror movie with an old car?" She clarified, giving Kazuichi a rare smile. Rare for him to be on the receiving end, anyway. "I think you are referring to Christine! It was originally a novel by Mr. Stephen King before it became a film: his words were very popular for adaptations in the late 1970s and 1980s. Yes, it is about a car with a strong jealous streak that attacks anyone who attempts to harm her, or come between her and her driver! Some of the characters meet rather grisly ends: it might be my favorite car in cinema."
It was a little disappointing that Kazuichi hadn't watched through the film's thrilling conclusion, though: especially as the two teenage survivors worked to crush Christine into a metal cube so she couldn't harm anyone else. Though, the more she thought about it, the more Sonia guessed that such a scene would horrify the likes of Kazuichi Souda: a precious vintage car, rendered to scrap metal.
So it was probably a safer topic for him if she spoke about her own favorite horror movies. But that presented a unique obstacle for Sonia: how could she choose only one important film to call as her favorite? The befuddled expression she now wore in response to his question was enough to show that he'd asked her the equivalent of a Sophie's Choice.

"A favorite...? Well, it would be terribly unfair for all of my favorite stories if I chose to exalt one over all of the rest!" Sonia chuckled a bit awkwardly, deferring a precise answer in the way only a politician could. "Perhaps it is best to consider the themes of horror films, and selecting my very favorites amongst them! Such as slasher films, for example: I find Friday the 13th, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre to be most enjoyable! And then there's films about witches, such as Suspiria and The Witch. And we must not forget the brilliance of the aptly-titled 'torture porn,' such as the Saw and Hostel series. Oh, I do wish my parents had approved of Mr. Eli Roth filming his Hostel masterpieces in Novoselic! I so very much tried to convince them to accept the film studio's offer, but they were worried about the bad press it would bring to Novoselic. Oh, and there's always supernatural entities, demons, vampires, ghosts, and-"
If Kazuichi had ever wanted Sonia Nevermind to speak at length to him, all he'd needed to do was ask about her various opinions on horror films, television shows, books, and documentaries. So much of her discussions took place on the internet with other like-minded fans that she hardly ever had the opportunity to discuss them in person.

I wanted to do some drawings but I haven't been able to find the motivation, energy, or time so I'm doing sort of reviews for the horror movies I've seen so far:
The first one of the month I watched was Saw X, enjoyed it more than I thought never gave so much time of day because gore really isn't my thing (it doesn't bother me besides some bone breaking related stuff it's just not what I go for in horror) but it was pretty good and I understood why some people seem to say they're funny movies cuz there is some humor to them not what you'd expect but they're funny, lol. I think it could have been a tad shorter but otherwise I recommend seeing it if you're a horror fan, I've never really seen a Saw movie before but people who have seemed to enjoy the movie as well!
I'll give it a 9 out of 10
After this movie Hulu advertised a new horror movie to me and being bored I decided why not. The movie is called Appendage and while I did like I don't believe everyone will. It's funny and NOT in the good way, the effects look hilarious at times and it's just a tad bit on the boring side BUT what makes up for it is the ending. This movie is not subtle as well in what it's metaphor is and if you don't see it the ending will go over your head but if you take into account the meaning behind the movie the ending leaves you with something honestly kind of heartwarming.
7.5 out of 10
After this I decided I was on a roll and continued to another horror movie (this time a comedy one) on Hulu. The Werewolves Within which made me laugh a bit at the beginning and I was surprised and enjoyed seeing Flo from the commercials BUT... I didn't enjoy this movie. Maybe I needed to pay more attention, maybe there were more sight gags or something but I honestly didn't find it all that funny or interesting and I ended up guessing, correctly, who the werewolf was even though I was partially paying attention. I was distracted while watching this so maybe that affected my enjoyment but as of now I honestly don't recommend this movie.

The next movie I saw was Friday the 13th part 3 and I actually enjoyed it as well I didn't really care for my first watch of the 1st Friday the 13th but it has been a long time so I should give it another go like I did with Texas Chainsaw Massacre (and ended up actually liking). I don't really know what to say about it, I just enjoyed it for what it is (a slasher) and the biker gang was hilarious because they came off so queer coded to me, lol. So, I liked it and it's when we get the classic Jason look with the hockey mask so, yeah!
7.7 out of 10
Next up on the list is Eyes without Face, a VERY old French movie. I also liked it, it was definitely a slower movie but I expect that with MUCH older horrors. The effects weren't amazing but again it's a very old movie but they weren't horrible for what they were but despite all that the movie is pretty good so if you enjoy old horror or can put up with old horror I would say you should definitely check it out. Like a lot of horror and especially older/classics of the genre a lot of it runs off of ableism (like the above ones do or had) say the above movies honestly exhibit as well only difference being that this one I would say is very on the nose and may upset some people so yeah not for everyone definitely but otherwise an interesting movie.
8 out 10
And, the last horror I've seen so far this month is The Visit and.. like the Eyes without a Face movie this one is very strongly influenced by ableism BUT combine that with ageism and you get The Visit! Despite the ableism/ageism though I did enjoy this movie. It's a good horror movie BUT for shitty reasons. I also found the weird insistence of having the white boy rapping (more than once) and being this whole big part of his character REALLY cringey and unnecessary and honestly takes away from the movie (not saying the ableism/ageism doesn't just that when you're a horror fan you kind of come to expect that).
I give it a...

Update: Alright, so now I've finally watched the Blair Witch Project and honestly? ... Not impressed and totally agree with my parents on this one. I don't think it was horrible just not as good as people make it out to be. The actors really carry the movie because besides them nothing really happens in the movie. It reminds of Skinamarink only Skinamarink is worse because literally nothing happens in that movie but also people opinions/reactions to these movies remind me of one another because people really hold up the BWP but at least I can get why it did have the reaction it originally gotten since back then people honestly weren't sure if it was real or not because of how it was advertised and such but with Skinamarink I have no earthly idea why anyone thinks that movie is any good, I think only non-horror fans and people with SUPER active imaginations find that movie entertaining at all (and by super active I MEAN super active because 3 ADHD horror fans, myself included, didn't, lol). It's a movie that relies on the viewer to put in all the effort and I don't get why people don't see that.
...Uh, sorry this ended up being two in one review (mostly me bitching about Skinamarink)
6 out of 10
& -4 out of 10 for Skinamarink lol
Alright so another update, and that's for a movie called Pearl. A prequel to X a movie that I did not care for at all and am still surprised people ACTUALLY like it. Anyway, Pearl is much better than X in my opinion but also isn't like an amazing horror movie. It is interesting and entertaining enough to watch but the problem is it IS a horror movie and most of the scares and horror are barely there &/or at the end. It was much lighter on horror which is a disservice to this movie compared to the other movie that I watched that I said is a light horror BUT does it well (Lake Mungo which... I actually just realized I forgot to review, lol). I think they should have utilized more psychological horror for this movie because of how the setting and plot make it harder to have immediate and frequent killings and because of how they did you end up forgetting your watching a horror which sometimes be benefit it definitely was not in this case with is being a slasher/thriller.
6.9 out of 9
And, for X I give it a 3 out of 10, it's not even BAD funny/good it's just a bad movie.
Alright and last (that I remember) is Lake Mungo, a movie that I personally enjoyed BUT I can understand why some might not enjoy it. I think for this movie you need to be in the mindset that this isn't a typical horror and more on the light side & is more about grief than fear. It's a documentary style movie dealing with people who are grieving a family member who drowned with some added supernatural elements.
I give it a... 8 out of 10

Honorable mentions:
The Craft, which I did a more 'thorough review' earlier this month (mostly bitching, lol) but didn't rate it so I'll rate it here but first a quick summary:
I LOVED the vibes and most of the movie but HATED the ending and very much disliked the main character (she was boring and judgy, lol).
8.5 out of 10
Also, after FINALLY watching BWP decided to fully rewatch The Scooby Doo Project, a parody and it was great, very funny and much better than BWP! If you're a Scooby Doo fan and have never seen it fully I recommend it!
