- it’s intricately detailed, with the planets all in line, and heeseung just can’t stop gawking at it in amazement and shock

- “w-when did you get that?!?!”

- “yesterday, it was kind of a last minute decision, that’s why i never told you earlier. it took hours too.”

- it was only when you two are sat next to each other on the sofa, that sunghoon saw the pretty flower tattoo etched onto the side of your neck

- “what the hell is that?!?!”

- “well i’m glad you like it sunghoon; it’s a tattoo that i’ve been wanting for a while and i wanted it to be a surprised. i might as well have not gotten it, if people don’t even think it looks nice,” you say with a large scowl painted onto your features

- “NO i didn’t mean it like that babe, i was just a bit shocked that you didn’t tell me that’s all. i absolutely love it, and i think it suits you perfectly.”

- the both of you proceed to discuss any more tattoos that you would like to get, and you ask sunghoon whether he would like to get any

- he tells you that if he were to ever get a tattoo, that he would want something minimalist and fairly simple, but he’s never really thought about it before

- however, your tattoo sparks a desire in him, which leads to him getting a tattoo on his forearm. you have to hold his hand throughout because it hurts him a lot hehe

- one day, sunghoon begins to kiss the tattoo and the skin on your neck around it, which becomes a habit, especially when he gives you backhugs. the two of you love the intimacy of it 🥺

16. if you had to get a tattoo right now, what would you get and where?

I bought a giftcard for a tattoo artist during lockdown to support her, so I have a tattoo pending, I just need to figure out the design. I’m still unsure of what specifically to get, since I got my Hawkeye tattoo back in December. 

All my tattoos are “invisible” in the sense I can cover them all up, but I am considering to get one that’s visible all the time, either on my arm or my lower leg, possibly. I have to figure out what it is, though! Right now this very instant, I’d probably go with something Moomin related again (I already have a Snufkin tattoo), but I need to figure out if I want to get more work done on my first Snufkin or if I want a separate tattoo done.

19. what’s your favorite teacher you’ve ever had?

Oh, good question! Probably a history-geography teacher I had in high school who was absolutely AMAZING and inspiring and he tried so hard. He was really, really good.

I also had a French teacher (equivalent of English teacher in English speaking countries) in middle school who gave me the inspiration to begin writing, so that’s that. You guys owe HIM all the fanfiction I’ve ever written, because he sparked something creative in me that I haven’t lost ever since I was 11 years old in his class and listened to him talk about the power of creation through words.

It has only been a little over a year since I started watching the show and joined the Black Sails fandom. I posted my first fanart exactly one year ago and it was the one above. Thus far I have drawn over 100 of them. I tried different mediums and styles, both for practice and for capturing the essence of the things I wanted to share. Some of them are great, some are silly, some are a bit out of character or not so good in other ways and some ended up surprising me in many ways. All are nonetheless very precious to me.

Under the read more there's a list of all my doodles thus far. Most of them feature Flint, Silver or both of them (there will be more of the other characters in the future, no worries). I have to admit I laughed quite a lot while going through these again. This is a really long post.

This is a list to show what sort of things there are and also for my own amusement and archiving purposes. The list is in chronological order, from first to the latest.

I tried to make this as concise as possible, but the tag/navigation page is here if you want to find something specific or don’t want to go through all this:

I find it endearing how this list ends with the balcony one. Like a parallel (ha!) to the first one, where Flint and Silver are having a private moment on board of a ship, although it is a different ship and at a different time. A year ago I had no idea where this all would lead me and how much I would learn and get to experience *pats my past-self in the back awkwardly and fondly*

Looking back at them (doodles) I feel both proud and slightly embarrassed of my enthusiasm. I have never done anything like this for any other fandom. I have never felt so much and had such an urge to engage in this sort of thing.

This show, its creators and crew, this fandom. Just something unbeliavable.  I cannot find the words to say how much I appreciate you all. The brilliancy, the humour, the love in all kinds of forms. I am so glad I stumbled on this show (it was a gif or a fanvid about ep 2.05 that made me aware of this show, btw. I cannot remember it clearly anymore and for a moment I thought Crossbones was a pilot for Black Sails and almost missed everything, but that's a story for another time...)

Know this: I have loved sharing this experience (the show, the fandom) with you and I appreciate everything you have given to me or shared with me. I will treasure this. (I apologize not thanking more people individually, but this post would’ve never reached its end otherwise).

1. What does your muse smell like?

It’s usually his aftershave, soap he uses during morning shower and cologne – if he doesn’t forget about it. His natural smell could be described as this earthy smell that lingers in the air after the tempest in a birch forest; smell of fields of grain rippling in the wind;  freshly baked crispy rye bread; tint of licorice, sea salt with faint alcoholic breeze accenting the whole.

2. How often does your muse bathe/shower? Any habits?

He’s pretty much fixated on the topic of cleanliness and he’ll feel terrible if he loses the access to the sauna or shower at the very least. The answer ‘daily’ should be it. His sauna time is much more than just going there to sweat as many might think. Believe him or not but when he says it’s almost like a religious experience -- he means it. The choice of scents he uses is very important and sometimes might even affect his mood for the rest of the evening.

After warm (hot?) and cozy stay in a sauna he doesn’t hesitate to jump into the ice cold water or roll in the snow if possible. If not, just a cold shower will do. Jaakko takes him time in the sauna and will stay there for as long as he needs that. Or how long his body allows him to before it starts protesting.

3. Does your muse have any tattoos or piercing?

His most prominent tattoos would be a bear on his right arm and a piece of forest on his left leg. He also has two smaller tattoos, a ‘sisu’ written on his left wrist and a Snufkin on inner left forearm. He’s currently not planning on getting more tattoos unless he gets a nice idea for one.

Jaakko wears them only occasionally but he has at least one eyebrow piercing and an industrial in right ear, alongside a few helix piercings on both ear flakes. There’s at least one pair in his upper lobe, too. He used to wear a lip piercing as well but he sort of forgot and he’d have to re-pierce it if he wanted to wear it again.

4. Any body movement quirks ( ex.knee shakes )?

When he’s nervous he tends to crack his joints. When he’s angry it’s not uncommon to see him clenching his fists repeatedly, his eyes shift and muscles on his face twitch. He drums fingers against a table for example when he’s bored. When sad he droops his head and hides it in hands.

5. What do they sleep in?

He has a lot of various old T-shirts that are literally only okay to be worn to bed already, especially band shirts. Band shirts, memes shirts or ... moomin shirts. With matching moomin boxers. He has no regrets and no shame whatsoever. He suffers from an old disease called “I don’t give a fuck”.

6. What’s their favorite piece of clothing?

Long, warm cardigans most likely. Or just pullovers. Aside from boxers naturally.

7. What do they do when they wake up?

First and foremost: coffee. Then he lets Musti out to the garden, showers, shaves, eats breakfast and check the news online. Sometimes listens to the radio and prepares himself mentally for a new long day full of human interaction.

8. How do they sleep? Position?

He doesn’t have issues with falling asleep really, it’s usually his (bad) decision to stay up late so he’s dying in the morning. When he sleeps alone or next to someone he trusts and is familiar with, Jaakko sleeps like a baby honestly (with occasional exceptions in a form of an intrusive nightmare or overthinking session). Otherwise he doesn’t sleep too well because he feels the need to keep his guard up even at night. Or, especially at night.

His sleeping position is fetal position. Safe one.

The fetal position is one of the most popular among sleepers. This position is defined by a person who sleeps on their side with their legs curled up. Those who sleep this way are perceived to be tough on the outside but sensitive on the inside. They may be shy when they first meet somebody, but soon relax.

9. What do their hands feel like?

They’re calloused and rather rough in touch due to years, decades, of hard toil in the fields and using hand tools for the longest time. His hands are also covered in tiny scars after wounds he’d inflicted himself due to playing with the knife to the rhythm of knife game song. He mastered the skill now but at what cost.

10. If you kissed them, what would they usually taste like?

Mint (be it after chewing gum or eating mint candies), licorice and faint nicotine. Also coffee. This is the most possible combination.
