general appearance: the first thing people realise about her is that she is  tall.  very tall. the second thing people really see is her hair, dyed in all sorts of colours from the age of thirteen. by now, few remember what colour it originally had  ( dark brown, almost black )  and few would actually ask. she has her father’s eye colour but her mother’s eye shape, though neither parents claims to be responsible for the  look  in her eyes --- she seems almost always a bit amused.

personality: one cannot talk about elara without mentioning the word  stubborn.  other words that tend to be mentioned are: witty, sarcastic  ( usually accompanied with a sigh )  and  loyal.

special talents: like her parents, she is a mage, but what she would call her special talent is not her skill with magic but rather how she is  very  good at games that can be found at games, especially the ones that are usually said to be rigged.

who they like better: she loves her father a lot, but she  slightly  prefers her mother. very slightly. and she would never ever admit it.

who they take after more: all in all, it is difficult to say. both her parents have --- colourful families and to pinpoint where some of elara’s trait come from would very well be a hundred - year - quest before long.

personal headcanon: like most children, elara was very young when she decided that she wanted to be a doctor. unlike most children, she did not grow out of this. instead, the older she got, the more  determined  she grew. she got the grades she needed and, having inherited both her parents’ stubbornness, she was accepted at a university of great renown when she was twenty. there would have been no stopping her, not that anyone actually tried.

general appearance: she takes after her mother, not that most people would realise it, but she has her father’s hair colour and his perpetual fatigue. a scholar at heart, she spends a lot of times indoors, hunched over tomes many times her age and this is reflected by her pale skin and her somewhat bad posture, though this improves after her mother suggests dancing classes.

personality: quiet and focused, isa is someone who prefers to observe and to come up with a plan instead of immediately jumping into action. at times, this makes her  too slow,  too careful, but when she spends time with more impulsive people, she begins to become more spontaneous.

special talents: no one has memorised more poems, just like no one is better at finding the right words for every situation. it is a gift that comes in handy often throughout her life, though it also makes for a  game  — getting isa to stumble over her words.

who they like better: she loves her parents, but she  really  adores her maternal grandmother and her paternal great-grandmother.

who they take after more: all in all, her father — his preference for coffee, his exhaustion — but the value she places on creativity, especially in her spellwork, is something she got from her mother.

personal headcanon: isa joins lamia scale when she is sixteen, not because her parents pull strings but because she is a gifted mage and it would have been a shame to lose her to another guild. the guild has not had a veritable expert for rune magic in two generations, but as some of the first serpents used this magic, there exists an impressive collection of books pertaining to this magic in the guild’s library.

general appearance: blond, pale and dark-eyed, rowan looks like a doll, a perfect porcelain doll. it is an image she enhances with clothes in soft colours that give her an air that is reminiscent of a dainty flower. however, this image it very much deceiving. there are some freckles that wander from her face to her shoulders, a tiny  imperfection  that only serves to enhance her looks.

personality: rowan is brilliant and ambitious … and ruthless, but she has her soft sides, too. she is fiercely loyal to her family and those who have proven worthy of her loyalty, occasionally to the point where her plans to help them become overly complicated. and yet, they always work out in the end.

special talents: rowan has a knack for imitating other people, especially their voices. entirely unrelated — her school requires dylan or freya to email them, should their daughter be sick.

who they like better: she does not pick sides, not really. she loves both her parents for different reasons, even if sometimes, their relationships are …exhausting as especially her mother requires — feedback at times. if her aunt would  finally  agree to teach her things rowan’s mother cannot teach her, her aunt would probably be her favourite, however.

who they take after more: after all is said and done, probably her mother, though she did inherit her tendency to  extreme  behaviour from her father’s side of the family.

personal headcanon: alongside her cousins, rowan is a popular guest on parties — and the parties  she  throws in her parents’ house are both legendary and exclusive to the people she trusts  not  to spill wine on her parents’ white couch. a guest she would  really  like to attend one day: amelia hopkins, but she has not been successful thus far.

gender: female

general appearance: while much taller than her mother, lys still takes after her in terms of appearance. she is lean and swift-footed, tends to move quickly and accompanied by the blur of colour that she calls her clothes — though she would not be her father’s daughter without owning a grand total of nine leather jackets.

personality: while she looks like her mother, lys has her father’s personality — perhaps not quite as intense, but the foundations are the same. she can be rather impulsive and impatient — and when the thin thread of her patience snaps, it takes time for it to heal. she is close to the children who  also  have a darker side to them, finding kindred spirits in them.

special talents: having spent hours with her grandfather and her mother, lys is a skilled seamstress who typically at least  alters  clothes she buys, though she prefers to make them herself — or help her mother / her grandfather in making them.

who they like better: lys would never  really  admit it, but she is closer to her mother. this does not mean she likes her  better,  it just means that sometimes, it is easier for her to talk to theresia.

who they take after more: ultimately? probably her father. but a version of her father who had a happy, healthy childhood.

personal headcanon: lys’ best friend is amelia hopkins and really, this does not surprise anyone. their personalities mesh well as they are both  above  being popular in the classic sense of the word and instead follow their own path, one that leads them far away from the pitfalls of  teenage schemes.  instead of going to parties, they spend their friday evenings sitting in the tree house amelia’s father built for her when she was a kid, looking at stars and talking about all the places they  really  want to see one day.

general appearance: mika is almost carbon copy of his father, though his mother’s influence can’t be denied as he has her freckles, her hair colour and her eyes, too. though the latter is sometimes difficult to see as he is wearing glasses. like his sister, he wears comfortable, timeless clothes and has a penchant for wristwatches.

personality: he is endlessly compassionate, something that worries those who are close to him as they fear others might take advantage of him. at the same time, he is the kind of person who, once his trust has been broken,  does not forgive.  he is observant and quiet, something that grants him a lot of insight into others while few really understand him.

special talents: he is a  great  listener, something that he always chalks up to simply having a lot of empathy, but as his cousin has pointed out --- he is a great listener because he knows  a bit too well  when to stay silent, when to make a sound and when to ask a question. as mika is a kindhearted person, he would never exploit this, but rowan is not wrong to say that he could.  technically.

who they like better: honestly? his older sister. he loves his parents  a lot,  but he is a teenager and right now, he thinks his parents are embarrassing. on the other hand, isleen is the one he deems  most normal in his entire family. rowan is cool, too.

who they take after more: all things considered, his mother --- though the sides of his mother that are less known to most people. like her, he blushes a lot  when he is embarrassed and gets  very  nervous around whoever he is crushing on.

personal headcanon: he considers wren montgomery his  best  friend, though he has a secret from him, namely that he thinks that wren’s older sister merle is cute. cuter, as far as mika is concerned, than girls like lys and amelia who scare him.  just a little bit.
