its such a simple thing but i LOVE how much better taylor and rachels communication has gotten. like, imagine this happening six or seven arcs ago - taylor wouldve offered the bacon to the dogs, rachel wouldve gotten offended at her for doing so when it could harm them and said she would be a shitty dog owner, taylor wouldve felt hurt by both how blunt her explanation was and then by the insult. instead taylor offers it, rachel realizes "shes trying to include me and my dogs bc she cares about us" and then corrected her by explaining she cant give the dogs the bacon, and taylor, rather than feel offended at the bluntness, realizes "shes not upset, i would KNOW if shes upset, shes just telling me her reasoning." and then she tells rachel her own reasoning and they move on. and what looks to the outside like a weirdly tense and curt exchange is actually just them communicating in a way that makes sense to them. sorry i just. yeah.
