More snaps from my Hong Kong trip.
I haven’t transferred and edited all my photos from my trip to South Africa but I swear to find time to finish them later tonight. I already wrote my blog post and just need to insert the photos. Will probably post it on Saturday :-)

Last weekend, my officemates and I went on a trip to Zambales. We have been planning this for a month and finally that day has come. This was our first out of town trip together. I sort of organised the said trip. Originally, the plan was just to rent a private pool in Antipolo overnight. But since the expenses were just the same amount we will spend if we opted for the beach we ended up choosing Zambales. I happen to have a contact there because I was also in Nagsasa last year with my old work friends from CVG. The package kuya Jaime gave us was 1,400 per person. It already includes the transportation (both van and boat transfers back and forth), tent and cottage rent, kitchen utensils, ice, water, gas and wood for the bonfire. And then we just contributed 250php each for the food.

We left Manila at around 1AM. I asked our driver to pick us up at McDonald’s in Mindanao Ave. We got there before 4:30AM. It was a pretty smooth ride. Didn’t expect that we would get there that early. We went back to the palengke first since we were all asleep we forgot to tell Kuya Boyet to stop there because we still need to buy some more food like Liempo, Fish and other condiments we will be needing. The first trip of the boat was at 6AM so we still have an hour and a half left. We had asked Kuya Jaime to cook breakfast for us beforehand. So we paid him 800php for that. We had scrambled and sunny side up egg, tuyo, salted egg with tomato and fried rice for breakfast.

The island hopping went first and our first stop was at Capones Island. The last time I went there we weren’t able to go to the part of the lighthouse because we alighted at the other side. I was so happy when we got to the top because the view was so amazing! It was breath taking. We kinda had a hard time getting there because the boat can’t go to close the shore. There were a lot of stones and seaweed below so it was kind of slippery. I actually had a wound and my right foot is a little swollen but it was all worth it.

We also passed by Anawangin Cove and took some photos there. We got to Nagsasa Cove before 11AM. We still had leftovers from our breakfast so we just ate that for lunch. We took a rest and nap since some of us weren’t able to sleep in the van. We started preparing for our dinner at around 2PM. Tin’s friend cooked adobo for us. We also started grilling the liempo so we could all go swimming before sunset. As the night time comes we lit up our bonfire, formed a circle and started drinking. We had chips, marshmallows and peanuts as our “pulutan”. Tin Martin bought Primera Light and Jack Daniels while Cams bought 2 Tequillas. It was a really fun night because we got to know each other more.
There was just a slight incident that got us scared forcing us to get back to our tents and slept early. We overheard that one group saw a guy entering their tent and they reported it to the police because they didn’t just want to settle it in the Baranggay. 4 people from our group still continued drinking though most of us already slept.

So much has changed in Nagsasa actually. I was also there last year and I noticed that the signage has changed. The kamp wagi with LED lights weren’t there last year and the one with The Prince Johnyol. I know there was a mini store but now they have a lot of stuff to sell unlike before. They also added some more cottages and the CR has lights already.

I really love my workmates. I didn’t only found a friend in them but brothers and sisters whom I know I can count on anytime. They make the workplace feel like home that being away from my family doesn’t feel so sad anymore. Looking forward to more getaways with them. :-) (S/O to CJ and Clare for the group photos!)
By the way, if you’re also planning to go to Nagsasa or other Coves in Zambales here is kuya Jaime Agasa’s contact no.s 09154370359/09081477263
