Taipei 2 Ch F: Taro Daniel [2] def. Adam Walton [3] 6-4, 7-5 Match Stats
Tumblr media
📸 ATP official website
A. Walton might have been a break ahead at the start of the first set, but T. Daniel absorbed some pace well and became more aggressive right after, where some of his shot winners originated from. This way, A. Walton had some fair moments when he tried to raise his level, but outside of T. Daniel's clutch serving, the former did not come up with enough initiatives to shift the moment. For these reasons, the Japanese second seed created 11 break points than A. Walton's 10, converting 3 of them throughout the match.
Amid the risks, T. Daniel also appeared more solid on his serves. Scoring 11 aces than A. Walton's 7, the Japanese second seed stood out by winning 80% of his first serve points, which helped him controlling the flow even if he was behind at the start of the match. Despite double-faulting 5 times (than A. Walton's 2), T. Daniel was still able to win 51% of his second serve points, 14% higher than A. Walton thanks to his offensives.
Winning his first Challenger title of the year without dropping a set, this solidified T. Daniel's Top 100 finish as he returned to 78 live by the end of this tournament. In T. Daniel's case, who also sought to stay in the Top 100 for the sake of the Australian Open main draw direct entry, he will continue their journey in the Seoul Challenger, where a rematch with Benoit Paire, whom he straightforwardly defeated in the second round back in Taipei 2, will take place. Interestingly, A. Walton will go all the way to the Knoxville Challenger within a few weeks, where he will directly enter the main draw. And let the last pushes begin!

The original Australian / World Tour dressing gowns
These versions differs a bit from others, first and foremost the broader shoulders and the draped-up sleeve adorned with a bow, as well as the rose-trim-decorated square belt. The sturdiness of the bodice is balanced with an extra broad ruffle at the skirt hem.
Often the bodice is made of a sheer fabric, and the skirt of a thicker floral silk, but the skirt ruffle is made of the same fabric as the bodice. The bodice ruffles are usually lace, as are the engageants.
The belt back has distinct curves, which was also seen in the early European versions as well as most US ones. The dressing gown is usually tied at the side with satin ribbons matching the bow of the cuffs, as well as snap buttons.

📸 🎥 ATP official website
T. Daniel had an aggressive start to the second set as he tried to set the tone early, but while A. Walton had some fair chances, the former still nailed the flow at the end. After 4 consecutive holds, T. Daniel fired an intuitive volley to equalize the score at the fourth point of the game, but A. Walton concluded the said game with a massive hold to 3-2. It took two more games before the Japanese second seed set up a fourth-shot forehand winner to secure his one-point lead, but A. Walton still held his serves to 4-3 by the end of that game.
The Australian third seed then tried to raise his game as his lob created his break point in the tenth game, but T. Daniel's service games were too solid until the latter saved all of them (including with an ace and forcing A. Walton to err his forehand) before scoring a huge hold to 5-5. This set the tone for the happenings in the next game, where T. Daniel initially generated his break point thanks to A. Walton's backhand error. The latter might have saved them, but it still got converted 2 points later (6-5). As a result, T. Daniel earned his chance to serve for the match, where even though he neutralized some break points midway, he still served it out, taking the second set 7-5 to secure his first Challenger title of the year.
