I've always wanted to do a Halloween special set in the world of Aeser...
Available on itch.io
Goblet of Mercy
Goblet of Mercy is a short light(?) psychological horror visual novel about your encounter with a woman whose ego is so big she made her own perfect world to contain it.
It began with Halloween, a time when the veil between worlds is thin. Your friend Judy invited you out to a themed party at the local library. A Halloween event, a good friend, a lot of weird books for sale. Judy might have been in a shifty mood, but there was no need to worry. Really. What could go wrong?
Download Goblet of Mercy on Itch
Features
Vampires.
Choices matter, leading to 4 different endings.
Choose between a male and female main character (name changeable) each with a slightly different personality.

I just realized I fixated on Mobius talking about how great it is that the time fascists gave him a job I didn't realize he's an idiot.
He talks about how crazy the concept of magic, Aeser and Jotun are and how it's not difficult from the time keepers. But he's comparing two different things. It be one thing if Loki believed in the Norns or something but magic and intergalactic travel are just part of Loki's world. It be like comparing God and destiny to computers and electricity. Yeah, it crazy that we do so much on tiny boxes made of plastic and metal but it can be understood and explained. They don't exist because we believe they exist they because they exist. Destiny and fate are concepts, believing in something is not the same as knowing something even if that something is kinda weird when you think about it.
To me that chat conveys two things: that Mobius doesn't know how it all works and, most importantly, he doesn't mind not knowing. He still enforces every rule and does as told every time.
Someone who is so proud to say this about an organization he barely knows...
Tumblr media
... is not exactly a smart cookie. And by the way, it's quite telling how he keeps dodging the questions Loki asks him.
He asks if he believes in all that "stuff" (oh Loki's way of speech, where are thou) and Mobius' answer is "I don't get hung up on 'believe, not believe', I just accept what is." When Loki asks if free will even exists anymore Mobius responds "oh that's an oversimplification". He never answers directly, all he says is TVA propaganda which is a nice way to prove that all agents, him included, have been effectively manipulated by the TVA but... that brings the question: why is he happy with that? He doesn't question anything?
He talks about jet-skis and how much he loves them even though he has never used one, he says the TVA is his life but he doesn't know how it works and doesn't care to ask - and what's worse, the time he does ask a question or two to Ravonna and she doesn't answer he's cool with it. It's not until ep4 that he bothers with trying to figure things out for himself but this guy has been working for the TVA for years, decades, centuries... who knows. And he didn't care to do that before?
After Loki has mentioned his bio father and Odin and where he comes from, Mobius says: "If you think too much... it all sounds ridiculous" - this comes after he has said the TVA is his life and "it's real" because he believes "it's real"
All this to say I wholeheartedly agree with, Mobius isn't exactly smart.

It is said that the Empress Mara Seita was immortal. It is also said that over a thousand years ago, she broke off a shard of the world. This became Aeser.

Happy New Year! Here’s a free Tell a Demon-related short interactive visual novel. It was supposed to have 3 endings and ended up having 4-5 depending on how you count ‘em.
It’s... more of a horror story.
Story & About
Tell was involved in the death of an old friend. Now his lover is hunting her down. Will she find peace in the gentle North? Will she break the cycle of horror that threatens to consume her?
Download here on Itch.io
It’s part romance, part horror story. My favorite combination.
We visit a city-state that isn’t Asher for once in the world of Aeser.
I’ve wanted to continue from some of the bad or obscure endings in Tell a Demon. You don’t have to have read Tell a Demon to play this story though.
I literally finished it in a couple of weeks for Winter VN Jam, at 6AM this morning, so there are probably still a few bugs.

Quick update for Patreon subscribers, including an excerpt from the next section of the Empress of Aeser.
This also answers the question I think some of you have been asking. Namely, will Tetrine ever confront Markaius?
The answer is... well, that depends on your choices.
My Games
Asher (Free) - A good introduction to the world, same MC as Empress of Aeser.
Goblet of Mercy (Free) - Come face to face with a egomaniacal vampire queen and try to survive the experience. A dark visual novel also set in the same universe as the Empress of Aeser and Asher.
Tell a Demon ($7.99) - Have you ever wanted to outsmart a demon?Well, you can in Tell a Demon. Choose love, confront loss, or wreak vengeance. Or some combination of each. Alter each of the three protagonist's personalities and ultimate fates. Same universe as Asher and Empress of Aeser.

In our puzzle-adventure visual novel, Empress of Aeser, there are exploration sequences where you can interact with the world. The various buttons on the exploration UI keep track of Tetrine’s personality (which changes with dialogue choices), inventory objects, documents and the calendar (the hourglass on the right).
As for the globe of red liquid? Well, you can probably guess if you’ve played Asher or Tell a Demon.

Story
Winter's Trumpet is a short interactive story (point and click format) set just a year before the events of Asher. Tetrine Reish is staying at a boarding house when the Tarsian flu epidemic sweeps across the continent. She finds herself quarantined, stealing secret moments with her suitor, Marcus, while her sociable roommate, Rosemary, is going out her mind with boredom. Rosemary disapproves of the mysterious Marcus. For one, he is always encouraging the flagrant disregard of quarantine... and besides, 'Marcus' may have a secret or two.
Meanwhile, the immortal demoness, Kalevel Venhera, is looking for someone that possesses a special Sight, a sort of magic-user called a scrivener, and after centuries she thinks she's found one... only, things don't turn out the way she expects...
Background
Very short interactive story. You can get it for a $1 on Itch.io at the moment, or if you’re on my Patreon, it’s included in the $1 tier and above.

Art and story was completed in two weeks, the rest was testing and bugfixing. (This game uses royalty free and purchased stock music.)
Buying Winter’s Trumpet helps me work on more games. Thanks for your support during times like these! Be safe, everyone.

The Story
Six months have passed since Tetrine Reish died. She did not expect to wake again, nor to find herself thrown into a world of demons. To cope with her new life, she agrees to help the ancient and mythical demoness, Kalevel Venhera, to find a cure for Kalevel’s sister, whose memories were long ago stripped away by the now dead, once immortal, Empress of Aeser. In exchange, Kalevel subdues the demon’s curse, the Hunger, and Tetrine is almost able to pretend she is still human.
Except now Kalevel is missing, and there is talk of a new immortal Empress. Now Tetrine must face what she has become all on her own, and stop the next person from rising to the Imperial throne and throwing Aeser into another age of eternal darkness.
The Game
The Empress of Aeser is a point and click adventure game featuring visual novel style choice making and story branching. Your choices influence the main character's (Tetrine's) personality, but also have a lasting impact on the story, leading to one of several endings (as of this writing, there are nine). Inventory object puzzles are closely integrated within the story and may also affect the story outcomes depending on how you choose to use them.
Development
The Empress of Aeser is currently in active development. We are raising support through our Patreon, which you can find here (there are also many public posts). We are also planning a funding campaign (most likely Kickstarter) for the Spring. The demo (comprising most of Act I), is currently available to Patreon supporters, and will be made public when we begin raising funds. Or you can pay a dollar and play the demo early.

The Empress of Aeser (Announcement Trailer) Hi all. Nearly done with the demo so posting an announcement trailer. The Empress of Aeser takes place shortly after the events of Tell a Demon and six months after the events of Asher. Like the other two stories, it features visual novel style story branching, but is also a point and click. So you can now explore and look around the world.
In the Empress of Aeser, Tetrine learns that Kalevel has gone missing, but also that the mysterious world of Aeser might also be in jeopardy as the magic that holds the world together is beginning to weaken, or so the elusive demon Markaius claims. Everywhere Tetrine turns, things seem to center around the immortal Empress. Despite that she has been dead for a hundred years, she still casts a long Shadow, and she never planned to die...

Progress screenshots from the Empress of Aeser, another story set in the same world as Tell a Demon and Asher.
This one is a point-and-click/visual novel hybrid. So now you can actually explore the world of Asher a bit. :)
