A Beautiful Palette- At the beginning of 2019 I was gifted a box of beautiful hand spun, natural dyed with mushrooms and plants skeins of wool by Brigid Weiler. To say I was thrilled is an understatement but they all needed a little TLC, untangled, washed and winded into balls. It was a big job!!! And one I completed during the last snowstorm. I have no idea what TdF day it is, but here's what I managed in the last few days:

Finished the second half of my Corriedale fluff so I had two balls to ply:

Plied Corriedale fluff 1 with Corriedale fluff 2, which once more almost made my spindle burst 🙈

But it gave me this prettiness:

Apparently I have misweighed the two "halves" by a lot because when I plied the remainder of the fluff 2 ball with itself I still got half a spindle's worth!

And plying this was an adventure.

I didn't want to try the Andean Plying Method because I didn't know how much time I actually had to play with my yarn and didn't want to wind up with the plying bracelet in inconvenient situations (like cooking).

So I thought, there must we a way to ply from one ball.

And found tutorials on how to make a Plying Ball, and how to ply from a center-pull ball (with a spinning wheel though).

But then I stumbled over a video that showed the disadvantage of plying from the center-pull ball.

And I ended up mixing things up:

First made a center-pull ball with my woolwinder. Then made a plying ball from that, but in a way that circumvented the disavantages shown in above mentioned video (I'll put the link in the comments).

This all probably took longer than trying the Andean Plying method xD But it worked out, and I'm happy I learned something new! ^_^
