Poetic woodland thoughts (pt 2);

🍄 Walk with ease, like a raft across water. Then they shall not notice you.

🍄 Windy weather in the forest feels like danger - all your senses alight with electricity.

🍄 Leaves and shadows can be deceiving.

🍄 Crushing sticks underfoot feels a lot like walking on bones.

🍄 The forest is not so very large when there are no leaves to inhabit it.

🍄 Do not ask what lies underneath the blanket of fallen leaves - you will not like it.

Poetic woodland thoughts (pt 3);

🍄 Sometimes, the presence of others is comforting, if they cannot see you.

🍄 You must move the way the forest moves, if you are to fit in.

🍄 Do not be afraid - you know these woods better than they do.

🍄 The spoils of the forest are all but lost with each passing season.

🍄 Being next to big things in nature - being beneath trees in a forest or perched on a rock next to the sea - really reminds you how small and insignificant you truly are in the world.

🍄 Stand facing the sun and close your eyes. Take in the sounds, and breathe.

Some more little thoughts I had in the woods;

🍄 Sit still by the babbling brook, and if you are quiet, she will let you jump across.

🍄 Always hide from the roaring sound. You do not want to know what it is.

🍄 The black water always pours when there’s a storm on the way.

🍄 The grass cutter is actually a wicked witch.. be careful to avoid her, or you will be cursed in the most unfortunate manner.

🍄 The woods are too large for you to worry about small things.

🍄 Rainy days are sometimes the best days for discovering things!

🌲🌳🌱 Thoughts I had while exploring the woods (Part 7):

🍄 If you hear a high pitched squeak coming from above you, run!

🍄 Just to reiterate - EVERYTHING is bigger than you.

🍄 Do not go into the forest if you are not prepared to learn it’s secrets.

🍄 There is nothing scarier than humans. Hide from them if you can.

🍄 If you hear loud, whooping calls, hide in the leaves or they’ll see you.

🍄 Never look back. You may not like what you see.

🍄 The forest floor is like an ocean - anything can be found, if only you know where to look.

🍄 Leave the uprooted trees alone, it is their resting place and they may come back to haunt you.

🍄 Fairies live in the little cracks underneath fallen logs! Take a peek, you might see one.

🍄 Shiny things gathered from the forest floor can be used as protection charms.

🌲🌳🌱 Thoughts I had while exploring the woods (Part 2):

🍄 Don’t be afraid of the marsh, but be wary.

🍄 The soft ground underfoot will swallow you if you linger too long.

🍄 Always tread twice in the marshland, and look out for holes. They are portals to other dimensions.

🍄 The rock in the middle of the marsh is safe ground.

🍄 Sometimes flag irises cry if you take too long to rehabilitate them.

🍄 Snails are your friends!!

🍄 Apple clover is perfectly edible - it grows round the base of trees!

🍄 If you suddenly lose the path, make your own. However, there comes a point where you can go no further, and that’s okay.

🍄 See a feather, pick it up, and all the day you’ll have good luck.

🍄 If you hear a hard rhythmic thumping sound, get out of there before the beast catches you.

🍄 Insects may look scary but most of them are friendly!

🍄 Always follow the sunlight.

🍄 If you see a buttercup glowing in the sunlight, pick it and take it with you. It will protect you.

🌲🌳🌿 Thoughts I had while exploring the woods (Part 1):

🍄 Sometimes it’s best not to think about what lies beneath the long grass.

🍄 Every so often, the crunching of a stone underfoot can sound like the crunch of a crushed skull.

🍄 Don’t be afraid of the buzzing - the dragonfly just wants to check you out!

🍄 There are many eyes watching you in the trees.. most of them are friendly, but be alert for the ones that watch you without blinking.

🍄 There is something fae-like about crouching in the grass, with little insects buzzing around you.

🍄 Climbing down hills is ultimately more appealing if you don’t know what lies at the bottom.

🍄 When you hear an eerie scratching sound - chances are, it’s your backpack.

🍄 Groups of Flag Irises are a gateway to the fae world.

🍄 Magpies and jackdaws seen together are extremely lucky.

🌲🌳🌱 Thoughts I had while exploring the woods (Part 6):

🍄 If you smell a rotting smell in the air - run.

🍄 Sitting cross legged in the grass restores your youth.

🍄 Everybody has a tree. Or even two, if you like trees enough!

🍄 Climb trees for as long as you are able. One day, you won’t be able to climb them anymore.

🍄 The most effective spying is done from trees.

🍄 Be careful not to snap the sticks - they might hear you.

🍄 If you ever feel the need to step out of reality, just do it. You don’t know when the next opportunity may arise.

🌲🌳🌱 Thoughts I had while exploring the woods (Part 5):

🍄 If you travel on the well-trodden path, you are unlikely to find anything interesting.

🍄 The figure that you see out of the corner of your eye is the woodland spirit. It disguises itself as fluttering leaves and tree trunks whenever you look, but it’s there.

🍄 Rabbits are the gatekeepers of the entrance to the forest.

🍄 The cemetery on the hill looks sunny only for a while - run through it while you can!

🍄 You cannot enter the forest if you are not known to it.

🍄 Never go beyond the wall.

🍄 The rain is pleasant - but it’s best to take shelter while you can!
