Being an artist is great because sometimes you make something so good you just have to step back and marvel at how you did that. And then sometimes you spend two hours carving a block of wood to end up with two cut fingers and whatever the fuck this thing is:

Well, that storm could have gone better.

The netting pulled off the barn roof (which is mostly fine, it was loosely attached because we hadn't gone back to secure it properly yet), so that will have to be re-attached once it warms up and calms down. For now, Polaris and his ladies will be in the barn only. The HEAVY and WET snow we got also pulled Pen 3's netting down strongly enough that the support posts punctured it, so Pen 3 is also confined to quarters until we can get that stapled back up. I put in an order for new netting, but it doesn't get here until the end of the month, and likely won't be able to go up until spring.

At least the birds are safe and well. They have a lot of fresh straw in their coops to bed down in, and Stan and Artemis have got a heated perch they're smart enough to use.

We have more weather and colder temps coming, so wish us luck.

catching up on well there’s your problem podcast bonus episodes, thinking about cars a lot, and a fucking fiat would serve 99.999% of my car needs perfectly well. i would be perfectly happy driving a little tiny fiat! they’re fun to drive! i got a subaru hatchback bc i knew i was moving cross country soon and wanted reasonable cargo space, and i wanted a four wheel drive vehicle for the rest of my time in w mass. i have needed to rent or borrow a truck Twice outside of major apartment moves.

however! with all these fucking pavement princess trucks in houston, where the hoods of these giant fuckoff trucks are a full head above my car’s roof, im genuinely afraid that an entire fiat would fit completely within their front blind spot and i would be squished!!!
