… for the tiny tiger au. How about Wanda and Nat freaking out thinking that R got out. Which we did, we’re alone outside. But instead of running like they think we did, we found a baby fox and start poking it and what not to see if it’s alive (cause it’s sleeping) and thinking it’s cute we bring it back to mommy and mama who are in hysterics trying to find out where we went, only to turn when tapped to find us covered in mud/dirt presenting the new friend we have to them, wide eyed kan we eep em? Mommy mama pweeesss?
Nat and Wanda don’t know what to do side eyeing one another because they don’t want their baby to cry, but also. It’s a fox.
Muddy Buddies
Paring: Mommy!Wanda Maximoff x Little!Reader x Momma!Natasha Romanoff
Warnings: this is a dark AU, wandering off into the woods, finding a friend, fluff, heavy MD/LG, needles, rabies shots
A/N: This immediately reminds me of this video I saw where this kid found a raccoon and is crying because she can’t take him home 😭 Another small drabble for Into The Tiny Verse:) Also, I'm so sorry. I am so tired so if it sounds like a 10-year-old wrote this (my vocab sucks when I'm tired) then just- Idk bear with me here 😭
Your little self was none the wiser when an opportunity to go outside came up. You didn't have any intention of escaping from your new caregivers, all you wanted to do was go on an adventure with your lion! And when this opportunity came up, you took it.
Natasha had just returned from her trip to town, grocery bags in her arms. Usually, she was much better at keeping an eye on you when Wanda was busy, and when she didn't see you come running to the door to say hi to her, she figured you were asleep or with your mommy.
At this point, you were now a couple feet into the forest surrounding the cabin. Not wanting to scare your mommies, you never lost sight of the house. That is until a little hint of orange just a little further inside the trees caught your eye.
Your curiosity moved your feet closer to the unknown blob of color, and once you saw it you let out a soft gasp. Your hand covered your mouth and you moved just a little closer.
It was a baby fox!
Looking around, you grab a stick with some leaves still on it and you kneel down next to the still fox. Is it dead? Your head pushes. Why isn't the mother here? Another question you ask yourself. With the stick in your hand, you gently poke the soft bum of the fox. The animal twitches, and you jump in surprise. Dropping the stick, you crawl to it, not caring about the mud on your pants or hands.
The small fox squeaks, and opens her little eyes, looking up at you. However, it did not run away. Instead, she yawned and got up from her position on the muddy forest floor. She stretches and even approaches you. Carefully, you hold your hand out and you smile as the fox's wet nose sniffs your fingers.
"Aren't chu jus' the chutest ting?" You whisper, scratching the fox's chin. "Yous name is Butto! (Butter)"
Butter lets out a small whine and a raspy bark, and you pick her up. She looks around as you stand up with her, and she slightly starts to struggle. You hold her comfortably tight, and you walk quickly back to the cabin.
Upon entering the cabin once again, you hear your mommies' worried voices. They shouldn't be worried... I'm right here! They don't hear you come in through the front door, too focused on reviewing the camera footage from outside of the warm abode. The two women don't even hear you enter their office!
Holding Butter and Leo (your lion) in one arm, you gently tap Wanda's shoulder to get her attention with the other hand. Her head snaps to the side, her eyes widening when she sees you. "Tiny! Oh my- Oh, and tiny's friend..." She says with a hesitant laugh, pulling her hands away from your muddy self and your muddy friend.
You tilt your head at her reaction to you but shake it off to ask the more important question at hand. You look up at the woman with doe eyes, "kan we eep em? Mommy mama pweeesss?" Wanda and Nat look at each other, surprised to say the least, but not wanting to hear you cry if they take your friend away.
"Who- uh- who is this, little one?" Natasha says, looking down at the fox in your arms.
"Her name Butto'" You say nonchalantly, as if it was just a new stuffed animal.
"Butter?" Wanda confirms and looks at her wife, eyes wide and asking for some type of support. Natasha can’t help but chuckle, and she kneels down in front of you.
“Tiny, I know this little one looks like a friend, but these little guys are tedious. They aren’t very friendly,” Nat frowns, starting to take the fox from your arms.
“Nnnnooooo! No she fren, mama, she nice,” you protest, pulling yourself away from the woman. “She tan stay wif me in m’room, and she can snuggle wif us!”
Wanda and Natasha devise a plan to get the little fox away from you and back to its mother, and they do that by putting you outside with Butter. In the backyard of course.
Butter in fact wasn’t nice. She scratched you, bit you, and made you cry, but your intentions on keeping her never wavered. Your little brain was just seeing another friend, and that’s all you thought this little fox was.
Wanda offered you a deal. “How about we make a trade?” She asks with a smile. “How about I take Butter, and you take Pancakes?” Your mommy pulls a plush fox from behind her back, and you tilt your head. “Just like you need mommy to take care of you, so does little Butter, and we need to get her back to her mommy.” Wanda says, and you start to understand.
“Butter has mommy too?” You ask, tears forming in your eyes at the thought of being taken away from your caretakers. Wanda nods softly and takes Butter from your hands.
“Yeah, so let’s get her back to her home and we can play with Pancakes all night. How does that sound?” Wanda asks you, finally pulling the baby fox from your scratched up hands.
Natasha had contacted Bruce Banner. He may be a human doctor, but he knows where this little fox can go to get real care. He even said that you and your mommies could visit her too! While Wanda held you in her arms, Natasha was distracting you while Bruce gave you a few rabies shots, and a few other vaccines to help you stay healthy after touching a wild animal.
You were not a fan of needles, and the two women knew that.
As you waved goodbye to Bruce and Butter, you sighed softly. “Butto’ sc’atched me,” you sniffle, looking down at your hands that now stung.
“Oh honey, it’s ok, let’s go get you cleaned up for dinner, ok?” Wanda says, picking you up bridal-style and taking you to the bathroom to wash up.
Once your bath was finished, Wanda bandaged your hands and arms and got you all warmed up in your pjs. After dinner, your mommies kept their promise and you played with your new (fluff-filled) friend until you fell asleep!
“We need to watch her carefully…” Natasha chuckles, stroking her knuckle over your sleeping face.
Wanda nods, “Agreed!”

i'm pitching kaos exclusively to ofmd fans bc i think it's a show that is right up our alley, plus it's on netflix which is the service that djenks is currently trying to get the attention of, so why don't we show them what we're capable of in terms of audience numbers? 😏
for starters, kaos does what tumblr loves, which is take existing ips and give them a modern twist. we got to see that firsthand with bbc sherlock and elementary (and to a lesser extent, house md), and even though ofmd is kept in its historical setting of the 1700's, it's anachronistic af what with all the modern lingo and therapy speak
kaos is extremely queer, obviously a show that is based off of greek mythology not being queer would be weird, but it's not just that there are an abundance of queer characters, you can tell the show itself has queer writers (the showrunner is nonbinary) and queer people working behind the scenes. the queer characters all have a story beyond their identity, there's no unnecessary commentary on their queerness or any fixed labels, queer people just exist and are very much characters instead of caricatures. there's a wide array of queerness across the board-- the fates are portrayed by trans/nonbinary actors, the furies are motorcycle riding butch lesbians, and caeneus is portrayed by a trans man (his story is interwoven with his identity)
more than half of the cast are poc-- poseidon is portrayed by a māori actor, eurydice and persephone are black women, and honestly there's so many characters of color it'd be hard to include them all in this post without like, spoiling the whole season lol
there's disability rep in this show as well, with several supporting characters that don't hide their disability onscreen and play crucial roles to the plot
most importantly, it's a show that delves into deep topics while still remaining a comedy, it's not afraid to be a bit camp at times and it doesn't take itself too seriously. i know a lot of ofmd fans have no interest in shows like iwtv bc although it's very queer and has it's comedic moments, it's not remotely in the same genre nor has the same vibe as ofmd, plus "queer media" isn't one single genre to begin with. so i genuinely do think kaos is a show ofmd fans would appreciate, and idk, maybe it could fill a little bit of the hole ofmd left and tide us over until we receive news about netflix picking ofmd up or... dare i say, grant us a third season?

why i think serial designation n is bisexual 🩷💜💙
i made a thread about uzi being bisexual and i thought of doing n as well (since he seems bi coded too). i posted the thread on twitter (ivzura) so i will post it here as well. the points is the same from the uzi post (bi lighting and attraction) which you can read it from here, but i will repeat on this post and again, i am bisexual myself and it’s my thoughts and perspectives. it will be short since we only have 6 ep rn
-
• bi lighting
like i said, bisexual lighting are used where bisexual characters are portrayed under the colors of pink, purple and blue to show they’re bisexual
just like uzi, n is also under bi lightings
same knife dance scene, colorful and flashy, but the moment they had their personal talk, it stopped to a specific color (pink, purple, and blue). when n throwed uzi, the colors went back to being colorful and flashy. it would’ve continued to being flashy and colorful during their personal moment but it didn’t, it stopped and it stop to only 3 colors, the green wasn’t there until n throwed uzi
again with sentinels, their eyes are blue/white and it would’ve flashed to those colors when they flashed on nuzi, but instead pink, purple and blue appeared. those colors usually appears when nuzi are together and how the first one flashing to the audience would’ve been like that on nuzi, but didn’t
• attraction
i received biphobic replies on twitter from my uzi tweet which is very upsetting to see ppl not understanding about the attraction part when i explained on it. ppl still bringing up “uzi doesn’t show attraction to any women” and “uzi have no good relationship with women so therefore she can’t be bi.” uzi doesn’t have to show attraction to the same gender. not every bi characters have too (either same, opposite or other gender). also, no good relationship with any gender ≠ no attraction, we can have bad experiences with any gender and still be attracted to them. uzi have bad experiences with both men AND women until n, thad and v (warmed up to her) came along.
-
now with n, we know his love interest is uzi but he does show attraction to men by ep 2 when he gave the guy an apology drawing note. he first look at the guy hanging the apology on the door and blushed, but then he looked straight down at him and he is STILL blushing
i really don’t want anyone to use n and uzi are robots as an excuse to be biphobic. robots in md are nowhere close to resembling actual robots. the drones have hair, feelings, personalities, etc. they are sentient. why is it any different of them having sexualities?? let’s not forget about lizzy and v. so i don’t want to hear any “n and uzi are binary code.” anyway, n and uzi are bisexuals and we need more bi4bi in media

The first Torrid store - Brea Mall - Brea, CA (Opened April 18, 2001)
Designed by JGA, Inc.
From the book: “The retailer, Hot Topic, based in City of Industry, CA, started a short 12 years ago with a concept and a target market; cutting edge apparel, accessories and novelty items--all inspired by alternative music, oriented towards a hip and trendy, teenage market. Hot Topic changed the look of their retail settings, which are usually located in mainstream malls, and the company has recently taken aim at another special market. The new focus is on plus-size teens; an area that the fashion market seems to have neglected.
Up until this time the 15-30 year old hip and trendy young women who wear sizes 14-26 had no other choice but to shop in the larger size women's shops where the fashions were tailored to the more matronly and conservative tastes. That is how Torrid was born!
Torrid was introduced in a new, hot and fun retail setting designed by JGA, Inc. of Southfield, MI which has designed the various prototypes for the Hot Topic stores as well. To be sure of the need for such a niche to be filled, the company opened five Torrid shops almost simultaneously; the first in Brea, CA, followed by stores in malls in Mission Viejo, CA, Annapolis, MD, Omaha, NE, N. Attleboro, MA, and Littleton, CO. The merchandise offerings are clustered as "Streetwear," "Clubwear," Rockabilly Wear," and Renaissance Wear" and the stores average about 2,750 SF. Besides the "everyday" slacks and novelty T-shirts, these larger size young women can find black vinyl pants and mini-skirts, black corsets, dog-collar chokers and platform shoes as well as retro-inspired clothing and accessories. In addition to the gothic and prom dresses, Torrid also carries a full line of lingerie for this particular market. Listening to the target market, Hot Topic's Torrid offers teenagers and up the opportunity to look "girly yet fierce."
The design objective for the prototype store that was designed by JGA, Inc. was to create "a celebration of abundance" and make the setting as unique, unconventional and spirited as the plus-size young women who will be shopping here. Inspired by a "mythological, after-hours club in New Orleans," the atmosphere is romantic, dark and filled with a sense of "unbridled passion." "From the signature flaming heart icon to the curving voluptuous lines throughout the store, excessive materials and scale mirror the zest of the Torrid woman." It starts out front with the shopper-stopping facade which serves as a dramatic gateway to the store.
The curvaceous and sensuous "hourglass" figures of the Torrid customer is expressed in the hand-crafted metalwork and the backlit translucent glass glowing red. A "drippy" red chandelier and the hand blown flaming heart torcheres add to the store's distinctive sense of place and being. The mosaic porcelain tile floor sets the color palette of jewel tones and metallics. "Visually complex, layers of finishes and architectural pieces evoke a one-of-a-kind artistic flavor." The eclectic mix of fixtures, furniture and furnishings-even the armoires--add to the New Orleans flavor. The hand painted, whimsical and overscaled armoires or cabinets are used to anchor the various zones within the store and at the center of the space a large bronze metallic drape further divides the departments.
The designers added special touches to each area to create that unique, one-of-a-kind feeling to the design. Specially designed, oversized red sculptured chairs with slatted backs are featured in the shoe area. Shoes and accessories are displayed on the slatted backs. The lingerie area takes on a more intimate and exotic--almost Moroccan--feeling with the hand blown glass chandeliers suspended down from large plaster domes. Seen behind this area--beyond a hand painted wall and arc--are the individual, oversized dressing rooms which are equipped with flattering uplights and decorative chandeliers that are visible from other parts of the store. The cash wrap becomes a "focal fantasy" in the total design and it resembles a giant canopy bed topped with twisting shapes and forms.
The space is filled with a pulsating excitement that is so appropriate for the merchandise and the young clientele. In addition to the shimmering palette of rich, deep colors, the warm colored downlights not only enrich the ambient colors and textures but they enhance the merchandise display. The traditional long and narrow mall space is broken up into more personal and individual zones by the variations in ceiling heights, the tin ceilings, finials and the assorted wall coverings. The use of brocades, metallics, and jewel tones on the walls also help to differentiate areas in the store. The metal fixture system--tortoise shell like in appearance--was customized to accommodate the products unique size and length requirements.
If all goes as well as anticipated we can expect to see more and more Torrid shops opening up across the USA- maybe even as many as 700 outlets!”

[ID: A traditionally drawn and digitally colored drawing of Fedallah, Starbuck, and Ahab genderbent as women and wearing out-of-era outfits. Fedallah is a lean older middle-aged Persian woman with a light mustache, wearing a Zoroastrian headscarf, a white button down shirt with a black fashion harness belted over her torso. She wears black pants with four brass buttons on each side. She is smiling coyly and standing with her hip slightly cocked. Starbuck is a thin and buff middle aged white woman with short, wavy hair, freckles, and a light mustache. She is wearing a small jean vest over dress pants. The vest shows her stomach, which has a lightly visible happy trail, and the wrappings of a chest binder beneath. Starbuck is standing rigidly with her arms behind her back, looking off neutrally to the side. Ahab is a fat and buff older middle-aged Persian woman with curly graying hair in a bun, and scars over her face and body, including a lightning scar over the left side of her face. She is wearing a tight black dress with a deep v-neck that ties back behind her neck. She is standing with a neutral expression and holding a harpoon in one hand as she looks at the other two women.
Next there are three photos of the live performers: Danielle McKnight, a thin Black woman with shoulder-length curly hair wearing the same outfit as Fedallah without the headscarf, Courtney Basset, a thin white woman with chest-length straight auburn hair wearing the same outfit as Starbuck, and Grace McLean, a thin white woman with shoulder-length brown hair wearing the same outfit as Ahab. Danielle sings into a mic with a hand extended, looking sternly down over at Ahab. Courtney sings with a smile, holding her mic to her chest. Grace is not singing, and is combing back her hair with both hands, eyes closed. End ID.]
been having what the kids call an Extremely Normal Time about the concept album Kill The Whale* lately so I decided to draw my butch/genderbent designs of the characters in the outfits their album counterparts wear in the live show. im so fukcign gay 😀👍
*For any who don't know, Kill The Whale is a concept musical album based on MobyDick that genderbends much of the crew! There's a love triangle between Starbuck, Ahab, and Fedallah (with some incredible nuances about Fedallah being exotified/fetishized for her prophecies and then her later taking back control of herself). It is very wlw and fascinatingly composed. However comma there are also Extensive Critiques on this as an adaptation of MD (particularly in reference to racebending and really altering character narratives) so. proceed with awareness! i will be saying more later lol
EDIT: Thank you so much to the folks who caught that I had Danielle's name wrong!!!! I owe you my life!!!! 🙏

Yo guys i think i have a game theory up my sleeve.
Yo, what if mimic from fnaf is the true first absolute solver host from md? By host, i mean more a temporary body of sorts considering that the mimic’s body is lierally just an endo. Cyn and Mimic both have simallar abilities, same eye color and murderious tendancies and ect. Aint no way these are seperate entities. Considering that the mimic has shown to favour women over men, that explains why theres no male absolute solver hosts so far, unless that Khan Theory turns out to be true. Theres a good chance this is a just a weird coincidence. I gotta admit, this theory is like REALLY REALLY out there, its more of a headcanon than anything else. Just wanted to kinda share my thoughts on here.
Feel free to point out some mistakes i made with theory/headcanon thing bc i’m not as much into fnaf lore as i used to. It would be really helpful.

do you have any inspo pics for gl/md lucemond kids outfits?
i pull inspiration from a lot of different sources when i’m imagining them. show styling is always a safe bet, but i like to imagine the different houses having different cultural influence. for the boys, i think of traditional english and nordic outfits. lots of tunics and leathers. as for the girls, i REALLY like italian renaissance type dresses. whereas a lot of women wear stiff, straight and rather dull colored materials, i envision the girls in poofy dresses made of softer colors. they all of course dress in traditional targaryen colors but aemond spoils his daughters especially so they’ve got an array of dresses. i also really like russian traditional attire but i apply that to luke the most

Long and thorough article. Choice paragraphs below showing every step of the way is compromised:
“In May 2021, the AMA released its Organizational Strategic Plan to Embed Racial Justice and Advance Health Equity, “dedicated to embedding racial justice” in all medical practice. Among the plans key priorities is one whose implications for medical education and medical school admissions are readily apparent: “Develop structures and processes to consistently center the experiences and ideas of historically marginalized (women, LGBTQ+, people with disabilities, International Medical Graduates) and minoritized (Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Asian and other people of color) physicians.”
The medical profession’s leaders, almost without exception or dissent, now vigorously enforce this new orthodoxy of anti-racism. Most notably, they have designed and implemented a new version of medical education explicitly grounded in ideology rather than scientific excellence. In pursuit of this project, the president of the AAMC (which accredits U.S. medical schools) and the chair of the AAMC’s Council of [Medical School] Deans stated publicly in July 2022: “We believe this topic [Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion] deserves just as much attention from learners and educators at every stage of their careers as the latest scientific breakthroughs.”
The AAMC’s DEI Competencies, issued in October 2021, details the new required social justice skills that medical students must acquire. In addition, the AAMC has discouraged the use of the rigorous Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) as a filter to help select medical students. Dozens of the 158 allopathic (MD granting) U.S. medical schools have made the MCAT optional. Several medical schools, including the prestigious University of Pennsylvania, have programs to admit students from designated “underrepresented” identity groups without requiring the submission of MCAT scores at all. The MCAT itself has been revised to include social justice questions that are easy to ace because the answers are always the same: structural racism is the cause of any group disparities that disfavor underrepresented groups. But even this re-engineered test shows persistent group disparities in test scores, which means that Asian applicants must score almost 4 times higher than black applicants to have an equal chance of admission.”
The MCAT was the only aspect of the entire application process which demonstrated true aptitude for a science/medical based curriculum. And they’re largely doing away with it.
And it isn’t just medical schools. The indoctrination and dumbing down of standards continues through residency/fellowship and practice. Example: This is how certain hospitals come to the forefront to promote the trans mutilation. Brigham and Womens Hospital in Boston being one of the worst.
Emergency Medicine is another example. EM is represented by ACEP:
👆the president of ACEP (black female naturally-not a racist comment-just an observation for a demographic that is less than 5% of emergency medicine physicians) actively OPPOSES that anti-DEI legislation.
And to prevent trolls citing the usual lazy dumb denial of sOuRcE???? for that 5% statistic, here it is:

A Lesser-Known Modernism Inspired by African-American Culture
The Whitney Museum of American Art is presenting the career retrospective “Archibald Motley: Jazz Age Modernist,” which includes “Black Belt” (1934).Credit... Hampton University Museum, Hampton, Virginia, Valerie Gerrard Browne
ByHolland Cotter Oct. 1, 2015
I don’t know how museums plot their seasons, but it was a good plan to have “Archibald Motley: Jazz Age Modernist” be the first career retrospective to appear at the Whitney Museum of American Art’s new home. Motley is an important but still understudied figure. The show itself is neither large nor hot off-the-shelf. (It originated at the Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University and has been traveling; this is the last stop.) But it has features that many bigger, sexier exhibitions lack: an affecting narrative, a distinctive atmosphere and a complicated political and moral tenor. It’s a tight, rich package. You take it away with you, complete.
And part of what you take away is an alternative version of the American modernism on which the Whitney is based. This other modernism developed outside of New York. It didn’t adopt abstraction as its defining advance style. It absorbed what was happening in Europe, but found its main power source in American culture, and specifically African-American culture. Archibald J. Motley Jr. — he used his full name professionally — was a primary player in this other tradition.
He was born in New Orleans in 1891 and three years later moved with his family to Chicago, which would become his permanent home. His African-born paternal grandmother, a former slave, came with them. There his father, a child of slaves, found work as a Pullman porter. His mother, of mixed racial descent, ran the house. When Motley’s teenage sister, Flossie, had a child, Willard, out of wedlock, the family raised him to believe that his mother and his uncle were his older siblings.

Altogether, it was a household in which traditionally fixed categories of race and lineage were somewhat fluid. So was its relationship to class. The Motleys lived outside the so-called Black Belt of Chicago, the strictly demarcated African-American area also referred to as Bronzeville, on the city’s South Side. Their home was in a largely white immigrant neighborhood. Motley was one of the few black students at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he received classical, European-based training as a painter. He married a white woman, Edith Granzo, his high school sweetheart.
Calibration of racial and social status by color is an underlying theme in the early portraits that open the exhibition, organized by Richard J. Powell, an art historian at Duke, and Carter E. Foster of the Whitney. Motley believed that information about the biology of race was important for both whites and blacks to have in the interest of mutual understanding.

In a 1924 picture, a dark-skinned older women dressed in a gingham dress and head scarf is identified as “Mammy.” A painting done a year later of a lighter-skinned young woman in a chic flapper cap is titled “The Octoroon Girl,” using a term once applied to someone with one-eighth black ancestry. In a 1930 nude portrait, Motley’s wife stands erect, arms down, face forward, glowing gold, as if posed for an epidermal inspection. A year later, in a more relaxed painting called “Brown Girl After Bath,” the glow remains, but gold has been exchanged for copper.
These images surround Motley’s own 1933 “Self-Portrait (Myself at Work),” which, ethnically speaking, gives little away. Dressed in a smock and beret, the artist, who by then had spent a year in Paris, looks neither distinctly black nor white, just seriously Continental. A neo-Classical statuette stands on his worktable. A crucifix hangs on the wall. (Motley was a practicing Roman Catholic.) He holds a big palette in one hand and conjures a nude model, Pygmalion-style, with his brush. He was at this point already nearing the peak of his professional success. The historian and activist W. E. B. Du Bois had publicly called him “a credit to the race,” though there is little of an obvious race man in the image here.

This doesn’t mean that he kept himself at a remove from black popular culture. His deep but controlled immersion in it — wading in, stepping back — is what the exhibition as a whole is about. From an early age he had been a regular visitor to the Black Belt entertainment strip of jazz clubs, theaters, cafes and gambling joints known as the Stroll. And a section of the exhibition called “Nights in Bronzeville” is a record, in paintings, of his time spent there. If his portraits are an effort to capture and codify variations in racial appearance, his Bronzeville scenes, and their Paris equivalents, which he produced from the late 1920s onward, are attempts to find visual correlatives for the sounds of black music and colloquial black speech.
“Saturday Night,” from 1935, is a club scene. It takes what Motley learned about figure painting, color and composition, pushes that through an Expressionist filter, and sets it to a sinuous, thumping jazz score. The room is soaked in vermilion light. The band is far in the background, but its rhythms pulse through in the body of a single dancer who sways between the tables.

The same energy fills the night in “Carnival” from 1937, only now the music comes, outdoors, from an accordion-playing minstrel-show figure regaling a crowd of fairgoers. The smartly dressed visitors chat and preen. Stars shine overhead. A fat man in a straw skimmer, looking oddly isolated, moves through the center of the scene.
That man, or his equivalent, shows up in many of Motley’s city pictures. He’s an outrageous racial caricature: round-faced, popeyed, thick-lipped, a cartoon. Mr. Powell, in the catalog, pegs him as Motley’s alter ego, his way of acknowledging a feeling of distance from blackness but also an investment so thorough as to allow him to play with it, mess with it from the inside, as well as from the outside, pre-emptively expressing the racist hostility that is an unabating condition of American life. It’s a tactic used by writers like Zora Neale Hurston in Motley’s time, and in our own by comedians like Richard Pryor and artists like Robert Colescott and Kara Walker.
Motley continued to explore this risky mode of depicting social realities for the rest of his career which, gradually, went into decline. After his wife’s death in 1948, he made extended trips to Mexico, where his nephew Willard, a successful novelist, lived. Back in Chicago, to support his mother, who had remarried after his father’s death, he took a job with a company designing shower curtains. In 1955, he was jailed for six months for assaulting her abusive husband. In 1963, in his 70s, he began his last painting.
“The First One Hundred Years,” finished in 1972, was Archibald Motley’s final painting, and with its sweepingly topical content, it’s like no other picture he ever made. Credit... Collection of Mara Motley, MD, and Valerie Gerrard Browne
With its epic-length title — “The First One Hundred Years: He Amongst You Who Is Without Sin Shall Cast the First Stone; Forgive Them Father for They Know Not What They Do” — and sweepingly topical content, it’s like no other picture he ever made. Set in a twilight blue space, it has the mood of a composite-style nightmare to which new elements were added over time: an African mask paired with a human skull; a devil’s head and a peace dove; a Ku Klux Klan figure and the Statue of Liberty, and a “coloreds only” sign; a lynching and a crucifixion. And dead center is a man’s head in the format of a bust-length portrait, with the face blacked out.
This painting, hung on a wall by itself, ends the show, just as Motley’s confident 1933 studio self-portrait began it. When he finished “The First One Hundred Years” in 1972, he put his brushes down and painted nothing more in the remaining nine years of his life. His work ends in profound political anger and in unambiguous identification with African-American history. I would say that, behind his gracious portraits and his later, radical, jazz-scored scenes of black urban life, those feelings were in some measure ever-present. They help explain his art’s unforgettably puzzling texture and its surprising weight.
“Archibald Motley: Jazz Age Modernist” runs through Jan. 17 at the Whitney Museum of American Art; 212-570-3600, whitney.org.

❀ A/N: Requested by @boredandneedfanfics :) Thank you for the request! I hope this turned out ok!!:)
You were the third piece to the puzzle of Wanda and Natasha Romanoff. In the midst of chaos and turmoil, you, Wanda, and Natasha found security in each other's presence. The relationship blossomed unexpectedly like untouched land suddenly blooming with flowers. With Wanda's warm personality, Natasha's need to protect, and your vulnerability and honesty, the three of you were united in a trinity of love and adoration for each other.
It wasn’t odd that the pair of Avengers were looking for a third person for their relationship. They had dated other people as well but became infatuated with you. You said you would try anything at least once, and a three-way relationship was something you had never tried. Now that you have, you have never felt more loved and adored. You, Wanda, and Natasha were made for each other. The past behind each of the characters the three of you possessed may have been different, but being together made you realize that you needed them.
It had been a couple of weeks since you defined what the relationship was, whether that be just a fling or a for-sure thing. You were so happy that they had chosen you to be their girlfriend, and when you were intimate with them it got even better. Not that sex is everything, but the way they make you feel during sex is definitely a plus. (Sorry that was self-indulgent)
It had become known to Wanda and Nat that you loved to be held by them. Not only during movie night when you lay in the middle of both of them, your head in Wanda's lap and your legs draped over Natasha's lap. But also, when your legs were being held wide open by Natasha's strong hands while Wanda devoured your pussy with her tongue, pulling you through orgasm after orgasm until you couldn’t take it anymore. In a way, you felt secure and safe even if you were constricted.
When you felt insecure, they would be all over you telling you how beautiful and loved you are. Or how each little line, curve, blemish, or freckle on your body was just perfect. How your skin shone in the sun and glowed in the moonlight. On hard days when you felt like a shell of yourself, they were there to hold you until you felt better or read to you when you felt tired or needed a break.
One thing the three of you loved to do was bathe together. Whether that be showering together in the morning before you all went to work, or at night when Wanda sat out on the floor while Natasha held you in the warm water filled in the clawfoot bathtub. While Natasha washed your body, Wanda's hands worked wonders in your [enter hair length and color] hair, suds filling the tub as they helped you rinse off the soap.
While getting to know you throughout this whole relationship was such a joy, and they could not wait to propose to you when they got the chance. They felt confident and felt they knew you like the back of their hands, better than yourself. But you knew just a little bit more than them. You had planned never to tell your lovers what lies beneath the inner layer of your mind; a second personality that made its way into your head before you joined the pair.
You would become a smaller version of yourself, becoming more. Your parents were never there for you when you were younger, so having the control to become little again felt like a good option. You kept stuffed animals at the top of your closet, coloring books in a drawer by your bed, and a small chest of clothes that you feel comfortable yet young in again. Your favorite? The onesie that makes you look like you a teddy bear!
You vowed to never show the two most important women in your life this side of you in fear that they would abandon you. Some days you you felt like it would be the perfect time to tell them, but other days they would joke with Bucky and Steve about things they do with Peter who has already come out to them as a little. There was not anyone who knew about this mindset you had, and you feared that you would have to keep it like that.
One morning as the three of you were lying in bed, you smiled as Natasha threw one of her arms over your waist as you lay against Wanda's chest. No one had to work today, and you felt today may be a perfect time to tell them.
“Wanda? Natasha?” You whisper, wanting to slowly wake them up and not startle them. You felt a little bit of movement behind you from Nat, and you smiled as you felt her lips press small kisses along the nape of your neck.
“Good morning, ангел (angel), how did you sleep?” Natasha asks in a small whisper, gently tickling your arm as you roll over, careful not to wake Wanda up as you do so. You shrug at Nat's question, starting to feel your little self take over. But you push her back, keeping your big mindset still.
“I always sleep so well with you two holding me.” You quickly cover up your shyness, and smile up at her. She kisses your head and tears begin to prick at your eyes. The small gestures pulling the little girl in your head closer and closer to the surface.
Without wanting to wait any longer, you sigh and say quickly, “I'm a little,” You cover your face, not wanting to be confronted yet. Tears spilled from your eyes and into your hands, and Natasha gently shook Wanda awake. You realize what you said and you quickly shake your head. “I'm sorry, I- I don’t mean to push anything, I just got nervous, and I just c-cant hide this from you anymore. I understand if you want to break up, or- or if you want to leave me and never come back.”
Wanda sits up during your little rant, and she immediately pulls you into her arms. She looks to Natasha and mouths water and she nods, getting up from the bed to get you a well-needed drink. As she returns, she gently turns you around and puts the glass of water to your lips. Gratefully you take a sip and let out a soft breath.
“Can we talk about this, ангел?” Nat asks, rubbing your back softly. You nod and sniffle as more tears begin to fall.
“You aren’t mad, a-are you?” You ask, Wanda, shaking her head while looking at Nat.
“No, bábätko (Slovak for Baby) of course we are not mad. Just a little unsuspecting of such a statement. We will never leave you, baby, I promise. What made you think of something like that?” Wanda answers, tucking a piece of hair behind your ear.
You sigh softly and look at the two of them. “I- I just didn’t know if you would want t-to, to- I don’t know… I just don’t want to be abandoned, especially by you two. Y-you mean the world to me and I don’t want to ruin that for some stupid feeling I have about myself.” You look down at your lap, fiddling with the strings of your pajama bottoms.
Wanda kisses your forehead and holds you to her chest. “Angel, how about you tell us about it? Why don’t we learn about it and help you?” She looks up at Nat and she happily agrees. “We can learn how to do this with you.”
Looking up at them again, you feel a wave of relief washes over you. “R-really? Do you want to do that with me? I- I don’t- I don’t want it to be weird…” You whisper, knowing that Natasha can’t have kids. As you roll the string around your thumb, it unravels and the two women take both of your hands.
“We would love nothing more, baby girl. We want to be here for you in every aspect of your life.” Natasha smiles down at you, careful of her words as she observes your reactions. Wanda agrees and gives your hand a squeeze.
You smile up at them and nod softly. “O-ok, thank you… I love you both so much!” You exclaim, and you begin telling them everything about your little space. From your favorite Disney movies to the things you color, the clothes you wear, to each name you have given your stuffed animals. They were thrilled when you asked them to be your Mommies.
Mommy Wanda and Mama Nat. Those were titles they could get used to. It made them smile when you said their mommy titles, to get their attention or to just say hi. You say them just to say them sometimes because it makes the two women so happy and makes them smile.
You explained that you and Peter were a lot alike, liking the same colors and coloring pages and other things. Once Wanda and Natasha told Steve and Bucky about you, they told Peter that he has another friend in the compound. He was ecstatic to say the least! And so were you.
What happened more often than not was ‘tingling in my princess parts’. That's what you called them at least. But your mommies knew exactly what to do. When these little episodes occurred, they helped you through it and made you feel so good, inside and out. Never in their life had they thought they would be something like this to you, but it made them feel so important.
On one occasion, you were watching a movie with Peter and you sat back against a pillow, making your princess parts slightly tingle. You whimper and pick up your stuffed bear named Bubbles and went to find one of your mommies. You found them talking in the kitchen, and you kneeled down and tugged on Nat's long sleeve shirt. She looked down at you with a smile, “What’s going on, baby? Is everything ok?”
You whimper and hide your face in her thigh, holding your bear over your nether regions trying to hint to them that you were tingly. Wanda took notice and kneeled down with you. “Oh, is our little angel feeling a little tingly down there?” She asks in a high voice, cupping your cheek as you nod desperately. “Let's go take care of you.”
She gently picks you up, and you nuzzle your face into her cheek. As you reach the bedroom, Nat walks around getting everything they need to take care of you. She grabs your paci, some towels, a small vibrator, and your blanket. Wanda lays you down on the bed, setting a pillow up behind your head, and smiles down at you. She gently kisses your lips, and then to your nose, smiling as you giggle softly.
“Alright baby, let's take care of you,” Nat says as she kneels next to you, gently unzipping your onesie. As your skin becomes more exposed, you get a little shy and hide your face behind your stuffy. The women above you chuckle and Wanda pulls the stuffy down from your face.
“There’s our girl!” She says, smiling brightly as you giggle and kick your legs lightly. As Wanda distracts you up top, Natasha is pulling your onesies pants off of your legs, and gently removing your panties.
“Oh baby, you’re so wet down here, why didn’t you tell us sooner?” Nat coos, gently caressing your folds that quiver and wait in anticipation for any type of friction. With a whimper, you listen to Nat and shrug.
“Was watchin’ movie wif Peet,” You say softly, and sniffle as a pulsing need for touch aches within your core.
Your two mommies look at each other, and sigh. “You’ve gotta tell us baby, or we can’t help you. Good job telling us when you did, or we would have had a little problem.” She says, gently sliding her fingers into your quivering hole. You let out a small whimper as she enters your pussy, and you squeeze your bear tightly.
“Oh? You made such a mess down here, love. What are we going to do?” Wanda frowns softly, placing her hand on your belly to keep you still for Natasha, her thumb rubbing gently against your skin. “Looks like we have to make up for the time you didn’t tell us, love. How long did you wait?”
You think about it for a second and you hold up two fingers. “Two movies, mommy… a-and a coloring page wif Peet…” You say, feeling like you did something wrong.
“That's ok baby, we are gonna get rid of these tingles, but we gotta give you two cummies to make sure we’ve got allllll the tingles. Ok, angel?” Wanda says, making you whimper. Two cummies? M’gonna be so sensitive… you think to yourself. You nod in response to your Mommy, hugging your stuffy impossibly tighter.
Natasha kneels between your legs, spreading them so she has enough room to work. “Are you ready baby? We’re gonna take such good care of you.” She smiles, her fingers tickling soft circles on your inner thighs. She spreads your folds and presses her finger to your little button, making you jolt in reaction to her. “Oh, someone's sensitive today, aren’t we? Is that cream helping you, baby?” You nod, remembering the sensitivity cream they put on your clit every morning when they help you get dressed.
Wanda smiles and reaches for the vibrator, turning it on to a higher setting. “Alright, angel. Let's get started.” She says and as Nat holds your pussy open to both of them, Wanda presses the vibrator to your clit lightly. Humming at your reaction, she presses her hand down on your belly to keep you still. “Hold still baby, we don’t want to ruin anything, ok?” She says, rubbing the vibrating bulb in circles around your puffy clit.
“M-mommy…” You whimper, closing your eyes as the vibrations take over your sensations. Everything feels so, so good, and your mommies take notice. Wanda pushes the vibrator straight on the head of your clit, and Natasha pushes her fingers in and out of you in a steady rhythm.
Already you can feel your orgasm start to form, and Natasha can tell just by the way your cunt squeezes around her fingers. “Mmmm, does that feel good baby? Does Mama’s fingers feel so good inside of you?” All you can do is nod and bite down on the paci that Wanda puts to your lips. You nod over and over again, a small squeak leaving your mouth as you cum. Your walls pulse around Nat's fingers and you whine as Wanda does not move the vibrator from your oh-so-sensitive clit.
“Remember baby? You didn’t tell us when you were feeling tingly, so we have to give you two cummies. Be good for us, ok?” Wanda says, turning up the vibrator to its max setting. Natasha adds one more finger, making it three full fingers inside of you, making you arch your back and your legs shake.
Wanda holds you in place so they can make you cum one more time before you lay down for your nap. They smile as you squeeze Bubbles, the bear looking as if the fluff is going to pop out of its seams. The two women above you continue to play with your cunt, and you can’t contain the tears of pleasurable pain as your sensitive clit is played with.
Natasha pumps her fingers in and out of your wet hole, smiling as your walls start to pulse again letting her know of your second orgasm. With the help of her fingers, your second orgasm comes within seconds, and your legs shake around Natasha's body. Your juices flow from your body and onto the towels placed beneath you. You pant in exhaustion, sighing as you calm down from your orgasm.
Wanda pulls the vibrator away from your clit, and smiles as she turns it off. “You did so good baby girl, so good for your mommies.” She says, giving your forehead a small kiss. Natasha pulls her fingers from you and begins wiping you clean of the mess you made. You hum in content as the pair helps you get dressed again, helping you crawl under the blankets. Natasha lays down with you as Wanda finishes cleaning up. You suck on your paci as Nat tickles your back with a smile.
As Wanda comes to lay down next to you both, you grab her hand and pull her to you with sleepy excitement. As you lay on her chest, she kisses your forehead along with Nat's lips and sighs. “You did so well for us today, little angel. Such a good girl.” She says, smiling at your soft breaths.
You were their best girl, and when you finally felt comfortable in your own skin, the three of your hearts could beat as one at last.
