got off the bus and was immediately hit by a woman on a bicycle and then mere minutes later i walked past two tiny dogs who attacked my leg so i think i'm in some kind of karmic groundhog day cycle, ill let you know tomorrow

I won't make any grand, sweeping statements about it, but I do think taking public transit has and continues to make me a better person than I would be otherwise.

Absolutely fucking wild to me that people avoid doing things only and specifically because they're illegal. Like cases where they're not hurting anyone, could not be caught, and would not be prosecuted even if they were.

I'm talking j-walking across empty streets, tagging abandoned buildings, pirating shit online, etc. Things that are entirely normal and have been for as long as they've been possible but just happen to be technically unlawful nowadays. People even follow laws that don't actually exist!

Like girl, even if the cop was gonna fuck you, you don't want that!!! Complying to the state's whims is worse than arbitrary, laws are there to actively hurt you for the benefit of the rich!

I'm not saying to go hurt people or do shit that will get you arrested, just the little things! Scribble something on the sidewalk or watch your favorite movie on a free streaming site instead of paying to rent it.

(Something I noticed abt Betty and Simons relationship)

I love Betty and Simon’s relationship, I think their back story is so cute and romantic and all that lovely stuff don’t get me wrong.

But there’s this under tone of Betty constantly giving things up for Simon and we don’t really talk about it a lot???

Like, Betty let Simon have his moment with the artifact and the pubic, she also doesn’t go to her trip in favor of going on an expedition with Simon. Then when she goes to leave again she stays for Simon.

Even Fiona is like “you went with her on the bus?” And Simon just looks all confused like “what? No, why would I do that?” Like- hello???

Then after that she gave up her entire life and mind to get Simon back to the point where she literally says “I don’t know who I am without him anymore.” And that just sucks! Since the beginning Betty has been the one giving up the most, her mind, her own possible career, and it’s a story of love of course and it’s very sweet but it’s also a story of sacrifice.

Their love wasn’t a perfect solution, it was already sort of imbalanced when it started and I lowkey love how we see those cracks even before they’re together.

Again, I love their relationship and I think it’s sweet. I just think we should talk about Betty’s side more, especially when she tells a story of what most women do in relationships, sacrifice.

crazy how much damage you can do in a car, especially new cars, and how little is done to protect everyone outside of a car. obviously the solution is engineering that prioritizes safety, not speed, but on top of that i think there's just no way to get rid of that feeling of 'well i would never hurt someone while driving' that driving a car can give you. no good drivers, only good driving...

Man, nothing improves my mode like some very mild misfortune. I can be in the shittiest most self-hating mood but if I have to sprint like a dork with my backpack on only to miss my bus, or if I have to walk in the rain to get to my bus stop, or if I slip humorously in the mud and make a big mess of myself (on my way home from work, please not on the way to) I instantly remember that it’s not that serious, it could be a lot worse and I should lighten up and enjoy what I have while I have it. Amazing what gets me out of my head.

Re: "i'm just Ken" winning awards.... I just feel like this is such a strange point to make bc if the Barbie Movie really wanted to steer away from letting the men win all the big awards then they shouldn't have given ryan gosling the most interesting and comedically satisfying role in the movie 💀 like idk what to tell u I didn't enjoy any of the entry level feminism of that film and thought some of it was outright insulting (it takes 1 ken 1 day to brainwash a nation of ostensibly brilliant women) but I did enjoy that goofy musical interlude.
