hi im putting a fundraiser for a palestinian family that is fundraising to pay for a newborn child's surgery. the child's foot was injured in israeli shelling. they will use the money to pay for the operation and buy groceries and other necessities. this is a medical emergency. i urge you to share and donate to this family. there have only been three donations in the last two days.

That Klaarg arts amazing! Ill have to check Tench out! But ahh my other favorite bugbears!? This is gonna get long and gushy with a ton of art pieces so be warned !!

So firstly, favorite by default has to be my own Bugbear, Taric Booker!

(Those first two were drawn by my friend @wolfsteax , who I commission a Bugbear from like every month lol. The last one is by @artofgerald)

Taric was a character I played in a Fate rpg campaign with some friends! Unfortunately, the campaign blew up from scheduling conflicts and we only got to do a SINGLE session T_T. I still love my boy Taric tho. The quick gist of his story is that he was one of the most infamous crime bosses in the city the campaing took place until he fell in love with Ollivander Moonbrook, the elvish son of a prominent politician— and a target that a shadowy organization paid him a ton of money to kill. Now hes stepped down and trying to fix up his image so Ollie's father will let him marry his son, all the while having to fight off two quirky cops who are determined to arrest him, members of his old gang who wanna kill him to take his place as the big boss, and that shadowy organization who isnt very happy that Ollie is still alive and doing a Yaoi with him. I love this character, I really hope I can play him again!

My next favorite is probably @gruvu 's bugbear Boe!

What I love most about how he draws bugbears is how he leans more into and takes more inspiration from the bear side of bugbear. He makes a lot of adopts that are like, Polar bugbears, Moon Bugbears, Spectacled Bugbears, etc. Ive always loved that idea and its been canon in my games for forever now. Plus, his style is just great :)

Next, has to be @thebeardlyben 's weed smoking spore druid Jerry Goodberry!

This ones self explanatory. I mean just look at him! The art just irradiates an aura of peace and happiness. Hes a goofy little guy, and hes dating that bugbear from the Witchlight book which moves him up the list. I actually have merch of this guy! Lookie here (also my chihuahua Blu wanted to be in the picture):

Theres also my friend and fellow Bugbear enjoyer @snugasabugbear 's bugbear Zandek!

I like this big ol himbo so much that I tried really hard to draw him actually. Im mostly happy with the results. I really need to practice art more so I can draw my own Bugbears

And finally, my friend in my latest campaign drew my Rune Knight Bugbear Grub and did an amazing job!

Grub Khadon, stalwart defender of the downtrodden, protector of the people, devourer of magical chaos, and the scourge of the elite (his full title, which he says whenever he introduces himself and adds to each session). His family is rich, but he chooses to live and fight with the less fortunate. He ended up eating a bunch of magic items during a fight with some bandits and now he has those runic tattoos seared into his skin that help him do cool magic stuffs. Hes a ton of fun.

Hello I am truly so so so obsessed with Ronya, the art youve made of her is amazing and shes far and away one of my top 3 favorite bugbears (a high honor considering how much I love all bugbears)!!!! Two questions, what class/subclass is she and what bug exactly is the inspiration of her design?

Ronya's class is Barbarian! no subclass. I think I chose Path of Berserk for her! she also was The Haunted One, bc she had nabassu demon inside of her that was supossed to overcome her mind and body and make her monster - but she managed to befriend her demon and in the end of the game they were seperated and had their own body each (a little more about it here in her scars chart)

I will forever and ever thank my friend @tench-art for coming up with this fantastic bugbear design!!! it's my favorite design ever ahaha

she came up with it back in times when we were listening to The Adventure Zone podcast and we had NO IDEA how bugbear Klaarg was supposed to look lol so she made this sketch and I went CRAZY (as a big bear fan lol)

and I was basing Ronya's design on Tench's idea

here are some more things she drew with Klaarg that I love a lot - Klaarg family reunion and this comics with Johann

I think the design is based on bears and rhino beetle? Tench's bugbears have chitin plates on their body as natural armor - on their tits and stomach, also shoulders, arms with hands, legs and feet. I also like a lot that males and females don't have much sexual dimorphism (females dont have boobies as you could notice)

Absolutely wonderful commission of Taric made by @wolfsteax (or @Bleydhdu on Twitter) !! He streamed it this time and it was amazingg. I dropped a lotta lore in the chat there, so Ill copy it down here for posterity:

The basic gist of his story is that he grew up in an orphanage in the big Piltover esque city of Sho'tera. The orphanage was in the poor side of town and only staffed by one old human lady. He and his friends wanted to grow up and be famous adventurers, to bring back money and renown to their home. However, after a traumatic event where they tried to fight this crazy abomination monster in the woods when they were tweens which ended in the death of one of their friends, the dream was shattered and the party grew apart. When the old lady died and the orphanage ran out of money he and the remaining orphans turned to crime, creating one of the most infamous gangs in all of the city, with Taric as their boss at the young age of 16.  After years of villainy and evil he was hired by a shady group trying to tear apart the city to assassinate the prince of a noble family. He ended up drinking himself near to death before he could though, and wound up being nursed to health by that very prince! Taken entirely aback, he held off on killing him that day.. and held off again when they next met.. and over and over again. They fell in love, and after a year of dating, they wanted to make it official, but of course the father didnt approve! Tarics a terrible criminal and a brute! Taric had been turning towards good from his new relationship, but at that point he officially ran away from his crimelord position and set out to become a true hero like his childhood dream, to prove himself worthy to marry his love!  The tattoo in this arts is of course that boyfriend, Ollivander Moonbrook! Elvish cinnamon roll with a little bit of spunk to him, a little moxie!

Oh! I missed this sorry haha. I got some art commissions for him comin up by my friend @wolfsteax (Very cool guy + has commissions available right now would recommend) so Ill leave some bits for those, but the main gist of Taric is that he grew up a poor orphanage for the more monstrous ancestries. He and his closest friends idolized Adventurers and they wanted to form their own Adventuring Party to bring back fame and funding for the orphanage, but while they were still young a tragic traumatizing event involving Taric and the death of one of their would-be adventuring mates ruined that dream. Over the years they drifted apart, literally, as everyone in the group except Taric was adopted. When the orphanage ran out of funding, he and the remaining orphans turned to crime to survive with Taric as their boss.  Things are takin a turn for the better now though, after years and years of sadness and villainy, a chance encounter has Taric shapin himself up and settin out on an adventure (in whatever campaign I can find that would fit haha). 

HeroForge Tips: Bugbears!

The default Heroforge bugbear ain't amazing, BUT with a few easy changes you can make your perfect bugbear even more perfect.

This is Zan as the default bugbear, which uses the Broad face type (aka the same one used for Firbolgs).

Couple obvious problems, mainly that he just looks like a fuzzy dude with some funky ears, not the giant goblinoid we all know and love. First big change we can make is switching to the Feline face.

This'll flatten the nose (more bear-like, ya know the important part), and get rid of the distracting lips. Already a big step in the right direction.

Next up, that chinstrap beard leaves a lot to be desired. Let's fill that out with the Shaggy Beard option.

So handsome! By now you're pretty much done! This last step isn't necessary, that's one dang good bugbear we got there, but if you're like me and just want a bit fuzzier ears then Fuzzy Fey Ears is the way to go.

Congratulations, you've got a wonderful bugbear on your hands!

Now of course you don't have to do any of this, every bugbear is a perfect bugbear and these are just the options I landed on that I thought reflected Zandek best, but hopefully this will inspire the creation of more bugbears out there!
