1954 Denzel WD 1500 S at the Automuseum Prototyp in Hamburg. Wolfgang Denzel started developing cars (based on VW Kübelwagen) in 1948 and built about 350 cars until 1959. He developed the BMW 700 (being the distributor of BMW cars in Austria) and so prevented BMW from being sold to Mercedes-Benz. Denzel still exists as Austrian distributor of BMW, Fiat, Volvo, Mitsubishi, Hyunday, MG and is active in other businesses too.
