“Right, so.” Jin-Ae pulled you out of the room, Chanyeol trailing behind you, obviously still wary of you being alone with his mate, “Care to tell me who’s downstairs, love?”

Chanyeol looked at Jin-Ae and nodded, closing his eyes for a moment before nodding, “Uh, pretty much everyone minus Jongin.” he answered, and you stepped closer to the stairs, listening to the many voices that seemed to blend together.

“And how many is that exactly?” you asked, not being able to distinguish more than maybe two or three voices.

“Currently downstairs is eleven.” Your eyes widened at Chanyeol’s answer, that meant with you now, there would be sixteen people in the house, “I know it seems like a lot, but trust me, you get used to it fairly quickly.”

Chanyeol took the first few steps down, Jin-Ae following close behind him as he was holding her hand, but you on the other hand, couldn’t will your legs to move.

You were in an unfamiliar space, completely and utterly outnumbered, and as much as you wanted to maybe trust them, your instincts, still in survival mode, refused to let you do so.

Thankfully, Junmyeon must have noticed your hesitation so he laid a hand on Chanyeol’s shoulder, stopping him, “How about we wait for Jongin to come back?”

Speak of the devil, said wolf could be heard entering the house, mumbling apologies to everyone around him as he headed for the stairs, taking two steps up at a time, before stopping in front of you, a small smile on his face as he saw you were still there.

“Let’s go down, come on, give them some privacy.” Junmyeon ushered Chanyeol and Jin-Ae down, while the couple simply laughed.

“There is no privacy in this house!” an unknown voice called from downstairs.

“I’m sorry, for losing control like that.” Jongin sighed, and you looked up at him, his hair was disheveled from running his hands through it, you guessed, a small smile now on your lips as he grabbed both of your hands, “Just, picturing what he did to you and what I’m going to do to him once I-”

You cut him off there, “If anyone is going to get their hands on Tao, it’s going to be Mark and I.”

You took a deep breath, trying not to picture what state Mark currently was in. But hearing Tao’s name, or just a mention of him, it made your blood boil, remembering how much he took from you, but thinking of what you were going to take from him brought you some peace, for now.

Jongin noticed your change in attitude, so he decided that a switch in the topic might be the best, “You ready to meet the rest of the pack?” the rest of his family.

His small smile split into a much larger one as you nodded, following his lead downstairs, practically stuck to his back, his wolf enjoying your closeness. 

The loud chatter could be heard from upstairs, but as you stepped into the living room, much to your discomfort it instantly died, the living room so quiet you’d be able to hear a pin drop.

Thankfully, Jongin was rather tall so you were able to basically hide behind him. You disliked feeling that vulnerable with fourteen pairs of eyes trained on you.

You let out a small noise of complaint as Jongin moved to the side, exposing you to his packmates, now standing behind you as he began introducing everyone.

You listened as carefully as you could, giving Jongin your undivided attention, as to not forget anyone seated around you, but knowing yourself, you’d forget half the names by the time he was done.

First up was Minseok. You recognized him immediately from the cafe you worked at when he showed up with Chanyeol and another wolf seated in the living room. Seated on Minseok’s lap was a blonde woman, who was more than obviously his mate, Cora.

Next to be introduced was Kyungsoo. You recognized him as well, he stepped into Jongin’s room to help not too long ago. He seemed rather quiet and shy so he lifted a hand to wave with a small smile, as his other was wrapped around an equally shy girl with adorable dimples that showed when she greeted you with a smile and a more excited wave than her mate, named Jiwon.

Another quiet wolf, Yixing was seated on the floor in between Kyungsoo and Minseok, with a rather hyper mate it seemed. Just like Jin-Ae, she had a beaming smile on her face the moment you walked in. What surprised you, was that when Jongin went to introduce her she sprang up from Yixing’s lap, quickly made her over to you and wrapped her arms around you, “I’m Ha-Neul. Oh, I’m so happy our Nini finally found you!”

“Nini?” you look at Jongin with a small smile, who just refused to meet your gaze, watching Ha-Neul retreat to her previous spot, a light pink dusting his cheeks at the nickname. 

Jongin was more than happy to draw attention to his brother, Jongdae, and his loving mate, Daeun. Those two seemed like the type of couple people would coo at when passing by them on the street. Both having smiles on their faces, making you smile as well as you watched the couple just so, enveloped in each other, comfortably so. With Jongdae’s arms wrapped tightly around Daeun’s front as she sat in his lap, head resting on his shoulder, occasional kiss being pressed to her temple.

A woman emerged from the room that seemed like a kitchen, judging by the tile flooring and stone countertops you could see behind her. The woman though, much like Junmyeon had some feel of authority. The way she confidently walked into the room, eyes casting over all the packmates, as if counting them, before finally settling on you made it seem so.

In the blink of an eye the intimidating look was gone, replaced by a kind, welcoming smile, as she approached you with an outstretched hand, “I’m Areum. Junmyeon’s mate.”

You took it, fingers wrapping around her slender hand as you shook it, introducing yourself with a small bow.

The last two wolves who haven’t been introduced yet approached you, wearing matching grins as they stood in front of you.

You recognized the taller one, he was also at the restaurant you used to work at, along with Minseok and Chanyeol. The one next to him had softer features, that along with his blonde hair made you think of a puppy.

“And those are Baekhyun-hyung and Sehun.” Jongin introduced from behind you, “You’d be wise not to listen to what they say too much. Preferably not at all.”

The two wolves in front of you stood next to you now, each having an arm wrapped around your shoulders, before looking down at you.

“Actually, I think we’ll be great friends.” Baekhyun shrugged, while Jongin looked genuinely worried.

“That’s never good.” you heard someone mutter, not being able to distinguish the voice yet.

A silence fell over the large room, Jongin now standing behind you after he shoo’ed away the two wolves.

“How about we get you something to eat?” Jongin asked, and before you could open your mouth to respond, your stomach did it for you, growling loudly, making you sigh and close your eyes as a few snickers could be heard around the room.

Kinky season is coming and I thought I'd get a head start. From today until the end of September, I'll be taking kinktober requests while also working on some other fics that I hope to have done and ready soon (yes, the wolf fic is at the top of the list) This event is split into two different types: typical NSFW and dark, spooky NSFW because as someone kept making a point of, it's kinkTOBER and lines up with spooky season and I should have fun with that.

⤷ Taking my son to Busan for the weekend, spending time away and going around to different cafes and sites. I want to go to the amusement park here and I hear that the seafood here is amazing. I love the little stories of Easter bunnies and the way people go about this holiday which is perfect because I do love chocolate so I am not complaining~ What're your plans for Easter? I didn't really want to go but I had to go and visit my brother and his kids because it has been a while since we've spent time as a family. ⤷ It's bunny day! This morning I dressed up as the Easter Bunny and got Chan to paint eggs with me! I made some hot chocolate while he made waffles! BUNNY WAFFLES! It's such a nice day today so I dragged him out to see the pretty cherry blossoms and found someone making BUNNY COTTON CANDY STICKS!! AREN'T THEY CUTE? We are going to take one to Channie too! Jongin told me to keep an eye on him and make sure he doesn't eat too much candy!

⤷ Easter. We've never really celebrated Easter so this will be the first time we've done something for it. There has been Easter egg hunts, egg painting and now some of us are just relaxing outside while the younger ones are running off all the chocolate energy. Does anyone have any traditions around Easter? I think this might become ours.

"Please..." Mikyoung's voice breaks, tears streaming down her cheeks, "stop..."

The witches had drugged her when they had injected her with wolfsbane before the fight broke out downstairs. They had knew that she would be able to lead them to the pups while the rest of their coven were preoccupied with the losing battle. It didn't matter to them how many lives were lost tonight - as long as they were able to deal a blow to the future generation of wolves.

The only problem for them is the fact that Mikyoung refuses to give them up.

"We can keep this up, wolf. It's no skin off our nose but you? How long do you think your body can handle the pain?" He grips her chin and forces her head to look up at him and chuckles when she spits at him. "Tell us where they are and we will let you go."

She know he's lying, knows that if she gives them what they want then she no longer has any use to them. "I am not going to tell you where they are." She defiantly turns her head even though he forces her back towards him.

Mikyoung feels the burning sensation in her veins, every movement feeling like hot needles are piercing her skin and her body reeks of the poison. She's sweating, the wolfsbane causes her body to develop a fever as it tries to fight off the effects. She's bleeding, the silver knives the witches use sears her skin as they interrogate her. She's holding out, hoping someone noticed her absence and is trying to find her.

The two witches are enjoying themselves, feeling powerful against a small female omega who couldn't fight back against them. Her body weakened by the poison and their magic keeping her from shifting; they think they are stronger than her, than a wolf, simply because they managed to catch her. They are too preoccupied that neither notices the wolf who has made his way into the room, slowly stalking towards them. Chan's lips curl as he lets out a growl, hearing Mikyoung's pained whine as the blade slices through her arm. The Alpha doesn't let them revel in their victory before he attacks both men with a vengeance they had never seen before. Chan throws his entire body into one of the men, knocking him out; this causes the magical ties that are keeping Mikyoung from moving to release, her body slumping to the floor.

Her eyes fall closed, breathing shallow and all she can hear is the tearing of flesh, the screams for mercy as Chan rips her captors apart until her body gives in from the pain. She doesn't get to hear them beg for their lives, their pathetic apologies as the large wolf stands over them before going in for the kill. She only hears her blood rushing in her ears.

Chan drops the last man, the body a torn apart heap on the floor before turning to Mikyoung and making his way over to her. She's unconscious not dead, he can tell that much, but he doesn't know whether he should move her right now. Chan knows that a bed or even the couch would be better for her but he doesn't want to move her without permission and he certainly doesn't want her to see the mess downstairs.

So, he waits. Chan's large body rests next to her, his head laying on his paws as he watches the door. Protecting, waiting, alert.

The car has barely reached a full stop when the wolves are basically jumping out and rushing to the house. Jongin notices some of the other wolves had arrived just before they had, many unaware of what was going on and arrived too late. He can't imagine what they are thinking as they view the horrors inside the house.

Chris sees the carnage inside before Luna manages to make it to the door and pulls her into his chest, keeping her from seeing a sight that he knows she's familiar with. "Don't look," he says, hand resting on the back of her head and keeping her still when she tried to move away. "You don't want to see it."

With the mutters that are coming from around them, she can easily guess what he's talking about and nods her head. "Can you take me find some ingredients so I can make some healing potions for everyone."

Chris walks with her, allowing her to hide away in the witch's quarters while he goes and helps with the clean up. "I'll come grab you soon." She nods, focusing on her task rather than thinking about what he's going to do.

Jongin, on the other hand, pushes his way through the others, "Channie?" He calls, searching, looking at the deceased and dreading finding him amongst them.

No, he'd know. Of course he would. He'd feel it.

"Puppy?!" His voice grows frantic, the smell of blood is all around and his head turns every which way until his eyes land on his boyfriend sitting on the floor, a young boy clinging to him.

Channie's head pops up, looking over at him, a little distant at first but registering that Jongin is near is all it takes for it all to sink in. His lip quivers before the rest of his face scrunches up and Channie begins to cry. "Nini..." Jongin rushes to him, dropping to his knees as soon as he reaches him. The jolt that comes from the fall is ignored as his hands run all over his love, checking for injuries, checking to see how badly he's hurt, checking to find where the source of the blood is coming from until it clicks.

It's not his.

"Thank fuck, you're okay..." He holds Channie tightly, pulling him and the boy close until he can almost put his arms right around them. The boy seems to be an add-on to his boyfriend right now since the pup refuses to let the older go and Channie seems to feel the same way so Jongin holds them both.

Everyone seems to be finding each other, bodies being moved outside and piled up while those who are suffering a loss are being given the space to grieve. It isn't what any of them thought that they were going to deal with but as Chris looks over the damage, he feels responsible for separating the packs like this. It was his decision to split up, to check everything out just in case... if only he had known...

Hongjoong, however, hasn't settled. His jaw is clenched tightly as he searches downstairs for his sister, heart pounding as every room comes up empty or with another dead witch. "U-upstairs..." He turns to look over at Channie, the wolf's head barely popping up for air from the hold that he's in. "She was- there were pups... I don't..." Jongin hushes him while Hongjoong rushes up those stairs without hearing anything more, taking two at a time.

He runs directly to the room that he knows she would have taken the pups to. Mikyoung had been so excited when she learned that Chris built little hiding places like this for emergencies and begged her brother to make it a priority in their own pack house. If she's okay, if she's safe, he'll do it, he'll build them himself if it means they work as much as he hoping they do right now.

Hongjoong throws open the closet door, nearly ripping the wall apart as he find the pups packed inside, "are you okay?" He asks, offering his hand for them to take so he can help them out. "Where's Mikyoung? Where's my sister?"

The oldest pup, Somi, rubs the tears from her eyes and points towards the hallway, "we heard them take her... she tried to keep them from taking us..."

Gritting his teeth, Hongjoong takes a moment to keep himself calm for the traumatised pups, not wanting to scare them even more than they already are. He knows that she would have died before giving those pups up and that's something he's hoping he doesn't have to face right now. "C'mon, everyone's downstairs." As he's leading the pups towards the stairs, he notices Mikyoung's scent, faint but it's mixed with the stench of blood. He spots an open room at the other end of the hallway and prepares himself for what he might find in there. "Head down, find your parents. I'll be back."

Waiting until the last pup reaches the bottom of the staircase, Hongjoong slowly walks towards the room, the smell of blood growing stronger and when he sees the state of the room - his heart drops for a moment. The bodies lying a few feet from her are a mess, unrecognisable, surrounded by blood but luckily - it's not from her, not all of it, at least. He moves closer, now standing in the doorway of the room and finds his sister passed out on the ground with a large, white wolf beside her.

He knows that the threat is gone, those who had hurt his sister are now dead but someone is keeping her from him.

Hongjoong takes a step closer, crossing the threshold and the wolf lifts his head, a deep growl rumbling in his chest, warning him to not come any closer. He responds in kind, narrowing his eyes as he takes another step forward; his eyes are locked on the wolf, watching him stand to his full height, both males growling at each other, challenging each other to try something. Hongjoong recognises the scent, it's Chan, and while he's always given the other Alpha his respect - he's in the way.

Chan snaps his jaws, snarling at Hongjoong, who keeps inching closer. The omega is hurt, passed out, and Chan's not letting anyone touch her until she's awake. It doesn't matter who he is - he's not coming closer.

The two Alphas are in a stand-off, both snarling and baring their teeth to the other. One sudden movement and they will be at each other's throats without a second to spare. Their noses are nearly touching, inches away from tearing each other apart when there's stirring next to Chan, a low groan indicating that Mikyoung is waking up but it doesn't stop their hostile exchange.

Her body is aching from the wolfsbane, head pounding from the attacks that she had sustained but this all seems to take a back seat as her body instinctively reacts to the two males practically at each other's throats. It's automatic, a shift that isn't caused because she wants to but because the tension and their scents are triggering her to react.

In a way that none of them expected.

The pain is greater now that she's a shifted because the wolfsbane that is still in her system feels amplified by her wolf fronting but even as she suffers, Mikyoung manages to make her way between them. With her whole body shaking, she places her head under the Alpha's chin, protecting his throat. Her eyes look up at her brother as a whimper leaves her, begging for him to step down, pleading for him to stop.

Please no more fighting. Please, no more blood.

The three of them stay like that for a moment and she can tell that her brother is trying to figure out what the fuck is going on. Why is his sister protecting another Alpha, why is she protecting Chan? It's not immediate but he eventually pulls away, his growling fading as he stands up straight and looks down at them, confused.

Hongjoong isn't the only one confused because Mikyoung is too. It isn't like she made a conscious decision, it was instinctual, she did it without thinking about it but it's also something she isn't able to dwell on as her body collapses at Chan's feet. The pain is too much for her to deal with like this but it is also the fastest way for her to heal, her wolf taking on the brunt of the process to get the wolfsbane out of her system.

Chan is immediately on top of her, ignoring the other man as he begins to nuzzle the small omega. In that moment, it doesn't matter whether she's a part of his pack or not, his wolf is scenting her, surrounding her in his scent which seems to have her relax slightly. When he's finished, he begins cleaning her wounds, focusing on the areas where blood has started to stain her beautiful coat. While the omega will heal on her own, there's nothing wrong with him offering her a little help to get her back on her feet.

He continues to clean her, to scent her, while Hongjoong scrunches his nose and looks away. It's not an intimate thing but he doesn't feel like watching another Alpha scenting his sister, almost as if he's claiming her right in front of him. "Bring her downstairs when you're done. The witches are helping those who are injured." Without a second look, he leaves, allowing the other Alpha to keep caring for the small omega who whines softly when Chan's tongue passes over an open wound.

Once everyone is accounted for, checked up on and healed as best as the witches can do with their limited resources, Chris suggests that those who don't need to stay head back to their own territories to recover. "I can send you the details once we have more information."

It's clear that the Alpha feels a lot of guilt from what happened. It doesn't seem to matter to him about whether he had known that this would happen, it doesn't matter whether the could have prevented this - all that matters is that it happened under his roof. He recommended that they stay together, that they would be safe at the pack house but they weren't - they lost three lives and nearly lost their pups because of a decision he made.

"It's not your fault," Luna says softly when she enters the room with the others who had decided to stay. While many have taken the time to recover, others have stayed to help and Luna is one of them - she has as much to lose as the wolves do and she doesn't want to miss out on anything.

Jongin had taken Channie home to take care of him while a couple of other wolves from their pack stayed behind. While he wants to be there, the Alpha feels that his partner is more important right now and he wants to make sure Channie doesn't feel too much guilt over what happened.

While Chris had been cleaning himself up, his clothes and skin stained with blood from moving the bodies - Irene had arrived. It seems that the Devil found out about what happened and was understandably worried about him. He stands behind her, arms wrapped tightly around her waist as he takes a moment to compose himself for what's to come.

Hongjoong and a couple of his betas stand at the back of the room, ready to get the party started with the captives. Chris knows that while nobody else really approves of how Hongjoong thrives off the pain and suffering of his opponents, they have all agreed that if anyone is going to get the surviving witches to talk - it's him.

Chan sits beside a resting Mikyoung, her legs resting on his lap as she drinks a tonic that he made for her. Hongjoong had argued that she should return their pack house but Chan argued that she should stay where they can keep an eye on her, mostly talking about himself rather than anyone else. He hasn't let anyone go near her, especially not any of the witches, opting to take care of her needs himself as if he doesn't trust them.

This is all that they need right now, they don't need a spectacle for this next part, even if every wolf wants their turn with the captives - they only need one interrogator. Chris and the other Alphas all agree that everyone needs the chance to recover, they need to gather their strength because once they have the information that they are looking for - the final plan will begin.

The plan to save his mother.

"Fuck," the car skids to a halt, the one behind them nearly rear-ending them but managing to swerve to the side with Chris leaning out his window swearing at the Alpha for stopping without warning.

Luna waves at her friend, trying to get him to calm down before looking over at the other wolf and notices his eyes focused on something ahead of them. She follows his line of sight and screams before covering her mouth, eyes wide with horror as she notices what it is that caused the wolf to stop. "Is that-" Growls echo within the car as the wolves leave the cars and resist the urge to shift and chase after the witches who did this.

Sitting on the ground, back propped up against a wooden pole with his arms tied behind his back is one of the men from Chris' tribe. A human. His head hangs limply and none of the wolves can find the faint sound of a heartbeat to distinguish if he is alive. There's no other sound around them, like the forest has been silenced, and as Chris steps forward - the closer he gets, the more the stench of death hits him.

"Alpha Chris..." Luna reaches for him, keeping him from moving closer. She looks over to her friend and the other wolves that came. Jongin's eyes are glowing, teeth bared while several of the betas that came with them are on edge; they all know that something is wrong, off, unnatural and the witches can feel it too.

"Who was he?" Hongjoong speaks, standing next to Chris, inspecting the man from a distance. "Why didn't you notice he was missing?"

"He's... he was new. We had recently welcomed him and his wife into the tribe. They were outcasts, thrown out by his wife's coven for tainting their bloodline." He goes to step closer, feeling the loss of one of his own before Luna moves in front of him and places both hands on his chest.

"If you step any closer, you'll die." She says quickly while the other witches move beside her and begin to chant a spell, nullifying the unseen magic. "They knew that we were going to find them eventually and used the blood of this man to keep out wolves. If you crossed the line..."

"We get the point, we could have died." The other Alpha responds and folds his arms over his chest. "Why did we bring you again?"

A deep growl comes from beside Luna, a hand resting on her shoulder as Chris comes to take care of his friend, making sure she's not harassed anymore by Hongjoong than she has been already. Before he can say anything, the witches lower their hands and announce that the spell has been removed and they can move the body out of the way. "Stay with me." Chris speaks to Luna, keeping her behind him as they move to get the man off the pole and move his body.

It doesn’t take them long, one of the betas grabbing a blanket from the back of the car to wrap the body up in but as they do, Jongin realises that something is carved into the man’s skin. Hidden under his blood soaked button down is the word traitor and Chris can only stand up, staring as Jongin covers the word up again. “How long did you say they were with you?”

“Leave him here.” Chris growls, clenching his fists as so many thoughts run through his head, “I’ll deal with it later.”

They all head back to the cars, continuing along the muddy tracks towards a scene that none of them could ever have imagined witnessing.

There's blood everywhere, bodies laying on the ground, blood tainting the air with its metallic scent and embers smouldering in the abandoned campfire. Dozens of witches, massacred, throats slit in sacrifice to whatever God they were praying to.

Luna and the other witches crumble, seeing a coven lay dead, but the wolves search for survivors. They search every inch of the make-shift camp and the cabin nearby for signs of life but they come up short, only finding scribblings of mad men and their tales about the Moon Goddess and the creation of the wolves.

Chris knows that stories always changed, the different beliefs and legends surrounding werewolves, and if what he is reading is correct... "They think that killing the Moon Goddess will end us all."

"They can't," Luna looks up at him, her eyes puffy and red and her hands bloody from the ground, "if they kill the Moon, they'll throw off the balance of the world. It's not just the wolves that need the moon but nature too, everything will be thrown into chaos."

Chris runs through the story that he remembers being told as a kid, the tale of Lycan and Luna - the wolf and the moon. He remembers how the wolves weren't created by the Moon herself but a curse, a punishment to keep the lovers apart but due to her own heartbreak, she protected the wolves and cared for them even through the ages.

"You might want to look at this," everyone's attention turns their attention to the wolf walking towards them holding a book with more writings in it. "'Take away the mother and incapacitate the father. The children are the next to go.'"

"The house."

"Quick, we need to go."

"If they hurt my fucking sister-"

Everyone runs to the car, Jongin and Chris grabbing their phones out of their pockets to try and call the others but only to realise they are out of service. "It was a fucking set up. They knew we'd come."

"Get in the cars and go." Chris shouts, everyone piling into the cars and tearing out of there as fast as they can.

They need to get back to the house. They need to get a hold of someone. They need to protect the children. This is a mess, a big fucking mess. Chris wanted to find his mother, save her and help restore balance but instead they've stumbled across a plan that none of them thought would ever happen.

The annihilation of the future generation.

"Now say thank you to Alpha Channie for playing with you and go get something to eat," Mikyoung instructs the pups, a mix from the different packs all playing together and running into the kitchen where Chan had offered to help cook dinner for everyone.

They didn't know when the others would be back, one of the groups had arrived earlier with no success, so they decided to carry on as usual until everyone returned. Mikyoung and Channie had been entertaining the pups, playing games with them to help tire them out while Chan and some of the other house keepers had been cooking dinner. It was peaceful, with so many wolves coming and going recently, this was the most peaceful the house had been.

"Go wash your hands, sweetie," Mikyoung places her hand on one of the pup's shoulders. She had been playing with play dough earlier and had some residue on her hands.

Channie walks over, smiling happily at being able to play with the pups. "Thank you for letting me help you take care of all the pups. You're really good with them! I would have gotten so stressed when those two boys kept fighting earlier." He pats one of the pups on the head as he runs past and Mikyoung picks another up who wanted cuddles as they walk towards the kitchen.

"They aren't too hard to handle once you're used to it! Thank you for your help! With so many packs, I feel like we are being overrun by children." She laughs before bowing her head at Chan. "Thank you for helping with dinner, Alpha. I know you've been busy, you really could have left it to the others."

Suddenly, the young boy squirms from her hold, wanting to be held by Chan instead while Channie's being dragged through the kitchen to sit down with some of the pups who had taken a shine to him earlier. "It's the least I could do. Extra hands make light work."

They stand there, chatting for a moment, Mikyoung giggling at something Chan had said, talking about the pups and their energy while the little boy plays with one of Chan's earrings. It's peaceful, quiet, even if they are all feeling tired, it's a change from the stress of meetings - until a scream from upstairs shatters it all.

"Somi!"

The older wolf places a kiss on his boyfriend’s forehead, encouraging the sleeping pup to wake up. “C’mon sleepy head,” he chuckles when the younger groans, “we don’t want to miss the opening.”

Jongin had promised, he had said that he’ll take Channie to Everland and would spend the whole day with him, going on all the rides and doing all the things that Channie wants to do. He won’t complain, he won’t be a grouch and he certainly wouldn’t try and get out of there early. What better day to take Channie on a magical experience than on his birthday?

“Happy birthday, puppy,” Jongin says when he finally manages to get Channie up and ready, perfectly fine with the younger being sleepy since it is a two hour drive to the theme park. Kissing him softly before Channie is left to get dressed, Jongin heads to the living room to grab his phone and text Channie’s other favourite people. The ones he hasn’t seen in a while due to life being so busy.

[06:32] Jongin -> He’s awake, I’ll be around to pick you guys up soon, make sure you’re ready.

[06:35] Alice -> Rinnie has been up and ready for the last hour so don’t worry about us. Just don’t be late, you know how they’ll be if we miss the opening.

Rolling his eyes, Jongin grabs the flowers from the coffee table, the bouquet freshly delivered a few minutes before Jongin had woken Channie up and makes sure that the younger hasn’t gone back to sleep. “Quick puppy,” Jongin smiles, passing him the roses, “you’ll miss your surprise.”

The drive to Alice’s place is obvious, Channie probably figured out where they were going the moment he saw the address on Jongin’s GPS but the older didn’t mind — he was just happy to make this day special for the wolf. They had planned this for a while, to take Channie out together, his favourite people going to a place they know he’ll love and doing all the things that he’ll enjoy. How could the day not be perfect when it’s planned specifically around him?

The trip to the park was quiet, the two rowdy ones were sleepy and napping in the back of the car while Jongin drove and Alice quietly looked out the window, watching the scenery pass them by as the sun had started to peek over the horizon. Once they had arrived, however, it was as if Channie and Rinnie had been awake the whole time with the way they were running around and needing to be kept close by holding their hands — they couldn’t be lost yet, they hadn’t made it into the theme park.

Food, rides and laughter. That is what they wanted the day to be filled with, that is what they wanted Channie to have, that is what they tried to give him. They rode the rides as many times as he wanted, they let him devour all the mozzarella sticks as he could and even though he was warned, they let him mix it with too much sugar.

“Are you having a good day, puppy?” Alice asks as Rinnie holds his hand and they wait in line for the Merry-Go-Round. “Have you been doing well?”

The day starts winding down, the child starting to get sleepy so Jongin promised that he’d go with Channie on all the ‘big kid’ rides since he did all of the more animals safaris and children rides with Rinnie earlier. “You said you wanted to go on the roller coaster, right? Apparently it’s one of the biggest in Korea, you think you can handle it?” Jongin teases even though his own heart was racing. He’s going to hate this, the smirk on Alice’s face shows that she knows how much he’s thinking about this and Channie would know from the slight hint of fear in his scent but the Alpha doesn’t let it stop him. “I’m fine, puppy,” Jongin holds his hand, smiling and letting himself be pulled up the stairs, heading to the top while Alice and Rinnie stay down below so they can take a video of their ride.

The final experience of the day, before the massive fireworks display that Alice and Rinnie were heading to find a spot to set up with the food that they bought while the wolves stand in line, was the new Halloween house that had been set up earlier.

“How was your day? Did you love it?” Jongin asks, shuffling forward, holding Channie’s hand. “It was Alice’s idea, you know, she mentioned how much you loved Disneyland and I know it isn’t the most magical place on Earth but being here with you — it’s close enough for me.” Yes, it’s cheesy, yes Jongin hated himself for saying it but knowing Channie would have loved it makes it all worth it.

This day, as long and busy as it was, was worth it as long as Channie enjoyed it.

Folding up the last piece of paper, Jongin places it inside Channie's favourite mug and starts trying to remember if he managed to get everything. Last night, Jongin placed post-it notes in the car, around places he knew Channie would find and then before the other wolf woke up, Jongin placed some little written notes inside different items.

Notes that all contained words of love and adoration, reminders of how important Channie is to Jongin, and telling him he loves him dearly.

"Good morning, puppy," Jongin walks in with a small Valentine's cake that he had run down to the store to get along with a LEGO rose that he had put together. "Happy Valentine's Day." He sits on the bed and waits for his boyfriend to wake up properly and see what he's got him.

Well, it's not the real gift. No, that's sitting on the table, this is just something they can eat before they have to start their day.

Jongin will say that he's surprised Channie didn't notice three of the little notes in their bedroom, only finding the one on the mirror but even if they aren't all found today — at least there'll be some tomorrow, and the day after.

"Your curly hair is something I love about you."

While Jongin may not often know the right words to compliment his boyfriend, he tries and had even asked for help. Things that you love about someone, the way they make you feel, digging down deep to find the right words and sharing them instead of being embarrassed. Jongin wanted Channie to always know how much he's loved and feel reassured that no matter what — it'll always be him.

"I'll always find my way home to you."

The bedroom, bathroom, living room, the car, pockets of his clothes, the fridge, even in Mr Pickle's habitat, anywhere Jongin could put these notes — he did.

He watches and listens out for every time that Channie finds one as they get ready for the day, smiling to himself whenever the younger wolf came to give him kisses afterwards before carrying on. "I'm glad you're loving them." He laughs, watching the way Channie's ears turn bright red, almost turning a deeper shade every time he finds a new one. "That's not the last present of the day." Jongin shares, knowing that'll send Channie's excitement level to a point he might vibrate through the floor.

Once the couple make their way into the kitchen finally, all dressed and ready to head out — Jongin grabs the box and pulls Channie to a halt. In the box are two bracelets, a sun and a moon matching the rings Jongin got Channie a while back. "They are those touch bracelets." Jongin explains, putting on Channie's and then putting on his own. He doesn't say much more after that, simply pressing his bracelet and watching it flash before Channie's responds in kind, vibrating on his wrist.

"Now you'll be able to know how much I'm thinking about you, puppy. Even when we aren't together, you'll always be able to know that you are on my mind."
