Newfound Adventure
"All of which is to say: expand your horizons. Go forth and seek discovery. Some of the civilizations in the reflections will surprise you. As the bearer of Azem's crystal, you may consider your duty to see at least that much." — Hades
With the Final Days averted and the Scions disbanded, Fiona returned to her wanderings. While traveling the Azim Steppe, she took part in a ritual in which one pours fermented milk (kumis) at each of the finger-like monoliths surrounding the Dawn Throne while thinking of a goal.
To travel the rest of the world—Meracydia, the Bounty, and the New World. To make a home in Ishgard. To aide all the peoples she had met. To stop Fandaniel—which had been completed. To save the Thirteenth.
Her plans changed as the Scions coincidentally found a gate to the Thirteenth under the Bounty.
After their first excursion into the Thirteenth Shard, Fiona found she needed to change her definition of "save". Was rebalancing the aether, as they had done to the First's Empty, the correct solution? Or would a rejoining be required.
Or, something else entirely?
As she awaited more news from Y'shtola, Fiona embarked on her own research. She hypothesized that, without Hydaelyn, the remaining Shards would naturally collapse back into the Source over time. If that was the case, there would be a measurable increase in the aetheric density of new life (even after Zodiark's aether was taken into account).
She confirmed this theory with her and G'raha's newborn daughter, Salina, and from data gathered by researchers in Sharlayan. The aetheric increase that would once take millennia now took mere centuries—perhaps decades, if the rate increased.
Given this finding, the remaining Shards had a deadline. It may take centuries, but the Shards would eventually wither. With Fourchenault's help, Fiona developed a plan to form a historical, scientific, and cultural preservation group for each Shard: Project Ark. Their worlds might fade, but their history wouldn't.
The Lopporits provided another solution: letting residents from the Shards immigrate to the Source's moon before their worlds became uninhabitable. Admiral Bloefhiswyn of Limsa Lominsa also incidentally created a project of self-sustainable homesteads, using arcane mammets for most of the labor. Between the two, newcomers from the Shards could thrive in their new home.
In the meantime, Fiona would continue searching for a way to pry open a gate to all other Shards.
As usual, the solution would come from a surprising source...

Started pondering on an AU where Ieeha is much older than his canon 20 something years... in his late 30s/early 40s or so to be specific. In such an AU he both inherited and dissolved House Verral in the span of only a couple years, as well as using the wealth he acquired to further his medical expertise.
His overwhelming emotional side is not gone by any means, but he's had more years to learn how to rein in his more volatile tendencies. Whereas in his youth he would explode with both joy and anger, his older self is sharp as coldest ice.
His fears around death has not diminished, if anything he's only gotten more anxious by it with age. He continues his work as both a doctor and healer like always... in fact, he tends to overwork himself, so as to compensate for the guilt he's been carrying since childhood.
(As Warrior of Light, he grows closer to the Scions much quicker in this AU. However, it takes a while for them to truly get to know him, as he is even more averse to letting people see beneath the surface. He scoffs at the title of 'Warrior of Light', and acts like it's someone else while he retreats to the background for the gruesome work he handles best.)

Once a fumbling and stumbling adventurer, now a rising star in the eyes of the adventuring world. However, there are debates about how someone who was once so shy and withdrawn could possibly change so drastically from one day to another. A name change might be one thing, a change of demeanor another… But no one can seem to guess what could have brought on a total switch in lifestyle and personal values. It's like talking to a completely different person.

Hiya! I hope you're doing well today! I love your characters and how you've structered their bios! Since Chuusday is listed first, is she technically your official WOL or is it someone else? Do you canonically have a WOL in the first place?
Also, I find it SO sweet that you and one of your partners both play FFXIV and have characters paired together ;w; Did you meet ingame or long before either of you started playing? Either way I wish you both the best!!! <3 - gardenofballads 🌻
Awaaaah! Im doing pretty ok!!! Taking time to answer this as a wind down from Emerald Weapon Ex Brain Soupage. And I’m so glad! ;W; I think I butchered one of those “Get To Know An OC” thingies- uhh… oh [this one] actually! I chopped a lot out and I think added a couple different thingums instead because there was so much to that that it felt overwhelming to try to look at let alone fill out LOL but it was a really good jumping off point uvu;
And!!! Hilariously Chuu was my First XIV Character, so she’s dear to my heart for being the first one- but she very quickly made it known being the WOL even as an AU was something of a Joke (Her character showed great reluctance and even frustration at having to do So Much World Saving, maybe a side-effect of me rushing through MSQ to catch up with my other spouse [Who plays Talia, though they’ve got less time for XIV these days ;0;] and the rest of my friends who were all EndGame already at the time in Shadowbringers fhdjfjsjfs.) So I made…… many alts. Throwing spaghetti at the wall but I have SEVERE side-character/NPC brain and kept making “supporting cast” types =w=; it actually took me like. 3? Alts before making an ACTUAL WoL with my husband (Ishi’li and Kizuna) (as of Right Meow, they’re in post ARR, but we’ve been working on Keathan and Tuesday together because Keathan was… Keathan’s first character in xiv XD so we’ve been jaunting through the story together and experiencing every inch of it so we can pick and choose what The Boys™ get up to when we wanna focus on them x3)
🥰 I knew both speece during at least high school- but I actually knew Keathan as early as Elementary school hehe 😌 tho the speece didn’t proper marry until… i’unno, 2017? (For frustrating legal reasons, I’m not legally married, but. As it goes. Someday we’ll have money to visit the one state that has legal poly marriages. Also I struggle to remember our wedding year 🫢)
Since managing to make a Co-WoL with my husband I’ve managed to make one other Alt meant to be a Solo-WoL (Mochiie) but I have to really wrinkle my brain to sink time into playing him, since I’m trying to take screenshots throughout the story at what I find to be inspiring beats xD And even still he has an alt-universe where he’s just a side-character for the ‘Main Timeline’ (where there’s a bunch of spaghetti and like 8+ confirmed WoL’s and the Msq entourage looks HILARIOUS in canon, someday I’ll get all the data together and take pictures, but I think it’ll cook what’s left of my brain x’3) [it’s less concrete than anything I’ve posted about before or I’d try to explain it ;v;’ it’s just interesting mostly to see how the story gets stretched to fit around a larger community of heroes than a solo guy shouldering the whole burden lmfao.]
🌸🌸🌸…. I also hope you’re having a lovely week @gardenofballads !!!! I am tossing flower petals into the air around you !!! Thank you for the ask and well wishes n kind words 🥺💖 🌸🌸🌸
#ask game#day-2-day#I have serious Alt Disease as well which doesn’t help much XD#tho I try to justify it by making them a variety of races/genders/classes so I’m not just making 15 similar guys in different color palettes#like some kinda smash game…. LMFAO.#it helps some tho cos they get to flesh out and add meat color and history to The Boys+Co’s adventures/histories/stories uvu like Lev….)#Solkmyna and Swydghem who are true NPC alts of mine are even slotted into post ShB…#🫢 but they’re mostly just fun for me to occasionally chew on like a squeaky toy#tangy is schroedingers WoL. both is and Isn’t. could be The WoL if the au called for it but also works perfectly as just a Scion instead#…. wordy tags… my bad… ANYWAYS FR HOPE YOUR DAY/NIGHT IS NICE AND PLEASANT#I gotta stare blankly at the ceiling now while trying to retain mechanics but not pressed against the display glass of my brain#🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺💖‼️#spawn speece#also yes there is something deeply strange wired in my brain where I link to sources but not super consistently like some kinda bad wiki pag#if I had stuff for Keathan + Kizuna to link to tbh I’d link to it here too LOL.#when I get ahold of Talia and Setsuna I’ll probably make little reference posts- not really Bio’s cos they’re not my blorbs#they’re my partners blorbs; but it might be handy to have a frame of reference to point at beyond vague name dropping#actually I love linking to names because my memory is just so piss poor. why not just make it easier for everyone else also#I know I have 185756328 OC’s xbdnfjdnfsnfjs so.#I have to do this for one of my friends uvu; bad memory havers rise up

Inspired by some posts I saw on @anneapocalypse's blog (I hope you don't mind my tagging you):
Myriam Sangvitrail
B A S I C S
Name: Myriam Sanvitrail
Nicknames: Myr, Captain
Age: 22 (Doesn’t know the exact number, though, only knowing that she was found with amnesia in her late teens in the aftermath of the Calamity)
Nameday: Third day of the third Umbral Moon (day she was adopted).
Race: Au Ra, Xaela
Gender: Demigirl, she/they
Orientation: Lesbian
Profession: Aside from Adventurer, she honestly loves cooking and alchemy, and could easily see herself opening a shop or restaurant somewhere once her wanderlust settles down.
P H Y S I C A L A S P E C T S
Hair: Auburn with slight red highlights at the end, kept in a ponytail.
Eyes: Bright yellow with black around the irises.
Skin: Extremely pale and covered in dark blue scales
Tattoos/scars: Her main scar is one that rests under her hair, and is surmised to be from the source of her amnesia.
F A M I L Y
Parents: Adopted by Osene and Draceone Sangvitrail, birth parents unknown
Siblings: none
Grandparents: never met
In-laws and Other: none
Pets: Used to care for a street cat until it didn’t come back.
S K I L L S
Abilities: After gaining skill with a lance and then becoming a Dragoon, Myriam found that she could mold the light in her self to form a weapon, which would let them throw as many lances as they wanted. After some losses that weighed heavily upon them, they also found a skill at molding the darkness as well, learning to hone it under the tutelage of the one calling themself Frey. Wielding light and dark in equal measure, Myriam is a skilled frontline fighter, and would best be described as a “dodge tank” if such a thing were actually a thing in FFXIV.
Hobbies: In addition to learning every form of gathering and crafting so that they can make and maintain all her own gear, Myriam honestly loves dancing and music, and will take any opportunity to do a quick step dance or one of the Manderville dances she learned from Hildibrand. She takes particular pride in making food and potions for people, thanks to their memories of hunger as the Calamity-induced winter caused problems for their adopted hometown’s farms.
T R A I T S
Most Positive Trait: Generally friendly with everyone, willing to learn all sorts of new things, generous with her time, and does not stand for injustice
Most Negative Trait: Angers easily, even if she tries to hide it. Also tends to get attached to pretty girls quickly, which always results in at least a little heartbreak. She’s also a ridiculous romantic, seeing romances in places they probably don’t exist, such as secretly hoping that General Raubhan and Nanamo are together.
L I K E S
Colors: Loves dark colours, especially deep reds.
Smells: A well cooked meal will always cheer her up, but her favourite scent is actually that of the Dravanian Lily.
Textures: Even though they acknowledge that their bed while she still lived with her adopted parents wasn’t the best, they have fond memories of the slightly scratchy covers, especially when their scales would itch and fingernails couldn’t do the job.
Drinks: They never liked the taste of alcohol, but found a drink made in honour of their friend (and crush) Ysayle, the “Drink of Shiva,” particularly amazing. (Actual drink from a FFXIV-themed restaurant in Akihabara, [Passion Fruit Collagen + Chardonnay Concentrate + Water + Blue Curacao (float)])
O T H E R D E T A I L S
Smokes: Never
Drinks: Non-alcohol only, if they can help it
Drugs: Only medicinal, and generally only what she’s made herself
Mount Issuance: As she greatly admires Midgardsormr, she likes to fly around on the back of his medium-sized simulacrum, but when flight isn’t an option, they default to their chocobo Chobi or the fascinating vehicle Cid made based on an extra-planar wanderer’s main mode of transport.
Been Arrested: Aside from the debacle of the Bloody Banquet, she did nearly get arrested back when she lived with her adopted family, thanks to their draconic features as an Au Ra causing some friction.

[Description: Rumors have been going around of the Warrior of Darkness' deeds-- yet the tales appear to be exaggerated given you share no recollection of these feats. Could it be that there is a second Warrior of Darkness running amok in Norvrandt? And who-- or what-- would benefit from your impersonation? Memories of a hero from hundreds of years ago rise to the top of your thoughts, but witnesses claim sighting your visage vanishing into varnish when approached. It's up to you to investigate the inky trail…]
Shadowbringers Siegbert! In their canon version of ShB, they were called to the First by G'raha Tia; but due to the nature of their Echo, went unnoticed beneath the radar and set out on their own. In need of a protector and a symbol of hope in this new world, they used their pictomancy abilities to bring a drawn version of the Warrior to life by their side, causing others to mistake them for the WoL themselves. Seeing that they could not disappoint the populace by rectifying their case of mistaken identity, they continued their charade of helping others in need across Norvrandt.
However, it would only be a matter of time before the true Warrior would catch up with them...

WOL Bio
Melody Rope
Alias: Warrior of light, Hero of Eorzea, Hydaelyn’s Chosen, The bringer of light, Warrior of Darkness, Little Heater (Haurchefant), His Estelle (Urianger), My Plumeria (G’raha)
Age: 26
Race: Raen Au ra
Class: Bard
Family: Xaela mother, Raen Father, Hyru (Step mother)
Allies: The scion, Other WOL
Friends: Melanie, Orion, Carol, Hinata, Kirsten, Keres, Zenos (Somehow), Aymeric, Estinien, Yugiri, Yasa, Emet-Selch, Hythlodaeus, Erenville,
Love interests: Haurchefant (First crush, deceased) Urianger (Partner) G’raha (Crush), Wuk (How did this happen)
Personality:
Melody at first seems to have a closed off personality mostly keeping to herself as she doesn’t open to others quiet easily, Orion was the first to see her break this shell. Trust is key for her so she might become wary of you at first glance but let her get to know you and she’ll come to. Like her trust, kindness also is key for her, and she doesn’t give it out willingly. Melody has been known to snap, from Orion experience, and she doesn’t back down. Once you push her buttons, she will fight with you. Some would say she’s emotional and its possibly true due to her holding back her feelings to others because she feels their emotions are more important than how she feels, but due to that she does eventually explode and its no one fault, but her own for not speaking up. She wears her heart on her sleeve always going to help others despite how she feels currently because she believes other people happiness, friends included, is more important to her than her own happiness.
Backstory: TW: Slight dark theme
Melody was raised by both her parents for a while before her mother decided to disappear and never came back. Around the age of 7 her and her father moved to Gridania, after an incident with a male Au ra took advantage of Melody when she was 6, where her father later met his now and current wife. Melody was very hesitant of her new mother even bringing her hell due to the new change. It only around 10 when she finally got use to her, but she still never called her mom or mother. Her new mother was pretty the best thing that her and her father ever had even if at times she did feel like she couldn’t do anything right around Melody because they weren’t the same race, but as time went on, they realized they were one of the same personality wise and bonded over festivals, her stepmother was the reason she took up being a bard.
When Melody was finally an adult she made a friend, her name was Orion. She was the one who approached her first cause Melody kept closing herself off, she was also the reason she got her to join the rest of the team, soon friends, when she found out she also possessed an echo. Melody was still intimidated by the team but loosen up when she saw she wasn’t the only Au ra, however despite being the same race her and Kirsten didn’t socialize for a while. Carol was the first to approach and greeted her even went as far as introducing the others, first being Melanie, Keres, Hinata and Kirsten. She did make a slight jab of saying “and you’ve already met Orion.” In hopes that Melody would loosen up. This was the beginning of her journey that she’ll never forget.

Heavensward
"And so they came, at a friend's behest. Heroes once celebrated as saviors of Eorzea, brought low through treachery, their names blackened with royal blood..."
— "Heavensward" by Count Edmont de Fortemps
Driven north by betrayal and wrongly accused of murdering the Ul'dahn Sultana, Fiona and the remaining Scions, Tataru and Alphinaud, fled to Ishgard. A friend Fiona met in Coerthas moons before—Haurchefant—invited them to his home as wards of House Fortemps.
Ishgard also had need of Fiona's strength. During her time in Coerthas she had claimed the title of Azure Dragoon working alongside the current holder of the title, Estinien "Wyrmblood" Varlineau. He sought her aid in defeating Nidhogg, the leader of the Dravanian Horde.
However, Fiona found herself drawn to the woman known as Iceheart—Ysayle Dangoulain. Fiona and Ysayle, in the form of the primal Shiva, had battled before, and Ysayle had little trust for the Warrior. Nevertheless, Ysayle's passionate pleas for peace convinced Fiona to accompany her to the heart of Dravania.
Accompanied by Estinien and Alphinaud, Fiona and Ysayle climbed Sohm Al and learned the truth of the Dragonsong War.
In attempting to share the truth, they lost a beloved friend—Haurchefant.
"Oh, do not look at me so. A smile better suits a hero..." — Haurchefant Greystone
Fiona pursued Archbishop Thordan to Azys Lla, but hers was not the only ship seeking the floating archipelago. The VIth Imperial Legion, led by Regula van Hydrus, intercepted the Scions.
To their surprise, Ysayle appeared on dragonback, transformed into the primal Shiva, and halted the Legion's advance. The battle consumed all her aether and, in a shower of diamond dust, she plummeted from the sickly yellow skies.
Fiona watched in horror as the woman she had grown to love disappeared.
Although she defeated the Archbishop—and later Nidhogg—the events of the Dragonsong War left scars that would not heal for moons to come.
"Listen to my voice. Listen to our heartbeat." — Fray
With two dear friends lost, Fiona threw herself into whatever work she could find. While helping rebuild the Brume, she found the body of a dark knight bearing a soul crystal. As she reached out, Fiona collapsed. When Fiona opened her eyes, the fallen dark knight stood before her—apparently alive and well—and introduced herself as Fray.
Fray joined Fiona as she hunted resummoned primals. Together they fell primal after primal. Ifrit. Bismark. Garuda. Ravana. Each time the primal came back stronger, but so did the warriors.
Until they caught word of heretics summoning Shiva again.
Fiona and Fray traveled to the Akh Afah Ampitheatre to battle Shiva—no longer Ysayle's transformation, but a primal born purely of aether and prayer. The warriors defeated the primal, only to see her instantly resummoned again, and again, and again, and again.
Finally, Fiona succumbed to her injuries and collapsed on the icy amphitheatre floor. Shiva loomed over her and, instead of dealing a killing blow, said, "You're mistaken, Warrior. The one summoning me is you."
In blind grief, Fiona slashed at the primal. Ice from Shiva's heart flashed up Fiona's blade, coating it permanently in ice.
Fiona lost consciousness and awakened bound in chains. Lord Drillemont's soldiers found and brought her back to Whitebrim Front, where she would face accusations of necromancy. Alphinaud, ever the diplomat, had come to help, and witnessed Fray—in truth, a corpse animated by Fiona's grief and anger—breaking Fiona from her bonds. Fiona refused Fray's help, causing them to clash in battle.
Fiona eventually overcame Fray and accepted the darkness as her own. She had been used as a weapon and betrayed. Her friends were missing or dead, and no one seemed to care. Despite the pain, all she could do was be their Weapon of Light. Serve. Save. Slave. Slay.
But she had to be, because—despite everything—she still had those she loved and wanted to protect.
Alphinaud, calling in all the favors he had accrued in Coerthas, asked for Fiona to be cleared of all charges. Drillemont, all too aware of how problematic Ishgard's legal system could be, acquiesced.
Fiona and Alphinaud would never again speak of the matter. They each held a secret about the other, and their shared secrets and experiences would bind them in deepest friendship.
"...If this is how it must be, then so be it. But know that when you tire of this charade, I shall be here...waiting to take the reins..." — Fray
As the Dragonsong War wound to a close, the Scions proved their innocence in the alleged (and failed) assassination of the Sultana, Nanamo Ul Namo, and found all but three of their missing companions.
Alisaie suddenly arrived in Ishgard on death's door, having been attacked by a group claiming to be "Warriors of Darkness". The Scions sought the Warriors of Darkness and eventually clashed with them in the Ixali homeland of Xelphatol.
The Warriors of Darkness, led by "Arbert", were working with Elidibus to save their world—a parallel dimension known as the First Shard. The First was being swallowed by a Flood of Light that they, in their resounding success against the dark-aligned Ascians, had caused. Only by causing a Calamity of Light on the Source, Fiona's home, would their world be "saved"—absorbed into the Source like seven other Shards had before.
Through the Scion Urianger's machinations, the Warriors of Light and Darkness were brought into an audience with Hydaelyn Herself, with Minfilia as Her avatar. Minfilia would go to the First to stay the Flood of Light and be lost to the Scions forever.
"For those we have lost. For those we can yet save." — Various
Although they lost Minfilia, they soon found Yda and Papalymo assisting the Ala Mhigan Resistance. Tracing the path of illegal crystal trades, primal summonings, and former allies turned traitors, the Scions crossed Baelsar's Wall and joined Ala Mhigo in its fight for independence against Garlemald.
And, for the first time in twenty-six years, Fiona returned to Gyr Abania.

Fortunate Storm
Age: 28 (ARR) Race: Hellsguard Roegadyn Height: 7′4 ft. or 227 cm. Nameday: 18th Sunday of the Third Umbral Moon Main Job: Adventurer and Scion Combat Jobs: Ninja, Dragoon, Black Mage, and Monk Hobbies: Cooking, Fishing, and Botany Strengths: Kind, Cooperative, Good Listener, Altruistic Flaws: Impatient, Overbearing/Bossy, sometimes Critical, Naive
Backstory (contains spoilers from ARR)
Fortunate lived on a solitary island located far southwest of Ul’dah. The island holds a dormant volcano, where the people use the base of it for rituals and festivals. His village was small and gained income through fishing and farming. He never ventured out of his home besides the rare visits to Limsa Lominsa he went with his parents to see his father's family. As a child, he was trained in hand-to-hand combat by his mother and others. He was also skilled with knives. In his teen years, he was overconfident in his fighting skills and believed he could defeat a beastkin larger than him. It resulted him in getting his facial scars, his cousin to save him, and a wounded pride.
While young men left to follow their big dreams, Fortunate chose to stay in the village and taught the children how to fight. When the Calamity occured, the waves were coming closer to the land and everyone moved to higher ground. Fortunate led the elderly and children to safety as the water slowly rose. Everyone watched in despair as their homes and farms were swept away in the flood. The aftermath was a blur for Fortunate. As the flood receded into a calm sea, the damage was done. Beyond property damage, several people died, including Fortunate's uncle who tried to save someone. It was a difficult time for everyone as they rebuilt the village.
Five years later, the village reached a stable period and Fortunate's parents believed it was the right time for Fortunate to set off on his own journey. With some back and forth, Fortunate agreed to start his journey as an adventurer in Limsa Lominsa. As a family tradition, his mother placed volcanic ash onto his nose and each parent placed eye makeup made from local flowers onto his eyes. Fortunate’s facial makeup is a sign for leaving home and a promise to be safe.
He had a late start when becoming an adventurer, but his father advised him on what to do when he reach Limsa Lominsa. When he arrived there, he was unsure on what job he wanted to do after he became an adventurer. He enjoyed being a maruader, but was intrigued of the rogue guild after finding their hideout during a request he was doing. When joining the Scion and the Maelstrom, he had a naive, but hopeful sense that everything was shaping well. However, when the Garleans attacked the Waking Sands, a big realization dawned on him that people can be crushed by terrible force. Fortunate is able to steel himself, due to the training he received as a child, but he still is saddened when seeing fallen warriors. He remembers their lost lives in his heart and continues to fight for his family and friends.

It's the nerdiest imaginable thing but I made a little bio for Aramond for a roleplay server I'm in! You can read it below the cut. (To be edited, probably, as I play through the game. I wanna be lore compliant but I don't know all the lore yet lol)
Aramond Ouraux -- (ah · rah · mohn ooh · roh) Age: 31 Nameday: 28th Sun of the 4th Astral Moon Race: Elezen (Wildwood) Nation of Origin: Ishgard Languages: Eorzean Common, a bit of Old Elezen (the Brume accent has been carefully clipped away, but it peeks out every now and then) Height: 201.93 cm Class: BLM | DRK Crafter: Alchemist Gatherer: Botanist Most Likely to Find Him: In his study, in desperate need of sleep, food, or both. Backstory: Aramond was born and raised in the Brume. He doesn’t remember his father, who was killed in battle shortly after Aramond’s birth. His earliest memories are of his mother. She did all she could to care for him, but they struggled. Aramond often went without shelter or food. This hunger evolved into something deeper as he grew older. He was sensitive to magic even from a young age. That, coupled with his lack of means, left him with a sense of otherness; of never quite fitting in. He longed to better understand himself and his abilities. When his mother became ill, burning curiosity blossomed into desperation. He sought training, hoping that his innate talent for magic might yield something that could stave off her illness. He found a teacher in a local apothecary, an older Elezen named Thibodeaux, but even the most potent magic was not a cure-all. In the end, there was nothing Aramond could do to save his mother. She passed when he was fourteen. Thibodeaux took him in following his mother’s death, but Aramond was in no state to appreciate his good fortune. His mood darkened, as did his tastes. He became fixated on power, on the kind of magic that came more naturally to him than healing – but Thibodeax forbade even the theoretical study of black magic. Frustrated, Aramond fled Ishgard when he was sixteen, setting out for Ul’dah, where he joined the Thaumaturge’s Guild. Having a purpose, a focus, tempered the anger Aramond felt at his father’s abandonment, his mother’s death, and Thibodeaux’s disdain. He worked for many years in service to the Guild and to the Brass Blades, and learned the merit of using his magic, feared as it might be, for good. Especially following the Calamity, when there were suddenly so many souls in need of aid. Perhaps that was why the Scions appealed to him so strongly. Joining came with the promise of knowledge and power, yes, but also a chance to use that power to defend the helpless. He was never comfortable with the amount of positive attention he garnered under the Scions, but he was always proud of the cause he was serving. Being ousted after the death of the Sultana was a devastating turn, and being forced to flee back to Ishgard was like salt in the wound. The only silver lining was his liaison to House Fortemps, Haurchefant Greystone, with whom Aramond was quickly forming a firm bond. His fondness for the other man only grew during his time in Ishgard. He gained a new appreciation for his home country, seeing it through Haurchefant’s eyes. Haurchefant’s death has left Aramond reeling, and he is still deeply mourning the loss. (TBC as I complete the expansions.)
Personality: Aramond comes across as quiet and aloof, especially upon first meeting him. He carries himself rigidly and tends to speak in clipped, matter-of-fact tones. His intelligence is obvious, but he is not the most congenial Elezen around. The truth is, he’s painfully introverted and unaccustomed to dealing with people. He craves connection. Once he opens up to someone, he can prove insightful, generous, and unfalteringly loyal. He has an obsessive personality, which can be a blessing and a curse. His acute focus and resolve have seen him through many an impossible challenge, but he has a habit of sacrificing his physical and emotional needs in times of stress. He often prioritizes his work, or the tasks others place upon his shoulders, over himself. He has a romantic streak. When sufficiently inspired, he begins to think and speak in metaphors. He has a soft spot for beautiful flowers. In combat, Aramond values precision and efficiency. Better to carefully cast the right spell in the right place than to hurl all of his energy into a quick barrage of less effective magic. As he has taken up training as a Dark Knight, this calculating approach has stuck with him. A strange calm takes over him when a fight begins; almost as if someone else is guiding his hand.

Alright, now that I have something vaguely resembling a character bio, here we go. I only have the one OC, since I find it easier to keep up with fewer characters (oh god I have to write all the Scions). And this is the starting point I'm working with. I have no idea how she'll change as the story drives forward.
Also, since this is the pinned post, the blog is primarily focused on posting my writing, tagged with a realm rewritten, or reblogging cool FFXIV (or star wars, or other MMO) stuff. if I ever finish this project I might tackle another game. I'm gonna get better at gpose. How else am I gonna put a screenshot up to divide notes from the chapters? Still... I like this one.
The Protector
A Bozja survivor, thrust into Warrior of Light status while trying to find her comrades.
Name: Besany Nickname: Bes Gender: Female Race: Miqo’te (Near Eastern, from Bozja) Age: 23
Bes is a gunbreaker, and daughter of one of the last members of Gunnhildr's Blades. As a side effect of proximity to the incident that destroyed Bozja's citadel and ended countless lives, she struggles to manipulate aether in amounts any larger than what she needs in order to operate her blade.
To make up for this, she's developed an impressive amount of self sufficiency, which shows itself in nearly unmatched combat prowess, but also in a stubbornness that often causes her to refuse much-needed help. She's empathetic enough to put herself in harm's way to protect her found family, but often fails to heed their warnings and requests that she take care of herself or back down when she's outmatched.
When she's given downtime, she spends it preparing cartridges in anticipation of future combat, searching for other Bozjan survivors, or fishing.

Lala Menori
I'm Lala. Leianara, but only my wife calls me that.
Just a few things since I won't post here often, and mostly just screenies:
97 years old, Adventurer, Scholar, Overpowered Superhero.
Left Golmorre to be a scholar
Kicked out of Sharlayan for studying Black Magic (and definitely not because she blew up another professor's house) and became an adventurer
Took on the Warrior of Light thing after adventuring for a long, long time. Met Fortuna and the Scions and found a family.
Looks after Calina Meloda like a mother hen.
Married Y'shtola mostly to see her in the dress. She went along with it because Lala is impossible.
Lots of angst along the way.
Mostly magnanimous, and never boring. Equally likely to build you a house as crush your head in her thighs. Constantly daring and testing her limits. "If I don't have the threat of dying, I don't want to go."
