They're so tiny that I lost them in the grass & under other dogs. They're a precious little bean and I have a new goal... to make Pea 2.0, legless. I'm still learning how.

Arthur and Catherine meet on a Henry V play (which they named Henry after), which Catherine went to see and saw Arthur playing. She "shook off her security to disappear into London and dance all night".

Pez listens to kpop, and he got Alex into it

Nora watches drag race and got Henry into it

(Actually relevant in the book) June bought a teen magazine at 15 and 13 year old Alex would sneak into her room to stare at the magazine (and the picture of a blonde 14 year old British prince on it).

Bea had an addiction problem when Henry was about 17 (as a way to cope after their father's death) and only got herself into rehab after Henry went to her and started crying about dad was dead and he was gay and scared so she couldn't kill herself. That's how he came out to her

Alex runs and runs to cope and clear his head

He did not know he was bi until after Henry kissed him. Yes, he had a friend with benefits relationship with his high school friend Liam, but he genuinely thought it was perfectly platonic and straight

Also he doesn't keep on touch with Liam after high school (their friendship just slowly fades away, with living so far and Alex being suddenly famous) but they reconnect at the end

The Kensington fight (after the lakehouse confession) is much more dramatic, they don’t go to the v&a that night, but the next night. That morning Henry got up early, and brought Alex coffee when he woke up. They made up.

BigB blinks. "I don't believe it… What did I just hear?"

Cleo digs her nails in Martyn's skin. "What did you hear?"

"He's courting you?" BigB vaporizes the notebook back into the soul slot of his inventory. He leaps down from the lamppost. Enormous moth wings crack open long enough for two small flaps, then pull in like rolled-up cookie dough as his feet tap against the bedrock road. "No way," he says, and Cleo does not love the tremor in his voice. BigB stalks forward. His hands shake at the wrists. Martyn slides one arm forward, putting it between BigB and Cleo, but BigB doesn't even slow. He opens his mouth, eyes wobbling like a reflection in a pond. Or maybe a twisted mirror. "Did you just pretend to be courting to get Scott off your back? Did you just lie to Scott?"

"What?" The word gushes out. Martyn grips their arm. BigB steps forward, wings sweeping at his heels like a cloak, and those few extra pixels of height difference suddenly make all the difference in the world. Cleo brushes Martyn aside, fading him to the background, and lurches forward to meet BigB in the middle of the road. He wraps his arms around himself, nails curled and dragging down his sleeves. They're catching in his blue jumper threads. "Excuse me?"

"You're lying. Cleo, this isn't you."

Why does he know? Why can he see through her to her core and recognize what Scott couldn't? It twists a sword around and around in her gut, the same way BigB twisted it when he stabbed upwards, clutching her body close against him in that Last Life river all those years ago. Before he let her slump forward, splashing, dead and swirling in Cleo-colored pixels all the way down. She wishes for half a second she was Martyn just to have a tail to snap. "Who are you to tell me how I feel?"

BigB opens his mouth… but nothing comes out. He closes it again, rolling back on his heels. He blinks. He blinks again, and Cleo's hearts pump through her code and wham against their skin. BigB doesn't say the words. He just looks at her, but she can read the question in his face.

"You forgive him for killing you on-server over a pointless joke? He took your life and you take him back? You share your flowers… But when it was boogeyman curse stuff, you threw me away? You still avoid eye contact? Still claim to hate me? Still claim what's broken can never be fixed?"

He doesn't say any of that, because he's BigB. BigB is a quiet person. He just…

He looks at her, and she reads it off him. Cleo's fingers tighten at her sides, pinching pixels until the nails phase through skin. BigB backs off fast, mumbling and lifting his palms in some roundabout apology. Cleo says something then, like "Don't start- We're over-" and Martyn moves forward then. He wraps his arm behind her neck so it drapes around her shoulder. She doesn't push him off. He's loose, eyeing her, waiting for a signal.

They could probably say something like "Martyn's my soulmate" and maybe he'd believe it. But… those words gleam like bitter poison on her tongue.

Double Life was just a mod and a randomizer on a server of 14 people. Martyn's not "perfect" for her. He's just the sap who latched onto her health bar like a leech. Tango and Jimmy can play it up all they like, and Etho and Joel are the same way. But Martyn is not that good a match for her. He's "there." He's not "perfect." And the soulmate mechanic doesn't mean jack out in Between. It's unrealistic to find someone who fits so well in your life in a server of only 14.

"I'm sorry," BigB mumbles, lowering his head. His wings shift, the eyespots squeezed tight just like his actual eyes. They're chocolate chips sinking into cookie dough. He takes two steps back, squaring his shoulders, and links his hands behind his neck. Full posture. Wings down, not flapping in her face. "Did Scott yell at you? Are you okay? … I won't tell him. I know what it's like to need a breath of air. It's one of the reasons I modded away my ability to see through blocks. It was… too tempting."

Cleo's brain skips a beat. "We're fine, thanks. And don't you tell Scott we were lying, because we weren't lying."

Why him? fills the silence between them. BigB's wings shift. "I won't tell," he repeats. "Just be more careful next time. There's raiders out there tonight and it's a full moon. Take it from someone who used to run with the pack: they're looking for a fight tonight. Glad they didn't get you, though. Glad you're safe." One antennae lifts, tracking vibrations in the air. "Have a nice night, you two."

"We will," they chorus, and BigB trots off towards the tunnel entrance. His wings aren't bulky like Martyn's are. They're made of stretched-thin code without tight-knit bony bits. He wriggles through and disappears. He's off to check on Scott. Cleo lowers their voice to a whisper so thin, Martyn leans his head in to hear. "Mmhm. Great… This is fantastic, Martyn. Now all of New Star will know about us by next week… if not 20k ticks from now."

Martyn turns his head. He doesn't speak, clearly reluctant to say too much when they don't know where his hearing range cuts off. He breathes in soft, flickery huffs. He says nothing.

Neither of them speak for a moment. Martyn holds her shoulder and Cleo leans their head on his, even as their ear prickles against his pixels. She wants to address the "ravager in the chunk border" they're both ignoring here, but Scott and BigB are dangerous people to speak these things around. And Martyn can't look at her. Won't look at her. He fiddles with his hoodie pocket. His tail uncurls against the ground.

"You look flustered," Cleo tells him, just to break the silence. She disengages from his arm and steps back. It's a full moon. She's dropped to sunset hour, her wrist-comm glowing orange, but who knows… He might shriek or lash out as aggro takes control, even if he doesn't eat her. Fine. She's got the stomach for it. "You good?"

Martyn coils his tail like a fist. He knocks it against the bedrock floor. When he turns, his eyes train on hers, like a dog's, though pale blue freckles flip over across his cheeks as pixels rearrange. "Um…"

The word stutters out. Cleo looks at him. Martyn, in all his faults, is the most honest man in the world. Oh, he's a liar. He's only loyal as far as you can reel him in. But for all his fumbling, you can read him like his thoughts are printed on his face. And he knows it, too…

… and doesn't know what to say.

The Wobbledog // "Woof! Ruff!"

HEALTH: 150 // HUNGER: // 100 SANITY: 150

*- Sensitive to foodborne mutagens *- Can recycle their own death *- Only A Little Bit Wobbly

(1) Wandy gains gut flora dependent on the food value of the foods they eat. Once Wandy has a certain number of gut flora, and at least one day has passed since Wandy's last pupation, Wandy can pupate. After pupation, 3 flora are chosen randomly to have their effects applied- then the effect chance is rolled. Mutations change Wandy's appearance, abilities and stats.

(2) When Wandy dies, they drop dog parts containing some of their prior gut flora (and canem labo), as well as a dog core. Wandy can hold onto an intact dog core for some passive sanity, or even socket them into Crab King's crown (where they function as random gems, or maybe have a wacky unique effect). Wandy can also crack a dog core and eat it, gaining Bacillus vitae gut flora. Under the effects of Bacillus vitae, when Wandy next dies, they will be able to survive at low health- but at the cost of becoming ancient (which causes them to loose the ability to mutate)

(3) Wandy can sometimes fall over, especially when moving at high speeds (chance increases by .5% for each 1% of speed buff), wet (above .5% chance for every point of wetness), or at low sanity (+.5% chance for every point of sanity below 100%), or when when carrying heavy loads (+10% chance). Certain mutations also increase Wandy's falling chance, such as short body, narrow body, and mismatched limb lengths. Default falling chance is 1% per 5 pitchfork tiles distance traveled. All mutations are absolute instead of gradual! Wandy either has them, or doesn't have them, for modding complexity's sake. All gloss/metallic/matte modifiers will not be included, and neither will pattern brightness or size modifiers.

When Wandy pupates, 3 flora are chosen randomly from the gut flora to have their effects applied- then the effect chance is rolled.

👽 A headcanon about a weird quirk of theirs

by "all of them" i'm taking that to mean all recurring names i actively write for in my actually-listed AUs, so let's do this rapid-fire style hell yeah

second chance shadow: little creature who squeaks and purrs. has two types of purrs; one that's catlike and done deliberately for promoting healing in others, and one a bit squeakier that's usually happening on its own because he's super comfortable to the point of falling asleep.

metal: not "weird", but occasionally pretends he's still mute/incapable of communication if he really doesn't like someone. just stares deadpan at them like they're stupid for trying to talk to him. alternatively, chooses to use sign language instead of audibly speaking just to be an asshole if he knows said disliked-person can't read it. he's very petty and full of spite, always, and this kind of insult has Layers considering his relationship with communication in general.

alt-doom: a very "how do you do, fellow kids" sort when it comes to interacting with people outside his immediate hive. it's not secondhand embarrassing or cringe-worthy or anything, he's just a tiny bit out of his depth emotionally sometimes. it comes off a little like someone who's socially awkward but managing to hide it by being incredibly charismatic. at least he means well.

caretaker: displays closed captions on his visor instead of talking sometimes. usually this is done as an accessibility thing, either for who he's speaking to or for himself if he's overstimulated. but every so often he does it as a dismissive insult in a way similar to metal, which is definitely where metal picked it up from.

ros: purposely sleeps sitting up when he's uneasy/unwell. otherwise falls asleep just about anywhere, which is awfully convenient for someone who's out cold anywhere from 10-16hrs a day. despite looking like a feline, can't purr. his attempts sound kind of... wobbly.

semi-modern shadow: mumbles to himself a lot. usually parts of actual conversations he's having with mephiles or maria's soul. the rest of team dark is pretty used to it at this point and doesn't ask him to speak up/repeat himself anymore since they know it's not to them.

amnesiac/redeemed god mephiles: no matter which side of the became-a-god-again arc it is, they have a habit of staying half "submerged" in ground shadows while conversing with someone as they walk together. especially prior to regaining their god status, this occasionally led to abruptly sinking the rest of the way down when someone would approach, leaving semi-modern looking like he was talking to thin air the whole time. post-redemption, they still sometimes "sneak up" on people by appearing in their ground shadow and waiting to be noticed.

aruna: can and will fall asleep to blaring sirens. or just about any other droning frequency. it can be a little concerning, given certain frequencies will put him into an almost sedated/trancelike sleep. also likes sleeping in literal dog beds. he has no idea this could be seen as degrading, despite his first introduction to one being literally intended as such.

lab rat shadow: has a burrowing instinct unrelated to anything in his history. if you give him a pile of blankets and pillows, he'll naturally end up hidden in/under all of them despite having never interacted with so many at once before.

metal medic: can't communicate or hum/sing in any traditional sense, but can mimic the idea of it by producing a series of differently-pitched beeps and blips. has a very limited range, but uses it as a sort of lullaby. it's questionable whether this was a coded function or if he figured it out himself.

. i have a lot of favorite english speaker streamers but the ones i’m currently watching the most are slimecicle and philza. i’ve been following the both of them for many years and i was super duper excited to see both of them join the qsmp when it first started!! they’re both so silly goofy and they live in my head rent free.

. oooooouuuuuuhhhh. that’s hard. can i give you tops? it’s definitely between cellbit, baghera, etoiles and roier. although i don’t know what they’re saying half of the time, tuning into their streams is always fun! whenever they’re laughing on stream i find myself smiling too! i’ve also been inspired to learn other languages because of them. (i have like 15 languages that im working on in duolingo. don’t ask) they’re also AMAZING at lore. (especially roier. his character is so sad. he is quite literally the therapist who needs therapy.)
